Abstract

The research of Talaud morphophonemics is based on structural linguistic study. There are two sub-disciplines of structural linguistics that contributes in developing and analyzing morphophonemics research, which is morphology and phonology. This research is motivated by the renewal of Talaud language structure and aims to describe the process, formulate rules and identify types of assimilation morphophonemics in Talaud language. This research uses descriptive method. Source of the data is taken from the informants who were native speaker of Talaud language. The data collecting techniques was in terms of observing, oral interactive and note taking. While, technique of analysis data started by describing phonemes, then describing morphemes in the form of free and bound morphemeBased on the result of research, three morphophonemics processes have been found namely processes of change, addition, and deletion of phoneme. From the three processes, phonemic changing process always indicates the sound alignment pattern examined in terms of phonemic homorganic form. For example, the replacement of    / N / to /m/ /n/, /ῃ/, when matched with the word stem beginning with phonemes /b, p/ /d, t/ /h/, respectively. This research has also successfully identified the type of morphophonemics assimilation. The morphophonemic assimilation of Talaud language can be viewed in terms of assimilation types based on where the process occurs and the nature of assimilation. At least there are three types of assimilation based on the place of occurrence, namely progressive, regressive and reciprocal assimilation. On the other hand, the assimilation based on the nature has two types, namely total and partial assimilation. This process of morphophonemics and particularly assimilation is then described in the chart showing the rules of morphophonemics so that, the language phenomena that occur is easily visible. Key words: Talaud language morphophonemics, processes, rules.

Abstract

This study examines the economic welfare of fishermen in Gemeh District, Talaud Islands Regency, with a focus on the financial structure based on fishing yields. The study aims to understand how financial support from fish buyers affects the income and overall economic well-being of fishermen. The financial assistance typically includes capital for fuel, basic family needs, and emergency expenses. A case study approach was used to gather in-depth data on the fishermen's economic conditions. The population consists of fishermen in Gemeh District, while the sample includes those who have adopted a catch-based financial system. Data collection involved interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with fishermen, government representatives, and community members. The data was analyzed using regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between fishing yields (independent variable) and fishermen’s income (dependent variable), alongside other factors like operational costs and financial aid. The regression analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between fishing yields and fishermen's income. Higher fishing yields were correlated with increased income, although high operational expenses often hindered optimal economic welfare. Fishermen who received capital from local fish buyers experienced moderate levels of economic welfare, while those who accessed financial institutions, such as banks, reported better financial stability. Furthermore, the fishermen's reliance on buyers for financial assistance sometimes resulted in increased debt and limited economic mobility. The findings suggest that while fishing yields directly impact fishermen’s income, their overall economic welfare is also influenced by operational expenses and the financial system in place. Fishermen with access to larger capital sources, such as banks, tend to have better financial outcomes than those reliant on local fish buyers. The results underscore the need for policies that reduce operational costs and improve access to fair financial resources, thereby enhancing fishermen's economic independence and well-being. This study concludes that improving the financial structure and providing more equitable access to capital will significantly impact the economic welfare of fishermen. Policies aimed at modernizing fishing tools, reducing operational costs, and offering broader financial options are critical to achieving sustainable economic welfare for fishermen in Gemeh District.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the professionalism of elementary school teachers, the relationship between economic burdens and the level of teacher professionalism, and what economic burdens are wrapped around and most wrapped around teachers in rural areas located in the Modoinding sub-district, South Minahasa district, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. A total of 92 teachers were selected as the sample of this study varying between levels D-II, D-III, and D-IV/S1. In-depth interviews were conducted in this study, and the identification results found that 30 teachers belonged to class IIIa with working periods varying between 10 to 16 years and a salary range between IDR.3,252,900 to IDR.3,570,100. The research results found several types of financial burdens experienced by teachers, and the most wrapped around them are limited salaries, incentives, and debt. It showed that instructors deal with a variety of financial difficulties, the most common being inadequate pay, little incentives, and excessive debt. Their inability to pay for necessities is hampered by these financial difficulties, which also have a negative effect on their concentration and commitment to their work-related obligations. Particularly when it comes to debt, teachers are frequently compelled to look for other means of money, which takes them away from their core responsibility as educators. As a result, these financial constraints may have a negative impact on the standard of instruction underscoring the need for more focused interventions to address these problems.
