Abstract

Setiap pendidik dituntut untuk dapat menguasai teknologi dan dapat menghadirkannya dalam pembelajaran, termasuk teknologi untuk mengenalkan anak dengan kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berhitung (calistung). Akan tetapi kemampuan tersebut belum dapat dihadirkan oleh guru-guru PAUD yang berada di Kelurahan Gunung, Jakarta Selatan. Adanya keterbatasan pengetahuan dan kemampuan dari pendidik serta kurangnya pelatihan pemanfaatan teknologi, menjadi faktor ketidakhadiran media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Untuk itu, kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat akan difokuskan pada upaya untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru PAUD melalui pemanfaatan microsoft powerpoint dalam membuat media pembelajaran calistung untuk anak usia prasekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, pelatihan, penugasan, pendampingan, presentasi dan evaluasi, serta keberlanjutan yang dilakukan dengan menyediakan materi mengenai tahapan penggunaan fitur-fitur dalam microsoft powerpoint. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan. Mitra terlibat dalam penyusunan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari lima games yang dihasilkan oleh 11 guru dalam 5 kelompok terlihat bahwa hasil karya tersebut telah memenuhi  unsur-unsur penilaian yaitu kesesuaian konten terkait kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berhitung serta terkait penggunaan fitur-fitur di dalam microsoft powerpoint untuk membuat games. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa microsoft powerpoint dapat meningkatkan kapasitas guru PAUD dalam membuat games calistung.Kata Kunci: Berhitung, Kapasitas Guru, Membaca, Menulis, Permainan Edukatif.

Abstract

Keterampilan mengajar merupakan keterampilan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru dalam mengajar yang salah satunya adalah keterampilan menjelaskan. Keterampilan menjelaskan sangat penting dimiliki oleh seorang guru karena guru yang terampil dalam menjelaskan akan membuat anak paham dan mengerti tentang apa yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan keterampilan menjelaskan yang dimiliki guru Taman Kanak-kanak. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini ialah guru kelas kelompok B TK Islam Al Ikhlas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles and Huberman yang mencakup tahap reduksi, display, dan verifikasi data. Indikator keterampilan menjelaskan yaitu kemampuan merencanakan dan kemampuan menyajikan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menjelaskan telah dimiliki guru terutama pada aspek perencanaan, namun pada aspek penyajian, guru harus meningkatkan kemampuannya terutama pada penggunaan bahasa yang efektif (tidak berbelit-belit), baik, dan benar.

Abstract

Sampah masih menjadi permasalahan tersendiri yang menimbulkan dampak besar bagi lingkungan dan kesehatan. Sampah yang terbagi menjadi sampah organik dan sampah non organik terbanyak dihasilkan dari rumah tangga. Diperlukan pemahaman yang cukup agar orangtua mampu memanfaatkan sampah non organik dan menggunakannya sebagai media pembelajaran bagi anak usia prasekolah, selain juga untuk mengurangi sampah dan menjaga kelestarian alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman orangtua mengenai sampah non organik dan pemanfaatannya sebagai media pembelajaran anak prasekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskrIptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis model interactive Miles and Huberman yang mencakup tahap koleksi data, reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data. Penentuan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, dengan kriteria keluarga dengan anak usia 4-6 tahun yang dan bersedia menjadi responden penelitian. Adapun jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 15 orang tua dengan kriteria tersebut yang berlokasi di wilayah Tangerang Selatan, Banten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman orangtua mengenai sampah non organik dan pemanfaatannya sebagai media pembelajaran berada pada kategori baik, dimana responden mampu menjelaskan makna sampah non organik dengan benar; mampu membedakan dengan cara menyebutkan jenis sampah non organik dengan benar; mampu menjelaskan pentingnya melakukan daur ulang; dan mampu menyebutkan/ mencontohkan media pembelajaran yang dapat dibuat dengan memanfaatkan sampah non organik.

Abstract

Professional development is mandatory for educators who have completed their educational qualifications. This aims to ensure that educators can continue to improve their knowledge and skills by changing times, which, of course, have an influence on the world of education. The research aims to analyze professional development at the educator level for kindergarten-age children. Quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design type. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires in form. The research subjects consisted of 43 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using statistics. The research results show that of the various types of professional development programs, many teachers participate in training, workshops, educational conferences, and seminars. These two types of programs fulfill a lot of knowledge and skills. Even though teachers have obstacles in developing professionalism, such as time, funds, and suitability of training materials to their needs, they still try to do it with their desires. Support from education unit leaders and the impact on their competencies felt after participating in the development program are other factors in implementing the development of educational professionalism. The implication is that professional development program organizers need to carefully consider various things so that more educators can participate in the programs provided, including analyzing the knowledge and skills teachers need.

Abstract

Introducing culture through the learning process to early childhood requires readiness from educators. The purpose of this research is to describe how the teacher's readiness to introduce Betawi culture in learning in Kindergarten. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with a case study approach. Respondents were 2 people consisting of school principals and teachers. Data collection was carried out using open interview methods, observation of the learning process, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Milles and Hubberman model with 4 steps, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study show that although teachers still need to improve their understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum, teachers are ready to introduce Betawi culture to children, especially the I Love Indonesia theme with the topic Es Selendang Mayang. Readiness can be seen from the selection of materials, preparation of teaching materials, and mastery of teaching materials, where this occurs, among other things, due to the teacher's critical reflection and the collaboration of school principals, teachers, and parents. The implication is the need for collaboration between teachers, principals, and parents in introducing local culture as the implementation of the Independent Curriculum; as well as increasing teacher knowledge about local culture so that they can master the material that will be presented while at the same time being able to create a learning environment that is in accordance with the local cultural material.

Abstract

Persepsi guru terhadap budaya lokal berperan penting dalam menciptakan pembelajaran berbasis budaya yang menarik dan menantang bagi anak usia dini. Persepsi dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan dan pengalaman guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi guru PAUD terkait pengenalan budaya Betawi dalam pembelajaran. Menggunakan desain survei dengan pertanyaan terbuka, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan secara daring menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp dengan bantuan pengurus Ikatan Guru Taman Kanak-Kanak wilayah. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk grafik serta narasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang budaya lokal dan mengenal berbagai jenis budaya Betawi. Tantangan utama adalah kurangnya pengetahuan mendalam tentang budaya lokal serta keterbatasan sarana dan media pembelajaran. Media seperti gambar cetak, buku cerita, serta metode bercerita dan tanya jawab menjadi strategi utama. Hasil ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran yang berpusat pada anak.

Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of PAUD teachers in Lebak, Banten, about critical thinking skills in learning for children aged 4-6 years, learning strategies, and challenges faced. A descriptive quantitative approach was used with an open-ended questionnaire filled out by 131 teachers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with presentation in the form of visual graphs. The results showed that teachers' understanding of critical thinking indicators varied, with 39.6% understanding critical thinking more as the ability to analyze, 14.4% as interpretation, 12.6% as evaluation, 8.2% as inference, 5.4% as explanation, and 4.5% as self-regulation. Teachers emphasized analysis and interpretation through interactive methods, while evaluation and inference were less applied. The novelty of this study lies in the mapping of teachers' understanding based on critical thinking indicators and their impact on learning strategies. Recommendations for training based on direct practice and reflection to improve the implementation of critical thinking evenly are contributions to the research results as well as being the basis for improving policies and developing teacher training in areas with low HDI.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by Early Childhood Education Programs (ECEP) teachers in introducing Lebak’s local culture to preschool children within early childhood education programs. A descriptive survey method with a cross-sectional design was used to capture teachers' strategies at a specific point in time. This study involved 40 respondents from 28 ECEP institutions, including public and private schools, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of demographic questions and open-ended questions exploring cultural content, teaching methods, and media. The collected data were analyzed using simple statistical methods, including graphical representation and narrative description. The results showed that the most common cultural content introduced was Baduy culture, followed by traditional food and clothing. Storytelling emerged as the most frequently used method, followed by questions, video presentations, demonstrations of real objects, and observation of images. Storytelling is preferred because it allows children to understand cultural narratives in an interesting and meaningful way. However, the storytelling techniques used by teachers often focus more on conveying information than stimulating higher-order thinking skills. In addition, video media is widely used because of its effectiveness in attracting children's attention and simplifying cultural concepts, but teachers need further training to improve the quality of educational videos. In conclusion, ECEP teachers in Lebak, Banten, have implemented various strategies to introduce local culture. However, improvements are needed, especially in improving questioning techniques in storytelling and optimizing educational video production.

Abstract

Many early childhood education programs still heavily rely on worksheets, thereby limiting children's opportunities to engage in play-based literacy activities that support their natural development. Moreover, teachers often lack practical and easy-to-use learning resources to stimulate early literacy skills in accordance with children's developmental stages. This study aims to develop a pocket book that can be used by teachers to enhance their understanding of early literacy skills in children and ways to stimulate them. The research method used is development research with the ADDIE model, limited to the implementation stage. The sample at the implementation stage consisted of 6 kindergarten teachers and 14 students from the Early Childhood Teacher Education program. Data collection was carried out through observation, validation, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques based on validation results from three experts, practitioners, as well as responses from kindergarten teachers and students. The results in the development phase showed that the pocket book was rated as "Feasible." Furthermore, the small group assessment involving five practitioners yielded scores in the "Highly Feasible" category. At the implementation stage, the revised pocket book was assessed by a large group of 20 respondents and received scores within the "Highly Feasible" criteria. The conclusion from this study is that the pocket book for developing early literacy skills using 4P media is highly feasible for use in the learning process of early childhood education. The implication of this research is the availability of a practical learning resource that can help teachers improve the quality of early literacy learning in a more effective and enjoyable way.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a vital 21st-century skill that should be nurtured from an early age. One effective approach is through the use of digital storybooks based on local culture. Despite its rich cultural heritage, including the traditions of the Baduy people, integration of local culture into early childhood education in Lebak Regency remains limited. A survey of 40 kindergarten teachers found that only 7 schools had access to reading materials related to Lebak’s local culture. This study aimed to develop a digital storybook titled “Hitam Putih Pakaian Adat Suku Baduy” using the ADDIE model. Validation results from media experts (95%), early childhood education experts (83%), communication experts (93%), and prospective users (91%) indicated that the product was highly feasible. Field trials with 10 children aged 5–6 years showed that the most developed critical thinking skills were evaluation and self-regulation, with average scores across six aspects ranging from 2.6 to 3.8 on a 4-point scale. Interpretation and inference were also strong, while analysis and explanation required additional support. These findings suggest that culturally based digital storybooks can effectively foster critical thinking in early learners, but teacher involvement remains essential to enhance deeper reasoning and understanding.
