Abstract

This research is a quantitative research with the quasi experimental research type. The population in this study were all Semester V students of the Mathematics Education Department (TMTK) IAIN Kerinci and the samples were 30 students of VA class through purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation sheets and questionnaires. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model using Telegram Quiz Bot, to find out how the students’ mathematics learning motivation, and to find out how the relationship between the PBI learning model using the Telegram Quiz Bot and the students’ mathematics learning motivation. The findings show that the use of the PBI learning model using Telegram Quiz Bot in the VA class obtained an average value of 3.1 which is included in the "Good" category. The mathematics learning motivation before applying the PBI learning model using Telegram Quiz Bot has an average value of 57.30 so that it is included in the "less good" category and the results for the average value of the mathematics learning motivation after applying the PBI learning model using Telegram Quiz Bot is 81.33 in the "very good" category. There is a significant effect between the application of the PBI learning model using Telegram Quiz Bot and students' mathematics learning motivation in the VA class of 0.607 which is included in the "strong" category.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This article describes a comparison of mathematics learning methods between Japan and Indonesia. In Japan, structured and systematic approaches such as Rikai Kansatsu and Kōryū are applied, with an emphasis on observation, deep understanding, and collaborative work in solving mathematical problems. Teachers in Japan also apply problem solving and open ended approaches, which encourage students to think critically, creatively and independently. In addition, the implementation of lesson study as a scientific activity that involves teachers in developing the theory and practice of mathematics learning is a strong foundation for the method in Japan. On the other hand, in Indonesia, there is a shift towards more inclusive and creative learning approaches, such as the Scientific approach and the Concrete Representational Abstract (CRA) approach. Teachers in Indonesia emphasize more on achieving individual and classical student competencies, with a strong orientation towards learning outcomes. Although the concept of lesson study has been implemented in Indonesia, there are still differences in the development of theories and the application of learning methods. Awareness, support, and collaboration among teachers are key to developing and expanding the application of lesson study and improving the quality of mathematics learning in Indonesia. With increased teacher understanding and participation, the potential of lesson study development and implementation in Indonesia can be optimized to improve students' understanding of mathematics and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Bahan ajar geometri yang tersedia masih belum mewadahi mahasiswa untuk menemukan materi melalui tugas proyek ilmiah, serta masih belum terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai keislaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat efektivitas bahan ajar geometri berbasis modifikasi project Based Learning dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Devepment (R&D) dengan menggunakan model 4-D (define, design, develop, dessiminate). Tahap penelitian ini adalah pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran. Tahap dalam menentukan efektifitas bahan ajar ini adalah tahapan dessiminate. Subjek dalam penelitian ini dalah seluruh mahasiswa Tadris Matematika IAIN Kerinci yang menempuh mata kuliah Geometri. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang terdiri dari 3 pertanyaan. Tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa di analisis menggunakan kategori ketuntasan klasikal kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar Geometri berbasis modifikasi model PjBL efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan memperoleh rerata ketuntasan klasikal siswa adalah 61 dengan kategori efektif.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi penting sebagai bagian dari keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS berbasis budaya Jambi. Penelitian studi kasus ini melibatkan 32 siswa dengan tipe kepribadian sensing dan intuiting. Instrumen penelitian mencakup tes kepribadian MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), lembar tes soal HOTS, dan wawancara. Data dikumpulkan melalui triangulasi sumber dan waktu, dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dengan tipe kepribadian sensing lebih baik (70%) daripada tipe intuiting (56,25%). Temuan ini mengindikasikan siswa dengan tipe sensing lebih efektif dalam mengaitkan dan menerapkan konsep matematika pada soal HOTS berbasis budaya Jambi, sementara siswa dengan tipe intuiting menghadapi kesulitan dalam membangun koneksi matematis, yang mempengaruhi akurasi jawaban mereka. Dengan demikian, tipe kepribadian memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam mengintegrasikan dan menerapkan pengetahuan matematika dalam situasi kompleks. Connection abilities are important as part of higher order thinking skills. This study aims to explore students' mathematical connection skills in solving HOTS problems based on Jambi culture, with a focus on the Kajang leko traditional house and the padamaran cake typical of Jambi. This research used a case study approach involving 32 students with sensing and intuiting personality types. The research instruments included MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality tests, HOTS question test sheets, and interviews. Data were collected through triangulation of sources and time, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students with sensing personality type had better mathematical connection ability (70%) than students with intuiting type (56.25%). This finding indicates that students with the sensing type are more effective in connecting and applying mathematical concepts to Jambi culture-based HOTS questions, while students with the intuiting type face difficulties in building mathematical connections, which affects the accuracy of their answers. Thus, personality type has a significant influence on students' ability to integrate and apply mathematical knowledge in complex situations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir logis matematis siswa kelas VII MTsS Al-Mukhtariyah Ambai dalam menyelesaikan masalah  matematika. Pengumpulan data kemampuan berpikir logis matematis siswa menggunakan teknik tes dan dokumentasi. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah soal uraian yang berjumlah 4  butir soal kemampuan berpikir logis matematis. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan cara mereduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 8 orang siswa kelas VII MTsS Al-Mukhtariyah Ambai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualifikasi kemampuan berpikir logis matematis 50% siswa dikategorikan sangat baik, mampu memperkirakan jawaban serta menyelesaikan persoalan dengan baik dan benar, menyelesaikan dengan kemampuan logis yang dimiliki, serta mampu menarik kesimpulan secara logis sesuai dengan tingkat kemampuan berpikir logis terhapap penyelesasian soal matematika. Selanjutnya, kategori baik dicapai oleh 25% siswa, mampu memperkirakan jawaban dan mampu menyelesaikan persoalan akan tetapi tidak lengkap, serta mampu menarik kesimpulan secara logis sesuai dengan kemampuan logis yang dimiliki. Kemudian terdapat 25% siswa mencapai kategori cukup mampu memperkirakan jawaban serta menyelesaikan persoalan, akan tetapi kurang benar kurang lengkap, dan tidak dapat menarik kesimpulan secara logis karena penyelesaiannya kurang lengkap. Selanjutnya tidak ada siswa yang berkemampuan berpikir logis kategori kurang dan sangat kurang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan garis lurus berdasarkan tipe kepribadian Judging dan Perceiving menggunakan teori Newman. Metode kualitatif deskriptif diterapkan dengan memilih 4 siswa dari kelas XE SMA di Kota Sungai Penuh, 2 siswa dengan tipe Judging dan 2 siswa dengan tipe Perceiving. Instrumen yang digunakan yakni angket MBTI, tes kesalahan siswa, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe Judging sering mengalami kesalahan dalam memahami, mentransformasikan informasi, dan keterampilan proses, sedangkan tipe Perceiving menunjukkan kemampuan yang lebih baik dalam mentransformasikan informasi dan perbaikan yang lebih variatif. This research aims to analyze students' errors in solving straight-line equation problems based on the Judging and Perceiving personality types using Newman's theory. The descriptive qualitative method was applied by selecting 4 students from the XE high school class in Sungai Banyak City, 2 students with the Judging type and 2 students with the Perceiving type. The instruments used were the MBTI questionnaire, student error tests, and interviews. The research results show that the Judging type often experiences errors in understanding, transforming information, and processing skills. In contrast, the Perceiving type shows better abilities in transforming information and more varied improvements.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Mathematical problem-solving ability is a crucial skill influenced by various factors, including personality types. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on extrovert and introvert personality types in the MBTI framework. Methodology: This research was descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected through an MBTI questionnaire to determine students' personality types and a mathematical problem-solving test to assess their abilities. The participants consisted of 11 undergraduate students from the Mathematics Education Department at Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kerinci, who were enrolled in the Mathematical Statistics course. Main Findings: Extroverted students tend to excel in understanding problems and planning solutions; however, they are more likely to overlook careful execution. In contrast, introverted students struggle with planning and do not always review the solutions they have produced. It can be concluded that extroverted students have better mathematical problem-solving abilities than introverted students in the mathematical statistics course. These results highlight the role of personality in cognitive strategies and error patterns during problem-solving. Tailored instructional approaches could help both extroverted and introverted students optimize their problem-solving abilities. The small sample size and single-institution context may limit the generalizability of these findings. Future research is recommended to expand on these insights. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study fills the gap by conducting an in-depth analysis of specific problem-solving behaviors, cognitive strategies, and error tendencies associated with extroverted and introverted students based on the MBTI framework, thereby offering a richer understanding of how personality types affect problem-solving ability.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between student attendance and mathematics learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh using a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consists of 30 tenth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Attendance data and final exam scores were collected through documentation and analyzed using Pearson correlation in SPSS. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between attendance and learning outcomes, with a Pearson correlation of 0.885 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 78.3%. Besides attendance, factors such as motivation, teaching quality, and family and environmental support also influence learning outcomes. Therefore, improving student attendance through engaging teaching strategies and collaborative support is essential for optimizing mathematics achievement.

Abstract

Mengingat pentingnya peranan media dalam proses pembelajaran matematika seharusnya menggunakan alat media pembelajaran yang menarik dan berinovasi. Berdasarkan penelitian di MAN 1 Kota Sungai Penuh bahwasanya siswa hanya menggunakan LKS dan tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Materi yang diajarkan tidak dikaitkan dengan lingkungan sekitar untuk itu peneliti menggunakan proses pembelajaran menggunakan metode yang berbasis etnomatematika dan budaya lingkungannya adalah anyaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa Media Pembelajaran Flipchart Berbasis Etnomatematika yang sangat valid dan sangat praktis dalam membantu siswa dan guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Develomen (R & D). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE yang mempunyai 5 langkah yaitu analisis (analysis), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develoment), implementasi (implementation) dan evaluasi (evaluation). Hasil analisis terhadap lembar validasi materi dan validasi media pembelajaran pada materi barisan dan deret menunjukkan bahwa produk media pembelajaran flipchart berbasis etnomatematika yang dikembangkan adalah sangat valid. Produk media pembelajaran flipchart berbasis etnomatematika juga sangat praktis yang dilihat dari hasil analisis angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa.

Abstract

Pengembangan Lembar Kerta Peserta Didik (LKPD) matematika berbasis geogebra pada materi dimensi tiga untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci diperoleh dari hasil analisis validasi akhir ahli, dengan beberapa revisi LKPD berbasis geogebra yang dikonsultasikan dengan validasi ahli diperoleh skor rata-rata 2,9, sehingga LKPD berbasis geogebra layak untuk digunakan.Efektivitas pengembangan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis geogebra pada materi dimensi tiga untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci ditunjukan dari hasil kemampuan pemahaman konsep yang menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Geogebra memiliki persentase 75,09% > 70%. Ini berarti bahwa pencapaian tujuan sesuai dengan rencana yang telah direncanakan sebelumnya, baik secara individu maupun dalam konteks umum, sangat memuaskan sehingga pembelajaran dengan menggunakan LKPD berbasis Geogebra berlangsung efektif.
