Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the growth of some clones of cocoa seeds on peat soils and red-yellow podzolic (RYP). This study has been carried out in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from February to May 2014.  This research arranged experimentaly using completely randomized design (CRD), consisted of 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times then obtained 24 experimental units. Treatment in the test was K1P : TSH 858 Clone on RYP soil;    K1G : TSH 858 Clone on Peat soil; K2P : ICCRI 01 Clone on RYP soil; K2G : ICCRI 01 Clone on Peat soil;   K3P : ICCRI 03 Clone on RYP soil; K3G : ICCRI 03 Clone on Peat soil. Parameters measured were seeds height,  leaves number, stump diameter and leaf area.  Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and further test followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The results showed that treatment of clones in some growth media significantly influence the parameters of stump diameter and leaf area. The results also showed that treatment  TSH 858 clones on peat soil showed good growth compared with other treatments.   keywords : Cocoa, Clone, growth media

Abstract

Palm oil (elaeis guineensis jacq.) are still plant unseeded in the agricultural sector indonesia and especially riau. Area palm oil a plant any it increased. A nursery palm oil is the first step very the success planting in the field, this needs to be done technique cultivation capable of producing seeds quality, one through fertilization in a nursery. Research aims to understand the effects of interaction urine cows and compost rind cocoa and to get treatment best in growth seed palm oil in main nursery. Experimental research conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, from April to August 2015. The research uses design  Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorials consisting of 2 the test 3 and obtained unit experiment 27. Urin beef consisting of C0: without cow urine, C1: cow urine 10 ml/liter, C2: cow urine 20 ml/liter. The compost consisting of K0: without compost, K1: compost 100 g/plants and K2: compost 150 g/plant.Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%.The result showed that cow urine influential real against broad leaves palm oil, but influential not real against high, diameter holm and the number of midrib palm leaves. factor compost rind cocoa show real impact on high, diameter holm and the number of midrib leaves palm oil, but influential not real against broad leaves palm oil. Combination cow urine  20 ml/liter and compost 150 g/plant raise high, holm diameter, the number of midrib leaves and broad leaves palm oil. Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the influence of granting sludge plant oil palm to the growth of oil palm seeds and find the best treatment  for oil palm growth in main nursery. Research was carried out in land of Plant Laboratory – Agriculture Faculty University of Riau, Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru District KM 12.5 Pekanbaru, started from January 2014 to April 2014. This research arranged experimentaly using Completely Randomized Design (CRD),consist by 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times then obtained 24 experimental units. Each experimental unit consist of two plant seed so that the over all number of harvested seeds is 48. The treatment given was giving oil palm mill sludge, comprising: without giving sludge, sludge 500 g/​​polybag, sludge 1000 g/polybag, sludge 1500 g/polybag, sludge 2000 g/polybag and sludge 2500 g/polybag. The parameters measured were the increase of seeds height, increase amount of leaf midrib, increase of diameter hump, dry weight and root crown ratio. The statistical analysis used was tested using analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple test further at level of 5%. The results showed that giving oil palm mill sludge significant effect on seedling height increment parameter, the increase in diameter hump, seedling dry weight and the ratio of the root crown. However,no significant difference in the number of leaves on the parameters. In addition, this study showed that giving oil palm mill sludge in the treatment of 2000 g/polybag tend to give the better effecton the growth of oil palm seeds.   Keywords: Sludge, oil palm, main nursery

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the influence of the interaction of selulolitik microorganisms and the granting of inorganic fertilizers for growing oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) TBM-III. This research was carried out in a single PT. Tunggal Perkasa Plantation in the Air Molek, sub-district Pasir Penyu, District Indragiri Hulu-Riau, starting from February to June. Research using Random Design Group (RAK) and two factors. The first factor is the dose of microorganism selulolitik consists of two levels (0 and 20 ml/plant) and inorganic manures dosage consists of three levels (1, ½ and ¼  dosage recommendations/plant). A combination of treatment between these 2 factors is a combination of 6 with 3 replicates, so that the experiment was a total of 18 units. The Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and in advanced trials Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. The results show a combination of MOS 20 mL/plant and the granting of ¼ x inorganic fertilizers on crops dose Palm in TBM-III shows the interaction of the granting of MOS and inorganic fertilizers best parameter on added rod ring, the length of the rachis, long petiola and the width of the child leaves.   Keywords: Oil Palm, Mikroorganism Selulolitic (MOS) and Inorganic Fertilizers.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identifity the effects and to get the  best dosage of TKKS compost combination with NPK fertilizer in red-yelow podzolic medium for cocoa seeds growth varieties forestero the age of 4 months. This research was conducted at the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Bina Widya street KM 12,5 Pekanbaru. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with some treatment dosage combination of TKKS compost with NPK fertilizer (P) consist of: P1=37.5 g Compost + NPK 7.5 g, P2= 37,5 g Compost + NPK 11.25 g, P3= 37,5 g Compost + NPK 15 g, P4= 75 g Compost + NPK 7.5 g, P5= 75 g Compost + NPK 11.25 g, P6= 75 g Compost + NPK15 g and consist of 3 replication. Data were analyzed statistically using variety of analysis and further test followed by Duncant’s test at 5 % level. Parameters observed were the seeds height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaves widht, root width ratio, dry seeds weight, NPK fertilizer efficiency and it relation with dry seeds weight. The result show by giving some treatment of TKKS compost combination with NPK fertilizer on medium podzolic red-yellow on cocoa seeds growth varieties forestero the age of 4 months not reveal significantly to all observed. Giving P1 tretment tend to produce better growth of cocoa seeds. It is seen from seeds  height, stem diameter and dry seeds weight. Giving P3 treatment gave the largest efficiency of using NPK fertilizer to 46.113%.   Keyword: TKKS compost, NPK fertilizer, Red-yellow podzolic medium, cocoa seeds

Abstract

Hydroponics wick system using AB Mix in some media of planting is expected capable of generating growth and power results of plant crocheted. The research aims to obtain a variety of planting media and the concentration of the best AB mix nutrients for the growth of kailan plants, conducted at the UPT Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2019 to May 2019. Research in the form of 3x4 factorial experiment with Complete Random Design.Consists of 3 types of growing medium, huskchorcoal, cocopeat, sawdust while the nutrient solution consists of AB mix concentrations of 1000 ppm, 1200 ppm, 1400 ppm, 1600 ppm. The parameters observed, height plant, number of leaves, length of leaves, width of leaves, long roots, the diameter of the rod, fresh weight per plant, weight suitable for consumption per plant. Planting medium charcoal husk on the concentration of nutrients 1000 ppm resulted in the growth of plants kailan were good. Keywords: Hydroponics, growing medium and Nutrition AB mix

Abstract

The study on growth production of paddy (Oryza sativa L.) Variety IR-64 in the peat soil given Dolomite andCopper (Cu) through leaves have been conducted at Simpang Baru Village Tampan, Pekanbaru City for 5bohths; starting from February to June 2003. The objective of the experiment was identity the effect ofbolomite and Copper given trough leaves and their interaction on the growth and pnKiuction of Rice in the peatisoil. The experiment was arranged in a randomized factorial block design with three replications. The firstfactor was various doses of Dolomite, that was KO (without Dolomite), K l (Dolomite of 0,5 ton/ha), K2 (Dolomiteof 1,0 ton/ha), K3 (Dolomite of 1,5 ton/ha), and K4 (Dolomite of 2,0 ton/ha). The second factor was various dosesof CuSO,, that was CO (without CuSO,), C I (CuSO, of 100 g/ha), C2 (CuSO^ of 200 g/Tta), C3 (CuSO, of 300g/lia), and C4 (CuSO, of 400 g/ha). Parameters observed were plant height, weight of drayed straw, number ofproductive samplings, percentage of well filled rice grain, weight of 1000 .seeds, weight of rice grain. Experi-ment result show tlrnt Dolomite could improve the growth and production of paddy rice and Chopper significantlyincreased weight of dried straw, percentage of well filled rice grain, weight of 1000 seeds and weight of ricegrain. The interaction between Dolomite and Copper significantly increased the weight of dried straw. Ricegrain production treated with 1,5 ton/ha Dolomite and CuSO^ 400 g/ha given trough leiives wiis 2,97 ton/ha.

Abstract

Durian fruit is one of the most popular fruits in Indonesia. Half of the durian fruit is the peel, which produces a lot of waste. The durian peel is not useful and also has no economic value. Durian peel contains fibers that have the potential to be utilized. The utilization of durian peel fiber as a composite natural fiber is an effort to reduce waste from the peels. Improvement of the properties of durian peel fibers can be applied by alkali treatment of the fibers. The purpose of this study is to obtain the cellulose content, tensile strength and impact toughness of durian peel fiber reinforced polymer composites by varying the alkali treatment of the fibers. The volume fraction of fiber and matrix composite was used 50:50. This study varied 0% alkali, fiber alkali as follows: 5% NaOH, 5% NaOH + 3% H2O2, 5% KOH. The results showed the highest cellulose content of 59.48% in the 5% NaOH + 3% H2O2 treatment. It was found that the optimum tensile strength was 8.58 MPa in the 5% NaOH + 3% H2O2 fiber treatment. The highest impact toughness of 2.8 kJ/m2 was obtained in 0% alkali treatment of fiber composite.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve productivity, the efficiency and quality the spice production process at Bumbu Masak Buya, a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in Dumai, Indonesia. The primary focus is on upgrading outdated production machinery, specifically roasters, grinders, dryers, and sieves. By modifying or redesigning these machines, the study seeks to improve their performance, durability, and safety. A combined qualitative and quantitative research methodology was employed. The initial step involves a comprehensive assessment of the current production process to identify areas for improvement. Subsequently, the design and implementation of machine modifications were undertaken. It involves a detailed assessment of the current production process, followed by the design and implementation of machine modifications. The impact of these modifications was evaluated to measure their effectiveness in enhancing productivity and product quality. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for other SMEs in the spice processing industry. By adopting similar strategies of machine modification, these SMEs can improve their operational efficiency, reduce production costs, and enhance the quality of their products.

Abstract

Kontes Kapal Cepat Tak Berawak Nasional (KKCTBN) held by Pusat Prestasi Nasional (Puspresnas) Kemendikbudristek RI aims to encourage innovation in the design and performance of shipping-maritime technology prototypes. The selection of the right material for the catamaran hull is very important because it affects the strength and weight of the ship. Materials such as fiber reinforced polymer, which uses glass fiber, are often used due to their good mechanical strength. However, natural fibers such as pineapple leaf fiber also have potential as composite reinforcement. The combination of natural and synthetic fibers, such as pineapple leaf fiber and glass fiber, in hybrid composites can improve the mechanical properties of the material. The purpose of this study was to investigate tensile and impact properties of pineapple leaf fiber-glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) hybrid composites. Fiber preparation was carried out by separating pineapple leaf to produce fibers, alkaline treatment using 10% NaOH with a soaking time of 24 hours, and oven drying at 100?C for 60 minutes. Polymer as the matrix used was 50% while the percentage variations of pineapple leaf fiber and glass fiber were sequentially as follows 5%:45%, 10%:40% and 15%:35%. It was found that the tensile strength of the 10% pineapple leaf fiber composite was about 114 MPa and impact strength 49.96 J/mm², density 1.19 g/cm3. The results of this study indicate that the resulting composite can be used as an alternative material in the prototype hull of a catamaran type unmanned speedboat.
