Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini, dilakukan pada komunitas gay dan waria, jumlah Waria dan Gay yang berbagung serta berpatisipasi aktif dalam komunitas tersebut yaitu sebanyak 370 orang, terdiri dari 324 Waria (87,56%) dan 46 Gay (12,43%). Dimana anggota komunitas tersebut sebagian besar telah didiagnosa positif HIV. Namun kecenderungan perilaku berisiko seperti seks bebas, menimbulkan kekhawatiran di masyarakat karena bisa menularkan virus HIV, baik kepada sesama gay dan waria yang belum terinfeksi HIV, maupun patner seksual mereka. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan melalui Health Belief Model (HBM) berbasis Peer Group Learning untuk pencegahan penularan HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan, berupa ceramah, diskusi dan praktek. Jumlah peserta sebanyak 30 orang, kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan selama 2 hari, yang diberikan materi secara intraktif, dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perubahan sikap peserta. dibuktikan dengan perubahan signifikan antara perubahan tingkat pengetahuan hasil pretest pengetahuan tinggi 26,5% kemudian setelah post-test pengetahuan meningkat menjadi 91,2%. Sedangkan hasil pre-test sikap baik responden 15%, dan setelah post-test sikap baik meningkat signifikan menjadi 100%. Dengan demikian diharapkan dengan pengetahuan dan perubahan sikap yang dimiliki peserta, dapat mencegah sekaligus bisa m,enurunkan angka penularan kasus HIV di komunitas gay dan waria kelurahan pacara kembang, Surabaya.

Abstract

Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes social transformations that can shake the existence of individuals and families so that they become vulnerable or have the potential to not have Family Immunity. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze differences in family immunity in preventing the spread of infection in healthy and confirmed families of COVID-19. Methods: A case control research design to compare two groups regarding family immunity to the prevention of COVID-19 infection, which was carried out in the city of Surabaya, Indonesia in August 2021 – March 2022. A total of 104 respondents were recruited using convenience sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 21 with Chi Square test. Results: Family immunity shows better results in healthy families with 43.3% better family belief system status, 28.8% good organizational patterns, 38.5% better communication process and 36.5% better Controlling the spread of infectious disease. The results of the significance test showed that all P values 0.05 and calculated X2 results > X2, it can be concluded that all indicators are related to family COVID-19 status and can explain the family immunity variable. Conclusion: Family immunity in the healthy family group and the confirmed COVID-19 group showed different results, families with healthy conditions had much better family immunity than families who had confirmed COVID-19.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of family empowerment on the ability to detect early and prevent stunting. Methods: A quasy experiment study with two groups consisting of 66 respondents was recruited using purposive sampling. The family empowerment instrument uses the media module and the ability for early detection is measured using the The Stunting Tool for Early Prevention questionnaire and prevention behavior is measured using stunting prevention behavior. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank and Mann Whitney Tests. The results showed that the ability of early detection and stunting prevention behavior showed an increase in the intervention group with good category (22.41 to 79.48 and 23.87 to 81.35, respectively). Results: The results of the significance test showed that family empowerment had a significant effect on early detection ability (p = 0.001) and stunting prevention behavior (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Early detection ability and stunting prevention behavior can be improved through family empowerment that specifically focuses on growth, nutritional status, knowledge, additional supplements, hygiene and discipline in posyandu activities

Abstract

Background :The aging process is a natural process accompanied by a decrease in physical condition with a visible decrease in the function of the body's organs. An increase in one's age will be accompanied by various physical, psychological and social setbacks. Depression is a common illness worldwide and more than 300 million people are affected by it. Depression is different from ordinary mood fluctuations and short-term emotional responses to challenges in everyday life. Elderly depression has an impact including shortening life expectancy by exacerbating physical decline in the elderly, hindering the fulfillment of elderly developmental tasks, reducing the quality of life of the elderly, emotionally and financially draining the affected person as well as their family and social support systems. Method The design used in this study is descriptive with a case study approach. Analysis: The unit of analysis in this case study is an individual, namely the elderly who experience depression at the Hargodedali Nursing Home, Surabaya. Results and Discussion: The results were obtained before classical music therapy was carried out on the first day, the first respondent's level of depression was at a mild level, while the respondents both are at moderate level. After doing classical music therapy for three times, the first and second responders experienced a decrease which was at the level of not being depressed and mild. Abstract

Peristiwa bencana alam bisa terjadi kapan saja, terutama daerah tertentu yang sudah diketahui memiliki risiko bencana alam. Sekolah SD Muhammadiyah 9 Bahari Surabaya terletak di wilayah pesisir yang rawan mengalami banjir dan tsunami. Selain itu rendahnya kesiapsiagaan siswa, dan belum optimalnya penerapan prinsip Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) di sekolah menjadi masalah utama yang perlu diatasi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan self-efficacy siswa terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana melalui alat virtual reality (VR). Metodologi Kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan Juli–Agustus 2025 dengan melibatkan 30 siswa SD Muhammadiyah 9 Bahari Surabaya. Rangkaian kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, penyuluhan, pelatihan, praktik simulasi menggunakan VR, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan self-efficacy siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pengetahuan dan self-efficacy. Sebelum intervensi, mayoritas siswa berada pada kategori pengetahuan rendah (66,7%) dan self-efficacy rendah (70%). Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan, pengetahuan siswa meningkat pada kategori tinggi (80%) dan self-efficacy tinggi mencapai (76,7%). Penggunaan media Virtual Reality dalam edukasi kebencanaan dan K3 terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan self-efficacy siswa, sekaligus membentuk sikap tanggap darurat dan budaya aman sejak dini.

Abstract

Abstrak: Asia tenggara ditetapkan sebagai salah satu wilayah dengan beban resistensi antibiotik yang perlu mendapat perhatian. Prevalensi resistensi dipicu oleh kebutuhan antibiotik yang cukup tinggi disertai penggunaannya yang tidak rasional. Tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan penyuluhan terkait antibiotik dan cara penggunaannya secara rasional, serta dampak resistensi antibiotik agar pengetahuan dan sikap terkait penggunaan antibiotik pada komunitas pekerja migran Indonesia di Kuala Lumpur meningkat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penyuluhan kesehatan dan diskusi interaktif. Kegiatan ini sebagai manifestasi dari kolaborasi dengan MSU dan PCIA Kuala Lumpur yang dilaksanakan di Sekretariat PRIM dan PRIA di Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sejumlah 20 orang pekerja migran menjadi peserta dalam kegiatan ini dengan rata-rata tingkat pendidikannya sampai jenjang SMP dan maksimal jenjang SMA. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner yang mencakup sikap dan pengetahuan responden terkait materi penyuluhan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan penyuluhan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan (35% menjadi 65%) dan sikap (47% menjadi 53%) dalam upaya pencegahan resistensi antibiotik. Penyuluhan kesehatan dengan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap komunitas pekerja migran Indonesia di Kuala Lumpur untuk pencegahan resistensi antibiotik. Kegiatan ini dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman responden tentang penggunaan antibiotik secara rasional dan pencegahan resistensi. Abstract: Southeast Asia is designated as one of the regions with the burden of antibiotic resistance that urgently needs attention. The prevalence of resistance is triggered by the high need for antibiotics and their irrational use. The purpose of this community service program is to provide social counseling regarding antibiotics and how to use them rationally, and the impact of antibiotic resistance so that knowledge and attitudes related to antibiotic use in the community of Indonesian migrant workers in Kuala Lumpur will be increased. Community service activities are carried out through health counseling and interactive discussions. This activity was a manifestation of collaboration with MSU and PCIA Kuala Lumpur which was implemented at the PRIM and PRIA Secretariat in Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A total of 20 migrant workers participated in this activity with an average level of education up to junior high school level and a maximum of high school level. Evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire which captures the respondents' attitudes and knowledge related to the counseling material. The results showed that the counseling activities succeeded in increasing knowledge (35% to 65%) and attitudes (47% to 53%) in order to prevent antibiotic resistance. Health counseling by utilizing learning media proved to be effective in improving the knowledge and attitude of the Indonesian migrant worker community in Kuala Lumpur for the prevention of antibiotic resistance. This activity can provide a positive impact on respondents' understanding of the rational use of antibiotics and prevention of resistance.
