Abstract

Latar Belakang : Rabies adalah penyakit infeksi akut susunan saraf pusat pada manusia dan mamalia yang berakibat fatal karena akan selalu berakhir dengan kematian. Berdasarkan penelitan WHO 55.000 orang meninggal tiap tahun, 95% kematian terjadi di benua Asia dan Afrika. Mengingat bahaya keganasannya terhadap kesehatan dan ketentraman hidup masyarakat, maka usaha pencegahan dan pemberantasan penyakit perlu dilaksanakan secara intensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan masyarakat terhadap pencegahan penyakit rabies. Metode : Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survey. Populasi penelitian ialah seluruh Kepala Keluarga (KK) yang berjumlah 226 KK yang tersebar di 3 jaga/lingkungan, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 77 KK yang diambil dengan cara proportional random sampling. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi oleh responden. Selanjutnya data disajikan menggunakan tabel distribusi lalu dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil : Didapatkan bahwa responden dengan pengetahuan baik sebesar 71,4%, dan yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang sebesar 28,6%. Selain itu didapatkan sikap baik sebesar 57,1%, dan sikap kurang 42,9%. Pada kategori tindakan, didapatkan tindakan baik sebesar 35,1%, dan tindakan kurang sebesar 64,9%. Simpulan: Didapatkan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat baik, serta tindakan yang kurang terhadap pencegahan penyakit rabies. Kata Kunci: Perilaku, Pencegahan, Rabies.

Abstract

Malaria masih menjadi salah satu penyebab masalah kesehatan terlebih lagi di negara-negara tropis dan sub tropis. Tujuan penelitian : mengenalisa hubungan perilaku masyarakat dengan kejadian malaria di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tombatu Minahasa Tenggara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan crossectional yaitu mencari hubungan antara perilaku masyarakat dengan kejadian malaria di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tombatu Minahasa Tenggara. Populasi penelitian adalah masyarakat di empat desa Tombatu yaitu, Desa Betelen, Tombatu, Tombatu 3 Selatan dan Tombatu 3 Timur,  yang dipilih 100 orang untuk menjadi responden. Hasil : penelitian menunjukan bahwa masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan baik sebanyak 54 orang (54%) sedangkan yang berpengetahuan buruk terdapat 46 orang (46%), masyarakat yang memiliki sikap yang positif atau baik terhadap malaria terdapat 92 orang (92%) dan yang masih bersikap negatif atau buruk terhadap malaria sebanyak 8 orang (8%) dan untuk masyarakat yang memiliki tindakan baik terdapat 75 orang (75%) dan yang buruk 25 orang (25%). Kesimpulan : terdapat hubungan perilaku masyarakat dengan kejadian malaria di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tombatu Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara. Saran: perlunya sosialisasi kepada masyarakat untuk meningktkan pengetahuan akan malaria.Kata Kunci : Perilaku masyarakat, Kejadian malaria, Puskesmas Tombatu

Abstract

Leprosy is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. Based on data from the Ministry of Health new cases of leprosy in Indonesia in 2013 and 2014. there were 16.856 and 16.131 new cases respectively. North Sulawesi ranks sixth among the provinces with the numbers highest Case Detection Rate (CDR) per 100,000 population in Indonesia , which is 14.65 per 100,000 population. Registered patients in the city of Manado in 2013 and 2014 there were 67 and 69 people respectively. Leprosy disability level 2 in the city of Manado is quite high, reaching 10.6%. Disability due to leprosy can be prevented. Leprosy patient behavior plays an important role in the prevention of disability due to the disease itself. This study aimed to describe the behavior of leprosy patients in the prevention of disability due to leprosy. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with cross sectional study design. Data collected by in-depth interview techniques and triangulation with samples of 9 people with leprosy patients using purposive sampling. The results showed that the majority of informants knowledge about leprosy in general still lacking, but knowledge in the prevention of disability through regular treatment is sufficient. The attitude of the informants was good and optimistic with the treatment, showed a positive attitude. Most of the actions of the informants in the prevention of disability as a regular treatment has been good, although still need to be optimized. The behavior of the informants was good overall, but knowledge about leprosy in general needs to be improved further. Patients are advised to more actively seek information about the disease and prevention of disability, as well as the necessity for improved education and health promotion concerning leprosy by the health workers.

Abstract

Background: According to the World Malaria Report (2015) by the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of malaria cases in the world declined from 262 million in 2000 (range : 205-316 million) , to 214 million in 2015 (range : 149-303 million) a decrease of 18% . Most cases in 2015 is estimated to occur in the WHO African Region (88%), followed by the South-East Asia Region (10%) and the Eastern Mediterranean Region (2%). The incidence of malaria , which also takes into account population growth, estimated to have declined 37% in the period 2000-2015. Altogether 57 of the 106 countries that previously had a transmission running in 2000 has been able to reduce malaria incidence >75%. More far 18 countries have been estimated to reduce the incidence of malaria by 50-75%. Manado city recorded a number of suspected malaria in 2014 amounted to 1,361 and from 780 people blood sample examined 107 people were found positive as the result. According to available data, the Tikala District always be at the top of the donation morbidity of malaria. This research aim to find whether there is a relationship between community preventive measures with malaria incidence. Methods: The research design used in this study is ananalytic, using cross-sectional study. The data analysis was done manually and by computer for chi-square test. Result and Conclusion: The results of data processing usingchi-square test showed that there was no significant correlation between the incidence of malaria and society precautions p= 0,37(p>0.05). This result suggested that education about malaria and its preventive measures by health center could be improved, as well as the thorough treatment against Plasmodium parasite that infected patients.

Abstract

Obesity is a global problem that taking place across the nations such as Spain (35% in children aged 6-9), Turkey (75% in elementary school children), and Canada (32% in children aged 5-17). The rate of obesity is increasing in Indonesia every year. According to Basic Health Research, overweight and obese children reached 18.8% in 2013. Obesity prevalence in North Sulawesi is 6.4% and 5.3% in Manado. This study aimed to find out parental views regarding physical activity and dietary intervention in obese students in primary schools. This research was conducted in three primary schools in the city of Manado. This study is descriptive study using mixed method. In the first part, quantitative research, we measured body weight and height to determine BMI and the student’s nutritional status. In the second part, qualitative research, we interviewed parents of the obese students. The prevalence of obesity in study schools is 20.9% in SD Garuda, 20.7% in SDN Winangun, and 18.7% in SD GMIM 20. Parents generally feel happy if their children are obese, even though they realize the consequences of obesity and acknowledge that a fat child is not as active and agile as children who are not obese. Parents agree at the idea of obesity interventions and states that obese children need a special program in order to reduce and maintain their weight; despite the fact that some parents put off the intervention program for their obese children.

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the perceptions of the priests about prevention of violence against women. Method: This is a descriptive qualitative study, with grounded theory as the research type. Results: The informants had a good understanding of violence, types of violence, the impact of violence, prevention of violence, efforts in preventing violence, and obstacles faced by the priests in preventing violence against women. Conclusion: Priests of GMIM Viadolorosa in Kairagi Dua have good perception and acceptance on violence against women. Keywords: perception, priest, prevention of violence against women

Abstract

Objective: To describe the behavior of teachers to prevent violence against women. Methods: Qualitative descriptive with grounded theory approach, conducted by focus group discussion and in-depth interview. The research was conducted in Don Bosco Senior Highschool Manado with 10 informants both male and female undergo focus group discussion. Later on, 4 informant were selected based on their answers for in-depth interview. The result were turned in matrices and drawn the conclusions based on Miles and Hubberman qualitative data analysis. Results: The teachers tendency on prevent violence against women was conduted in the classroom while teaching. Shaping the mindset towards gender equality in form of advices and counseling by taking few minutes from the subjects. Conclusion: Three years on highschool isn t enough for both teachers and students to establish the gender equality mindsets. It may take more research about the correlation between earlier age intervention and the success rate to establish the mindset of gender equality.

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a disease caused by dengue virus infection that is still a public health problem. This disease is almost found in almost all parts of the world, especially in tropical and subtropical countries both as endemic and epidemic diseases. Aim: To obtain information about dengue in the city of Bitung.Method: This study is a descriptive study with a cross sectional studies and retrospective approach.Results: Results were obtained from 2015-2017 where there were 346 DHF cases and 8 cases of death.Conclusion: In 2015-2017 there was a decrease in the number of cases from 124 cases to 110 cases, meaning that the role of health workers with the community was effective, but cases of deaths from DHF have not been resolved so that the death rate increased from 2 fatalities to 5 deaths.

Abstract

Abstract: Alcohol is one of the most widely abused substance in the world. Alcohol use is prevalent in the medical field as a preservative and antiseptic. Alcohol abuse can be bad for our health, and can lead to dependence. Alcoholism is the people who are addicted to alcohol. This study aims to obtain an overview of adolescent behavior in the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the village of Sapa environment II Tenga subdistrict, Minahasa southern disctrict. This study is a descriptive study using a survey method to get an overview of adolescent behavior towards alcohol consumption habits. Results and conclusions: Knowledge: 97.8% of adolescent know the bad effects of alcohol on health. Attitude: The adolescent agreed participation of the sociality community, parents, religious leaders, and security personnel in the prevention of the abuse of alcoholic beverages. Action: 71 of 93 adolescents admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.Keywords: alcohol, alcoholism, youth (adolescent), behaviou.Abstrak: Alkohol merupakan salah satu zat yang paling banyak disalahgunakan diseluruh dunia. Penggunaan alkohol yang lazim pada bidang kedokteran adalah sebagai pengawet dan antiseptik. Penyalahgunaan alkohol dapat berakibat buruk bagi kesehatan, dan dapat menyebabkan ketergantungan. Alkoholisme adalah orang yang kecanduan pada alkohol. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh gambaran umum dari perilaku remaja dalam mengkonsumsi minuman beralkohol di desa Sapa lingkungan II kecamatan Tenga kabupaten Minahasa Selatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode survey untuk mendapatkan gambaran perilaku remaja terhadap kebiasaan mengkonsumsi minuman beralkohol. Hasil dan Simpulan: Pengetahuan: 97,8% remaja mengetahui dampak buruk minuman beralkohol pada kesehatan. Sikap: Para remaja menyetujui peran serta masyarakat, orang tua, pemuka agama, dan aparat keamanan dalam pencegahan penyalahgunaan minuman beralkohol. Tindakan : 71 dari 93 remaja mengaku mengkonsumsi minuman beralkohol.Kata kunci: alkohol, alkoholisme, remaja, perilaku.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Malaria merupakan penyakit menular yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan penggunaan kelambu, penggunaan obat nyamuk, penggunaan kelambu dan obat anti nyamuk dan kebiasaan keluar malam dengan kejadian malaria di Puskesmas Wolaang Kecamatan Langowan Timur Kabupaten Minahasa Rancangan penelitian adalah analitik observasional yaitu studi kasus-kontrol. Data diambil dengan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji chi-square. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 112 responden yang terdiri atas 56 kasus dan 56 kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan responden yang tidak menggunakan  kelambu yaitu 42 responden 75,0 % ,yang  menggunakan  kelambu 25 responden 44,6% dengan nilai (p=0,001; OR=3,72 ;CI=1,668-8,297), Untuk responden yang tidak menggunakan obat anti nyamuk yaitu 35 responden 62,5% dan responden yang menggunakan obat anti nyamuk 17 responden 30,4% dengan nilai (p=0,001; OR=3,82 ; CI=1,743-8,388), untuk responden yang  tidak menggunakan kelambu dan obat anti nyamuk 47 responden 83,9% dan responden yang menggunakan kelambu dan obat anti nyamuk 9 responden 16,1%  dengan nilai (p=0,001 ; OR=4,21 ; CI=1,735-10,221), dan untuk responden yang memiliki kebiasaan  keluar malam   yaitu 45 responden  80,4% dan responden yang tidak memiliki kebiasaan  keluar  malam  11 responden 19,6% dengan nilai (p=0,000; OR=18,8 ; CI=7,27-48,6 ).  Terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan kelambu dengan kejadian malaria dengan (OR=3,72), terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan obat anti nyamuk dengan kejadian  malaria dengan (OR=3,82), terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan kelambu dan obat anti nyamuk dengan kejadian malaria dengan  (OR=4,21), terdapat hubungan antara kebiasaan keluar malam dengan kejadian malaria dengan (OR=18,8). Collecting of data by using questionnaire. The analysis done by using univariate analysis which is using Chi-square test. Total of the sample 112 respondents consists of 56 cases and 56 control. While the independent variables show the respondent who not using mosquito net 42 respondent 75,0%, while using mosquito net 25 respondent 44,6%. with the value (p=0,001 ; OR=3,72 ; CI=1,668-8,293). Respondent who not using anti mosquito drugs 35 respondent 62,5%, while using mosquito drugs 17 respondes  30,4% with value (p=0,001 ; OR=3,82 ; CI= 1,743-8,388). Respondent who not using mosquito net and mosquito drugs 47 respondent  83,9% and respondent who using mosquito net and mosquito drugs 9 respondent 16,1% with value (p=0,001 ; OR= 4,21 ; CI=1,375-10,221), and responden with costume activity of  a night out  45 respondent 80,4%  and respondent not have activity of a night out 11 respondent 19,6% with value (p=0,000 ; OR=18,8 ;CI=7,27-48,6). There is a relationship between user mosquito net with the incidence of malaria (OR=3,72), there is a relationship between  user mosquito drugs with incidence of malaria (OR=3,82), there is a relationship between user mosquito net and mosquito drugs with incidence of malaria (OR=4,21), there is a relationship between  activity of a  night out with incidence of malaria (OR=18,8).
