Abstract

Post-pandemic COVID-19 learning that is carried out in a hybrid manner experiences problems, one of which is minimal self-learning supplements, which affect students' understanding of the material. This study aims to develop an e-module using Sigil software on planetary-type starter system material. Hopefully, it can support improving students' knowledge of the material. This research uses the Research and Development (RnD) method with the ADDIE model. The results of this product were tested on a limited basis by using a one-group pretest-posttest design in class XI TKRO-A with 30 students. The results showed that the E-module that had been developed received a very decent category from media experts, who scored 89.26%, and from material experts, who scored 95.5%. The e-module developed can increase the understanding of the material with a gain value of 0.64 with a moderate category, and a score of 93.75% from the students' responses showed that the e-module is feasible. The conclusion is that the e-module developed is very feasible to use in independent learning and the learning process at school.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) menawarkan peluang baru dalam pengembangan promosi usaha, termasuk bagi mahasiswa wirausaha. Namun, pengetahuan dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan AI masih terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada lima tenant wirausaha mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang dalam mengintegrasikan AI untuk pembuatan iklan yang menarik. Peserta dikenalkan dengan ChatGPT untuk pembuatan caption serta Canva AI untuk desain visual. Kegiatan ini juga membahas etika penggunaan AI dalam promosi digital. Tenant yang terlibat berasal dari berbagai bidang jasa seperti perbaikan kendaraan, cuci kendaraan, penyedia trofi, dan jasa pindahan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan teknologi AI secara kreatif dan bertanggung jawab. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dan relevan untuk mendukung pengembangan wirausaha muda berbasis teknologi di era digital.

Abstract

This study examines the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model's effectiveness in improving cognitive learning outcomes of vocational education students. Using a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design, this study involved 60 tenth-grade mechanical engineering students, divided equally into control and experimental groups. The experimental group received the CTL learning model treatment, while the control group used conventional learning methods. A 20-item multiple-choice test based on Bloom's Taxonomy was used to measure students' cognitive learning outcomes. Instrument validation showed good content validity (Aiken's V=0.714- 1.00) and obtained good reliability results as well (ICC=0.730). The experimental group received a higher average post-test score (89.17) compared to the control group (75.83), with the acquisition of N-Gain values in the experimental group (0.7427) and control group (0.4013), with statistical analysis showing a significant difference (p0.05). These findings indicate that CTL effectively improves basic understanding and critical thinking skills. This study supports the integration of CTL into vocational education systems aligned with international priorities of competency-based learning and workforce readiness. This study provides empirical evidence that CTL can improve learning outcomes and equip students with critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Background: This research is motivated by the problems faced by grade XI DPIB students at SMK Negeri 3 Boyolangu, namely the lack of availability of learning media and students' difficulties in determining the basic formula for calculating the volume of building construction. The purpose of this research and development is to produce flipbook-based e-module media on class XI Construction Cost Estimation Subjects; to find out its feasibility and practicality based on experts and students; and to find out the effectiveness of using flipbook-based e-modules in learning.Methods: The method used is research and development (R&D) by applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection instruments using preliminary instruments (interviews and observations), validation questionnaires include media experts and material experts, student response questionnaires, and cognitive test questions (pre-test and post-test).Results: (1) The results of flipbook-based e-module products have advantages in ease of use and a variety of features, including: interactive buttons, backsound for flipping, image pop-ups, youtube video pop-ups, web hyperlinks, and quiz games, so as to be able to present a clearer visualization of the material and encourage student enthusiasm for learning. (2) Media eligibility obtained a score from media experts of 96% and from material experts of 93%, this score is included in the category of very feasible. While the practicality of the media was obtained from the user response questionnaire, obtaining an average percentage of 88% with very practical criteria. (3) The effectiveness of the use of media in learning obtained an N-Gain Score of 0.63 with the criterion "moderate".Conclusion: Based on the test results, it is concluded that the developed flipbook-based e-module media is effectively used to improve student understanding.

Abstract

Perawatan kendaraan merupakan aspek utama dalam mengupayakan performa kendaraan supaya tetap terjaga. Bagi driver online, kendaraan merupakan perangkat utama yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan income. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan dasar perawatan kendaraan bagi driver online. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melakukan one group pretest postest. Subjek uji coba merupakan mitra driver online di kota semarang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pelatihan dasar perawatan kendaraan memberikan peningkatan. Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor pengetahuan dasar perawatannya kendaraan sebesar 63. Setelah mengikuti serangkaian pelatihan dan workshop pretest menunjukkan rata-rata sebesar 83. Dalam hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan sebesar 132% pada pengetahuan dasar perawatan kendaraan bagi driver online di kota semarang.

Abstract

Surface roughness is a critical indicator of machining quality, directly affecting the functional performance and service life of manufactured components. This study aims to optimize the surface roughness of AISI 1045 steel by varying parameters (cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut) using Taguchi L9 orthogonal array. Experiments were conducted on a FANUC 0i-Mate CNC lathe using Al-TiN-coated VNMG inserts. Moreover, the surface roughness was measured in accordance with ISO standards. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) revealed the depth of cut was the most influential factor (45.21%), followed by cutting speed and feed rate. The Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio was identified as optimal surface roughness of 0.323 µm (N5 grade) at the parameter, with a cutting speed of 240 mm/min, a feed rate of 0.2 mm/rev, and a depth of cut of 0.6 mm. The novelty of this study is the demonstration that Taguchi's design and ANOVA combined can achieve reliable optimization results with considerably reduced experimental effort and offer practical industrial deployment, including for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

Abstract

Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Industrial Work Culture learning in vocational schools is often constrained by limited interactive teaching materials, resulting in low student engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. This condition highlights the urgent need for innovative digital learning resources that align with industrial demands and vocational student characteristics. This study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of a K3LH E-Module for vocational education students. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the 4D development model, consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects were 60 tenth-grade students of the Automotive Engineering program at Vocational High School in Semarang. Effectiveness testing was conducted at the classroom scale using an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The results showed that the E-Module was highly feasible, with media expert validation reaching 89.5% and material expert validation 88.9%. Practicality testing indicated a very practical category with a score of 91.3%. Effectiveness analysis using N-Gain yielded a score of 58%, categorised as sufficiently effective. These findings demonstrate that the developed E-Module enhances student learning outcomes and promotes more active participation in K3LH learning. In conclusion, the K3LH E-Module is feasible, practical, and sufficiently effective for use as a digital learning resource in vocational education, with potential for further optimisation to improve learning gains.

Abstract

Abstrak Penggunaan kendaraan listrik merupakan salah satu solusi untuk menekan peningkatan polusi udara yang disebabkan oleh emisi karbon khususnya yang terjadi di kota-kota besar Indonesia. Berdasarkan observasi lapangan maka perlu diadakan kegiatan Edukasi dan Sosialisasi Penerapan Kendaraan Listrik Berbasis Baterai Bagi Driver Online di Kota Semarang Dalam Upaya Green Energy Transportation. Metode yang digunakan adalah penerapan secara langsung. Fokus kegiatan ini adalah: (1) Aspek Pengetahuan Kendaraan Listrik Berbasis Baterai, (2) Aspek Perawatan Kendaraan Listrik Berbasis Baterai: meliputi pelatihan perawatan berkala pada Kendaraan listrik Berbasis Baterai. Terselenggaranya Kegiatan Pengabdian Edukasi dan Sosialisasi Penerapan Kendaraan Listrik Berbasis Baterai Bagi Driver Online di Kota Semarang Dalam Upaya Green Energy Transportation. The method used is direct application. The focus of this activity is (1) Knowledge aspects of battery-based electric vehicles, (2) Maintenance aspects of battery-based electric vehicles, including periodic maintenance training on battery-based electric vehicles. It was implementing Education and Socialisation of Battery-Based Electric Vehicle Implementation for Online Drivers in Semarang City to Green Energy Transportation. Abstract

Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi (HOTS) siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika masih rendah, khususnya pada kemampuan menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh Problem-Based Learning yang diperkaya dengan scaffolding metakognitif (PBL-MS) terhadap peningkatan HOTS siswa. Penelitian kuasi-eksperimental dengan desain pretest–posttest control group melibatkan 60 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Bandung yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen (PBL-MS) dan kontrol (PBL). Data kemampuan HOTS dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis berbentuk esai berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom revisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan HOTS siswa pada kelompok PBL-MS berada pada kategori sedang (N-Gain = 0,51), sedangkan kelompok PBL berada pada kategori rendah (N-Gain = 0,30), dengan perbedaan yang signifikan (Sig. 2-tailed < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi scaffolding metakognitif dalam PBL lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa. Students’ Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in mathematics learning remain low, particularly in analyzing, evaluating, and creating skills, indicating the need for instructional strategies that can better support students’ thinking processes. This study aimed to examine the effect of Problem-Based Learning enriched with metacognitive scaffolding (PBL-MS) on improving students’ HOTS. A quasi-experimental study with a pretest–posttest control group design was conducted at SMA Negeri 15 Bandung, involving 60 tenth-grade students divided into an experimental group (PBL-MS) and a control group (PBL). HOTS data were collected using an essay-based written test developed based on the revised Bloom’s taxonomy, covering analyzing, evaluating, and creating indicators. The results showed that the improvement in HOTS of students taught using PBL-MS was in the moderate category (N-Gain = 0.51), while students taught using PBL alone achieved a low category (N-Gain = 0.30). Statistical analysis indicated a significant difference between the two groups (Sig. 2-tailed < 0.05). These findings indicate that integrating metacognitive scaffolding into Problem-Based Learning provides a stronger effect on improving students’ higher-order thinking skills.
