Abstract

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is a non-communicable disease that is a public health problem and the number is increasing both in the world and in Indonesia. So good self-management skills are needed in effort to improve the patient's ability to manage CHD risk factors, compliance with taking medication and achieving reduced blood pressure. The development of technology makes the use of mobile phones a necessity. Therefore, mobile phone-based self-management interventions are expected to be effective in improving patients' ability to self-manage to achieve medication compliance and reduce blood pressure. Increased compliance with taking medication and a decrease in blood pressure. The design used is a case study with an innovative design in the form of applying research results regarding mobile phone-based self-management interventions for coronary heart disease patients. The self-management intervention took the form of personal education using e-booklets and short WhatsApp text messages for 8 weeks. And the standard questionnaire consists of MMAS8 and SCC HDI. It is known that there is a decrease in systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), as well as a decrease in total cholesterol levels. Apart from that, there was an increase in patient medication adherence scores and an increase in the self-management ability of CHD patients. There was a significant effect of mobile phone-based self-management intervention on medication adherence, SBP and DBP values, total cholesterol, and self-management abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the purpose of human creation in the study of the Quran. This research uses qualitative approach and literature review method. Based on the results of the discussion, humans are seen as a "small universe" (micro-cosmos, al-alam al-shagir) which is a mirror of the great universe (macro-cosmos, al-alam al-kabir). It means that the human self represents or reflects the entire universe or universe. Man has the basic potential of reason and heart, as well as two dimensions within him, namely the physical dimension and the spirit dimension with these provisions man can relate to God and to other beings that God created. In carrying out life on earth, humans have two important roles, namely being servants of God and caliphs. Man as a servant of Allah means obedience, submission and obedience worthy only to Allah. As for in carrying out his Caliphate man needs to prosper and maintain the earth by acting justly towards all creatures on earth.

This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The data collected was analyzed with an interactive data analysis model which includes the process of condensing data, presenting data, and finally concluding the results. Then the researchers conducted a verification process with data triangulation to maintain data validity. The results showed that the implementation of religious character education through madrasah culture was carried out through religious activities, routine activities, exemplary and habituation. Through the implementation of these activities, it is hoped that it can provide provisions and indications for the personality of students to become a generation that has good morals, adab, spirituality and behavior.

Abstract

Aims: Pleural effusion, characterized by the abnormal accumulation of pleural fluid, poses significant health risks and often necessitates interventions such as water seal drainage (WSD) placement. Diaphragmatic breathing exercises (DBE) are non-invasive techniques that may enhance pulmonary recovery and expedite WSD removal by optimizing respiratory mechanics. Despite the potential benefits, limited research has explored their effectiveness in patients with pleural effusion. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of diaphragmatic breathing exercises in enhancing pulmonary recovery and expediting WSD removal in pleural effusion patients at Persahabatan Hospital, Jakarta, Indonesia. Methods: A quasi-experimental, single-group pretest-posttest design was employed. Seventeen adult patients diagnosed with pleural effusion undergoing WSD placement were recruited through purposive sampling. Participants performed DBE twice daily for 15 minutes over seven days. Pulmonary recovery and WSD outcomes were assessed using a validated Pulmonary Recovery Assessment Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Results: The mean age of participants was 51.71 years (±10.12), with 64.7% female. Peak current respiration significantly improved from 103.53 L/min (±36.22) pre-intervention to 165.52 L/min (±75.28) post-intervention (p = 0.000). DBE also reduced the duration of WSD placement, indicating enhanced pulmonary recovery. Participants reported high feasibility and acceptability of the intervention. Conclusion: Diaphragmatic breathing exercises significantly improve pulmonary recovery and expedite WSD removal in pleural effusion patients. These findings highlight the potential of DBE as a cost-effective, non-invasive adjunct in respiratory rehabilitation. Further research with larger sample sizes and long-term follow-up is recommended to validate these results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the cultural leadership strategies of the Head of the Master of Islamic Education Management (MMPI) Study Programme at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in shaping the institution's quality culture. The background of this study stems from the Head of Study Programme's success in bringing MMPI to achieve ‘Excellent’ accreditation within one year, even though the study programme is still relatively young. This research uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design according to James P. Spradley (1979), which is relevant for exploring the value systems, norms, and habits that shape the academic culture of the institution. The research setting was in the MMPI programme environment with participants selected purposively, consisting of the Head of the Programme, the Secretary of the Programme, lecturers, educational staff, and students. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentary studies, then validated through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. Data analysis was conducted interactively using the Miles and Huberman model, which included reduction, presentation, and drawing and verification of conclusions, accompanied by cultural meaning interpretation based on Spradley's ethnographic framework. The research results revealed three main cultural strategies: (1) building family traditions and work consistency, (2) displaying managerial exemplary behaviour that fosters trust and collective motivation, and (3) fostering a culture of quality through reflective and evaluative habits. These strategies create a collaborative academic climate, strengthen the cultural identity of the institution, and have a tangible impact on improving the academic quality performance of the MMPI at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
