Abstract

Morphology is the result of expression of a genotype that is influenced by environmental factors. Plant morphological variations may occur due to the different conditions of the region, these conditions may include differences in geographical location, ecological conditions such as variations in temperature, humidity, nutrition and others. Has done research on the morphology of Bruguiera cylindrica (L.) Blume grown in mangrove forest districts North Siberut Mentawai District. This morphological study aims to determine the morphology B. Cylindrica and compare it with the data that has been there before. This study was conducted in May-June 2015 in the mangrove forest District of North Siberut Mentawai District. The research method used in the study was a survey and a collection directly in the field. Samples contained area of mangrove forests are taken at random and then proceed to describe the morphology of the species B. Cylindica structure. Based on the research that has been dilakkan B. cylindrica can diketahuhi there are some differences in morphological characters on the roots of these species such as shape, color roots, tree height, color of trunks and branches, filotaksis leaves, leaf color, leaf length, flower color, fruit color, length and the diameter hipokotil. Then from this study can also be added some new information that has not been previously reported.Key word: morfologi Bruguiera cylindrica (L.) Blume, mangrove, mentawai

Abstract

The existence of trees in a region could be threatened because of their good forest damage due to natural factors such as fires and landslides, as well as human activities mainly due to illegal logging. This study aims to determine the composition of a tree in Bukit Ace in the sub Kuranji Padang. In this study using a survey method using a combination of methods to make trransek track and map examples. Transects were observed along the 20 meter by 10 mapped sample with a size of 10x10 meter Analysis of vegetation cover density, frequency, dominance, importance and diversity index. Based on research conducted at the Mount Ace Village of Mount Sarik District of Kuranji Padang, tree composition consists of 13 species and 172 individuals where species of trees by people who at least is Anacardium ocidentale ie 3 people whereas species with people most is Xerospermum intermedium (31 people) , Important values ranging between 6.107% - 60.327%, of tree species that have significant value the highest is Xerospermum intermedium is 60.327% and tree species with important value lows are Evodia malayana namely 6.107%, while based on diversity index of forest in Bukit Ace classified as being abundant with value ID 2,351.

Abstract

Danau  Maninjau  dan  Batang  Antokan  adalah  tempat  yang  digunakan untuk rekreasi dan pariwisata di Kabupaten Agam. Kedua aktivitas manusia di sekitar danau atau di sungai mempengaruhi kualitas air, baik dalam fisika dan kimia, dan biologi, dan sangat mempengaruhi kehidupan kerang. Mengingat aktivitas tinggi menangkap "Pensi" Corbicula moltkiana di Danau Maninjau, perlu untuk mencoba untuk melestarikan populasi kerang dan mencari cara budidaya sehingga pemanfaatan yang terus menerus dan dapat meningkatkan perekonomianmasyarakat.  Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  karakter  morfometrik Pensi (Corbicula moltkiana Prime) di dua ekosistem yang berbeda dan faktor fisik-kimia  yang mempengaruhinya.  Penelitian  ini telah  dilakukan  pada bulan Februari 2015 Danau Maninjau dan di Sungai Batang Antokan. Berdasarkan penelitian di Danau Maninjau dan di Sungai Batang Antokan ukuran cangkang seperti  panjang,  tinggi,  lebar,  panjang  engsel,  jumlah  baris  dan  pertumbuhan basah berat di Batang Antokan daging pensi lebih bervariasi bila dibandingkan dengan Danau Maninjau. Namun, ukuran panjang cangkang melakukan di Batang Antokan berbeda dengan di Danau Maninjau sedangkan ukuran lebar dan berat daging basah Pensi tidak berbeda dalam dua habitat. Hubungan antara panjang berat basah daging di Danau Maninjau dan Batang Antokan di berkorelasi sangat erat dengan panjang clam shell mereka. Faktor fisika kimia air di Danau Maninjau dan  Batang  Antokan  di  masih  dalam  kisaran  normal  dan  toleran  di  Pensi (Corbicula moltkiana Perdana) mendukung kehidupan kecuali tingkat substrat organik

Abstract

The population of Maruca testulalis in the long bean (Vigna sinensis) can lower the yield productions. Maruca testulalis attack the part of the pods long bean that left little holes in the pod. In that regard, so the research has been done about population density Maruca testulalis on the long bean plant (Vigna sinensis) in Celebacy Gunung Sarik Seedlings Kuranji Padang City. This research has been done, in January-February 2019 by using Survey Descriptive method which is a direct collector of pods long beans. Purposive Random Sampling technique sample. Sample were taken at 60 days and 70 days. Measured environmental conditions thats temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and pH. Based on the research being done, population density Maruca testulalis on the long bean plant (Vigna sinensis) in Celebacy Gunung Sarik Seedlings Kuranji Padang City 1,3 individual/plant (age 60 days) and 0,95 individual/plant (age 70 days). Population density Maruca testulalis 1,12 individuals/plants and fall in the category of light attack.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Tingkat Keberhasilan Polinasi pada Averrhoa bilimbi L. (Belimbing Wuluh) Tipe Distili telah dilakukan pada Februari sampai April 2008 di lingkungan Universitas Andalas Padang dan Laboratorium Struktur Perkembangan Tumbuhan Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Andalas, Padang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode polinasi buatan (hand pollination) untuk perlakuan polinasi sendiri dan polinasi silang, teknik emaskulasi untuk pengujian partenokarpi. Viabilitas polen dan ukuran polen antara filamen panjang dengan filamen pendek diamati secara deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan polinasi sendiri, polinasi silang dan sifat partenokarpi, membandingkan viabilitas polen dan ukuran polen antara filamen panjang dan filamen pendek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem polinasi pada A. bilimbi cendrung terjadi secara silang dengan keberhasilan pembentukan buah 63,30% - 76,70%, sedangkan polinasi sendiri memiliki tingkat keberhasilan 33,33% - 60% dan tidak didapatkan sifat partenokarpi. Rata-rata viabilitas polen dari filamen panjang tidak berbeda signifikan dibandingkan dengan filamen pendek, sedangkan rata-rata ukuran polen dari filamen panjang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan filamen pendek. Kata Kunci: distili, partenokarpi, polinasi buatan, viabilitas polen

Abstract

Lack of understanding of concepts and facts in the Evolution subject leads to low activity and student learning achievement. That are caused students simply expect information from lectures who are still using regular discussion. The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and student learning achievement at the Evolution course. Learning activities that are studied, among others asking, answering questions, the moderator, presenter on discussions, and taking note of the lecturer. This type of research is a class action research in the class that may have activity and low learning achievement. Learning achievement assessed is cognitive aspect only the cognitive. Increasing of activity and student learning achievement will be done by using the method of group learning plenary discussion. It a method in which all participants can be used to describe a particular topic or concept so the understanding of the participants are expected to be the same. Application of the method plenary discussion on the course of evolution can improve the activity and student learning achievement of Biology education students of STKIP PGRI of West Sumatra

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena belum adanya pembuatan atau penggunaan bahan ajar mandiri berbasis elektronik disekolah. Dengan berkembangnya zaman, bahan ajar yang diciptakan harus disesuaikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan E-handout yang valid pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X SMA. penelitian ini menggunakan model 4-D (Define, Design, Development, dan Dissemination). Hasil validitas yang di dapatkan dari penelitian yaitu sangat valid (90,88%) yang ditinjau dari aspek isi, kebahasaan, didaktik, dan kegrafikan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-handout yang dihasilkan sudah sangat valid.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi pada masa ini menuntut guru untuk dapat merancang dan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang mencerminkan kemajuan teknologi. Kegiatan proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung umumnya siswa telah menggunakan bahan ajar berupa buku paket dan LKS. Namun bahan ajar yang digunakan masih terdapat kekurangan yaitu keterbatasan jumlah dan kurang efiesien. Seiring dengan berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi hendaknya perlu ada keterbaruan bahan ajar yang dikemas dengan menarik dan informatif salah satunya dapat berupa bahan ajar yang dapat diakses menggunakan link yang terhubung menggunakan koneksi internet dengan tampilan berbentuk flipbook sehingga dapat digunakan kapanpun dan dimanapun serta memudahkan siswa dalam proses belajar mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-handout berbasis mind mapping pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan untuk siswa kelas XI SMA yang valid. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model 3D yaitu Define, Design, Develop. Tahap Develop salah satunya uji validitas. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif. Hasil uji validitas dinyatakan sangat valid (98,35%) yang terdiri dari aspek tampilan, pemograman, isi, dan penyajian. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa e-handout berbasis mind mapping pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan untuk siswa kelas XI SMA yang dihasilkan sangat valid.

Abstract

 The difficulties experienced by students in the learning process can be seen from internal factors and external factors. Based on the results of interviews and observations, it can be seen in the form of students' difficulties in the learning process, namely a lot of scientific language, less interesting material causing boredom and lack of enthusiasm, lack of focus making it difficult to concentrate. On external factors such as the teacher's teaching methods, lack of attention and motivation from the family, and student learning methods. The purpose of this study was to find out students's difficulties in learning biology. Sampling in this study used a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling where the total number of students from 4 classes was taken as much as 25% of the total population, so that a sample of 31 students was used as a sample for all students.The instrument used is a questionnaire in the form of a closed statement using a Likert scale and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis quantitatively in the form of percentages. Data analysis by using the percentage (%) of student answers. The result of studentlearning difficulties in biology subjects has high category, internal factors with high criteria and the average percentage of external factors with high criteria. It can be concluded that biggest internal factor causing learning difficulties in biology is the factor of fatigue and the biggest external factor is the family factor.

Abstract

Tinggam Community Forest is a highland tropical forest area in which many types of orchids are found. Orchids generally live as epiphytes, but there are also terrestrial ones. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of natural orchids found in the forest in the Jorong Harapan Tinggam Community Forest, Talamau District, West Pasaman Regency West Sumatera. The research method used is a descriptive survey using a roaming technique by tracing the forest from the outskirts to the forest as a whole. From the results of the study, it was found that there were 16 species, consisting of 13 epiphyte orchids, while the terrestrial orchids obtained were 3 species. The orchid species obtained were: Agrostophyllum lampongense Blume., Arundina graminifolia  Hochr., Bulbophyllum sp., Bulbophyllum angustifolium Lindl., Bulbophyllum plavescens Blume., Coelogyne rochussenii Vriese., Cymbidium Rchb.fcrumenatum spp . dayanum De., Eria iridifolia Hook.F., Eria pilifera Ridley., Grammathophyllum speciosum Blume., Phaius tankervilleae Blume. Robiquatia spatulata Blume., Spathoglottis plicata Roxb., Thelasis carinata  Blume. It can be concluded that the Jorong Harapan area is an ideal habitat for orchid growth.
