Abstract

Community forestry (HKm) is a state forest that aims to empower communities around the forest without disturbing its main function, whose management is carried out by farmer groups. However, there are still many members of farmer groups who do not understand HKm management. This service activity is carried out to increase the knowledge of farmer groups as community forest managers. The target of this activity is the Sintuvu Roso farmer group, Wombo Kalonggo Village, Tanantovea District, Donggala Regency. Based on the results of observations, situation analysis and problem identification, it was discovered that the partners had problems, including the social forestry work plan and annual work plan had not been prepared, and many group members did not know the HKm limits. The stages of the implementation of community service consist of observation, problem identification, counseling and training, evaluation of activities and preparation of reports. The solution to this problem is that partners carry out counseling activities on how to manage and prepare HKm work plans and training on using Avenza maps. The results of the implementation of the service that has been carried out are increasing the knowledge of farmer groups in managing community forests and using the Avenza Maps application.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. The sustainable management of the Miu watershed Basin is something that needs to be considered in line with the increasing complexity of environmental sustainability challenges and current water availability, not limited to maintaining the flow of water but need to pay attention to the balance of the ecosystem. Ecosystem conditions that are maintained influence high water absorption capacity, thereby reducing surface water runoff.. This research was conducted in the Miu watershed Basin with the aim of identifying the potential for water absorption, the method used in this study was a scoring method with four parameters, namely soil type, slope, rainfall, and land use. Data analysis was carried out using a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The results showed that the water absorption conditions in the Miu watershed Basin were classified as good (8.29%), normal good (73.91%), starting to be critical (14.51%), moderately critical (3.29%), and critical ( 0.00%).

Abstract

Weaving is a hereditary culture passed down by people in Indonesia and various types of its crafts produce higher economic value. Therefore, this study aims to measure whether the rattan craftsmen have achieved optimal orders and products by calculating the period of the order quantity (POQ) and Economic Production Amount (EPQ) for six months. The average value of ordering raw materials from actual data and analysis results was 918 kg. The results also showed that the production needs to be increased by 40%, but after this analysis was applied to the craftsmen, they cannot increase revenues. However, they can reduce costs in ordering raw materials. This indicates that the solution from this study cannot be applied optimally because the craftsmen do not want to take the risk of making more products but only based on orders.

Abstract

Abstract

The Community Conservation Partnership (CCP) is a policy option for ensuring the sustainability of conservation functions while improving the local community's economy. The critical issue in implementing this policy is local institutional capacity. This study aimed to describe the correlation between local institutional capacity and the performance of community conservation partnerships in LLNP. This study was carried out in 10 villages that had established conservation partnership agreements with LLNP managers. This research adopted a quantitative descriptive method. This study revealed that CCP performance was significantly dependent on local institutional capacity. The CCP programme improved the function of conservation areas, but did not boost the local economy significantly. Trust and financial capacity are the essential organisational and management capacities that strongly correlate with CCP performance. The performance of CCP was more strongly correlated with the organisational and management capacity of the local institution than with individual capacity. The individual capacity of the local institution that strongly correlated with CCP performance was only the technical capacity in forestry. Therefore, strengthening capacity at organizational and management levels, such as building trust, communications, and funding support for local institutions, is crucial for improving and sustaining conservation partnerships.
