Abstract

The Covid-19 disease that was detected at the end of 2019 quickly caused a pandemic, and became a global health issue. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Deep Breathing (DB) are exercises that can reduce blood pressure, heart rate, stress, lactic acid production, anxiety and pain. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of PMR and DB on anxiety (anxiety) and quality of life (quality of life) of COVID-19 patients. The research design used a quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest with the control group. The research was conducted at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a sample of 28 people, with 14 people in each group. Data were analyzed using paired t test. The procedure was carried out with 30 minutes of treatment every day for 5 consecutive days. There was a significant effect between the mean anxiety score before 43.08 (SD ±4.22) and after treatment 45.67 (SD ±2.41) and Quality of Life before 24.43 (SD±4.58) and after treatment 26.07 (SD ±3.58). The results of the difference in mean obtained p value = 0.00 on anxiety, and p = 0.01 on quality of life, or p value < 0.05. The results of the study concluded that there was a significant difference in the average difference between the PMR and DB intervention groups in reducing anxiety and increasing quality of life in Covid-19 patients. It is recommended for nurses to make PMR and DB one of the independent nursing interventions in providing nursing care to Covid-19 patients.

Abstract Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels. Abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both are causes of elevated blood glucose levels. Management of diabetes mellitus must be handled properly, to avoid complications. The management of the five pillars of diabetes mellitus control is applied to prevent complications and improve the quality of life of diabetics. Diabetics have five pillars that must be adhered to. Abstract

Aging is a process of tissue degeneration in which body function decreases, causing postural balance disorders, which can result in an increased risk of falls in the elderly. Postural balance disorders can be controlled with non-pharmacological therapy, namely balance exercise. This research aims to determine the effect of balance exercise on the level of postural balance in reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. This research uses quantitative research data with the Quasy Experiment method. The number of samples was 31 respondents. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Statistical tests use the Pairet Sample test. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the risk of falls in the elderly before and after doing balance training. The results of the paired sample test obtained pvalue: 0.000 < 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an influence between balance training and the risk of falls in the elderly. The benefits of balance training are that it helps increase muscle strength in the lower extremities (legs) and improves the vestibular system/body balance.

Abstract

Background: Premenopause syndrome triggers more severe physical and psychological problems and the emergence of various diseases. The limited research on the factors causing the severity of Premenopause syndrome has resulted in a lack of efforts to address the causative factors. Purpose: This study aims to explore factors that influence the severity of premenopause syndrome.Method: This is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. Eighty-eight women aged 40-45 years were included in this study. The knowledge, attitude, age of menarche, use of hormonal contraceptives, and symptoms of premenopause syndrome observed in this study—data analysis using chi-square and multiple logistic regression. Results: Factors that influence the severity of premenopause syndrome are knowledge, attitude, age of menarche, and use of hormonal contraceptives (p<0.001). Knowledge is the most dominant factor (Exp(B) = 25.983; p<0.05)Conclusion: These results underscore the importance of increasing the knowledge of premenopause women to reduce the severity.
