Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research aims to determine the composting rate and quality of sago dregs compost using EM4 and RJ37 Formula Turbo Neo Aktiv (FTNA) activators. The sago dregs composting process with EM4 and RJ37 FTNA activator treatment has an effect on the composting rate and quality of the sago dregs compost. The research used a single factor Randomized Block Design. Parameters observed include C-Organic content, N, P, K, C/N ratio, plant height, number of leaves and wet weight at harvest. The research results showed that EM4 and RJ37 FTNA with doses of 100 ml and 150 ml could accelerate the composting rate of sago dregs for 8 weeks so as to obtain compost quality according to the SNI 19-7030-2004 criteria

Abstract

Taroi District is one of the districts in Teluk Bintuni Regency which is also known as a shrimp producer. Therefore, almost all the people of Taroi District work as fishermen. Shrimp production is greatly influenced by climatic factors so that there is a shrimp fishing season. In the non-shrimp fishing period, the community experienced difficulties in maintaining stable economic conditions. Coconut trees grow abundantly in the Taroi District area, from the coast to the mainland. However, the utilization of coconut commodities can be said to be very low. The main obstacle in developing coconut commodities is limited market access. The geographical location of Taroi District which is far from the district capital causes high transportation prices so that people are unable to market coconuts. Several strategies that can be used to overcome these obstacles are by 1) improving the quality of fruit through the creation of coconut plantations in dry areas, 2) variations in processed coconut products (virgin coconut oil, coconut oil, nata de coco, coconut honey, charcoal briquettes and cocopeat) and 3) availability of transportation and market access.Keywords: Coconut, Taroi District, Teluk Bintuni Regency

Abstract

Abstrak: Produktivitas pertanian yang optimal merupakan tantangan besar bagi petani. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hardskill dan softskill kelompok tani "Malawo Sejahtera" di Kelurahan Jamaimo, Distrik Mariat, Kabupaten Sorong melalui sosialisasi dan pendampingan penyemaian benih sayuran. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 22 peserta dari kelompok tani "Malawo Sejahtera" dan difokuskan pada budidaya sayuran seperti terong, sawi, dan bayam yang dinilai mudah dibudidayakan serta memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Sosialisasi dilakukan untuk memberikan pemahaman dasar tentang teknik penyemaian yang efektif, diikuti dengan pendampingan langsung untuk memastikan praktik di lapangan sesuai dengan teori. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, serta observasi langsung terhadap hasil praktik di lapangan. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dari 61,18% menjadi 85,56% dengan bibit yang lebih sehat dan siap tanam sebagai indicator keberhasilan. Dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan pendampingan yang intensif, diharapkan produktivitas kelompok tani "Malawo Sejahtera" dapat meningkat secara berkelanjutan.Abstract: Optimal agricultural productivity remains a significant challenge for farmers. This community service program aims to enhance both the hardskills and softskills of the "Malawo Sejahtera" farmer group in Jamaimo Village, Mariat District, Sorong Regency, through socialization and mentoring on vegetable seedling techniques. The activity involved 22 participants from the "Malawo Sejahtera" farmer group and focused on cultivating vegetables such as eggplant, mustard greens, and spinach, which are considered easy to grow and have high economic value. The socialization provided a basic understanding of effective seedling techniques, followed by direct mentoring to ensure field practices aligned with the theoretical knowledge. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure participants' knowledge and skill improvement, along with direct observation of field practices. Results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills from 61.18% to 85.56%, with healthier and more transplant-ready seedlings as an indicator of success. With a participatory approach and intensive mentoring, the productivity of the "Malawo Sejahtera" farmer group is expected to improve sustainably.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to catalog exceptional durians from both the highlands and the lowlands of Fakfak Regency in West Papua Province. The inventory included both highland and lowland durian accessions. In the highlands, there were 8 durian accessions, whereas in the plains there were seventeen. Fruit size, fruit skin thickness, fruit pulp color, fruit pulp thickness, aroma, sweetness level, fruit pulp fiber, seed size, and seed count were utilized as evaluation criteria. Each criterion tested showed variability. This demonstrates that genotypic variability exists among durian accessions from the Fakfak Regency. According to the characterization results, there were six lowland accessions that could be classified as superior in terms of fruit size, thickness of fruit pulp, level of sweetness, pulp fiber, and aroma: Pahger Nkendik, Katemba, Danaweria2, Brongkendik, Air Besar, Kanantare, and Sakartemin. Abstract

ABSTRACT Ebier-Suth Cokran has a land area of 6,200 hectares, with 200 hectares currently being managed to produce dried cocoa beans, which are processed into cocoa powder and chocolate bars. As a company that cares about society, PT. Ebier-Suth Cokran applies an organic farming system in its operations, in line with the company's motto "The social and green company PT. Ebier-Suth Cokran, agroforestry cocoa plantations (by the community for the community)." One of the company's achievements is the Cacao of Excellence Gold Award, an international recognition of the quality of the products produced. However, the results of the FGD indicate several challenges that need to be addressed to maintain the company's productivity in the future. Some of the issues that need to be tackled include: expanding planting areas to meet market demand, planting superior clones with high production potential, rejuvenating cocoa plants and protective trees, using organic fertilizers, and controlling pests and diseases organically without relying on inorganic fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, training programs for youth and women in cocoa bean processing need to be strengthened to support the sustainability of the company.  Keywords: Chocolate; Cocoa; Disease; Fermentation; Organic ABSTRAK PT. Ebier-Suth Cokran memiliki luas lahan sebesar 6.200 ha, dengan 200 ha di antaranya saat ini dikelola untuk menghasilkan biji kakao kering yang diolah menjadi tepung kakao dan cokelat batangan. Sebagai perusahaan yang peduli terhadap masyarakat, PT. Ebier-Suth Cokran menerapkan sistem pertanian organik dalam operasionalnya, sesuai moto perusahaan "Perusahaan sosial dan hijau PT. Ebier-Suth Cokran, perkebunan kakao agroforestry (oleh masyarakat untuk masyarakat)". Salah satu prestasi yang diraih perusahaan adalah penghargaan Cacao of Excellence Gold Award, yang merupakan pengakuan internasional terhadap kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Meskipun demikian, hasil dari FGD menunjukkan adanya beberapa tantangan yang perlu diatasi agar produktivitas perusahaan tetap terjaga di masa mendatang. Beberapa hal yang perlu ditangani antara lain: perluasan areal penanaman untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar, penanaman klon-klon unggul yang memiliki potensi produksi tinggi, peremajaan tanaman kakao dan pohon pelindung, penggunaan pupuk organik, serta pengendalian hama dan penyakit secara organik tanpa mengandalkan pupuk dan pestisida anorganik. Selain itu, pelatihan keterampilan untuk pemuda dan wanita dalam pengolahan biji kakao perlu diperkuat untuk mendukung keberlanjutan perusahaan. Abstract

Percepatan pembangunan pertanian di Provinsi Papua Barat mutlak diperlukan karena sebagian besar masyarakat di pedesaan menggantungkan hidupnya pada sektor pertanian. Selain penghasil komoditas yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan daerah, sektor ini juga menjadi penyedia tenaga kerja terbesar, sumber bahan baku industri, sumber bahan bakar nabati (energi terbarukan), dan sumber pendapatan masyarakat. Usaha peningkatan produksi pertanian di Papua Barat khususnya di daerah sentra-sentra pertanian menghadapi berbagai kendala.  Salah satu kendala adalah rendahnya kesuburan tanah, dimana defisiensi fosfor dan bahan organik merupakan kendala utama. Papua Barat memiliki salah satu sumberdaya alam yaitu Tanah Endapan Fosfat Krandalit (TEFK) seluas lebih dari 100.000 hektar yang dapat diproses menjadi pupuk fosfat-plus. Penelitian tentang pemanfaatan TEFK dan bahan organik yang diproses menjadi pupuk fosfat-plus telah dilakukan dengan menghasilkan produk pupuk “Papua Nutrient”. Hasil penelitian ini telah memperoleh hak paten (ID P0030110). Pengujian pupuk fosfat-plus pada tanaman kedelai telah dilakukan di daerah Transmigran Prafi Manokwari. Kegiatan ini merupakan hilirisasi dari Program Pengembangan Usaha Produk Intelektual Kampus (PPUPIK) dan melibatkan petani. Perlakuan Pupuk fosfat-plus dibandingkan dengan pupuk NPK subsidi dan SP-36 yang dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk pada tanaman kedelai yang ditanam di lahan sawah setelah panen padi berpengaruh tidak nyata baik terhadap komoponen pertumbuhan maupun hasil. Petani merespons positif penggunaan pupuk fosfat-plus, meskipun ketergantungannya  pada pupuk subsidi masih sangat besar. Hasil pengujian pada tanaman padi yang dilakukan oleh petani menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan produksi   sebesar 424,5 kg   beras per hektar  dengan  penambahan  pendapatan  sebesar Rp. 2.694.000,-.Kata Kunci: hilirisasi, krandalit, pupuk fosfat-plus, pertanian.

Abstract

Soil properties and soil fertility status of paddy rice fields are considered important factors related to the yield and production of rice; therefore it is essential to understand those properties across the farm.  The objectives of this research is to quantify the soil properties and soil fertility status of paddy-rice soil and their spatial variability in Oransbari. Forty-two composite soil samples (0-30 cm) were taken across paddy rice fields and analyzed for soil chemical properties and fertility status.  Geostatistical analysis and ordinary kriging interpolation methods were used to quantify soil variability and its fertility status across the farm.  The results showed that total soil Nitrogen ranges from 0.11% to 0.17%), organic-C (1.47-6.94%), C/N ratio (11-47), total-P (13-99 mg 100 g-1), available-P (30-227 mg kg-1), total-K (27-54 mg 100 g-1), soil pH (5.83-6.93), base saturation (70-100%), and CEC is 30.51-51.23 me 100 g-1. The spatial variability of all soil characteristics exhibited medium and fit the stable model, except for available Phosphorus and Potassium.  Most rice paddy fields in Oransbari showed high soil fertility status, which indicated that high-yield rice production can be achieved for this region, however, land management factors should be considered for sustainable land use.

Abstract

Pertanian memainkan peran krusial dalam ketahanan pangan untuk mendukung kehidupan masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam praktik pertanian ramah lingkungan melalui pupuk organik padat menggunakan mikronutrien. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik menggunakan mikronutrien dilaksanakan di kelompok tani Tani “Malawo Sejahtera” Kelurahan Jamaimo, Kabupaten Sorong dengan jumlah petani yang berperan aktif sebanyak 18 orang. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, tingkat pengetahuan peserta mengenai dampak dan kekurangan penggunaan pupuk anorganik meningkat signifikan dari 10% (pre-test) menjadi 85% (post-test). Selain itu, keterampilan masyarakat dalam pembuatan pupuk organik berbasis mikronutrien juga menunjukkan peningkatan tajam, yaitu dari 15% menjadi 88%. Peningkatan ini mencerminkan efektivitas metode pelatihan partisipatif yang digunakan, yang menggabungkan penyampaian materi, diskusi, dan praktik langsung. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, diharapkan masyarakat dapat menerapkan alternatif pertanian berkelanjutan yang lebih sehat bagi lingkungan dan mendukung kemandirian lokal dalam pengelolaan input pertanian.
