Abstract

The phenomenon of fatherlessness, the absence of a father figure in a child's life, is increasingly common and impacts students' psychological aspects, including self-esteem. This study aims to describe the condition of fatherlessness, the level of self-esteem, and the relationship between the two in students at SMAN 1 Ranah Pesisir. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with a sample of 62 students taken through a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the condition of fatherlessness was in the high category, while self-esteem was in the low category. There was a weak negative relationship between the condition of fatherlessness and self-esteem. These results indicate that the higher the condition of fatherlessness, the lower the level of self-esteem of students. Therefore, it is important for parents, especially fathers, to be physically and emotionally present in their children's lives

Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) Description of fatherless Students, 2) Description of Student Character, 3) the influence of fatherless on Student Character. This research uses a correlational quantitative descriptive research method. The population of this study is 30 people. Sampling technique using total sampling. The instrument used in this research is the questionnaire. Data analysis in this study is percentage and simple linear regression using SPSS 22.0. The results of this study show: 1 Fatherless in SMA N 02 South Solok is in a low category. 2) The character of the students at SMA N 02 South Solok is in the bad category. 3) There is a Fatherless Influence on the character of students at SMA N 02 South Solok with a low coefficient with a score of 32%. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended to students, to improve the role of fathers as guidance teachers for their children. Then on the character aspect, namely, moral knowing is able to understand or know about good morals, so that it can form a good character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kondisi fatherless dengan tingkat insecure pada peserta didik. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada fenomena meningkatnya kasus fatherless yang berdampak pada perkembangan psikologis remaja, khususnya pada rasa percaya diri dan kepercayaan sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik yang mengalami kondisi fatherless, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket yang divalidasi oleh ahli, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kondisi fatherless dengan tingkat insecure peserta didik. Artinya, semakin tinggi kondisi fatherless yang dialami, maka semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan insecure yang dirasakan oleh peserta didik. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi pendidik, orang tua, dan konselor sekolah untuk memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap peserta didik yang mengalami kondisi fatherless, khususnya dalam mengembangkan kepercayaan diri dan kesehatan mental mereka.
