Abstract

Background: Islamic spiritual care (ISC) is a holistic religious health service based on Islamic values ​​that emphasizes empathy and friendliness and provides space for patients to perform worship during treatment. This study aims to analyze the correlation between integrating of ISC with the quality of service and patient loyalty, and to determine the most dominant variables influencing patient loyalty. Method: A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted on 176 outpatients, during February–April 2025 on Siaga Al Munawwarah Islamic Hospital, Samarinda, Indonesia. The measuring instruments used consisted of the Islamic Spiritual Care questionnaire (ISCQ), SERVQUAL (Service Quality Questionnaire), and HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), which have been proven valid and reliable. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test and Binary logistic regression Results: The integration of ISCand service quality as good (54,5%) and showed good loyalty (51.7%). There was a significant relationship between integration of ISC and service quality (p = 0.000; r = 0.905), there was a significant relationship between integration of ISC and patient loyalty (p = 0.000; r = 0.787), and there was a significant relationship between service quality and patient loyalty (p = 0.000; r = 0.817). Patient service quality is the most dominant variable influencing patient loyalty (POR = 10.271). Conclusion: Integration of ISC affects service quality and patient loyalty. This finding indicates that ISC needs to be implemented comprehensively and continuously at Siaga Al Munawarrah Islamic Hospital.

Abstract

Introduction: In Indonesia, over 1000 healthcare workers have died due to COVID-19. Healthcare workers face increased workloads and negative perceptions, including discrimination and verbal or physical violence, which may impact their quality of life. Health-related quality of life encompasses both physical (PCS) and mental (MCS) health components. This study aims to analyze the health-related quality of life of healthcare workers who are obliged to service during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia and occupational health and safety factors based on the workplace location risk zone. Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted involving 149 healthcare workers from several areas of Indonesia as representatives from the red and orange risk zones. Health-related quality of life was measured using the SF-36 questionnaire. Differences in health-related quality of life scores were analyzed using Mann-Whitney test base on COVID-19 risk Zone and PPE availability. Results: Healthcare workers in the lower-risk (orange zone) exhibited better mental health scores (MCS 75±15.5) compared to those in the high-risk zone (red zone) (MCS 66.2±15.2). Additionally, those who received a complete set of PPE from their workplace had better health-related quality of life scores workplace (MCS 76.9±14.2, PCS 77±16) than those who lacked such provision (MCS 73±17.6, PCS 82±13.4). Furthermore, healthcare workers with access to PCR testing at their workplace tended to have higher quality of life scores than those who only had access to rapid testing. Conclusion: These findings highlight how the Health System addresses the pandemic, particularly regarding the health and safety of healthcare workers

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah efikasi diri, pusat kendali, dan persepsi tenaga kerja dapat dijadikan prediktor yang akurat untuk memprediksi pencapaian prestasi kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja (K3), serta untuk menguji apakah model pencapaian prestasi K3 yang disusun dengan melibatkan interaksi tenaga kerja dengan lingkungannya cukup tepat. Dengan pendekatan cross sectional, penelitian dilakukan terhadap 200 orang responden pada perusahaan kayu di Kalimantan Timur. Variabel bebas terdiri dari efikasi diri, pusat kendali, dan persepsi tenaga kerja. Variabel tergantung yaitu prestasi K3, sedangkan variabel moderator adalah lingkungan fisik dan kimia kerja. Analisis data menggunakan structural equation model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukan efikasi diri dan persepsi tenaga kerja berhubungan positif signifikan dengan prestasi K3, merupakan prediktor yang paling akurat untuk memprediksi pencapaian prestasi K3 (p=0,007 dan p=0,012). Kedua variabel ini memberi sumbangan efektif terhadap prestasi K3 yaitu sebesar 20,2 % dan 17,3 %. This research was focused on the relationship between worker’s behavior with Occupational Health Safety (OHS) achievement.The purposes of the research is to identify whether worker’s self-efficacy, locus of control and perception can predict OHS achievement, and to examine whether the OHS model engaging workers and work environment interaction are fit. This research was cross sectionally conducted towards 200 respondents in one of plywood plant in West Kalimantan. The independent variable were the worker’s self efficacy, locus of control and perception, while the dependent variable was OHS performance. The moderator variables were physical and chemical work environment. Data analysis used structural equation model. Research findings showed that self efficacy and worker perception have significantly positive relationship with worker’s OHS performance, and could be an accurate predictor to predict OHS performance achievement (p=0.007 and p=0.012), and provided effective contribution to OHS performance as big as 20,2 % and 17,3 % as well.

Abstract

Gangguan muskuloskeletal merupakan masalah kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja yang penting karena masih berkontribusi pada penurunan produktivitas kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan umur tenaga kerja, masa kerja, indeks massa tubuh, dan sikap kerja dengan keluhan gangguan muskuloskeletal pada tenaga kerja wanita di unit produksi bagian kupas di PT SSM Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan desain penelitian cross sectional ini dilakukan pada tenaga kerja wanita bagian pengupasan yang berjumlah 46 orang (total sampling). Variabel bebas penelitian terdiri dari umur, masa kerja, indeks massa tubuh, dan posisi kerja, sementara variabel terikat adalah keluhan gangguan muskuloskeletal. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square dengan level signifikansi 0,05 (5%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan umur dengan keluhan gangguan muskuloskeletal (p = 0,066), terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara masa kerja (p = 0,044), indeks massa tubuh (p = 0,025), dan sikap kerja (p = 0,001) dengan keluhan gangguan muskuloskeletal. Perusahaan disarankan untuk membuat kursi kerja yang ergonomis, melakukan rotasi kerja, dan melakukan pelatihan dengan materi tata cara kerja yang ergonomis. Musculoskeletal disorders are still a health and safety issue that needs to be examined in more depth, because it still contributes to the decline in labor productivity. The objective of this research was to know the relationship between age, working periode, body mass index and work posture with complaint of musculoskeletal disorders. Quantitative research with cross sectional approach has been done on 46 (total sampling) female labor in peeling sections. The independent variables consisted of age, year, body mass index, and work posture, while the dependent variable was the complaint of musculoskeletal disorders. The data analysis used was chi-square test with a significance level of 0.05 (5%). The results showed no association between age with symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders (p = 0,066), there is a significant association between working period (p = 0,044), body mass index (p = 0,025), and work posture (p = 0,001) with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. Companies are advised to make an ergonomic office chair, job rotation, and training with ergonomic material working procedures.

Abstract

Kecelakaan kerja dan penyakit akibat kerja masih menjadi masalah kesehatan dunia, dua faktor utama penyebabnya adalah perilaku dan kondisi lingkungan kerja yang tidak aman. Penelitian sebelumnya membuktikan penyebab utamanya adalah faktor perilaku yang tidak aman. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku tidak aman dalam bekerja pada tenaga kerja di PT IAW dan menganalisis faktor yang paling berpengaruh. Penelitian potong lintang dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2016 terhadap 104 sampel penelitian. Variabel bebas terdiri dari persepsi, komunikasi, pengawasan, ketersediaan alat pelindung diri (APD), pelatihan dan suhu lingkungan kerja. Variabel terikat adalah perilaku tidak aman. Analisis data menggunakan Pearson produk moment dan uji regresi linier berganda. Disimpulkan persepsi (nilai p=0,00, R=0,817), komunikasi (nilai p=0,000, R=0,810), pengawasan (nilai p=0,00, R=0,529), ketersediaan APD (nilai p=0,000, R=0,902) dan suhu lingkungan kerja berhubungan signifikan, sangat kuat, positif dan berbanding lurus dengan perilaku tidak aman, sedangkan pelatihan keselamatan kerja (nilai p=0,092, R=0,166) tidak berhubungan. Persepsi keselamatan kerja merupakan variabel yang paling dominan memengaruhi perilaku tidak aman dalam bekerja. Occupational accidents and diseases remain the global health problem, two main factors for this are unsafe behavior and conditions. Previous study proved that the main cause is unsafe behavior factor. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with occupational unsafe behavior in workers at PT IAW and analyze the most influential factor. A cross-sectional study was conducted from July to August 2016 with 104 samples. Independent variables consisted of perception, communication, supervision, the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), training and workplace temperature. While the dependent variable was unsafe behavior. Data analysis used Pearson product moment and multiple linear regression. In conclusion, perception (p value=0.00, R=0.817), communication (p value=0.000, R=0.810), supervision (p value=0.00, R=0.529), availability of PPE (p=0.000, R=0.902) and workplace temperature are related significantly, very strong, positive and directly proportional to unsafe behavior, while training (p value=0.092, R=0.166) are not related. Perception is the most dominant variable influencing unsafe behavior.

Abstract

Background: Health service quality reflects how well services meet patient satisfaction as it affects patient trust and adherence while also demonstrating the accountability of primary health care facilities. This study aims to examine the impact of service quality on outpatient satisfaction at UPT Puskesmas Sangatta Utara.Methods: This study utilized an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The population included community members seeking care at the North Sangatta Health Centre. A total of 271 respondents were selected based on the Lemeshow formula, using purposive sampling as the sampling method. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that included demographic characteristics and research variables. Data analysis was conducted using a combination of univariate, Chi-square, and multiple logistic regression methods to explore the relationships and effects among the variables.Result: The results showed that variables significantly associated with outpatient satisfaction were technical competence, facility accessibility, service effectiveness, continuity, safety, comfort, information, timeliness, and interpersonal relations (p < 0.05). Service efficiency was not significantly associated with patient satisfaction (p > 0.05). The most influential factor was interpersonal relations, with the highest odds ratio of 2.294 (95% CI: 1.381–3.809).Conclusion : This study demonstrated that outpatient satisfaction at the North Sangatta Health Centre was influenced by multiple service aspects, with interpersonal relations emerging as the most dominant factor. These findings emphasized the importance of improving healthcare workers’ communication and interaction with patients to enhance overall satisfaction.

Abstract

Some of the post-pandemic challenges in urban and rural areas are increasing efforts for clean and healthy living at the family level in tropical rainforest areas. The novelty of this research is that it conducted a household survey based on the indicators of the Healthy Indonesia Program with a Family Approach (PIS-PK). The study aims to identify the characteristics of the community in Samarinda City and measure differences in the practice of clean and healthy living behavior at the household level using the developed PIS-PK indicators. The research method uses a cross-sectional survey at the household level and determines specific locations in 2 household-level groups (RT) in Rawa Makmur Village. The purposive sampling included 100 respondents, and the research variables were respondent characteristics and 12 PIS-PK indicators. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately through Chi-Square analysis. The research results showed a difference in the number of respondents who had babies in Community I and Community II with α0.05 (P-value = 0.022). Generally, there are no statistical differences in almost all healthy family indicators between communities I and II or P-value 0.05. This study concludes that the characteristics of people at the neighboring level tend to be the same in ethnic background, education, marital status, and employment. There is no difference between the 12 indicators of the Healthy Indonesia program and those of the family approach in Community I and Community II.

Abstract

Kecelakaan lalu lintas merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian pada usia remaja dan penyebab kesakitan terbanyak di dunia terutama di negara berkembang seperti di Indonesia. Penyuluhan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman dan kesadaran keselamatan berkendara. Sasaran pengabdian ini adalah siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMP) Yayasan Pendidikan Samarinda (YPS) sebanyak 52 siswa. Siswa diberikan edukasi berkaitan dengan keselamatan berkendara melalui penyuluhan, serta diskusi langsung dengan kelompok siswa. Penyuluhan diberikan setelah sebelumnya siswa diberikan pretest kemudian setelah penyuluhan dan diskusi selesai siswa diberikan post-test untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik paired sample t-tests α = 0.05. Hasil analisis didapatkan bahwa p = 0.239 yang artinya tidak ada perbedaan pengetahuan dan perilaku sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan tentang keselamatan berkendara. Hal ini terjadi karena perubahan perilaku tidak akan dapat terjadi dalam waktu singkat. Untuk melihat adanya perubahan perilaku membutuhkan waktu dan pengulangan pemberian intervensi yang rutin dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Heat strain is a physiological reaction of the body that functions to release excess heat through sweat output, increased body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, and weight loss. PT X is a company that operates in the oil and gas sector. The results of the study found that the workload was not appropriate and the incidence of work accidents that occurred due to fatigue. This study was conducted to see the heat strain complaints experienced by tank overhaul workers in the Oil Refinery Area of PT. X Balikpapan City and the associated factors. This research applied quantitative method with analytical approach and cross-sectional design and the research sample amounted to 80 workers (total sampling). The results showed that heat strain complaints among tank overhaul workers at PT X Balikpapan City are included in the danger zone as many as 39 workers (48.8%). It is concluded that heat strain complaints among workers fall into the danger zone or red zone, there is a relationship between drinking water consumption (r=0.030), physical workload (r=0.039), indoor work climate (r=0.001), and outdoor work climate (r=0.018) with heat strain complaints, and there is no relationship between age (r=0.145) and length of work (r=0.539) with heat strain complaints. The company is advised to provide education on the importance of consuming drinking water to all workers, adjust the amount of work or workload according to the ability of workers, and carry out engineering controls by installing vents.

Abstract

Coal mining is one of the industries that has a high level of danger and risk of work accidents. In 2023, in PT X department Z there were 36 work accidents with the most units occurring in the dump truck unit. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with work accidents in dump truck operators at PT X East Kutai Regency in 2025. This study used a cross sectional study design with 78 respondents who were dump truck operators taken by stratified random sampling. Data collection using questionnaires and CMR (Compliance Monitoring Report) observation sheets that apply at PT.X. Measurement of variables using the Guttman scale based on K3 theory and adaptation of previous research. Data analysis using Spearman rank correlation analysis, the dependent variable is work accidents, and the independent variables include OHS knowledge, OHS training, compliance with SOPs, length of service, work shifts. In this study, 30.8% of workers had experienced work accidents. The results of the bivariate test showed that there was a significant relationship between OHS knowledge (pvalue=0.000), OHS training (p value=0.015), compliance with SOP (p value=0.003) with the incidence of work accidents in dump truck operators. Meanwhile, there was no relationship between the variables of length of service (p value=0.619) and work shift (p value=0.213) with the incidence of work accidents among dump truck operators.
