Abstract

The objectives of this study are to find out the profit, the farmers’ perception, the farmers’ interest of industrial cassava farmers, and to analyze factors affecting of the farmers’ interest for the industrial cassava. The locations of this study are chosen purposively in Sukadana and Rajabasa Batanghari Villages, Sukadana District, East Lampung Regency. The number of respondents were 64 farmers selected using simple random sampling method. The data were collected in September - October 2018. The profit is analyzed descriptively, the farmers’ perception is analyzed using the Likert Scale, and the factors affecting farmers’ interest are analyzed using binary logistic regression. The results of this study showed that the profit was IDR10,355,938.25 per hectare. The farmers’ perception of the industrial cassava farming was easy because of its the easiness of cultivation, the reliability of market, the availability of the agricultural extension, and the fulfillment for the farmers’ needs. The farmers’ interest in cassava farming was low. The factors affecting the farmers’ interest in cassava farming were the planting area and the price of the cassava.Key words: agriculture, cassava farmers, interests, perception

Abstract

Lampung Province is the fourth cocoa producer in Indonesia after North Sumatra, West Sumatera, and Aceh. Lampung Province cocoa trade is large because the demand for its export and export price are relatively high. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the volume of cocoa exports and determine the impact of cocoa export tax rates (taxe exports) in Lampung Province. This study used both descriptive and quantitative analysis methods in which data was obtained from the relevant authorities as secondary data for 20 years, starting from 1993 to 2012. The research data was analyzed by SPSS 16.0 program for window. For purposes of data analysis and hypothesis testing proposed, used the method of”econometrics”. The results of this study showed that 1) the factors that significantly affected the export volume of cocoa in Lampung Province was the volume of cocoa production, cocoa export price (ICCO),interest rate, domestic price of cocoa and tariffs out (export tax) cocoa and 2) the impact after rising tariffs out (export taxes) would reduce the volume of cocoa exports in Lampung Province.Keywords : international trade, cacao, exports, export tarrif, export volume

Abstract

This research aims to determine factors that affect the frequency of tourists visits, economic impacts generated, and the positive and negative externality impacts to community surrounding of Muncak Teropong Laut Agrotourism area.  Data collection was conducted from November 2018 to February 2019.  Respondents were 80 visitors and 7 people from surrounding community.  Factors affecting the frequency of visits were analyzed using multiple linear regression whereas economic impact analysis and externalities are explained by qualitative descriptive.  The study shows that factors affecting the number of visits to Muncak Teropong Laut are age, education, income, travel expenses, time of visit, and facilities.  Economic impact of the community surrounding Muncak Teropong Laut is increased in business activity such as small vendors that gain IDR750,000.00 to IDR1,000,000.00 per month.  Other positive externality is absorption of labour.  Negative externalities include cost of road repairs and medical expenses.Key words: agrotourism, community economics, externalities

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the income structure, income distribution, and household welfare level of palm oil smallholders in Tulang Bawang Regency. This research used a survey method. The study sample consisted of 54 independent palm oil farmers in Penawar Tama Sub-District and 22 independent palm oil farmers in Gedung AjiBaru Sub-District. Data were collected in July - August 2017 and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the income structures of palm oil smallholders consist of contribution from on farm income, which is the highest, i.e. 55.10 percent in scenario 1 and 49.11 percent in scenario 2. The following income sources are from non farm, and off farm activities respectively. The household income of palm oil smallholders is relatively evenly distributed in scenario 1 with Gini Index of 0.17 which shows low inequality, and distributed in the medium category in scenario 2 with a Gini Index of 0.31 which shows moderate inequality. The level of welfare of palm oil smallholdersaccording to Sajogyo (1997) criteria shows that the majority of farmers are categorized as poor and almost poor, reaching 68.42 percent. According to the Badan Pusat Statistik (2014) shows that the majority of palm oil smallholdersis categorized as not prosperous (64.47 percent), and the rest is in prosperous category.Key words: farming, income, oil palm, welfare

Abstract

This research aims to analyze comparative advantage, competitive advantage, the impact of government policies on input output of certified coffee farming, and analyze the sensitivity of changes in input and outputprices to the comparative advantage and competitive advantage of coffee farming in Sumberejo Subdistrict Tanggamus District. The samples of 25 farmers were taken simply randomly from 133 coffee farmers who applied 4C coffee certification. Data were analyzed using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix). The results showed that 4C certification coffee farming in Sumberejo Subdistrict of Tanggamus District had a competitive advantage with value of Private Cost Ratio of 0.53 and comparative advantage with of Domestic Cost Ratio of 0.38. Comparative advantage was sensitive to 20.31 percent decline in production volume and 40 percent decline in farm output price. Increase in input price due to revocation of subsidies reduced competitive and comparative advantages. Competitive and comparative advantages were not sensitive to an increase in input price.Key words: certified, coffee, comparative, competitive, PAM

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the difference of the income structure, the income distribution, and the welfare level of cassava farmer households based on factory location distance from location of cassava farm in Lampung Tengah Regency. The research sample consisted of 42 cassava farmers in Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict and 31 cassava farmers in Bandar Mataram Subdistrict. The data were analyzed using income structure, income distribution, and welfare level analysis based on BPS criteria. The results of this research showed that there was difference in the income structure between cassava farmers in Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict and Bandar Mataram Subdistrict. The income structure of cassava farmers had the highest contribution of the household income from main on-farm income which was 65.75 percent and 78.88 percent. There was also difference in the income distribution between cassava farmer households in Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict and Bandar Mataram Subdistrict. The income distribution of cassava farmer households in Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict was categorized as moderate inequality, welfare in Bandar Mataram Subdistrict was categorized as high inequality. There was no significant difference of the welfare level of cassava farmer households between the two locations. Based on BPS criteria, the welfare level of cassava farmer households in Terusan Nunyai and Bandar Mataram Subdistrict were categorized as prosperous farmer households.Key words: cassava, farmers, income, welfare

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to find out the financial viability of smallholder rubber farming in Kembang Tanjung Village and the competitiveness of smallholder rubber farming in Kembang Tanjung village. This research was conducted in Kembang Tanjung, Subdistrict of South Abung, North Lampung regency. The numbers of samples in this study were 63 people obtained by proportional random sampling. The analytical methods used to answer the goals were financial analysis method and Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM).  The results obtained from this research showed that smallholder rubber farming in Kembang Tanjung are profitable and feasible.  The smallholder rubber farming at Kembang Tanjung has competitiveness (competitive and comparative advantage), it could be seen by the PCR value as 0,17 (<1) and the DRC amounted to 0,09 (<1).  The indicator means that the commodity of smallholder rubber farming at Kembang Tanjung village emerging government policies in term of improving production effeciency which was the policy in subsidizing fertilizers for farmers.Key words: competitiveness, financial feasibility, PAM, rubber

Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution system, efficiency, and accuracy of the distribution of Beras Sejahtera (RASTRA) and Bantuan Pangan Non-Tunai (BPNT) programs in Yukum Jaya Village, Terbanggi Besar Sub-district, Central Lampung Regency.  The attributes used in this study are right on target, right on amount, right on time, right on price, right on administration, right on quality consisting of color, aroma, rice cleanliness, and condition of eggs.  The study uses a survey method involving 33 recipients of Rastra program and 31 recipients of BPNT program.  The first and second objectives are analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis.  The third objective is analyzed using Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA).  The study shows that the distribution system of Rastra and BPNT are included in the semi-direct distribution category.  The distribution efficiency of the Rastra program is 0..06 and the BPNT program is 0.04 which means that the distribution of rice in the two programs are efficient.  The CSI of Rastra score is 54.36% or in quite proper category and BPNT is 68.94% or proper category.  IPA analysis shows that the most suitable attribute of Rastra is the right on price attribute and for BPNT is the right on amount atrribute.Key words: accurate, BPNT, CSI, efficiency, Rastra

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that consumes and produces rice, so rice is a primary need in Indonesia. The government stipulates the highest retail price (HET) of rice policy to maintain the stability of rice price. The purposes of this study are to fin out the effectiveness of rice HET policy in Lampung Province, to analyze the impacts of thepolicy stipulation, and to find out the difference between medium rice supply chains before and after the HET Policy. This research uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used were interviews using questionnaires and also observation. The results of this study were the policy of medium rice HET has not been effectively implemented Lampung Province with price difference of Rp1.663,00. This caused no impact on the farmers, distributors, retail traders, and consumers. In the previous study, the medium rice supply chain flow in Lampung Province was infour marketing channels while in the current study was in six marketing channels.Keywords: effectiviness, HET, rice, supply

Abstract

This study aims to analyze:(1) the implementation process of funds distribution in PUAP Program at Gapoktan Bangun Rejo, Central Lampung, (2) the percentage of capital repayment level of PUAP, (3) the factors that affect credit refund level of PUAP. This research was conducted at Bangun Rejo, Central Lampung based on purposive. Amount of sample were 79 respondents whichconsists of 41people with current loan repayment and 38 people with non-current loan repayment. The first and second purpose were analyzed by using descriptively while and the third were analyzed by using logit method. The result showed  that(1) implementation process of funds distribution in PUAP Program for the member of farmers group at Gapoktan Tanjung Pandan or Cimarias have the same requirements and mechanisms, and the differences between them were amount of interest rate, sanctions and letter of borrowing stemped 6000,(2) overall, credit refund level of PUAP at Tanjung Pandan in every step revolving  has fluent loan quality with the percentage of 100%. While credit refund level at Cimarias has loan quality in specific concern with the percentage of 72.6% at first step and 51.66% at second step, this credit refund level also has the jammed loan quality 27.4% at first step and 48.33% at second step, (3) the factors that affected the level of group capital repayment  of PUAP were the level of education, age, family income and the knowledge of  PUAP.
