Abstract

Background: The prevalence of obesity has become a global issue affecting all countries. Physical activity and sedentary behavior are believed to be key factors contributing to obesity. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between physical activity and sedentary behavior with Body Mass Index (BMI) using machine learning algorithms. Method: A total of 280 students from various programs at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia participated in this study (101 males and 179 females), aged between 17 and 23 years. Physical activity was measured using the Actigraph GT3X accelerometer. Seven machine learning algorithms—including Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), local k-nearest neighbors (KNN), Classification via Regression (CVR), decision tree, random forest, and artificial neural network (ANN)—were applied to predict obesity risk. The RapidMiner software was used for testing. Results: Based on the variables of physical activity, sedentary behavior, and demographic factors, SVM demonstrated the highest accuracy (74.22%) among the algorithms. For sensitivity and specificity, ANN and decision tree performed best, with values of 72.27% and 77.5%, respectively. Conclusion: Physical activity, total Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET), and sedentary duration are significant predictors of obesity risk. Promoting physical activity and implementing campus policies are essential to reduce obesity prevalence among students.

Abstract

: In an effort to improve the performance of athletes in sports, there is no other way than by training, practicing seriously and earnestly guided by a well-planned and arranged training program. The phenomenon that often occurs is that there are still many trainers who do not understand how to determine the dose of the right training aspects and in accordance with the needs of athletes and the demands of sports with the situation and conditions of uncertain sports calendarization. Therefore, it is necessary to model or engineer training so that with the time available, a little training process can be useful and meaningful for improving the physical quality of athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the application of undulating training periodization based on exercise goals on increasing power endurance. The research method is experimental, with the design used is one group pretest-posttest, and the sample is 15 people. The power endurance instrument used is the multistage hurdle jump test to measure the lower body, and the clapping push up test to measure the upper body. For data analysis using paried sample t test. The results showed that there was an increase in power endurance after being given a strength training program with undulating periodization based on exercise goals, both for the lower body and upper body. This is evidenced by the results of data processing which shows the significance value of lower body and upper body power endurance 0.00 <0.05. The conclusion is that the application of an exercise program with undulating periodization based on exercise objectives has a significant impact on increasing power endurance.

Abstract

Background: Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) peel contains many chemical compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, polyphenols, and steroids/terpenoids. Breadfruit peel has potential as an antioxidant because it contains phenolic compounds, especially flavonoids and polyphenols. Objective: The aim of this study was to formulate and physically evaluate the preparation of a scrub cream from a 95% ethanol extract of breadfruit peel (Artocarpus altilis) and test its antioxidant activity. Methods: Body scrub cream formulations were prepared using different extract concentrations, such as F1 (no extract), F2 1%, F3 3%, F4 5%, and F5 (Vit C as an equalizer for the antioxidant activity test). Body scrub cream was formulated as an oil-in-water type cream preparation using breadfruit starch as a scrub. Physical evaluation of this preparation consisted of organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, pH, spreadability, adhesiveness, and room-temperature storage tests. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using the DPPH method. Results: The results of the physical evaluation test showed that the body scrub cream produced good results and complied with the requirements of cream products. Antioxidant activity test results show the IC50 value of each formula is F1 (without extract) 107.8 µg/mL, F2 (1%) 72.48 µg/mL, F3 (3%) 56.54 µg/mL, F4 (5%) 43.40 µg/mL and F5 (vitamin C K+) 38.94 µg/mL. Conclusion: Based on these observations, the best formula is Formula 3 because the antioxidant test results are classified as strong, and the physical evaluation tests are considered stable.

Abstract

The motivational climate in sports is a crucial factor affecting athlete performance and well-being in both team and individual sports. This study compares the motivational climate between team and individual athletes. Using a quantitative descriptive method, the research involved 15 handball team athletes and 15 individual taekwondo athletes from West Java, selected through purposive sampling. All participants were female, aged 17 to 26 years, with a minimum of 3 years of competitive experience. Data were collected using the Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire (PMCSQ-2). Results showed that team athletes had a slightly higher motivational climate (M = 44.99, SD = 10.19) compared to individual athletes (M = 41.50, SD = 10.47). Team athletes also scored higher in ego and task orientations, with means of 44.23 and 45.74, respectively, while individual athletes scored 39.62 and 43.38. These findings suggest that team sports foster a more positive motivational climate due to stronger social support and group dynamics. Individual athletes focused more on skill mastery and personal goals, facing greater responsibility. This research provides insights for coaches and managers to improve the motivational climate in both team and individual sports, helping athletes achieve optimal performance and maintain mental health. Coaches should focus on individual athletes' personal achievements and support systems to enhance their well-being.

Abstract

Small Sided Games (SSG) adalah metode latihan yang populer dalam olahraga sepak bola karena dapat mengintegrasikan aspek fisik, teknis, dan taktis dalam kondisi latihan yang menyerupai pertandingan. Metode ini memiliki potensi untuk memengaruhi postur tubuh dan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) atlet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak SSG dengan tiga pola latihan interval, mix, dan piramid terhadap perubahan IMT atlet sepak bola. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latihan interval memberikan efek yang paling konsisten dalam meningkatkan IMT, sedangkan latihan mix menghasilkan hasil yang lebih bervariasi, dan latihan piramid cenderung menunjukkan stabilitas. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa intensitas dan struktur latihan memainkan peran penting dalam memengaruhi adaptasi fisik. Latihan interval dapat meningkatkan metabolisme dan komposisi tubuh secara efektif, sementara metode mix dan piramid lebih cocok untuk tujuan yang berbeda, seperti pemulihan atau pengembangan kapasitas aerobik. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya memilih metode latihan yang sesuai dengan tujuan spesifik atlet dan perlunya pemantauan individual untuk mengoptimalkan hasil. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam mendukung pengembangan program latihan berbasis bukti untuk meningkatkan performa atlet sepak bola.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi mood remaja berdasarkan pola aktivitas fisik menggunakan algoritma machine learning. Aktivitas fisik sering kali berkorelasi erat dengan kondisi emosional, sehingga pendekatan ini dapat memberikan wawasan baru dalam mendukung kesehatan mental. Data dikumpulkan dari 50 remaja mahasiswa melalui perangkat wearable selama 90 hari, mencakup parameter seperti jumlah langkah, durasi aktivitas, intensitas, dan pola tidur. Sementara untuk data mood diperoleh dari skala BRUMs yang sudah diadaptasi dan divalidasi. Algoritma Decision Tree dan Support Vector Machine (SVM) digunakan untuk membangun model prediksi, dengan evaluasi kinerja berdasarkan metrik akurasi, presisi, recall, dan F1-score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Decision Tree lebih unggul dibandingkan SVM, dengan akurasi sebesar 98,44% dibandingkan 97,45%. Decision Tree juga menunjukkan keunggulan dalam interpretasi model dan efisiensi komputasi, yang penting untuk implementasi aplikasi prediktif real-time. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa algoritma Decision Tree merupakan pendekatan yang lebih efektif untuk prediksi mood berbasis pola aktivitas fisik pada remaja. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan sistem pendukung kesehatan mental berbasis teknologi wearable.  This study aims to predict adolescents' mood based on physical activity patterns using machine learning algorithms. Physical activity is often closely correlated with emotional states, making this approach potentially valuable in providing new insights to support mental health. Data were collected from 50 university students using wearable devices over 90 days, including parameters such as step count, activity duration, intensity, and sleep patterns. Mood data were obtained using the BRUMs scale, which had been adapted and validated. Decision Tree and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms were employed to develop the predictive model, with performance evaluated based on accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results showed that the Decision Tree outperformed SVM, achieving an accuracy of 98.44% compared to 97.45%. Decision Tree also demonstrated advantages in model interpretability and computational efficiency, which are crucial for implementing real-time predictive applications. This study concludes that the Decision Tree algorithm is a more effective approach for mood prediction based on physical activity patterns in adolescents. These findings are expected to form the foundation for developing mental health support systems based on wearable technology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of motor educability to basic soccer techniques in students of SDN 2 Pasirwangi. This study used a quantitative descriptive correlational method with a cross-sectional approach, involving 35 12-year-old students selected through random sampling. The results showed that the measurement instruments for motor educability and basic soccer techniques were very valid and reliable, with validity values ​​of 0.940 and 0.998, and reliability of 0.999. The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed. The results of the correlation test showed a significant positive relationship between motor educability and basic soccer techniques, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.894 and a significance of 0.000. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the regression model predicting the contribution of motor educability to basic soccer techniques was significant, with an F value of 131.527 and a significance of 0.000. In conclusion, Motor educability significantly contributes to students' basic football technical abilities at SD Negeri 2 Pasirwangi, so motor learning abilities must be considered in the football learning and training process. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of anxiety on the results of the futsal referee fitness test. Anxiety is a mental factor that can affect physical performance, especially in situations that require accuracy and fast reactions. The method used is quantitative by giving questionnaires to participants before the fitness test consisting of several types of tests, including the sprint test, Coda test, and Ariet test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between anxiety and the sprint test results (p = 0.052), indicating that anxiety did not directly affect the referee's sprint speed ability. However, there was a significant relationship with a positive direction between anxiety and the Coda test (p = 0.002, r = 0.431), meaning that the higher the level of anxiety, the more it affected the referee's performance in the agility test. Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship between anxiety and the Ariet test (p = 0.120), indicating that anxiety did not affect the referee's physical endurance. In conclusion, mental aspects, especially anxiety, can have an impact on the physical performance of futsal referees, especially in terms of agility. Therefore, in referee training, it is important to pay attention to anxiety management and mental readiness so that referees can perform optimally in leading the match.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis korelasi antara tingkat kepercayaan diri dan performa puncak pada atlet futsal profesional. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dengan sampel 30 atlet futsal profesional yang mengisi kuesioner melalui Google Form. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner TROSCI (Trait Robustness of Sport-Confidence Inventory) dan kuesioner performa puncak. Hasil mengindikasikan bahwa kepercayaan diri atlet berada dalam kategori sedang (83%) dan tinggi (17%), sementara performa puncak juga berada dalam kategori sedang (53%) dan tinggi (47%). Analisis korelasi Rank Spearman mengindikasikan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepercayaan diri dan performa puncak (r=0.451, p=0.012). Atlet yang pernah bermain di Tim Nasional memiliki kepercayaan diri dan performa puncak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang belum pernah bermain di Tim Nasional. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kepercayaan diri dalam mencapai performa puncak dalam futsal dan menggarisbawahi perlunya perhatian pada aspek psikologis dalam pelatihan atlet. Pengalaman bermain di level yang lebih tinggi, seperti Tim Nasional, terbukti meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan performa puncak atlet. Disarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya melibatkan lebih banyak populasi dan mengeksplorasi faktor psikologis lain yang mempengaruhi performa puncak atlet futsal profesional.
