In the ever-changing world today, improving students’ literacy skills has become urgently needed. However, in reality most students still lack of interest in literacy. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid and practical Science Process Skills (SPS) – oriented learning material on Global Warming that is suitable for VII grade in secondary school. This research and development (R&D) study used ADDIE model, which consists of five steps namely: Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation. A set of questionnaires to test validity was distributed to three validators and another set of questionnaires to test practicality was distributed to seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang in the academic year of 2019/2020. The result shows that the developed learning material is valid and highly practical to be used in secondary school science lesson. Moreover, this learning materials helped stimulate students’ scientific literacy skills in understanding the lessons.

This research was conducted to determine the validity and practicality of the worksheets teaching materials. Based on the analysis of the activities in science learning, it was found that students were still less active in the learning process and lacked confidence in giving opinions during the ongoing learning process. One attempt which can be done to address this problem is by developing students' worksheet which can encourage students to be more active in learning. One approach we can use to develop students worksheet is using the Argument-Driven Inquiry Model, which emphasize on students' confidence in presenting their own argument in class. This development research employed three stages of the 4-D model, which consists of four stages namely define, design, develop and disseminate, Disseminate stage could not be done due to several considerations related to time constraint and expenses. The research instrument used were a validity and practicality questionnaire. This students worksheet was validated by 3 validators and tested for practicality on 5 grade VII students. The results showed that the developed students worksheet compiled and developed was very valid with a score of 80.02% and practicality by teachers of 90.29 and 90.88 at the category of very high. Therefore, this student worksheet can be implemented in learning. However, we would like to recommend for further research with regard to the Argument-Driven Inquiry so that the research is more valid.

The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D model. At the dissemination stage it was not carried out due to time and cost limitations. The instruments used in this study were validation questionnaire sheets, practicality questionnaires. The resulting LKPD was validated by 3 expert validators, namely Science Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNP lecturers using an instrument in the form of a validity questionnaire. The practicality test was carried out by 3 science teachers at SMP N 6 Padang using an instrument in the form of a practicality questionnaire. From the research results obtained the following results: (1) Science-based LKPD Science-based on environmental pollution material at SMPN 6 Padang class VII developed valid, with a validity test value of 79.92. (2) LKPD IPA based on the scientific approach on environmental pollution material at SMPN 6 Padang class VII which was developed practically, with the practicality test value by the teacher in the very practical category with a value of 96.

This study aims to develop a shared-type integrated e-module with theme “Motion of objects and living things in our environment” for secondary school science lesson. Plomp model is used in this Research and Development study, which consist of three stages namely: preliminary research, prototype stage, and assessment stage. A set of questionnaires was prepared to test validity and practicality of product. Validity test was conducted involving three lecturers from Science Education department, and practicality test was conducted involving 9 students and 3 science teachers at SMPN 1 Kampar. The results of the validity test gave the value of 89.79% which belongs to highly valid category, practicality test with students gave the value of 90.74% and with teacher 93.75% which belong to highly practical.

This research is motivated by the limited availability of integrated science teaching materials according to the demands of the 2013 curriculum and learning is not yet based on ethnoscience. This study aims to develop an ethnoscience-based integrated science e-module on the topic of human excretory system that is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using a-4D model with four stages, namely: define, design, develop and disseminate. The validity and practicality test instruments were in the form of a questionnaire with product validators from three science education lecturers, while the practicality test was carried out by 2 science teachers and 26 junior high school students in class VIII. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the validity and practicality of the product were obtained with an average validity of 87.36 with a very valid category. The average value of the practice of using integrated science e-modules according to teachers and students is 92.96 and 86.89, each in the very practical category. So it can be concluded that the shared-type integrated science e-module based on ethnoscience on the human excretory system material is valid and practical to use.

The purpose of the research is to produce the development e-module integrated natural sciences type of shared based on problem-based learning on interaction of living things with the environment matrials. This research uses research and development with 4-D models. 4-D models consist of several stages namely define, design, develop, and disseminate but this research is only limited to the develop stages. The result of the analysis of this research data obtained validity value with a percentage of 93% with a “very valid” category. Result of practicality data analysis by the teachers with a percentage of 89% with a “very practical” category, and result of practicality data analysis by students with a percentage 94% with a “very practical” category. The conclusion of this research is the development of shared type based on problem based learning on the topic of the interaction of living things with the environment is valid and practical.

This study aims to determine the improvement of students in class VIII learning outcomes in Junior High School 1 Koto Kampar Hulu through the implementation of the practicum method. The type of this research was a quasi-experiment with the research design post-test only control group design. Data collection was conducted using the multiple-choice test. Data collection was analyzed using inferential statistics to obtain average scores of student learning outcomes in the control class of 67.14 and experiment class 77.86. Hypothesis testing uses the t-test, and the results show that the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted which indicates that there is an effect on the implementation of practicum methods, with an effect size value of 0.84 with a large category indicating that there is a major influence. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that learning science using the practicum method can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII at Junior High School 1 Koto Kampar Hulu

This research was inisiated by the low test results of students in various schools, especially SMPN 40 Padang, which was caused by the application of a learning model that was not suitable for the students' conditions. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Guided Inquiry learning model on learning outcomes of the human digestive system in class VIII students of SMPN 40 Padang. The research design was a quasi-experimental and posttest only non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 40 Padang consisting of 5 classes with a total of 427 students. The sample for this study used a random sampling technique, so that the selected sample was class VIII3 as the experimental class and class VIII4 as the control class. Data collection used cognitive learning outcomes tests, objective questions and psychomotor assessment sheets that had been validated previously. The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes in the experimental class was 58.8 higher than the control class, which was 42. The results of the hypothesis test used the t-test with tcount (4.670) > ttable (1.677) at a significant level of 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha accepted. Based on these results, the application of the Guided Inquiry learning model has positive effect on students learning outcomes on the topic of digestive system at SMPN 40 Padang.
