Abstract

Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) are all health behaviors that are carried out with awareness so that family or family members can help themselves in the health sector and play an active role in health activities in the community. This community service program is motivated by limited access to information, transportation and health in rural areas of Kampung Pemekaran Mister Ngiosi Manokwari causing a lack of understanding and application of a clean and healthy lifestyle by children, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. To overcome this gap, it is necessary to disseminate information about clean and healthy living behavior in children. Activities on PHBS are using interactive learning in the form of lectures and giving some questions related to the PHBS and reward, demonstration related to preventing the transmission of Covid-19. The results of the activity showed that about 80% of the children could carry out 11 steps of hand washing activity well. In terms of healthy food, 100% of the children finished the given food.

Abstract

Mites have hostplant specifications or host plants. Mites can be destructive and deadly of which is the host plants a mango crop. Mites on mango crops will cause the leaves yellow and fall off prematurely. This is will lead to the disruption of the productivity of mango. It is necessary for research to identify the mites that infect the mango crop. The method is carried out by direct observation. Mites were taken from the surface of mango leaves later in preservation with several levels of concentration of alcohol, and polyvinyl laktofenol. Then, observed under a microscope and documented for identification purposes. Mites on the leaf surface of manalagi mango (Mangifera indica) found two species, it is Oligonychus sp. and Oligonychus ilicis (Family: Tetranychidae, Superfamily: Tetranychoidea). Oligonychus sp. hallmark is rounded body shape like a spider, with a body is transparent and there are two long seta on posterior part. While Oligonychus ilicis has a characteristic elongated rounded body shape, red, and there is a short posterior seta. Oligonychus sp. and Oligonychus ilicis live as parasites on the surface of mango leaves that can lead to wrinkled leaves, yellow and to fall. Oligonychus life cycle starts from the eggs develop into Nympha and then adult.

Abstract

This study was done to study the diversity of butterflies and its distribution in the Gunung Meja National Park. A survey was carried out using transect count or line transect and the classification of Parson was used for habitat distribution. A number of 96 species of butterflies was encountered from the Family Papilionidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae dan Nyphalidae. Three types of habitat covered the distribution of the butterflies’ species, i.e. primer forest with 41 species, secondary forest with 83 species, and garden and house yard with 49 species. Based on the t test, there is a significant differences on the diversity of each habitat (tcount > ttable; p > 0.05).

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Fisheries activities in Aipiri Village are traditional activities. Using rowboats, the fishing grounds for fishermen are around the beach in front of the village. Some fishermen use motorboats with a wider range of fish catches. Repairing motorboat damage is usually done by calling a trained repairman because fishermen do not yet have adequate equipment to repair them. Community service activities aim to carry out counseling and provide workshop equipment and coolboxes to groups of fishermen in Aipiri village. The activity began with the Unipa Postgraduate team receiving workshop equipment from the Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan of West Papua Province which was symbolically handed over to the Postgraduate Director. Furthermore, the team distributed to groups of fishermen in Aipiri village and conducted counseling for 5 groups of fishermen. Cooperation with partners has succeeded in distributing assistance in the form of workshop tools and coolboxes. It is hoped that the workshop equipment can improve the economy of the fishing community in Aipiri village. Keywords: Aipiri; Fisherman; Workshop tools   ABSTRAK  Kegiatan perikanan di Kampung Aipiri berupa kegiatan tradisional dengan menggunakan perahu dayung. Beberapa nelayan menggunakan perahu motor dengan jangkauan tangkapan ikan yang lebih luas.  Perbaikan kerusakan pada perahu motor biasanya dilakukan dengan memanggil orang bengkel yang terlatih karena para nelayan belum memiliki peralatan yang memadai.  Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan dan bantuan peralatan bengkel dan coolbox kepada kelompok nelayan di Kampung Aipiri. Kegiatan diawali dengan tim Pascasarjana Unipa menerima bantuan berupa peralatan perbengkelan dari Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Provinsi Papua Barat yang diserahkan kepada Direktur Pascasarjana secara simbolis.  Selanjutnya tim mendistribusikan ke kelompok nelayan kampung Aipiri sekaligus melaksanakan penyuluhan tentang pemeliharaan perahu motor kepada 5 kelompok nelayan. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman kelompok nelayan terhadap pemeliharaan perahu motor meningkat. Kelompok nelayan memahami bagian-bagian motor yang perlu dilakukan pemeliharaan dan perbaikan. Kerjasama dengan mitra telah berhasil menyalurkan bantuan berupa alat perbengkelan dan coolbox. Diharapkan bantuan peralatan tersebut dapat meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat nelayan di kampung Aipiri. Kata kunci: Aipiri; Alat perbengkelan; Nelayan

Abstract

Health services in Papua are still a serious problem that not all Papuan people cannot reach, especially people living in remote and mountainous areas. Kampung The purpose of this service activity is to provide free health check up and assess nutritional status in an effort to improve the health of the Arfak community in Kwau Village, West Papua Province. through health checks and body measurements. The number of patients receiving treatment was 85 people with an age range of 1-70 years, consisting of children to elderly patients. Our result showed most of the patients suffered from Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) as many as 39 people, then stomach ulcers as many as 18 patients, muscle diseases and arthritis as many as 18 people. Other diseases, which amounted to 10 people, were relatively few suffered by the people of Kampung Kwau. In general, children in Kwau Village have good nutrition. There were three children who were categorized as very short. The sustainable use and management of local food by the Arfak traditional community in Kwau Village shows that the community has sufficient food security to meet optimal nutritional intake.

Abstract

Environmental problems are a crucial problem because they quickly destroy the changing natural ecological balance, especially for animals whose lives are very dependent on the season, their natural habitat, and the availability of food in nature, especially Wattledbrush-turkey. The uncontrolled use of eggs and meat by these birds accelerates the extinction of animals in their natural habitat. Outside captive habitats for utilization purposes require attention to conservation and human needs. One of the efforts to accelerate the population is through artificial reproduction. The aim of the research was to obtain a model/prototype that was in accordance with natural conditions by using hatchery quality parameters so that the hatchability of bird eggs was expected to be increased. Research using trial and error method with experimental techniques. The results of testing the performance of the tool can be concluded that the incubator can function optimally and is stable in temperature and humidity so that the quality and quantity of hatching can increase by up to 80%. Testing of hatchability and hatching quality continues to be carried out to improve the performance of incubators that are more economical and easy to operate so that captive breeding activities outside their habitat (ex-situ) for the conservation and cultivation of endemic Papuan birds can be carried out.

Abstract

Most of the people of Sumuri District make a living as farmers, especially fruit and vegetable farmers. Local fruit plants that are commonly cultivated include bananas, papaya, mangoes, oranges, rambutan, pineapple and water guava. One of the obstacles experienced by the community is the presence of pests that attack the fruit, causing poor fruit and even crop failure. This prompted a field survey of fruit flies in community fruit plantations. The field survey was conducted in October-December 2023 in Tofoi Village, Materabu Jaya Village and Forada Village, Sumuri District, Bintuni Bay. The survey was conducted using the trapping method with Steiner model traps that have been modified from mineral water bottles and the addition of native fruit samples and Methyl Eugenol (ME) with petrogenol trademark. Traps were set for three days and then identification and collection of fruit fly samples were carried out. The results showed that the highest population of fruit flies was in pineapple (Annanas commosus), which was 738 and the least in water guava (Syzygeum aqueum), which was 324. There were nine fruit fly species identified from this study, including: Bactrocera umbrosa (Fabricus), B.carambolae (Drew and Hancock), B.dorsalis (Hendel), B.curreyi (Drew), B.curvifera (Walker), B.emittens (Walker), B.papayae (Drew and Hancock), B.tryoni (Froggatt) and Procecidochares connexa (Macquart)

Abstract

Serangga adalah organisme yang dapat menimbulkan kerusakan pada tanaman dan menurunkan kualitas hasil panen, sehingga dapat menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Saat ini belum banyak penelitian atau pengetahuan tentang serangga yang sering menjadi hama pada kebun masyarakat dan cara masyarakat menanggulangi hama tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keanekaragaman serangga dan jumlah kerusakan yang ditimbulkan pada kebun masyarakat. Penelitian secara dilakukan secara acak pada 4 kebun masyarakat di Kampung Anggra, Distrik Minyambouw, Kabupaten Pegunungan Arfak. Keragaman serangga dihitung dengan menggunakan Shanon-Weiner Diversity Indeks, kesemerataan dan Soronsen Indeks Similarity untuk menilai komposisi spesis pada tiap kebun. Hasil penelitian mencatat 60 spesies serangga dari 37 famili (391 individu) pada 122 tanaman (95 tanaman kol dan 27 tanaman sawi). Tanaman diserang adalah Brassica rapa (sawi putih) dengan jumlah kerusakan 25,47%.

Abstract

Insect pests are organisms that can cause damage to plants, resulting in the loss or decrease of community harvest production. Kwau Village is one of the villages in the Arfak Mountains whose people work as traditional farmers. Information about insects, especially pests found in community gardens is still very lacking, so this study needs to be conducted. The purpose of this study was to analyze the diversity of insect species in traditional Arfak community gardens. Observations of insects on plants in four community gardens in Kwau Village were selected by cluster random sampling. The study was conducted from 08.00-15.00 WIT. Based on the research conducted, 65 species were found consisting of 32 insect families (331 individuals). The most common type found was Cymbiodyta sp. (Hydrophilidae). The garden with the highest level of insect diversity was Garden 3 (K3) which is a polyculture type garden with an H' index of 3.10. Of all the plants observed, chili  was the plant most serious damaged by insects. Serangga hama merupakan suatu organisme yang dapat menimbulkan kerusakan pada tanaman sehingga menyebabkan hilang atau menurunnya produksi hasil panen masyarakat. Kampung Kwau merupakan salah satu kampung yang diterdapat di Pegunungan Arfak yang masyarakatnya berprofesi sebagai petani tradisional. Informasi tentang serangga khususnya hama yang terdapat di kebun masyarakat masih sangat kurang, sehingga penelitian ini perlu dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis keanekaragaman spesies serangga yang ada pada kebun tradisional masyarakat Arfak. Pengamatan serangga pada tanaman di empat kebun masyarakat di Kampung Kwau yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Penelitian dilakukan dari Pukul 08.00-15.00 WIT. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan ditemukan 65 spesies yang terdiri dari 32 famili serangga (331 individu). Jenis yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah Cymbiodyta sp. (Hydrophilidae). Kebun yang memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman serangga paling tinggi pada dalah Kebun 3 (K3) yang merupakan kebun tipe polikultur dengan indeks H’ sebesar 3,10. Dari semua tanaman yang diamati,  cabai  adalah tanaman paling banyak mengalami kerusakan berat akibat serangga.
