Abstract

This systematic literature review examines dialogic feedback research in English Language Teaching (ELT) based on 23 empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025. Following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, the review applied a rigorous selection and screening process to ensure transparency and replicability. Six main modalities of dialogic feedback are identified: face-to-face dialogic feedback, written dialogic feedback, technology-mediated dialogic feedback, peer dialogic feedback, supervisory dialogic feedback, and teacher professional development dialogic feedback This typology reflects variations in feedback interaction modes, participants, and instructional settings, offering a more nuanced framework for understanding how dialogic feedback operates across formal and informal learning contexts.  These modalities promote interactive, learner-centered feedback processes across varied learning environments. The analysis highlights four key educational outcomes: improvements in writing proficiency, enhanced feedback literacy, increased learner engagement and reflection, and the development of learner autonomy and self-regulation. These outcomes demonstrate a consistent pedagogical value of dialogic feedback in supporting active learning ecosystems. Research trends reveal three chronological phases: early conceptual exploration, empirical classroom application, and recent growth in digital feedback practices. Studies predominantly employ sociocultural theory, dialogic pedagogy, feedback literacy, and self-regulated learning frameworks. Methodologically, the field has advanced from qualitative designs to mixed method and quasi-experimental approaches, mostly within Asian EFL university writing contexts. Notable gaps include the lack of longitudinal studies, minimal focus on speaking skills, and underrepresentation of diverse geographical and educational contexts. Future research should address these gaps by expanding skill focus, geographical coverage, and methodological rigor to ensure more equitable and effective dialogic feedback practices in ELT.

Abstract

Abstract

The handling of narcotics crimes in Indonesia remains a persistent legal and social challenge, especially in balancing punitive measures with rehabilitation efforts. This empirical legal research investigates the implementation of prosecution termination policies using a restorative justice approach in narcotics cases and analyzes their compatibility with the principles of Maqasid al-Shari‘ah. Field data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 key informants, consisting of prosecutors, judges, police investigators, religious leaders, and former drug offenders who had undergone restorative justice proceedings. Additional data were obtained through direct observation of mediation sessions at the prosecutor’s office and the analysis of legal documents, including case files and institutional guidelines. The field findings reveal that the application of restorative justice is still limited and discretionary, often depending on the initiative of individual prosecutors and the willingness of victims or communities to engage in non-litigation settlement. While some prosecutors have successfully used this approach for first-time or non-distributor offenders, significant legal and structural constraints remain—such as the absence of detailed operational guidelines, lack of coordination between institutions, and limited public understanding of restorative mechanisms. Nevertheless, the study finds that the use of restorative justice aligns substantively with the goals of Maqasid al-Shari‘ah, particularly in protecting life (hifz al-nafs), intellect (hifz al-‘aql), and religion (hifz al-din), by prioritizing rehabilitation, mental health recovery, and spiritual reintegration over mere incarceration. Restorative practices, such as sulh (mediation) and community involvement, are also consistent with Islamic legal traditions emphasizing compassion, reconciliation, and prevention of greater harm (dar’ al-mafasid). The academic contribution of this study lies in offering a normative-empirical synthesis between Islamic legal principles and restorative justice practices, providing a conceptual and policy framework for the transformation of narcotics prosecution models in Indonesia. It emphasizes the importance of integrating maqāṣid-based reasoning into contemporary criminal justice reform to foster a more humane, rehabilitative, and socially responsive legal system.

Abstract

Speaking is often perceived as one of the most challenging skills in learning English, including among Grade X Broadcasting students at a vocational high school in Yogyakarta. To address this issue, a Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of the One Minute Sharing (OMS) technique in enhancing students’ speaking ability. The OMS technique requires students to speak spontaneously for one minute on selected topics, and in this study, it was implemented over two research cycles. Initial observations and a pre-test revealed low speaking proficiency, with an average score of 63 and only 15% of students meeting the Minimum Mastery Criterion (SKM). Furthermore, many students lacked confidence, and only one-third demonstrated strong motivation. In Cycle I, the average speaking score increased to 70, with 63% of students achieving SKM, and motivation levels rising to 60%, although some hesitation persisted. In Cycle II, improvements were made by incorporating more engaging activities, providing direct modelling and feedback, and offering small rewards as appreciation. These refinements resulted in an average score of 80, with 86% of students meeting SKM and an equal percentage reporting greater motivation and confidence in speaking English. The findings indicate that providing regular, individual speaking opportunities through OMS can substantially improve speaking ability, enhance motivation and self-confidence, and foster better classroom engagement. Therefore, the OMS technique can be considered an effective and practical instructional strategy for promoting autonomous speaking practice, particularly in vocational high school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the performance of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Central Sulawesi Province. In this study researchers used the theory of Moeheriono (2012: 162-163) which consists of criteria of Responsiveness (responsiveness), Responsibility (responsibility) and Accountability (accountability). The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection was carried out using observation, documentation, and interview methods. The determination and number of informants in this study are parties who are considered to know in depth various matters concerning research problems totaling 5 (five) people. While data analysis techniques include data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study show that the performance of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Central Sulawesi Province has not run optimally, this is due to the non-achievement of performance indicators used in this study such as aspects of responsiveness that have not been maximized due to Human Resources within the scope of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Central Sulawesi Province which is still limited, especially in the placement of executive positions not in accordance with the competence of employees in the agency in carrying out its duties. The aspect of responsibility has not run optimally due to frequent delays in completing tasks due to frequent procrastination of work, the accountability aspect has been running well in the application of the Core Values of ASN BerAKHLAK but still needs to be socialized again, considering that these values are new things that need to be applied and used as guidelines for the implementation of duties by each ASN in providing services.
