Abstract

       Kebesaran dan keagungan Tamansiswa  yang dibangun semenjak tahun 1922 yang lalu ternyata tidak pernah luntur;  adapun salah satu indikatornya ialah setiap dilaksanakan kongres yang berperiode empat tahunan selalu saja diikuti secara cermat dan penuh perhatian bukan saja oleh keluarga Tamansiswa sendiri akan tetapi juga oleh masyarakat luas.  Masyarakat selalu menanti "political statement" apa yang dilontarkan pasca kongres.  Begitu juga halnya dengan Kongres XVII Persatuan Tamansiswa kali ini yang berlangsung dari tanggal 15 s/d 20 Juli 1996 di Yogyakarta.       Kongres kali ini sedianya akan dibuka secara langsung  oleh Pre-siden RI Soeharto,namun karena beliau "sakit" dan harus mengadakan medical chek-up di Jerman maka ditugaskan Menko Polkam Soesilo Sudarman untuk mewakilinya. Pembekalan peserta kongres antara lain dilakukan oleh Mendikbud Wardiman Djojonegoro serta Pangab Jen-deral Feizal Tanjung. Sedangkan penutupannya dilakukan oleh Menko Kesra Azwar Anas.        Kongres yang diikuti oleh 500-an peserta dari cabang-cabang Ta-mansiswa diseluruh pelosok Nusantara ini akhirnya membuat berbagai keputusan penting;  baik keputusan yang berlaku secara internal orga-nisasi maupun yang berlaku eskternal menyangkut kepentingan bangsa dan negara Indonesia.        Salah satu keputusan strategis ialah perlunya segera  didesiminasi sekolah unggul versi Tamansiswa di berbagai daerah yang berpotensi.  Sekolah unggul dipandang sebagai salah satu manifestasi dari konsepsi pendidikan keunggulan untuk mempersiapkan anak-anak bangsa yang berkualitas. Karena hanya dengan manusia-manusia yang kualitaslah maka bangsa ini akan sanggup bersanding dan bersaing dengan bangsa-bangsa lain di dunia ini. Inilah "political statement" Tamansiswa; bukan soal politik praktis tetapi soal pendidikan bangsa.

Abstract

       Barangkali masih ingat pertengahan tahun 1996 silam kita pernah dikejutkan oleh dua publikasi ilmiah yang dilakukan oleh World Eco-nomic Forum (WEF) serta Institute for Management Development (IMD) mengenai daya saing ekonomi Indonesia di pasar internasional. Pasalnya adalah kedua lembaga yang relatif independen tersebut telah  menempatkan posisi Indonesia jauh di bawah posisi Malaysia;  hal itu berarti bahwa daya saing ekonomi Indonesia masih tidak sekompetitif daya saing ekonomi Malaysia.       Oleh WEF Malaysia ditempatkan dalam kelompok sepuluh besar dengan Indeks Kompetisi (IK) 0,91 pada peringkat ke-10; sedangkan Indonesia dengan IK -0,38 pada peringkat ke-30.  Sementara itu oleh IMD posisi Malaysia juga ditempatkan jauh di atas posisi Indonesia;  yaitu Malaysia ditempatkan pada peringkat ke-23,  sedangkan Indonesia pada peringkat ke-41.       Baru-baru ini kita "dikejutkan" lagi oleh publikasi ilmiah lainnya; kali ini oleh Majalah Asiaweek tentang "daya saing" atau mutu pen-didikan tinggi. Majalah ini memuat 50 perguruan tinggi di Asia dan Australia berdasarkan urutan kualitas; dan dari urutan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas perguruan tinggi kita masih jauh dari optimal.       Secara umum kualitas perguruan tinggi di Indonesia ada di bawah Jepang, Australia, Hong Kong, bahkan Malaysia.  Riilnya: University of Malaya dengan nilai 64,25 menempati peringkat ke-11, sedangkan ITB Bandung dengan nilai 59,46 hanya berada di peringkat ke-19.  Di sisi lain Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (nilai 59,45) ada di peringkat ke-20,sementara UI Jakarta (49,45), UGM Yogyakarta (46,94), Unair Surabaya (45,96),  dan Undip Semarang (43,77) masing-masing hanya berhasil menempati peringkat 32, 37, 38, dan 42.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Pasraman management, inhibiting and supporting factors, how to overcome inhibiting factors and the results of Pasraman education in realizing culturally intelligent students at Padma Bhuana Pasraman Yogyakarta. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The technique used in data collection is by direct observation, direct interviews and documentation. Data obtained from observations and interviews with informants were analyzed using triangulation data analysis techniques. The results of the study are: 1. Padma Bhuana Saraswati Pasraman Management carries out planning, organizing, implementing and controlling together. Planning is done by determining fixed programs, short-term programs and long-term programs. Organizing by dividing groups of types of activities and assigning teachers and pasraman managers. The groups are divided into 3 groups, namely religious learning groups, arts and culture learning groups and social activities groups. Implementation of the program is carried out regularly every Saturday starting at 09.00-15.00 for religious learning groups and arts and culture groups. Meanwhile, for the group of social activities, preparations are carried out before the activities are carried out with the intensity of time as needed. In the supervision, the manager applies the attendance method and learning evaluation. Education management carried out with the cooperation of teacher managers and parents is very much needed in the success of learning activities at the Padma Bhuana Saraswati Pasraman; 2. Supporting factors and inhibiting factors in providing education are: Supporting factors, namely the solidity of the core management, parental commitment, government support and support from pasraman teachers. Some of the inhibiting factors are the limited time of parents, the presence of new members and the condition of the students who get bored quickly; 3. The inhibiting factor step is to use an area/block system that is used to collaborate with or invite to go together when parents cannot deliver students. The steps taken to overcome the limitations of new members are to carry out intense socialization and provide special attention and services, while to overcome the boredom of students quickly are to convey creative, innovative learning and insert games that provide prizes and punishments; 4. The results of education at Paraman Padma Bhuana Saraswati are shown by six indicators, namely pasraman students who have ethics/morals, independence, social care, achievement, able to preserve culture and commitment to the state as well as high tolerance.

Abstract

The effect of Parent’s care, Religion knowledge, and Teacher’s Figure to the Quality of Student’s Characteristic in SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the Academic year of 2013/2014. Tesis. Yogyakarta: the Graduate Program, Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University of Yogyakarta. This research was aimed to know the effect of parent’s care, religion knowledge and teacher’s figure that wanted to improve the quality of student’s characteristic in SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the Academic year of 2013/2014. The subject of this research was class IX, SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the Academic year 2013/2014 that consist of 109 students. The sample was 84 students that were taken by proportional technique. The sample sum was decided by using sample decision table from Issac and Michael. The data collection used random sampling, questionnaire. It was tested by students of class IX in SMP N 3 Sewon. The first hypothesis test used double regression analysis, the second   hypothesis to forth hypothesis used partial correlation analysis. The result of this research show that (1) it can be found the positive effect that was significant parent’s care, religion knowledge and teacher’s figure to the quality of student’s characteristic in SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the academic year of 2013/2014, if parent’s care, religious knowledge, and teachers' figure is hight so th quality of student’s characteristic is hight (2) it can be found the positive effect that is significant parent’s care to the quality of student’s characterictic in SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the academic year of 2013/2014, if parent’s care is hight so the quality of student’s characteristic is hight, (3) it can be found the positive effect that is significant , religion knowledge to the quality of student’s characterisic in SMP N 3 Sewon, Bantul in the academic year of 2013/2014, if  religion knowlwdge is hight so the quality of student’s characteristic is hight,  (4) it can be found the positive effect that is significant teacher’s figure to the quality of student’s characteristic in SMP N 3 Sewon, bantul in the academic year of 2013/2014, if teacher’s figure is hight so quality of students characteristic is hight.

Abstract

This study aims : [1] to develop an information system as one of the alternative data management of student report to be more effective. [2] resulted in an application of  Information System of Curriculum 2013 student report using web-based [3] to determine the feasibility of the product Information System of 2013 Curriculum student report using web-based. The study subjects are an assessor of Information Technology and Communication who evaluated the design and the initial product, fourteen teachers did the test of the first operational products and fifty-four teachers evaluated the second operational products. The research data are qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data captured was to determine the correctness of the design, the correctness of system   and security of systems, that used in the  checklist evaluation form and narrative questions, while quantitative data captured was to examine  the feasibility of the  products covering aspects of the web display, based on presentation   and  the effectiveness and the efficiency using  the questionnaires. The results of this study show that: [1]  Information System of curriculum 2013 student report is good, from the aspects of the display, the presentation and it has   high effectiveness and efficiency as the data  management of students report [2] Information System of curriculum 2013 students  report using web-based has also high productivity. In general Information System of 2013 Curriculum is feasible as the   data management of curriculum 2013

Abstract

The object of research is to know and discuss deeper about 1) the implementation of human resource management at SMA Negeri 3 Magelang. 2) the Effectiveness of management for human resource in SMA Negeri 3 Magelang in increasing of school quality. 3) the factors that support and obstruct the management of human resource in increasing the school quality at SMA Negeri 3 Magelang. The research is a descriptive-analytical nonstatistical research by using the qualitative approach and case study.  The collecting data is through on observation, which the researcher functioned as an instrument for making on observation nonparticipant, deep interview and primer data resource and documentation study. The data is analyzed by using interactive analysis through 3 activities that are a reduction, display, and concluding. The validity of data is obtained through prolongation of participant and triangulation data. Based on the research is described that The result of the research data can be described that the management of SMA Negeri 3 Magelang human resource in general based on the deep observation and interview result supported with the document study has been very good. The effectiveness of human resource management in SMA Negeri 3 Magelang in terms of its efforts to improve the quality seen from the internal customer satisfaction perspective of teacher and staff, as matter of fact, it can be categorized as good, although this category has not fully touched all aspects of the satisfaction, especially aspects of physical development. Factors supporting the human resource management in SMA Negeri 3 Magelang in improving the quality of education: First, the school's vision that tries to do “ Prestige Work”. Second, the school leadership is democratic, participatory. Third, the human resource which always undergoes the improvement of the capability. Fourth, adequate available facilities support every activity. And fifth, a conducive culture that encourages the school community to keep improving their quality and ability. Factor-factors that can inhibit the human resource management in SMA Negeri 3 Magelang in the effort of improving the quality of education are: First, the welfare that still needs attention, especially for the teachers and staffs who are still private. Second, the clarity of career needs to be concerned, if this does not endeavor, it is worried it will also be able to influence and disturb the totality of their professional work. Third, the quality is not optimal qualified and valid communication in his socialization.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to describe the management of professional development of teacher’s in implementing the curriculum 2013, by expressing (1) the strategy undertaken in the framework in implementing the curriculum, (2) management the implementation of professional development of teachers implementing the curriculum 2013, (3) inhibiting factors in the implementation of professional development of teacher‘s in the implementation of curriculum 2013 in the state senior  high school 1 of Wonosari. The research method used was a qualitative method. Data collection was done by interviews, documentation and observation. The process of data analysis began by examining all of the data available from various sources, from interviews, observations that have been written in the field notes, personal documents and official documents. The results showed that: (1) strategies implemented in the framework in implementing the curriculum 2013 carried through the stages of planning, organizing, implementation,  monitoring, and evaluation that goes with good and satisfactory (2) Implementation of teacher professional development program realized in the form of activities that include: training, implementation and preparation of classroom action research (CAR), implementing lesson study and implementation of workshop curriculum 2013 The factors that hinder the implementation of teacher professional development programs in implementing the curriculum 2013, among others: (a) Internal factors including: the ability and commitment of teachers in the completion of the task, (b) external factors, including: training events which are materially less ready (c) the workload of 24 hours (d) the difficulty of determining the exact time of program development. Steps taken by the principal in overcoming these obstacles include: (a) holding the selection of participants training Dikpora organized by Province and Ministry of National Education (b) Optimizing dissemination after activities of workshops outside of school, (c) conducting the program at the time of semester holidays or after the learning process is completed, and (d) to cooperating with relevant competent agencies DIY Province namely LPMP  (e) intensifying the activities of MGMP.

Abstract

The aim of research is to know and discuss deeper about 1) the implementation of headmaster supervision include planning, organising, implementation, and controlling in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, 2) the substances that supervised by headmaster for teachers at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, 3) the strategy in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, and 4) the obstacles, feedback and problem solving of headmaster supervision in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta. The research is a descriptive by using the qualitative approach. The informants consist of the headmaster, vice headmaster, teachers, committees, students and parents student. The collecting data is through on observation, deep interview, and documentation. The data is analyzed by using reduction, display, and verification. The validity of data is obtained through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The result of the research shows that 1) the management supervision of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta has been good. The headmaster has done supervision schedule, estimate planning, ordered a senior teacher to help supervising, controlling and workshop. 2) the substances that supervised are learning administration, implementation, and learning control, 3) the strategy in increasing teachers performance has done by increasing planning ability, implementation and evaluation learning., 4) the obstacles in management supervision are the schedule of supervision and the problem is solved by using consultation the headmaster, senior teacher who ordered to help to supervise and curriculum vice headmaster to get deal of the effectivity schedule supervision.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to (1) describe the class management expertise in the field of fashion, especially with respect to educational facilities and infrastructure management, educational materials and teaching staff at SMK 6 Yogyakarta, (2) Describe the student work readiness skills program in fashion SMK N 6 Yogyakarta. This research is a case study using a qualitative approach. The location of this research will be carried out in school SMK Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. In the process of data collection, the researcher as the key instrument that directly goes into the field (class) through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis that carried out in this study is a model Interaktive Analysis of Miles and Huberman. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded, that (1) Class management at SMK N 6 Yogyakarta in conducting education in the field of fashion expertise can be considered good. It can be seen from the aspect of education facilities and infrastructure management, educational materials and teaching staff. (2) the student’s readiness to work at SMK N 6 Yogyakarta can be considered good. It can be seen from (a) the readiness of students in the field of education or professional, (b) student readiness and cooperation in the social field or relationships with others, and (c) the readiness of students in the field of psychological and personality or attitude. The readiness of the students’ work can be considered as a form of success of SMK N 6 Yogyakarta in conducting effective classroom management, according to the orientation of vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of: (1) academic supervision, participation in MGMP, and motivation to work together against the performance of SMK teachers in Kulon Progo, (2) the academic supervision against the performance of SMK teachers in Kulon Progo, (3) the participation in Teacher’s Group Discussion (MGMP) against the performance of SMK teachers in Kulon Progo, and (4) work motivation against the performance of SMK teachers in Kulon Progo. This study is an ex-post facto study using quantitative approach. The research was conducted at SMK in Kulon Progo Regency with a total population of 474 vocational high school teachers and samples were taken of 198 teachers by proportional random sampling. The data was collected by a questionnaire. The data processing techniques consist of 1) the classical assumption test which consists of normality test, linearity test and test multicollinearity test, 2) correlation analysis and 3) multiple regression analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a significant positive influence of academic supervision, participation in MGMPs and work motivation on the SMK teacher’s performance in Kulon Progo. (2) There is a significant positive influence of academic supervision on the SMK teacher’s performance in Kulon Progo. (3) There is a significant positive influence of the participation in MGMP on the SMK teacher’s performance in Kulon Progo. (4) There is a significant positive influence of work motivation on the SMK teacher’s performance in Kulon Progo. These facts indicate that the higher or better academic supervision, participation in MGMP and work motivation results in the higher or better teacher’s performance, but otherwise the lower or worse academic supervision, participation in MGMP and work motivation results in the decrease of teacher’s performance produced. In maintaining the good teacher’s performance, the school should facilitate the implementation of academic supervision, active participation in MGMP and the teachers themselves are motivated to perform well.
