AbstractIn this paper the language about Millennial Generation Information Search Behavior To Meet Information Needs. This study aims to describe the information seeking behavior of the millennial generation to meet the information needs of this study at the Padang State University. Data were collected through observation and distribution of questionnaires with students of the Indonesian and Regional Languages and Literature Department at Padang State University. Analyzing the data, concluded the following matters. (1). Starting - consists of activities that initiate information seeking activities. In general (100%) determine the topic especially before conducting an information search, in general (90%) conduct information search after discussion or consultation with lecturers, in general (95.23%) know the information needs when attending lectures, (88.4 %) know the information needs specifically, and in general (88%) do information when they are aware of and know the need for information. (2). Chaining - activities following a series of citations, citations or forms of reconciliation between documents with each other. In general (92.8 uses a bibliography to search information, generally (90.4%) use the author's name from the core reference to look for other references in conducting information searches, and in general (92.9%) use subjects from core reference to look for other references (3) Browsing - merawak, looking for, but rather directed, in areas that are considered to have the potential for the information needed.In general (73%) libraries can always meet information needs, in general In general (95.2%) look for information on the internet if the information you are looking for is not found in the printed source of information, (92.8%) generally directly looking for information on the internet if the information you need is not found in the printed source of information, at generally (45.22%) query identification (keywords). (4). Differentiating - sorting, using the features in the information source as a basic reference for checking quality or information content. in general (88%) the internet is the main source of information, in general (92.84%) The source of information printed is still very much needed in fulfilling information needs. (5). Monitoring - monitoring progress by focusing on selected sources. In general (88.09%) looked for the latest information through the internet by searching for the latest articles, in general (78.56%) needed to find the latest information to enrich the reference sources. (6). Extracting - systematically digging in one source to retrieve information that is considered important. In general (90.47 when you need information you often search the search engine (google, yahoo), in general (88.09 often uses a journal database to get information, in general (78.56%) after getting information on the internet , you directly copy the information, in general (76.19%) use the "Google" search engine because it is more relevant than other search engines.Keywords:Â behavior, millennial generation and information.

This paper is aimed at assessing the effectiveness of library services to People with Visual Impairment in Social Institution Bina Netra Tuah Sakato Padang. The method used is descriptive method, that data is collected through observation, interview, and literature study with blind people in the Library users Social Institution Bina Netra Tuah Sakato Padang. Based on the results of this study concluded matters as the following. First, the effectiveness of the services contained in the library Social Institution Bina Netra Tuah Sakato not run well because libraries still provide the services that are still in the stage of a standard or simple and the presence of special facilities should be used for people with visual impairment. Second, there are obstacles: 1) lack of effective services that are applied 2) the lack of budget funds in the provision of facilities and materials in the library collections resulted in the ineffectiveness of the library service. 3) the librarian has a friendly attitude and good, but librarians do not have the educational background of library science. Third, efforts made to overcome the above as follows. 1) provide optimal service and add to the library service, 2) proposed budget for facility improvements and additions to the library collection, 3) conduct training for librarians in order to know the ins and outs of the library and the library is able to manage it well.Keyword: effectiveness of services, library services, blind.

This paper discussed about the procedure managing the archive in the Office of Records and Documentation Solok. The purpose of this paper is to describe the procedure managing the archive in the Office of Records and Dokumentsi Solok. The method used for writing this paper uses descriptive method Â by exposing about an object as it is at a time based on the data analysis can be summarized as follows: 1) Setup Procedure Records in the Office of Archives and Documentation library of Solok according to region or area Gated system employee. Last save made â€‹â€‹less irregular, 2) the constraints faced in the Office of Library and archives is the lack of documentation of Solok archival facility and its staff lack an educational background in archives and, 3) the efforts made in the procedure of managing the archive office and library archives Solok documentation procedures that adjust the arrangement of archives with the existing theory paraphernalia weeks to complete the procedure and arrangement of archives and archivists added power. This paper discussed the design of the library in the guide books Dharma Andalas University Library. The purpose of this paper to design a library of guide books in the Library of the University of Dharma Andalas. The method used is descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection through direct observation to the field (observation) and interviews. The observations were made by direct observation to Dharma Andalas University Library to obtain the necessary data. Collecting data through interviews conducted with heads of libraries, librarians and users in Library of Dharma Andalas University. Based on the discussion can be concluded the steps in the manufacture of guide books in the library of Dharma Andalas University Library, as follows; (A) collecting data and information, (b) making a framework for writing, (c) the manufacture of cover, (d) the manufacture of the foreword, (e) the preparation of the contents, (f) the manufacture of the main contents of books, the main elements contained in guide book library is to make the first chapter that discusses briefly about the library, its vision and mission, the room layout library and the organizational structure, chapter II, which discusses the clock service, order, and types of library services, chapter III, classification of library materials, type of collection and procedures for borrowing and returning, chapter IV which discusses how to use opacs (g) makes the cover. It can facilitate the librarians in the library to socialize and faciliitate pemustaka pemustaka in using the library and find information.Keyword: guide book, service, library.

AbstractIn this writing discussed about making a food encyclopedia typical of West Sumatra. The purpose of writing this paper aims to describe the making of an encyclopedia of typical food in West Sumatra. The research method used in this study is descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews. Data collection through interviews was conducted with the communities in each region in West Sumatra. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the stages in the making of the encyclopedia of West Sumatra typical foods are as follows: 1) information tracing to every region in West Sumatra; 2) Collection of food data typical of West Sumatra is collected based on the results of the search for information from information sources, namely typical restaurant outlets in each region in West Sumatra; 3) the editing or checking process is carried out by completing the lack of writing the wrong word; 4) create a printed encyclopedia for West Sumatra food.Â Keywords: food, West Sumatra, and encyclopedia

The purpose of this paper to describe the maintenance and care of archive in the Library Archives and Documentation Office of Pesisir Selatan and the obstacles encountered in the maintenance and care of archive in the Library Archives and Documentation Office of the South Coastal District and what efforts were made â€‹â€‹in the maintenance and care of static archive in office of Library Archives and Documentation Pesisir Selatan. Method in this study uses descriptive method, to obtain the data the authors conducted observations and interviews. The object to be studied is the maintenance and care of archive in the Library Archives and Documentation Office of the Pesisir Selatan. Based on the results of this study concluded that the maintenance and care of the static archive in the Office of Archives and Documentation Library Pesisir Selatan has not done well because it is still using the traditional maintenance process. Abstract The purpose of this research is to describe the activity in the Representative of Sumatera Barat about : (1) the source of inactive archives; (2) the archives which include into inactive one; (3) the record system of inactive archives; and (4) if the inactive archives has been reduce or not. The data was collected through observation and interview. Data analisys was processed by descriptive technique. Based on data analisys, it can be conclude that. First, the source of inactive archives that been put into storage comes from the meeting of the Representative. Second, there are only two kinds of inactive archives, specific archives and special archives. Third, the record system that used by the Representative of Sumatera Barat is the chronological system. Fourth, there is no reduction activity for the archives. Keywords: Records management; inactive archive

AbstractÂ This study aims to examine and assess how theÂ kanagarian duriantinggi community maintains and continues the indigenous knowledge found there. Indigenous Knowledge of the Durian Tinggi people, The research method used is descriptive case study, Data collection methods in this study were observations, interviews, and documentatio. The results of this study show that the people in Kanagrian Duriantinggi have different knowledge of adat from other communities where the culture found in Kanagarian Duriantinggi has a little element of Malay culture in it, the culture that is still on the run and continues to be passed on from generation to generation in the people of Kabagrian Duriantinggi. Whereas in the conservation of knowledge contained in the community more in the form of documentation, whereas for text or text is only rewritten and does not use document rext digitall, indigenous knowledge (indigenous knowledge held by the community in Durian Tinggi, indigenous knowledge is stored within each community verbally.Keywords: preservation of knowledge, indigenous knowledge, Durian tinggi community

This article aims to reveal the systematic design of the website. Data were collected through observation and interviews with librarians. Data analysis was done descriptively. By analyzing the data, it was concluded matters as follows. (1) the design of websites using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, (2) the information discussed in this paper about the website includes the steps of data collection by observation and interviews, process design websites with Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 as well as designing the header using applications Fireworks CS3 Portable, and (3) description of the scope of information is divided into seven key menu consisting of, first menu Home (congratulations came from the head of the museum), the second menu Profile (history, organizational structure, staff and vision), a third menu News (activity library), fourth menu Album (photo collection), the fifth menu Services (facilities and service time), the sixth menu Information (information about the library), and the seventh Contacts menu (comments and suggestions). This paper discussed about creating indexes of scientific journals in the Library of the Institute of Technology Padang. This paper aims to describe how the manufacturing index ilmial journals in the Library Institute of Technology Padang. The method used is descriptive method with data collection through observation or direct observation to the Library Institute of Technology Padang, interviews, and literature. From the observation of interviews conducted at the Institute of Technology Library Padang, collected as many as 19 journals with the number of 413 articles. Based on the results of the discussion in the manufacturing index of scientific journals in the Library of the Institute of Technology of Padang, we can conclude several steps taken indexing scientific journals such as: 1) The initial observations of the document, which is observing the document to be indexed and collect the necessary data; 2) make a description, which was to determine the author's name, title of article, journal titles containing the article, volume (number), month and year of issue of the journal, and page number of the journal that published articles; and 3) typing index.Keyword: index; journal; Institute of Technology PadangÂ
