Abstract

This research tried to improve the test instrument at advanced calculus 2. The objectives of this research was to test instrument the valid and good based on problem solving. This research uses 4-D development model of Thiagarajan (1974) which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research only ended up at the stage of develop. Test validity processed by test proporsion, whereas testing of result analyzable by validity, and reliability. Product of the research show (1) the test instrument developed was proved to be valid by the validator with the following averaged scores 3,05 and 3,18 from the maximal averaged score 4, (2) the analysis of experiment producted test instrument which validity and reliability. Based on the overall findings from this research we can conclude that the test instrument were proved to be valid, and good. Key words : test instrument, problem solving, 4-D

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul aplikasi komputer penelitian berbasis pemecahan masalah dan kontekstual yang valid, dan mengimplementasikannya dalam pembelajaran sehingga diperoleh pembelajaran yang praktis dan efektif. Data kevalidan diperoleh dari penilaian ahli, data kepraktisan diperoleh dari angket respon dan data observasi dosen dalam mengelola pembelajaran, sedangkan data keefektifan diperoleh dari data angket motivasi belajar, kemandirian belajar dan data tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa. Kevalidan dan kepraktian dianalisis dengan uji proporsi, sedangkan data tentang keefektifan diolah menggunakan uji one sample t test, uji regresi linier, dan uji independent sample t test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh: 1) modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, 2) data angket respon siswa dalam kategori sangat baik, dan kemampuan dosen dalam mengelola pembelajaran dalam kategori baik, sehingga dapat dikatakan pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan, 3) kemampuan pemecahan masalah secara statistik memenuhi batas ketuntasan yang ditentukan (65), motivasi belajar dan kemandirian belajar mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 35,1%, dan kemampuan mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan modul aplikasi komputer berbasis pemecahan masalah dan kontektual lebih baik dari pada mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini dapat dikatakan bahwa pembelajaran efektif. Kata kunci: Pengembangan modul, Pemecahan masalah, Kontekstual Abstract This Research and Development was aimed at developing valid contextual and problem-based module of Operation Research and Computer Application which was then implemented in Mathematics education as an effort of creating practical and effective learning processes. It covers three measurements of module development. They are validity, practicality and effectiveness. The validity of the module development was from the experts’ assessment, the practicality of it was gained form the mathematics lecturers’ responses of a questionnaire and the observation of learning management, while the effectiveness of module usage was revealed from a questionnaire of students’ motivation, learning independency, and a problem solving test. The validity and practicality of the module were analyzed through a test of proportion, and the effectivity of it was processed using one sample t-test, linear regression analysis, and independent sample t-test. The results of the research showed that 1). The module content was valid, 2). The learning process in which the module was used fulfilled the practical criterion. The indicators are the students’ response toward the use of the module was good and the learning process was managed well, 3). The students’ ability in completing problem-based test reached the minimum criterion of learning mastery (65). A point to add is that the students’ learning motivation and independency gave positive effect on their ablity in problem-based with 35,1%. On a whole, the students, who joined lessons in which the contextual and problem-based module of Operation Research and Computer Application was used, had better abilities than those who learned the material without the module. It can be concluded that the learning process run effectively.Key words: Module Development, Problem-based, Contextual

Abstract

The objectives of this research was to construct description on student’s mathematical cognitive ability in SMP Muhammadiyah Sumbang viewed from learning style and gender on topic of rectangular. The research method was descriptive qualitative. The research population was students of 7th Grade A and D with purposive sampling technique. Students were divided into six groups and two students from each group were selected as respondents. Test, interview and documentation were used as the data collection. The results indicated: 1) Male and female students with visual learning style could not have knowledge of five indicators of mathematical cognitive ability as follow: to propose presumption, to make mathematical manipulation, to draw conclusions, to construct evidence, to give reasonable evidence for solutions, to examine argument validity, and to find path of mathematical indication. 2) Male and female students with auditory learning style could have knowledge one indicator of mathematical cognitive ability as of to find path of mathematical indication. 3) Male students with kinesthetic learning style could have knowledge of one indicator of mathematical cognitive ability as of to make mathematical manipulation. 4) Female students with kinesthetic learning style could have knowledge of one indicator of mathematical cognitive ability as of to propose presumption. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research is aimed to identify errors on working paper which is written by the students observed from mathematic communicative competence. This research is included descriptive research. The subjects of this research are the students of mathematic department that get remedial in lesson matematika sekolah 4. There are nineteen students. The data is taken from the working paper which is written by the students. The sample is taken using purposive sampling technique. The working paper that is used include: (1) statistic; (2) exponents and logarithms; (3) sequence and series. Based on the research can be concluded that: errors on working paper which is written by the students observed from mathematic communicative competence are: (1) inconsistencies and inaccuracies in using mathematic symbol; (2) unability in describing inequality solution; and (3) less capable in showing tables and informative issues. Abstract

Penelitian dan Pengembangan ini difokuskan untuk mengembangkan modul statistika deskriptif berbasis pemecahan masalah. Modul dikembangkan menggunakan tahapan perencanaan, perancangan, dan pengembangan yang diadopsi dari model pengembangan Thiagarajan. Modul dikatakan valid berdasarkan penilaian validator; dikatakan praktis berdasarkan hasil angket respon mahasiswa; dan dikatakan efektif berdasarkan hasil ujicoba modul berbasis pemecahan masalah. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa modul memenuhi kevalidan dengan rata-rata 3,45 dari rata-rata maksimal 4,00. Hasil angket respon memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan dengan rata-rata 4,47 dari rata-rata maksimal 5,00. Sedangkan hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa memenuhi kriteria keefektifan yang ditunjukkan dari hasil uji One-Sampel t-Test bahwa pemecahan masalah mahasiswa telah mencapai KKM yang ditentukan. Berdasarkan ketiga hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa modul berbasis pemecahan masalah memenuhi ketiga kriteria tersebut, yaitu: valid, praktis, dan efektif. Research and development are focused on developing descriptive statistics based on problem-solving modules. Modules produced using the stages of planning, design, and development adopted from the Thiagarajan development model. Modules are said to be valid based on validator ratings. They are supposed to practice based on the results of the student response questionnaire; and assumed to be effective based on the results of the module-based problem-solving trials. The validation results show that the module meets validity with an average of 3.45 out of a maximum of 4.00. The response questionnaire's results matched the practicality criteria, with an average of 4.47 out of a maximum of 5.00. While the test results of students ' problem-solving abilities meet the effectiveness criteria shown from the results of the One-Sample t-Test that students' problem solving has reached the specified KKM. Based on the three results show that the problem-based module meets the three criteria, namely: valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether problem-based learning models have an influence on increasing students' ability to solve mathematical problems. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was the method used in this study. The systematic stage of this review literature is planning, reviewing and documentation. The data analysis technicque used is data grouping, dara analysis, and data conclucion. The results of the study showed: (1) There is an increase in students' ability to solve problems using the Problem-Based Learning model, (2) the Problem-Based Learning model becomes an alternative for teachers in developing students' problem-solving skills, (3) comic media becomes an alternative in delivering material as a driver of problem-solving abilities. students, (4) students' ability to solve problems is influenced by various factors, it is necessary to optimize the factors that influence student problem solving.

Abstract

There are many problems faced by students when studying statistics material. These problems cannot be separated from the learning carried out. This article will provide an overview of how to implement Problem Based Learning assisted by web applications. The type of research used is a case study with a quantitative descriptive approach. Collecting data using tests and student response questionnaires. While the data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical test. The results of the learning implementation showed that the students were enthusiastic in participating in the learning carried out and the scores obtained by the students were quite good. However, the next learning process needs to optimize the learning media used and provide more opportunities for students to organize problem-solving, especially for problems that require high-level thinking.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah melakukan pelatihan guru-guru matematika alumni Pendidikan Matematika UMP dalam menyusun artikel ilmiah dan mempublikasikannya dalam jurnal ilmiah berindeks sinta. Hal ini perlu dibiasakan kepada guru-guru matematika sebagai proses pengembangan diri berkelanjutan yang dapat bermanfaat pada peningkatan kemampuan dan proses kenaikan pangkat. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, praktik, dan pendampingan. Target luaran dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah melakukan pelatihan untuk guru-guru matematika alumni Pendidikan Matematika UMP dalam menyusun artikel ilmiah. Selain itu, keberlanjutan dari kegiatan ini adalah dihasilkannya artikel ilmiah guru-guru matematika alumni Pendidikan Matematika yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional berindeks sinta. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan angket, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru sebagai mitra, karena dapat memberikan informasi dan menambah motivasi mitra dalam menulis artikel dan mempublikasikannya. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini juga dapat meningkatkan kerja sama institusi dan meningkatkan peran aktif dan kepedulian alumni dalam pengembangan program studi.

Abstract

Setiap permasalahan yang dihadapi membutuhkan penyelesaian yang terbaik. Kemampuan penalaran abduktif memberikan kesempatan untuk memanfaatkan semua informasi yang tersedia sehingga diperoleh solusi terbaik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran abduktif siswa SMP Negeri 1 Sokaraja ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Kemampuan penalaran abduktif merupakan kemampuan penalaran yang dianggap lebih baik untuk menemukan solusi terbaik daripada kemampuan penalaran deduktif dan induktif. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan mengambil 3 siswa dari kelompok gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya belajar visual sudah memenuhi indikator menemukan menemukan fakta-fakta berdasarkan hal yang diyakini, memilih strategi terbaik dengan alasan yang logis dan menerapkan strategi yang dipilih. Namun siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki kelemahan yaitu tidak bisa menemukan fakta yang bersifat tersirat pada soal yang tidak disertai dengan gambar. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori sudah mampu memenuhi indikator menemukan menemukan fakta-fakta berdasarkan hal yang diyakini, menyebutkan beberapa strategi yang masuk akal untuk menyelesaikan masalah, memilih strategi terbaik dengan alasan yang logis dan menerapkan strategi yang dipilih. Sedangkan siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik sudah mampu memenuhi indikator menemukan menemukan fakta-fakta berdasarkan hal yang diyakini, memilih strategi terbaik dengan alasan yang logis dan menerapkan strategi yang dipilih. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik cenderung hanya menemukan satu strategi penyelesaian saja.
