Abstract

Menstrual pain is a condition that bothers most women regardless of age, with the highest percentage being in their teens. Menstrual pain is categorized into mild, moderate, severe and very severe pain. Women who experience menstrual pain can interfere with their activities ranging from daily activities, school to work. One way to reduce menstrual pain non-pharmacologically is to use acupressure. This study aimed to determine the effect of acupressure on menstrual pain in adolescents. This was a literature Review with Systematic Mapping Study (Scoping Study) design. This study used journals published in the last 5 years. The ten journals used were obtained from the Google Schoolar, PubMed and Sciencedirect databases. The journals obtained had passed the selection based on the year of publication, the suitability of the title with keywords, the feasibility of the journal, the ability to access, duplication and inclusion criteria. The journal was then analyzed using the instrument of presenting the results of a literature review. The most widely used acupressure point was sanyinjiao (Sp 6) by pressing or massaging. The intensity of menstrual pain after being given acupressure was decreased, the average pain intensity decreased between before and after being given acupressure starting from a scale of 0.86 to 6.7. The results of the analysis of all journals show P value < a, which meant that there was a significant effect of giving acupressure on decreasing the intensity of menstrual pain in adolescents. Giving acupressure by pressing or massaging certain meridians can increase the levels of endorphins that are useful for reducing the intensity of menstrual pain in adolescents. Education about proper massage techniques will help reduce the level of pain that occurs during menstruation.

Abstract

Postpartum depression is a mental health problem experienced by mothers at 4 weeks after giving birth which is characterized by feelings of sadness, decreased mood, feelings of failure or guilt, and even suicidal ideation, one of which is due to lack of husband support. To analyze the incidence of postpartum depression, the provision of husband support, and the relationship between providing husband support to the incidence of postpartum depression. This study used a systematic review design by tracing journal articles through the database like as Proquest, Garuda Portal, PubMed, and Science Direct with the publication year from January 2012 - January 2022 and discussing husband support and the incidence of postpartum depression, and using Indonesian and English. The keywords used in national journal were "husband's support" and "postpartum depression" or "postpartum depression", for international journal articles used "spousal support" or "partner support" or "husband's support" and "postpartum depression. The results showed that 10 journal articles met the inclusion criteria with all journal articles stating that there was a relationship between husband support and the incidence of postpartum depression. Most postpartum mothers do not experience postpartum depression and receive husband's support. There was a relationship between providing husband's support and the incidence of postpartum depression, where the higher the husband's support, the lower postpartum depression that occurs in postpartum mothers. The results of the study found 10 journal articles that met the inclusion criteria with all journal articles stating that there was a relationship between the provision of husband support and the incidence of postpartum depression.

Abstract

Perineal trauma is a common complication in primigravida women during vaginal childbirth, leading to pain, infection, and psychological distress. Non-pharmacological methods like perineal massage and deep breathing techniques may help reduce such trauma. This study employed a true experimental posttest-only control group design, involving 62 primigravida women who were randomly divided into an intervention group (n=31) and a control group (n=31). Conducted in Malang Regency in July 2025, the intervention included perineal massage starting at 34 weeks of gestation, done twice a week for 10 minutes using lubricant, and deep breathing techniques during contractions and pushing. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. A significant difference was found between groups. The intervention group had a sum of ranks of 270.00, while the control group had 81.00 (p = 0.001), indicating a lower incidence of perineal trauma in the intervention group. Perineal massage combined with deep breathing techniques is a safe and effective non-pharmacological approach to reduce perineal trauma in primigravida women during childbirth.

Abstract

The high number of midwifery graduates and the limited job opportunities emphasized the need to develop entrepreneurial interest through innovative educational approaches such as the project-based learning method. The purpose of the studies was to analyze the effect of project-based learning experience on the entrepreneurial interest of student. A correlational quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was used. The sample consisted of 60 final-year students from the Applied Midwifery Study Program in Kediri, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the spearman rank correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between Project-Based Learning experience and entrepreneurial interest (p = 0.000; r = 0.721). The greater the students' project-based learning experience, the higher their entrepreneurial interest. Project-based learning experience had a strong and positive influence on the entrepreneurial interest of midwifery students. These results indicate that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method is effective in fostering students’ active, collaborative, and creative attitudes, which are essential components in developing entrepreneurial interest. This finding reinforces the evidence that project-based learning is a relevant strategy to prepare midwifery graduates to be more independent and adaptive in facing the challenges of the job market.

Abstract

Abstract Proper nutrition during pregnancy plays a vital role in maintaining stable blood glucose levels and preventing gestational diabetes. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between dietary patterns and blood glucose levels in pregnant women. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted over two months at Sukorame Public Health Center in Kediri City. A total of 45 pregnant women in their second and third trimesters were selected using consecutive sampling. Dietary intake was assessed using a 24-hour food recall method and compared with the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA). Blood glucose levels were measured two hours postprandially using a glucometer. The majority of participants had normal dietary intake and normal blood glucose levels. The Fisher-Freeman-Halton test revealed a statistically significant association between dietary patterns and blood glucose levels (p = 0.021), with a Cramér’s V value of 0.502, indicating a moderate strength of association. These findings underscore the importance of balanced energy intake in regulating blood glucose during pregnancy. Therefore, enhancing nutritional education for pregnant women is strongly recommended, and future research should consider additional variables such as body mass index (BMI), physical activity, and stress factors.
