Abstract

Background: Indonesia was one of ten countries with the highest child marriage rate, and second highest in ASEAN after Cambodia. According to data, South Sulawesi was province with the 4th position contributing to the marriage of children in Indonesia. In South Sulawesi, age of marriage less than 14 years is 0.5 percent, while age of marriage between 15 years to 19 years is 33.5 percent. Objective: This research aimed to know health status of adolescent girls who have conducted child marriage in Makassar City. Method: This research used descriptive research with quantitative approach. The variables in this research health status from child and mother. The population in this study were all girls aged 15-24 years that chosed by Snowball Sampling nonrandom method with sample size 101 girls. Results and Discussion: Health status in this study form mother and child. For mother, Body Mass Index (BMI) category owned by adolescent girls who experience child marriages, underweight 18 people (17.8%), ideal body weight 66 people (65.3%), and overweight 17 people (16.8%). For child, the status of the weight of the first child at birth, low birth weight (LBW) 8 people (9.9%), not experience LBW 73 people (90.1%). Conclusion: The description of the health status of adolescent girls shows some things that are not good for the health of adolescent girls that can be reviewed in terms of two things, namely the condition of the mother and the condition of the child. The most influential health conditions are the nutritional status of children, immunization of children, nutritional status of mothers, and some knowledge about reproductive health that is still low. Abstract

The current study aimed at examining the relationship between grit and life satisfaction through meaning in life. Data were taken using online survey from university students in Depok city (N = 505). Variables were measured using The Grit Scale, Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ), and Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). Data were analyzed using simple mediation model on Hayes PROCESS macro on SPSS program. Results showed that grit was positively and significantly related with life satisfaction and meaning in life, respectively, and meaning in life positively and significantly related with life satisfaction. Lastly, meaning in life partially mediated the relationship between grit and life satisfaction.

Abstract

This article discusses the model of training, development and accompaniment of small business of sala Lauak in Ulakan. The purposes of this project are to increase and improve: 1) Understanding of partner to business planning and management by transferring knowledge to improve their ability in accounting and simple book keeping. 2) Their ability to do process traditional food hygienically, using supported tools of production (Frying and packing) 3) The value added of traditional food and their income through product diversification, developing new recipes ,and variety of product sold. 4) Their Services in sales by re lay out stall and sales method in order to comfort their buyer; 5) their product quality by supporting partner get legality of production. 6) Finding the right model for training by sharing method and discussion also direct practice, 7) Finding model of development and empower the community to be role model of conceptual, hygienic and competitive development of region

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) refers to employee behavior that is voluntary and does not attract formal rewards from organizations, but which can increase their effectiveness and efficiency. This study aims to examine the mediating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship between perceived workload and OCB. Data were collected using the snowball sampling method and an online survey of 201 employees aged 19-50 working in various private organizations in Indonesia, particularly in the Jakarta, Indonesia (female: 54.7%; male: 45.7%). The measuring instruments used were the workload subscale of the Job Demand-Resource scale, the Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire (PEQ), and the OCB subscale of the Task Performance Scale. Data were analyzed by the mediation technique using Hayes's Macro. The results show that perceived workload positively predicted psychological empowerment (B = 0.192, p < .01) and that psychological empowerment positively predicted OCB (B = 0.2189, p < .01). The results also show that psychological empowerment mediated the relationship between perceived workload and OCB (B= 0.021, SE = 0.0160, 95% CI [0.0143, 0.0759]). From the findings, it is expected that organizations will be able to manage the workload of their employees and create positive emotions in it.

Abstract

Teaching grammar had been a crucial aspect of foreign language teaching because grammatical competence is important for communication. However, learning grammar is difficult for most Indonesian students because of the monotonous techniques implemented by the teachers. Snowball throwing is one of the creative techniques in teaching grammar. Further, tense is one of the objects to learn by students in structure. Therefore, based on the description above, the aims of this study were to describe the implementation of snowball throwing technique in teaching grammar, the students’ response towards the implementation of the snowball throwing technique, and the benefits of applying the technique. The method applied in conducting this study was descriptive qualitative analysis. Particularly, the participants of this study were 100 first semester students of English department in Universitas Pamulang taking the subject of Basic Grammar. In order to support the study finding, the writers taught grammar using snowball throwing technique, and the participants were selected based on the purposive sampling. The data were achieved from classroom observation and students’ interview through questionnaire. Further, the findings showed that there were nine stages in implementing snowball throwing in teaching grammar. The stages consisted of preparing teaching material, forming group, explaining the material to the leader of the group, re-explaining the material to the members of the group, formulating question, tossing the ball, answering questions, evaluating teaching and learning process, and giving conclusion. After finishing the learning, the writers distributed the questionnaire. These instruments were administered to analyse and obtain the findings of study. Practically, the writers expected that the study will enrich the benefits of snowball throwing technique in learning grammar, such as improving students’ comprehension in learning grammar, creating enjoyable learning atmosphere, developing students’ cooperation skill, and increasing students’ participation in the class.

Abstract

In digital era, it is possible for the term "home education" which presents the role of the family to the childhood education. The development of children's mathematics involved role of parents lies, so a mechanism needs to be established about the importance of mathematics learning in the early years and its forms about mathematical activities for children. Learning mathematics in early childhood connects the use of formative values, namely observation, assignments, and interviews for planned teaching. Pedagogical practice focuses on the involvement of children in games, reading stories/picture books, doing project work, and learning mathematics through art or physics. This gives the explanation that children in early education with their settings involve mathematical ideas. This research aims to provide solutions and ideas for parents in teaching children of early age (0-3) years old on mathematics. This research also provides an explanation of parental involvement in teaching mathematics by playing together and preparing children to face mathematics at the next level. The research method used is based on field research, literature studies, and observations. Report of evaluation and observation provide good results with the use of one of the learning methods, namely the montessori method. It also gives an explanation of the importance of togetherness of children and parents in learning mathematics without eliminating children's play time.

Abstract

Indonesia termasuk salah satu negara yang potensial bencana alam termasuk tsunami. Secara geografis indonesia berada di wilayah patahan gempa, dan banyak gunung berapi yang kondisinya masih aktif. secara historis sejak tahun 1968- 2006 telah terjadi 7 kali gempa yang diikuti tsunami. Di penghujung tahun 2018, bencana tsunami terjadi Selat Sunda. Ada dua daerah yakni Banten dan Lampung yang menjadi korban tsunami. Dampak psikologis yang terjadi akibat tsunami adalah trauma. Permasalahan trauma di masyarakat seringkali menjadi disfungsi psikologis yang sangat mengganggu. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan upaya bantuan yang fokus pada penyelesaian masalah trauma. Konseling traumatik menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut. Konseling traumatik fokus pada mengembalikan kondisi trauma masyarakat ke kondisi psikologis yang sehat. Adapun Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) dipilih karena CBT merupakan teknik konseling yang menggabungkan terapi kognitif dan terapi prilaku. Terapi kognitif penting diberikan kepada korban, karena orang yang menjadi korban seringkali memiliki pemikiran yang tidak rasional, kehilangan harapan, serta sulit terhubung dengan dunia nyata. Oleh karena itu mereka mengalami gangguan perilaku seperti murung, sulit berkomunikasi secara sehat, prilaku pasif tidak mau bangkit dari keterpurukan dan sebagainya. Terapi behavioral menjadi bagian penting yang tak terpisahkan. Melalui konseling traumatic dengan CBT dapat mereduksi trauma masyarakat akibat tsunami di Selat Sunda. Indonesia is one of the countries with potential natural disasters including tsunamis. Geographically Indonesia is in an earthquake fault area, and many volcanoes are in active condition. Historically since 1968- 2006 there have been 7 earthquakes followed by tsunamis. At the end of 2018, the tsunami disaster occurred in the Sunda Strait. There are two regions, Banten and Lampung, which were victims of the tsunami. The psychological impact of the tsunami is trauma. The problem of trauma in the community is often a very disturbing psychological dysfunction. Therefore, a real effort is needed to focus on solving trauma problems. Traumatic counseling is one alternative in helping to solve these problems. Traumatic counseling focuses on returning the community's trauma to a healthy psychological condition. The CBT was chosen because CBT is a counseling technique that combines cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy. Cognitive therapy is important given to victims, because people who are victims often have irrational thoughts, lose hope, and are difficult to connect with the real world.Therefore they suffer from behavioral disorders such as moodiness, difficulty communicating in a healthy manner, passive behavior, and do not want to rise from adversity. Behavioral therapy is an important part that is inseparable. Through traumatic counseling with CBT can reduce community trauma due to the tsunami in the Sunda Strait.

Abstract

Distinguishing and pronouncing the sound of sha, sa, ja, za, tsu, double sounds, long sounds, nasal sounds, and youon sounds are still considered difficult for Japanese learners; it is becoming a problem because when the learners cannot distinguish the correct sounds in Japanese, it will result in an inability to pronounce and write Japanese sounds correctly. This study has tested the effectiveness of the minimal pairs technique in learning Japanese pronunciation and the learners's response to the technique. The research employed a quasi-experimental quantitative method by applying the minimal pairs technique to learn Japanese pronunciation in one class, Japanese level N5 or beginner level. The comparative statistical calculation result showed that the Minimal Pairs model is effective in improving Japanese pronunciation in long vowels, double consonants, semi-vowel sounds, tsu sounds, nasal sounds, and also helped the learners’ to understand differences in sa and sha line sounds and the difference between the sounds of the za and ja lines. The questionnaire result showed that the learners feel that the technique is quite tedious, but on the other hand, the technique is beneficial for them in learning and practicing Japanese pronunciation.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis pendidikan karakter sudah lama didengungkan baik oleh pemerintah ataupun pakar pendidikan. Bagi lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling yang mengorientasikan lulusannya menjadi pendidik di bidang Bimbingan dan Konseling, pembelajaran berbasis pendidikan karakter mendesak untuk dijadikan gerakan bersama. Mengingat konselor Sekolah atau sering disebut dengan istilah guru BK adalah sosok penting yang memiliki peran cukup signifikan dalam mengembangkan dan mengoptimalkan potensi siswa. Meski demikian, asumsi : “Guru BK identik dengen Polisi Sekolah” belum juga hilang. Hal ini dikarenakan masih banyak guru BK yang belum dapat memerankan dirinya sebagai “sahabat siswa” dalam membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan mereka. Dominasi prilaku yang tidak bersahabat seperti menghukum, menginvestigasi, menyalahkan dan menghakimi sering disebut sebagai sumber lahirnya istilah polisi sekolah. Melalui pembelajaran yang berbasis pada pendidikan karakter diharapkan akan memberi kontribusi positif bagi lahirnya guru-guru BK yang profesional.

Abstract

Kontrasepsi suntik menimbulkan efek samping yang sering dikeluhkan para akseptor KB suntik yaitu berupa peningkatan berat badan dan gangguan siklus menstruasi. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei yang bersifat analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada tanggal 18-25 Juni 2015 di Puskesmas Darul Imarah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara total sampling. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji statistic (chi square test) dengan tingkat kemaknaan 95% (p ≤ 0.05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara lamanya pemakaian suntikan DMPA dengan perubahan berat badan (p-value=0.00). Ada hubungan antara lamanya pemakaian suntikan DMPA dengan pola menstruasi (p-value=0.02). Kata Kunci: Berat Badan, Menstruasi, Suntikan DMPA
