Abstract

The environmental crisis, which is a global problem, can be overcome by increasing sustainability awareness. The education for sustainable development (ESD) based global warming module can increase understanding and sustainability awareness. The goal of this research was to create a module based on ESD that deserves to be tested for its effectiveness in raising junior high school students understanding and sustainability awareness of global warming. The development procedure is based on the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate) data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and pretest-posttest questions. The data analysis techniques used are the descriptive qualitative technique, percentage analysis, readability test, validity and reliability test, normality and homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, N-gain test, and effect size test. The results of media and material validation tests show very valid criteria. The results of the N-gain test in the post-test control class showed low criteria, while those in the experimental class showed medium bars. The outcomes of the effect size test in the post-test control and practical classes show high criteria. This research indicates that the modules developed are valid and effective for increasing students' understanding and sustainability awareness

Abstract

Background: Technological advances inside the industrial revolution 4.0 era have encouraged the educational world to offer interactive and contextual learning, mainly in growing better-order wondering abilities inclusive of analysis. The topic of plant and animal cells in science lessons is abstract and often difficult for students to grasp when taught conventionally.Aims: The aim of this study was to develop using plant and animal cell material to enhance the analytical skills of eighth-grade junior high school students.Methods: The stages of media development encompass analysis, design, development, implementation, and assessment. The media was created using Unity and Vuforia software with marker-based tracking techniques and validated by media and subject matter experts.Results: Validation by material specialists and media specialists confirmed validity levels of 96.59% and 96.25%, respectively. Readability (98.12%) and practicality (95%) tests also showed excellent scores.Conclusion: With these results from this study, it could be concluded that the AR-based learning media developed is appropriate for use in science learning because it can present abstract material more interactively and efficaciously in schooling students' analytical talents.

Abstract

Learning Natural Sciences (IPA) in tertiary institutions has a vital role in forming basic scientific understanding and skills in students. One of the innovations needed to improve students' basic laboratory capabilities is developing learning media in laboratory e-catalogs. E-catalog is an electronic-based information system that provides information regarding tools, materials, and equipment available in the laboratory, including information related to laboratory safety. It allows students to access information in a structured and easy-to-access manner. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of a laboratory e-catalog in improving students' understanding and basic laboratory skills using a questionnaire method for 59 respondents from Science Education students in Biochemistry and Genetics courses. Based on data from evaluation results using the questionnaire method, it shows that the science education department's laboratory e-catalog has proven to be effective in increasing students' knowledge regarding the use and storage techniques of laboratory equipment and materials, which can increase students' knowledge regarding basic laboratory capabilities which influence students' interest in learning and the learning process.

Abstract

This research is based on the limited use of learning media which results in students experiencing difficulties in understanding lessons and a lack of learning motivation, which impacts low learning outcomes. This research aims to develop valid, effective, and practical google sites multimedia to improve conceptual understanding and student motivation in the material of the digestive system. The research method used was research and development (RD) with the ADDIE model, namely: analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Validation by material experts showed a "very valid" category with a percentage of 87.74%, while media experts reached 90.22%. The effectiveness test produced a significance of 0.000 (0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest (63.28) and posttest (89.62) scores, with an average increase in N-Gain of 0.72 (high). The learning motivation questionnaire obtained a score of 88.77% (very high). The practicality test by teachers produced 99.10% and and user responses from students 92.07%, indicating this application is very practical. The research results prove that google sites is feasible, effective, and practical to use to improve students' conceptual understanding and motivation in the digestive system topic

Abstract

Peningkatan tren pola hidup vegan mendorong kebutuhan akan pangan alternatif yang sehat, bergizi, dan terjangkau. Jantung pisang merupakan salah satu sumber daya lokal yang mengandung serat, protein, vitamin, mineral, serta senyawa bioaktif, namun pemanfaatannya masih terbatas dan umumnya hanya digunakan sebagai sayuran tradisional. Rendahnya inovasi dalam pengolahan jantung pisang menyebabkan bahan pangan ini belum dikenal luas sebagai alternatif sumber protein nabati yang bernilai tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan inovasi pengolahan jantung pisang melalui pelatihan pembuatan bakso nabati bagi warga Kampung Sanan, Malang, Jawa Timur. Program dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) melalui tahapan identifikasi aset lokal, pelatihan teknis, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi partisipatif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan respon positif, dengan 82,6% peserta menyatakan sangat puas terhadap pelatihan yang dinilai bermanfaat, jelas, dan menarik. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pelatihan ini membuka peluang usaha baru di bidang kuliner sehat seperti katering atau produk olahan nabati, sehingga berkontribusi terhadap penguatan ekonomi masyarakat. Utilization of Banana Blossoms as Bananeat Products as Innovative Products for Home Catering Businesses Sanan Malang Residents Abstract The growing trend of vegan lifestyles has driven the demand for healthy, nutritious, and affordable alternative foods. Banana hearts are a local resource that contain fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, but their use is still limited and generally only used as a traditional vegetable. The lack of innovation in processing banana hearts has meant that this food ingredient is not widely known as a high-value alternative source of plant-based protein. This community service activity aims to introduce innovations in banana heart processing through training in making plant-based meatballs for residents of Kampung Sanan, Malang, East Java. The program was implemented using an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach through the stages of local asset identification, technical training, hands-on practice, and participatory evaluation. The evaluation results showed a positive response, with 82.6% of participants stating that they were delighted with the training, which they considered valuable, clear, and engaging. Thus, this training activity opens up new business opportunities in the field of healthy cuisine, such as catering or plant-based processed products, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the community's economy.

Abstract

This study was prepared with the aim of increasing student’s learning motivation using a game-based learning model through the game LaKaSiSiKu, LaKaTaSiSiPa, and LaKaSiSiHa in class VIII-C students of SMP Negeri 1 Mumbulsari, Jember, East Java Academic Year 2022/2023. The learning motivation referred to in this study, namely the activeness of students both mentally and physically. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), where students are facilitators and observers in learning. This research design uses the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model, which is a research model consisting of four components including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The research subjects were students of class VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Mumbulsari. The object of the research is student’s earning motivation. Data collection techniques used observation and interviews. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results showed an increase in learner motivation, in cycle I of 75.32%, then in cycle II it increased to 79.61%, and increased in cycle III by 90.09%. This means an increase of 14.77%. Thus, the use of game-based learning models in science subjects can increase the learning motivation of students in class VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Mumbulsari.
