Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh volume media tanam dan frekuensi pemberian pupuk NPK yang optimum untuk pertumbuhan dan produksi stroberi di dataran menengah (+600 m di atas permukaan laut). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 04 Maret sampai 28 September 2013 di Kebun Percobaan SDN Kebon Kawung, Desa Nanggerang, Kecamatan Cicurug - Sukabumi, sedangkan untuk analisis laboratorium di Laboratorium Pusat Kajian Hortikultura Tropika Institut Pertanian Bogor (PKHT – IPB) - Bogor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor yaitu volume media tanam dan frekuensi pemberian pupuk. Media tanam yang digunakan adalah campuran tanah, pupuk kandang dan arang sekam (3:1:1) yang terdiri atas tiga volume yaitu 3 liter, 5 liter dan 7 liter. Pupuk yang digunakan merupakan pupuk majemuk yaitu NPK (16:16:16) dengan frekuensi pemberian dua kali, tiga kali dan empat kali. Dosis pupuk NPK (16:16:16) yang digunakan adalah 12g/ tanaman. Penggunaan media tanam dengan volume 7 liter menghasilkan jumlah stolon lebih banyak dan lebih panjang dibandingkan media tanam bervolume 3 liter. Frekuensi pemupukan dengan empat kali menghasilkan tajuk lebih tinggi dibandingkan dua kali pemupukan. Volume media tanam dan frekuensi pemberian pupuk berbeda, tidak mempengaruhi peubah tinggi crown, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah bunga, jumlah buah dan persentase fruitset. Stroberi yang dihasilkan mengandung PTT (padatan terlarut total) sekitar 6-11o Brix, ATT (asam terlarut total) sekitar 0,032 - 0,052 ml/10 g dan kandungan provitamin C berkisar antara 0,026-0,040 ml/10g.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh komposisi pupuk kalium dan tahapan pemupukan kalium serta interaksi antara keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi, dan daya simpan kacang panjang (Vigna sesquipedalis (L.) Fruwh.) Kultivar KP-1. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Agustus 2009, bertempat di kebun percobaan Jurusan Agroteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Djuanda Bogor.Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama berupa komposisi pupuk kalium (A) yang terdiri atas lima taraf, yaitu 2,4 g KCl + 0 ml kalium organik cair/tanaman (A0), 1,8 g KCl + 1,7 ml kalium organik cair/tanaman (A1), 1,2 g KCl + 3,4 ml kalium organik cair/ tanaman (A2), 0,6 g KCl + 5,2ml kalium organik cair/tanaman (A3), dan 0 g KCl + 6,9 kalium organik/tanaman (A4). Faktor kedua berupa tahapan pemberian pupuk kalium yang terdiri dari tiga taraf, yaitu B1 dengan 1x pemberian pada 1 minggu setelah tanam (MST), B2 dengan 2x pemberian pada 1MST dan 5MST; dan B3 dengan 4x pemberian pada 1, 3, 5, dan 7MST.Perlakuan komposisi pupuk kalium hanya berpengaruh terhadap banyak buah pada panen ke-5, perlakuan tahapan pemupukan kalium berpengaruh terhadap panjang buah (panen ke-12), bobot buah (panen ke-11), dan penyusutan bobot buah (4 HSS), serta interaksi antara keduanya berpengaruh terhadap banyak daun (9, 11, 12 MST) dan banyak kuncup bunga (10 MST). Tinggi tanaman, banyak buah tanaman, banyak kuncup bunga,dan banyak bunga mekar tidak dipengaruhi oleh komposisi pupuk kalium, tahapan pemupukan kalium, dan interaksi antara keduanya.

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the effects of shade (paranet) on the growth and production of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus).  The study was conducted from April to September 2016 at the Agrotechnology Trial Farm of Djuanda University, Bogor.  A split plot completely randomized design was used with shade levels, namely 0 (no shade), 25, 50, and 75% as the main plot and places of origin, namely Bogor, Cianjur, and Sukabumi as the sub plot.  Results showed that 50 and 75% shades at 8 weeks after planting (WAP) significantly decreased plant height, leave length, stem diameter, harvest fresh weight and harvest dry weight.  Leaf width of kenikir was found to be higher.  Number of leaves of kenikir of Sukabumi and Cianjur origins was higher than that of Bogor origin.  Chlorophyl content of kenikir of Cianjur origin was higher than that of Sukabumi and Bogor origins.  However, biomass yield harvested from all acessions was not different.  Key words: chlorophyl content, plant origin, harvest yield.

Abstract

The study was aimed at assesing the effects of the aplication of organic and syntheticfertilizer on the growth and production of soybean. Four levels of organic fertilizer, namely noorganic fertilizer (0 ton ha -1), 0,5 x recomended rate (10 ton ha -1), 1 x recomended rate (20 tonha -1) and 1,5 recomended rate (30 ton ha -1). The second factor was sinthetic fertilizer in fourlevels, namely no synthetic (0 ton ha -1), 0,5 x recomended rate (Urea 75 kg ha -1, SP-36 75 kg ha -1, KCl 50 kg ha -1), 1 x recomended (Urea 150 kg ha -1, SP-36 150 kg ha -1, KCl 100 kg ha -1), and1,5 x recomende (Urea 225 kg ha -1, SP-36 225 kg ha -1, KCl 150 kg ha -1). Result show that theaplication of both organic and synthetic fertilizer gave significant effect on plant height, number ofleaves, number of flowers, number of branches, leaf widht, number of total pods, number of pods containing 1, 2 and 3 seeds, fresh and dry weight of pods, fresh weight of roots, number of nodes,fresh weight of nodes, and fresh and dry weight of canopy. Interaction effect of organic andsynthetic fertilizer were found on dry weight of root, dry weight of nodes and dry weight ofbiomass.Keywords: edamame, organic fertilizer, synthetic fertilizer, pods

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the growth and production of celery plants grown with various compositions of N,P and K fertilizer and compost. The study was done at the Trial Farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor fiom September to November 2015. A completely randomized design with two factors was used. The factors consisted of compost rate and N,P and K fertilizer rate. Compost was given in four levels, namely no compost (0% R), 26.3% gcompost/plant (50% R), 52.5 g compost/plant (100% R), and 78.7 g compost/plant (150% R). N, P and K fertilizer was given in five levels, namely no fertilizer (0% R), 4 g Urea, 0.3 g SP-36, 0.2 g KCl (25% R), 0.9 g Urea, 0.6 g SP-36, 0.4 g KCI (50% R), 1.3 g Urea, 0.8 g SP-36, 0.6 g KCl (75% R), and 1.7 g Urea, 1.1 g SP-36, 0.8 g KCl (100% R). All fertilizers were administered gradually at the time of planting and 2 weeks after planting. Three replicates were allocated into each treatment making up 60 experimental units. Results showed that celery plants given synthetic fertilizer at 100% R had higher plant height, number of leaves, number of seedlings, harvest fresh weight (g), saleable fresh weight (g), root biomass (g), and root dry weight (g) than those treated with no fertilizer (0% R). Plants treated with 150% compost had higher plant height, number of leaves, harvest fresh weight (g), saleable fresh weight (g), root length (cm), and root dry weight (g) than those treated with no fertilizer (0% R). Thus the best celery growth and production in this study was obtained on plant 150% R compost   and 100% R synthetic fertilizer nourished.Key words: celery, compost, N, P, K fertilizer, harvest flesh weight

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the effects of shade on the growth, productivity of indigenous vegetables pohpohan and reundeu.   A split-plot design was used.  The main plot was shade treatments consisting of four levels, namely 0% (no shade), 25%,  50%, and 75%.  The subordinate plot was the seed origins, namely Sukabumi, Cianjur, and Bogor.  The arrangement of the main and sub plots was done based on a completely randomized design.  Results showed that  in pohpohan increased plant height was found in 50% shade treatment, while leaf length and width was found to be increased in shade treatment up to 75%.  Leaf length and width of pohpohan plants of Bogor origin were higher than those of pohpohan plants of Cianjur and Sukabumi origins. In reundeu plants, no effects of shade treatments were found in all variables measured.  Reundeu plants of Bogor and Cianjur origin were found to be superior in plant height, leaves number, length, and width, and fresh and dry  weight. Pohpohan plants were potential to be grown under shades.    Key words: seed origin, plant height, pohpohan, reundeu, Bogor

Abstract

Pitcher Plant {Nepenthes mirabilis (Lour.) Druce} Growth in Different Compositions of Planting Medium and Level of ShadingABSTRACTThis research aimed to determine the effects of various compositions of planting medium and level of shading on the vegetative growth of the pitcher plant (Nepenthes mirabilis (Lour.) Druce). The experiments were arranged in a split plot arrangement on randomized blok design. The main plot was paranet shading (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%), and the sub-plots were planting medium compositions (cocopeat : rice husk charcoal (1:0) (1:0), cocopeat : rice husk charcoal (0:1) (0:1), cocopeat : rice husk charcoal (1:1) (1:1), cocopeat : rice husk charcoal (1:2) (1:2), cocopeat : rice husk charcoal (2:1) (2:1)). Increased shading levels from 0% to 75% caused N. mirabilis plants to be shorter and rosetted, with larger leaf surface area and more leaves and pitchers, but with smaller-sized pitcher. Nepenthes mirabilis which were planted in 1:1 medium showed have more leaves, and pitchers, larger pitchers, greater leaf surface area and longer roots, compared with those planted in 1:2 medium. However, the number of leaves and root length of plants in 1:1 medium was not significantly different to those in 1:0 and 2:1 medium. Pitcher size of N. mirabilis  planted in 1:1 medium was not significantly different to those planted in 1:0 and 0:1 medium. The number of pitchers and leaf area of N. mirabilis planted in 1:1 medium was not significantly different to those planted in 0:1 and 2:1 medium. The pH level of 1:0 medium was lower than 0:1 medium at different levels of shading.Key words : Nepenthes mirabilis (Lour.) Druce. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola petak terpisah (split plot design). Petak utama adalah naungan paranet (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%), sebagai anak petak adalah kombinasi media cocopeat dan arang sekam dengan perbandingan 1:0, 0:1, 1:1, 1:2 dan 2:1. Pertambahan tingkat naungan dari 0% ke 75% menyebabkan pertumbuhan tanaman N. mirabilis lebih pendek dan berbentuk roset dengan luas daun lebih besar, jumlah daun dan kantong lebih banyak tetapi ukuran kantong lebih kecil. Nepenthes mirabilis yang ditanam pada komposisi media 1:1 menunjukan jumlah daun, jumlah kantong, ukuran kantong, luas daun dan panjang akar yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang ditanam pada komposisi media1:2, walaupun demikian jumlah daun dan panjang akar pada 1:1 tidak berbeda nyata dengan yang ditanam pada 1:0 dan 2:1, ukuran kantong N. mirabilis yang ditanam pada media 1:1 tidak berbeda nyata dengan yang ditanam pada media 1:0 dan 0:1, jumlah kantong dan luas daun N. mirabilis yang ditanam pada media 1:1 tidak berbeda nyata dengan yang ditanam pada 0:1 dan 2:1. Tingkat kemasaman (pH) pada media tanam 1:0 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan pH media tanam 0:1 pada berbagai tingkat naungan.Kata kunci: Nepenthes mirabilis (Lour.) Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi shellac yang tepat dalam mempertahankan karakter kualitas buah manggis selama penyimpanan pada suhu rendah (12oC) dan suhu ruang (28-29oC). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah acak lengkap tersarang, dengan konsentrasi shellac (0%, 25%, 33.3% dan 50%) tersarang di dalam suhu (12oC dan 28-29oC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan pada suhu 12oC lebih baik dibandingkan dengan suhu ruang (28-29oC) dalam mempertahankan bobot, diameter, warna sepal (nilai L, a dan b), warna kulit (nilai a dan b) dan kandungan PTT. Pada suhu 12oC penggunaan shellac 50% pada buah manggis mampu mempertahankan diameter dan shellac 25% mampu mempertahankan warna kulit buah ( nilai L, a dan b). Pada suhu 28-29oC shellac 50% mampu mempertahankan diameter, warna sepal (nilai L) dan PTT, shellac 33,3% mampu mempertahankan warna kulit buah (nilai L) dan shellac 25% mampu mempertahankan warna sepal (nilai L) dan PTT.

Abstract

Magetan Regency was the production centre of pummelo that have many accessions  with various morphological and chemical characteristics, but only a few of them were identificated. This study was aimed at identifying morphological and chemical characteristics of pummelo fruits in Magetan Regency.  The study was conducted in the Biology Laboratory of Djuanda University, Bogor from May to July 2015.  Results showed with regard to their morphological characteristic, pomelo plants in this region were found to have spheroid and spheroid-pyriform fruits and the weight of their fruit parts, fruit core width, mesocarp thickness, fruit circle before peeling, fruit circle after peeling, number of fruit segments, number of developed seeds, and edible parts of the fruit were varied.  Chemical characteristics were also found to be varied with vitamin C content of 29.80−44.66 mg/100g, total soluble solids (TSS) content of 8.10−9.72°Brix, total titratable acidity (TAA) of 0.31−0.53 g/100 ml, and TSS/ TAA ratio of 17.69−28.58. Key words: production centre of pummelo, spheroid, vitamin C, TSS

Abstract

Pummelo plants in Magetan Regency were found to spread over several villages and their accessions have their own morphological and chemical characteristics.  This study was aimed at assessing the distribution and the number of pummelo accessions in Magetan Regency.  The study was conducted in Magetan Regency East Java from May to July 2015.  Observation was conducted on distribution marking and accession characteristics by using a survey method.  Results showed that the accessions of pummelo plants grown by farmers in Tambak Mas Village were varied but they were not evenly distributed.  Meanwhile, pummelo plants grown by farmers in Dukuh Village had uniform accessions with uneven distribution.  Results of  field observation obtained 13 pummelo accesions, namely Adas Duku, Adas Nambangan, Bali Putih, Bali Merah 1, Bali Merah 2, Gulung 1, Gulung 2, Gulung 3, Magetan, Jawa 1, Jawa 2, Jawa 3, dan Sri Nyonya.  The most commonly pummelo accessions found in Tambak Mas Village were Adas Nambangan and Adas Duku.  Meanwhile the most accessions planted in Bendo Village were Adas Duku and Sri Nyonya. Key words: pummelo, Adas Nambangan, Tambak Mas, Dukuh, survey method
