Abstract

The implementation of SOP (Standard Operational Procedures) in university library is needed to improve the service quality. The arrangement of SOP in University library includes four stages. The first is analysis of SOP needs. The beginning step in arranging of SOP is by analyzing SOP that will be created. Furthermore, the SOP that created depends on the ongoing work condition and procedures. The second is the development of SOP. Because of the change of internal and external organization of university library, SOP also has to change. The third is implementation of SOP. In implementing SOP, it is hoped that there is a balance between the availability of SOP, that organizes the operational activity of university library, and the human resources, that have professional behavior in arranging the library. The fourth is observation and evaluation. In order to implement SOP properly, it should be assessed by reviewers. These four steps are done in sequence to produce SOP that is appropriate to field needs for supporting the completeness of integrated quality management in university library. Therefore, the standard service quality of library can be measured by having SOP. Thus, the service quality which is given to visitors can be determined based on SOP. Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of procurement of non-book material in the central library of the state university of padang that can raise procurement and constraints in implementing strategies in the revolutionary era 4.0. this type of research is a qualitative approach with a method of interviewing the head of the padang state university library and staff management staff, library research by collecting data from reference materials, archives, and documents related to this research. The result of this study are the fact that in the central library of the state university of padang procurement of non-book material is no longer used because of the lack of a place for non-book material media such as tools, so people search for and obtain material or material on the internet that occurred in the revolutionary era 4.0.

Abstract

Arsip merupakan rekam kegiatan atau dokumen- dokumen yang diciptakan oleh lembaga setiap harinya yang disimpan memiliki nilai guna yang sewaku- waktu dapat ditemu kembali. Dalam proses pelaksanaan penyimpanan arsip, memerlukan sitem penyimpanaan arsip yang ditetapkan agar dokumen yang diarsipkan dapat tertata,dan mudah dicari jika dibutuhkan, sistem yang digunakan yaitu sistem subjek dimana penyimpanan berdasarkan isi dokumen, sitem tanggal, dimana dokumen di urutkan berdasarkan tanggal dokumen itu diciptakan dan sistem geografis atau wilaya, dimana penyimpanan disusun berdasar daerah dokumen itu berasal atau dituju. Perlatan dan perlengkapan yang memadai, menunjang proses pengarsipan, kegiatan ini pun tidak luput dari sumber daya manusia yang dapat mengoperasikan peralatan dan perlengkapan dengan baik. Sistem yang digunakan yaitu desentralisasi yaitu Pengelolaan Arsip yang dilakukan pada setiap unit kerja dalam suatu organisasi atau setiap unit mengelola arsipnya masing- masing.

Abstract

The purpose of science and technology activities for the Society (IbM) is to solve problems in the school library by providing understanding and management of libraries to library officer or teachers placed in the library to be able to manage the school library based on information technology in accordance with established standards. In this activity, it will solve the problem completely from conceptual understanding and conducting school library management practices based on information technology with the implementation of library automation system using Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) and socialization of information literacy in the school library.The method offered to solve the problem of school library management based on information technology is the training is used lecturing method, question and answer, group discussion, and practice. Then this is followed by information socialization activities information technology-based information for all school members. Training activities accomplished properly according to the expected objectives of the program. This activity received a positive response from various parties and trainees can apply the use of SLiMS software in school library management. From the socialization activities for information literacy performed by involving all elements schools can increase their citizens’ understanding of various sources of information that can be utilized. So hopefully the school library can provide better service and the existence of school libraries will contribute significantly to the society.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses procurement management in libraries at Padang State University. The main problem raised in this research is how the management of the collection procurement in the Padang State University (UNP) library and what obstacles are the obstacles to the procurement of collections in the Padang State University library. In this study, using a descriptive approach with a qualitative method, namely to understand the phenomenon of what the research subjects experienced in a holistic manner by describing and collecting data through the field using interview and observation techniques. Based on this research, library material procurement is selected based on existing needs in the library. In procuring collections, tools such as personal catalogs, OPAC, bibliographies and so on can make it easier to find collections and make it easier for students to get collections quickly.Keywords: Procurement, Collection, Library, UserAbstrak: Penelitian ini membahas tentang manajemen pengadaan di perpustakaan di Universitas Negeri Padang. Pokok masalahnya yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana manajemen pengadaan koleksi diperpustakaan Universitas Negeri padang (UNP) dan kendala apa saja yang menjadi penghambat pengadaan koleksi diperpustakaan Universitas Negeri Padang. Dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan metode kualintatif yakni untuk memahami fenomena tentang apa yang dialami subyek penelitian secara holistic dengan cara mendeskripsikan dan mengumpulkan data melalui lapangan dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini pengadaan bahan pustaka diseleksi berdasarkan kebutuhan yang ada diperpustakaan. Dalam pengadaan koleksi bisa menggunakan alat bantu seperti katalog pribadi, OPAC,bibliografi dan sebagainya untuk mempermudah pencarian koleksi dan mempermudah mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan koleksi secara cepat.Kata kunci: Pengadaan, Koleksi, Perpustakaan, Pemustaka

Abstract

This paper discuss about the process of making index with annotation the economic journal in the library of Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Ekasakti Padang. The aim of this study is to present or describe the process making index with annotation the economic journal in the library of Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitass Ekasakti Padang. The method used is the desscriptive method which is described what they are. The data has been collected through direct observation and asking some questions to the librarian in the library of Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Ekasakti Padang. Based on the the process of making index with annotation which are (a) the collection and selection of the journal in the library of Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Ekasakti Padang, after the collection and selection have been done, then the collection of the journal are 12 journals, 27 copies and 183 articles; (b) making description of the journal done by recording the data of index annotation. The informations that will be recording are the name of journal, volume, month, and years of published the journal, the title of articles, the authors, and page numbers of articles; (c) making annotation the articles, with the purpose to illustrate the content for the people. The process of making annotation done by reading all of the articles first, understanding the meaning of that articles, translates the abstract of articles journal into Indonesian language and concludes that; (d) established the keywords with the purpose to make easier in finding the informations. Keywords have been taken from the title of article, abstract, and the content of the article; (e) the construction of the index articles journal through some regulations of the author, the title of index, and the index keywords are arranged based on alphabetical order; (f) typing the index with annotation.Keyword: index with annotation, economic journal.

Abstract

This paper discusses the making of Records Retention Schedule (RRS) in the Office of the Nagari Kajai West Pasaman. The of writing of this paper to describe the process of making RRS in the Office of the Nagari Kajai West Pasaman. RRS making process in the Office of the Nagari Kajai, West Pasaman started to browse the archive of information that will be made retention schedule, selecting, and classifying records, as well as the collection of data. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded, first, that there are records in the Office of the Nagari Kajai can be classified into three categories, namely class script vital, important slip sand slip shandy. Second, in the manufacture of Records Retention Schedule take steams of each head of affairs and secretary. Third, conduct a survey to look at the purpose and functions of the organization, the vision and mission of the organization as well as archived data stored. Abstract

This paper discusses about construction of Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of Circulation Service at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang’s library. This paper aims to describe the preparation and construction of Operational Procedure (SOP) of Circulation Service at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang’s library. The researcher used description method. Then, the technique of data collection is observation and interview.Based on the research it can be concluded that Firs’t, the preparation to construct the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of Circulation Service at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang’s library includes (1) finding out needs; (2) evaluating and assessing needs; (3) determining needs;(4) determining alternative step. Second, the construction of Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of Circulation Service at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang’s library includes (1) collecting information bydiscussing and doing interview with the headmaster of staff of the library; (2) making the basic draft, trying out the instrument and asking approval to the headmaster of the library, trying out the existing instrument with SOP’s draft that has been discussed; (3) making and attaching SOP’s document proponent; (4) attaching the designer of SOP and the validator and; (5) attaching the constructional date, revision and the validation.Keyword: library, Standard Operational Procedure (SOP), services.

Abstract

Writing this article aims to describe (1) the implementation of electronic filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Bukittinggi; (2) obstacles in the implementation of electronic filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Bukittinggi; (3) efforts should be made so that the implementation of an electronic archive goes well at the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. Data collected by observation and interviews with archivists and the study of literature in the implementation of electronic filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. Data analysis was done descriptive. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that (1) the activities in the implementation of electronic filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Bukittinggi starting scan archived data, data entry, edit data, and publication of archives; (2) there are still obstacles encountered in the Application of Electronic Records in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Bukittinggi; (3) the efforts made by the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Bukittinggi namely: improving infrastructure, enhancing human resources by means of training and education and broaden through the media. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the effectiveness and service strategies in the Library of UNAND, requiring techniques that are expected to improve the quality of service is through rebranding. Data collection tool that is used to describe the qualitative data are observation, field notes, interviews with library staff, and literature. Analyzing the data be descriptive. By analyzing the data, it was concluded the following. First, the implementation of the rebranding at the Library of UNAND not vitiated financial, library management, to own inviters. Second, service strategies through rebranding less applied in Library of UNAND.
