Abstract

Pengukuran dimensi tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali dilakukan 6 kali pengukuran mulai umur 0 bulan (baru lahir) sampai 6 bulan.

Abstract

This study aims were to determine the relationship between the parts of the front and rear foot length of bali calf with its parent. The object of the research consisted of 30 breeding calves and 30 individuals namely 15 male and female newborn respectively. Data in the form of measures footlong pieces of stem and parts of the calf leg length were analyzed using linear regression analysis. To determine whether there are differences between the parts of the front and rear foot length between the male with the female calf in a test with test T. The greater the ratio shows the development of long pieces of front and rear legs shows the earlier development. At birth the sizeof the back foot bottom, middle and top of the calf males and females, 63.7%, 46.5%, and 43.5% respectively of the size of its parent. Similarly, the size of the front foot down the middle and upperparts, 59.2%, 46.7%, and 44.9% respectively of the size of its parent. Development of parts of the front and rear leg starting from the bottom, middle and last at the top.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the quality of Sumbawa horse milk at room temperature storage. Each sample (of 5 horse) was divided into 5 cups Beaker and then stored at room temperature. Observations were made as many as 6 times to checked and tested on parameters including pH, alcohol, smell and a flavor test. This study uses a randomized block design (RBD), using 5 horses as a group, and time observations on days 0, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th as a treatment, so tested 30 samples. The results showed that the pH of milk has significantly (P>0,05) lower quality. On the alcohol test showed positive results and the test on the smell and flavor test shaved changes quality after the 2nd day. Of observations Sumbawa horse milk quality decrease very markedly decreased pH (P<0.01) on day 0 to day 1 and significantly (P<0.05) decreased from day 1 to day 2 but not significant (P>0.05) decreased from day 2 to day 3 during storage. Alcohol test resistance at Sumbawa horse milk increasingly distorted and react positively. On the smell and flavor test Sumbawa horse milk taste very significant (P<0.01) deviates smells during storage at room temperature begins 2nd day. To maintain the quality of Sumbawa horse milk should be stored no more than 2 days at room.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the components of feed management that have not been applied intensively in Simantri at Badung Regency and find out that Simantrihas applied feed management intensively. Sampling was done by saturated sampling technique at 50 Simantri. The data obtained were analyzed using hierarchical clusters with dendogram cluster plots with intensive, semi-intensive, and extensive characterizing variables. The results showed feed management components that have not been applied intensively include feeding frequency, feeding time, type of feed given, amount of feed given, and the presence or absence of remaining food. Simantri in Badung Regency which has not implemented intensive feed management as many as 40 Simantri and most of the feed management components have not been applied intensively. The conclusion of this study is that not all Simantri in Badung Regency have applied all components of feed management intensively, and most of Simantri in Badung Regency applied semi-intensive feed management. Suggestions need to be optimized through counseling to achieve a maximum Simantri program.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know immune response of local bali duck post vaccination against Newcastle Disease, as well as the time required to form protective antibody titer. The research used completely randomized design with time as a treatment. The object of research was the serum of local bali duck. Blood was taken when pre-vaccination was done at aged three weeks old of the local Bali ducks, and then at the aged of four weeks old, vaccination was done subcutaneously. Post vaccination blood collection was performed four times in every oneweek intervals. The blood was taken from the cranial tibial vein by using 1 cc syringe. The serum was transferred to the Eppendorf tube. Then the antibody against Newcastle Disease titers were tested by using Hemaglutination inhibition (HI) test and expressed in Geometric Mean Titer (GMT) with units of Log 2. Antibody titer examination pre-vaccination was 0.83±0.408 Log 2. The mean of antibody titer at the first, second, third, and fourth week were 2±0.632 Log 2, 5.5±1.225 Log 2, 1.2±0.983 Log 2, dan 0.16±0.408 Log 2 respectively. The highest titer as well as was protective of the were reached in the second week post vaccination.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effect of mineral Bali cattle reared in the highlands and lowlands. Respectively of three males bali cattle weight between 200-300 kg given treatment without mineral (control), 2.5 grams of mineral/head/day, five grams of mineral/head/day, and 7.5grams of mineral/head/day in cattle reared in the highlands and the lowlands. Giving mineral conducted every day for 3 months, feces taken and counted the number of bacteria. The calculation of the amount of non-coliform bacteria grown on media eosin Methylen Blue Agar (EMBA), while the total the number of bacteria carried by the method spread in the media Nutrient Agar (NA). Theresults showed mineral administration in the highlands has no effect on the amount of non coliform bacteria and total count in bali cattle. While granting mineral lowland has no effect on the amount of non colifom bacteria but significant effect on the amount of total count.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth rate of length dimension of male and female swamp buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) in Central Lombok. This study measured 54 swamp buffaloes (27 male and 27 female) from Central Lombok Regency. The age of buffalo is measured from the age of nine months to 20 months, and each 3 male and female swamp buffalo is measured at the same age. The measurement of body length dimensions carried out every month as many as 18 buffalo consisted of nine male and nine females. So that measurements are made for 3 months. The data obtained were analyzed by multivariant and power regression. The results of the multivariant analysis showed that the growth rate of male buffalo body dimensions was significantly different from the females (P<0.05) in Central Lombok Regency. The results of the power regression analysis showed that the correlation coefficients of each dimension of head, horn, ear, neck, body and male and female swamp buffalo were significantly different (P<0.05). The earliest dimensions of the male buffalo body growth are the dimensions of the head length then followed by body length, tail length, neck length, ear length, and the last is the length of the horn. While the longest dimensions of the female buffalo mud body grow are dimensions of head length, body length and ear length, then followed by tail length, neck length and finally horn length which has a later growth rate.
