Abstract

The Covid-19 vaccination program is currently being discussed as a strategic effort in resolving the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Positive news related to the Covid-19 vaccination program currently dominates media coverage, one of which is the online Kompas.com. This study aims to reveal the textual strategy and packaging of the Covid-19 vaccine news text in representing the dominant discourse, using Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model through analysis of the dimensions of the text structure. This study uses a qualitative method with a critical paradigm. The critical paradigm is used to see how the media here creates a certain way of thinking or discourse that is dominant and considered correct, so that it becomes an idea that is accepted as common sense by the community. The data used in this study were in the form of news on the Covid-19 vaccine on online, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the news of the Covid-19 vaccine on Kompas.com as a whole supports a positive view of the Covid-19 vaccination program through language strategies which include information control, diction selection, message packaging and various other efforts to support the construction of reality developed by the media.

Abstract

Solok City Public Relations utilizes social media in carrying out its duties to support government work programs. The city of Solok has the slogan "Kota Beras Serambi Madinah" which reflects the vision and mission of the city of Solok in the context of the work program of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. This study was conducted to analyze the use of social media by Public Relations of Solok City in realizing “Kota Beras Serambi Madinah” using Media Richness Theory by Richard L. Daft and Robert H. Lengel. This study uses a qualitative method, constructivist paradigm with a case study approach. Informants were determined by purposive sampling technique, conducted in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, data analysis and data validation. The results of the study found that Solok City Public Relations tried to use all the wealth of social media to realize the goals that have been set. One type of social media has two different accounts (profiles) with different language variations and signs to reach more audiences, anticipate the rapid exchange of information on social media and promote the Solok City Public Relations website. The ability of social media to show feelings and emotions is used by the Public Relations of Solok City to instill the values contained in the slogan " Kota Beras Serambi Madinah"

Abstract

Connection interpersonal communication or between personal is communication carried out for understand how individual other act. On for example is communication carried out in a SAR operations between Member Basarnas with Public on moment happening disaster nature. Communication this really important to achieve maximum results in rescue victim disaster nature. Destination study this is for knowing experience verbal and nonverbal communication public relations Basarnas to community, for knowing emerging concepts Jambi Basarnas about experience communication organization public relations in increase quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas, to knowing meaning  Jambi Basarnas about experience communication organization public relations in increase quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas. Methodology in study this is through approach qualitative with studies phenomenology. Research data obtained through Interview deep and informant totaling 3 people. Based on analysis carried out on Interview deep experience public relations verbal communication in give quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas found in study is vocabulary (use of language), racing (speed), short and clear as well as intonation. Experience public relations nonverbal communication in give quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas found in study is gestural message, touch, guard distance and motion cue. Concepts raised about experience communication organization public relations in increase quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas were found in study is attitude positive, open, attitude support, equality and empathy. Meaning experience communication organization public relations in increase quality service SAR operations at the Jambi Basarnas were found in study is integrity, loyalty, competent, consistency and openness

Abstract

Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (IACS) that displays Indonesian arts, and culture is a program which is held by the Directorate of Public Diplomacy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This program was conducted face-to-face from 2003 to 2019. Through this program, a good opportunity is certainly obtained by Indonesia state to spread Indonesia cultural values. This research analyzes how Instagram can play an important role in promoting the 2019 IACS program so that, the general public can know about this program. This research was being analyzed by using Circuit of Culture model, and specified in Production moment. By analyzing Instagram, we can find out how the account is managed, and the content shared by the committee of IACS 2019. Data were taken based on interview, and social media. The results are MoFA doesn’t use Instagram @iacs_kemlu well. This can be seen from the minimal upload of documentation of the participants, and MoFA is not carrying out the monitoring function regarding the inactive @bsbi_pdg Instagram account. Besides that, on Instagram @iacs.banyuwangi, Instagram management is very lacking. It can be seen from @iacs.banyuwangi Instagram account page.

Abstract

Pelanggaran kode etik penyelenggara pemilu mengalami peningkatan yang sangat signifikan dari periode pemilu sebelumnya. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari jumlah anggota KPU Kabupaten/Kota se Provinsi Sumatera Barat yang diberhentikan oleh DKPP selama pelaksanaan pemilu tahun 2014 dan pemilihan kepela daerah tahun 2015. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan proses terjadinya pelanggaran kode etik berat tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan mengikuti model penelitian studi kasus. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa pelanggaran kode etik oleh lima orang anggota KPU kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Sumatera Barat dilakukan karena ada kejadian – kejadian khusus dalam pelaksanaan tahapan pemilu atau pilkada. Kejadian-kejadian khusus tersebut tidak sesuai dengan ketentuan peraturan tentang pemilu atau pilkada. Penelitian ini juga menggambarkan bahwasanya tindakan pelanggaran kode etik yang dilakukan oleh anggota KPU Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Sumatera Barat dikarenakan pengetahuan tentang kepemiluan.

Abstract

Kehadiran internet memberikan alternatif bagi setiap individu untuk mencari pasangan hidup (jodoh) tanpa harus bertatap muka. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pergeseran makna yang terjadi dalam proses ta’aruf yang dijalani oleh pria dan wanita yang sudah menikah serta individu yang sedang menjalani ta’aruf. Penelitian kualitatif ini fokus untuk menggali tahapan hubungan komunikasi interpersonal dalam proses ta’aruf melalui analisis data Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Informan penelitian ini terdiri dari tujuh orang, yaitu tiga pasangan yang sudah menikah melalui proses ta’aruf dan satu orang yang sedang menjalani proses ta’aruf di Kota Padang. Informan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa tahapan dalam proses ta'aruf klasik, antara lain perkenalan, konfirmasi, penjajakan, pertemuan keluarga dan menetapkan hari pernikahan. Tahapan ta'aruf klasik ini bertransformasi dikarenakan konsekuensi teknologi komunikasi. Ta’aruf sudah bisa dilakukan melalui teman, orang tua, saudara maupun media sosial. Ta'aruf online membuat terjadinya pergeseran makna ta'aruf, di mana kesakralan sebuah proses ta’aruf sudah diartikan berbeda walaupun esensinya sama. Saat ini, keseriusan individu dalam menjalani ta’aruf tidak murni karena Allah, melainkan menjadi lifestyle dan sudah menjadi konsumsi publik bahkan kamuflase. The presence of the internet provides an alternative for each individual to find a life partner (mate) without having to meet face to face. This study aims to analyze the shifting of meaning  in the ta'aruf process carried out by married couples and individuals undergoing ta'aruf. This qualitative research focused on exploring the stages of interpersonal communication in ta'aruf using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The informants of this study consisted of seven people, of which three couples were married through the ta'aruf process and one person who was undergoing the ta'aruf process in Padang. Informants were selected by the purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicated that the stages in the classical ta'aruf process includes an introduction, confirmation, exploration, family gatherings, and setting a wedding day. This classical ta'aruf stage transforms due to the impact of communication technology. Ta'aruf can be done through friends, parents, siblings, and social media. Online ta'aruf makes a shift in the meaning of ta'aruf, where the sacredness of a ta'aruf process has been interpreted differently, although the essence stays the same. At present, the seriousness of individuals in carrying out ta'aruf is not purely due to Allah, but ta’aruf has become a lifestyle, public consumption, and even camouflage.

Abstract

The increase in tourists which is the main driver of the tourism sector requires the cooperation of all stakeholders consisting of the government and direct cooperation from both the business world and from the private sector. The increase in tourist visits is certainly inseparable from communication activities between actor’s manager of the Puncak Pato tourist area and the government. This communication is important to achieve maximum results in increasing tourist visits to Puncak Pato. The research method used is a phenomenological approach with a constructivism paradigm. The theory used is the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis theory from Jonathan Smith. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the important concept of communication between managers of the Puncak Pato tourist destination is openness in conveying correct information to the government, an attitude of supporting the government in communication activities and carrying out communication activities with the government in the form of meetings.

Abstract

This study discusses the communication carried out by the Library Service and the Tourism Office which were carried out at the same time, with the same goal, namely saving the ancient manuscripts of surau Latiah in Solok City, and not knowing each other that there was a multiplicity of activities. The purpose of the article is to find out the communication experiences and the most meaningful concepts from the communication experiences of the two agencies. The research method is a qualitative Husserl phenomenological approach with a constructivism paradigm. Data obtained from observations, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the communication experience carried out by the two agencies is different. The most meaningful concept from the communication experience of the two agencies is effective communication in the form of persuasive communication that is influenced by other people who are considered important and carried out by means of verbal and non-verbal communication so that there is a change in the attitude of the owner of the manuscript so that he wants to submit the ancient manuscript of Surau Latiah.

Abstract

Konvergensi media merupakan fenomena yang signifikan dalam era digital, di mana berbagai platform media konvensional dan digital bergabung untuk memberikan konten secara lintas platform. Penelitian ini akan fokus pada pengalaman jurnalis media online Tribun Padang dalam memahami dan mengadaptasi konvergensi media dalam pekerjaan mereka. Metodologi penelitian ini didasarkan pada fenomenologi pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dan observasi sebagai teknik utama pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan wawasan yang lebih baik tentang sejauh mana jurnalis media online memahami dan menerapkan konvergensi media dalam pekerjaan mereka. Temuan penelitian ini dapat memberikan informasi yang berharga bagi praktisi media, lembaga pendidikan, dan pengambil kebijakan dalam mengembangkan strategi yang lebih efektif untuk menghadapi tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi dalam era konvergensi media. Penelitian ini juga akan membahas implikasi dari pemahaman jurnalis media online tentang konvergensi media terhadap kualitas dan keragaman konten media. Dengan memahami konvergensi media dengan lebih baik, jurnalis dapat menggabungkan pendekatan konvensional dan digital dalam melaporkan berita dan menciptakan konten yang lebih inovatif, informatif, dan berdampak.

Abstract

Buzzer merupakan istilah yang dewasa ini mudah dikenali oleh siapa saja. Kehadiran buzzer tidak terlepas dari penggunaan gawai di kalangan masyarakat atau yang dikenal dengan netizen. Aktivitas netizen di new media atau internet menyebabkan buzzer menjadi fenomena yang terus ada dan berkembang saat ini. Apa yang dilakukan buzzer semula hanya sebagai bagian dari promosi atau pemasaran produk oleh perusahaan-perusahaan jasa atau barang. Namun hal itu berubah seiring kontestasi politik tanah air. Berbagai platform media sosial digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan ataupun postingan. Penggunaan platform media sosial pun menjadi ruang publik untuk menyampaikan pendapat ataupun komentar sesuai kapasitas warganet itu sendiri. Kapasitas dan latar belakang yang berbeda menimbulkan keriuhan di jagat maya. Tidak jarang sampai menimbulkan konflik. Hal ini tidak lain karena percakapan tersebut mampu mengubah pandangan masyarakat atau opini publik. Besarnya pengaruh pesan yang disampaikan oleh buzzer dalam mengubah opini publik membuatnya layak untuk diteliti. Konstruksi pesan dalam pembentukan opini publik pada dasarnya telah dirancang sedemikian rupa untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Khususnya di dunia politik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Dari penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa konstruksi pesan yang dibuat oleh buzzer mampu untuk mengubah pandangan ataupun opini publik terhadap suatu hal ataupun narasi yang ada di tengah masyarakat
