Abstract

Early mobilization is a therapeutic approach involving physical activity or patient mobilization that begins early after medical procedures, such as surgery, especially in the context of intensive care unit (ICU) care. The purpose of this study was to prevent complications associated with immobility, such as muscle weakness, decreased physical function, and cardiovascular problems, and to accelerate patient recovery. The research method used a literature review with a search for relevant articles using semantic science. This study is in accordance with the keywords that have been found and refers to the criteria for dysarthria and speech therapy, the overall search results for articles from 3 databases contained 350 articles. After filtering the full text obtained 10 journals from scientific articles published in the last 5 years (2019-2024), which showed that there was an influence of the externalization socialization method combined with internalization in improving the implementation of early mobilization in the inpatient ward. Research with an orthogonal design showed no influence of the externalization socialization method combined with internalization in improving the implementation of early mobilization.

Abstract

Cancer is a chronic disease that not only affects patients physically, but also causes significant psychosocial distress. These psychosocial aspects have been shown to reduce patients' quality of life, yet are often overlooked in clinical practice. In fact, psychosocial-based interventions can strengthen emotional resilience and improve overall therapeutic outcomes. This review aims to evaluate the contribution of psychosocial aspects to cancer patients' quality of life based on recent scientific literature. This study was a systematic literature review by searching articles from two major databases, namely PubMed and Google Scholar, within the period 2020-2025. The search strategy was organized based on the PICO framework using keywords such as “psychosocial factors”, “quality of life”, and “cancer patients”. From a total of 180 articles found, 28 duplicate articles were eliminated, leaving 152 unique articles. The next stage of screening was done by reviewing the titles and abstracts, so 79 irrelevant articles were excluded and 73 articles continued to the next stage. At the eligibility assessment stage, 32 articles were selected after full-text reading and evaluation based on the inclusion criteria, which included discussing the relationship between psychosocial aspects and the quality of life of cancer patients, being available in full-text format, and written in either English or Indonesian. Finally, an in-depth evaluation of the quality and relevance of the articles was conducted, resulting in only 10 articles being deemed eligible for analysis in this literature review. The literature review indicated that psychosocial aspects such as anxiety, depression, coping, social support, and spirituality were shown to determine the quality of life of cancer patients. Psychosocial aspects are important determinants of cancer patients' quality of life.

Abstract

The presence of Rottboellia exaltata weeds is one of the factors causing crop failure in agricultural land such as corn cultivation. Praxelis clematidea weeds and lerak fruit were found to have allelopathic effects in suppressing the growth of many plants. This study aims to determine the effect of P. clematidea and lerak fruit extract formulations on the germination and growth of R. exaltata weeds. The study was conducted from July to October 2025 in Bandar Lampung City and the Weed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The study used a completely randomized block design (CRBD) with 5 replications. The treatments consisted of 5 formulations of P. clematidea and lerak fruit extracts, namely P0 = control (without extract); P1 = 50% P. clematidea extract; P2 = 50% lerak fruit extract; P3 = 25% P. clematidea extract + 75% lerak fruit extract; P4 = 50% P. clematidea extract + 50% lerak fruit extract; P5 = 75% P. clematidea extract + 25% lerak fruit extract. The results showed that post-emergence application of a mixture of P. clematidea extract + lerak fruit extract inhibited weed growth. The inhibitory effect of 75% P. clematidea extract + 25% lerak fruit extract was higher than that of other formulations on weed height, number of leaves, dry weight of shoots, dry weight of roots, and total dry weight of weeds. The low crown/root ratio, weed toxicity level of 78.67%, and the highest weed suppression percentage of R. exaltata at 67.64%.

Abstract

Myopia is the most common refractive error among school-aged children and a growing public health concern, particularly in developing countries. Although parental myopia is widely recognized as a genetic risk factor, evidence from Indonesia, especially among children aged 10 to 12 years, remains limited and inconsistent. By focusing on maternal myopia as a single and practical familial indicator in school-based settings, this study also considers a null association as a meaningful context-specific finding. This observational analytic study employed a cross-sectional design and was conducted from August to October 2025 in three public elementary schools in Karanggondang, Indonesia. A total of 88 child-mother pairs were recruited using purposive sampling. Visual acuity in both children and mothers was assessed using a Snellen chart without cycloplegic refraction. Refractive status was classified dichotomously as myopia or non-myopia. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests with Yates’ continuity correction, and associations were expressed as odds ratios with 95 percent confidence intervals. The prevalence of myopia was 20.5 percent among children and 59.1 percent among mothers. Childhood myopia was slightly more frequent among children of myopic mothers at 12.5 percent compared with 8.0 percent among those of non-myopic mothers. However, no statistically significant association was found between maternal myopia and childhood myopia, with a p value of 1.000. The estimated odds ratio was 1.12 with a 95 percent confidence interval of 0.385 to 3.209. Maternal myopia was not a significant independent predictor of myopia in children aged 10 to 12 years in this population. This context-specific null finding suggests that maternal myopia alone may have limited explanatory value. Preventive strategies should prioritize modifiable lifestyle factors alongside routine vision screening, and future studies should incorporate cycloplegic refraction and broader familial and environmental measures

Abstract

This study aims to examining and analysing how profitability, liquidity, and leverage affect dividend policy is the goal of this study. It also seeks to determine whether business size influences the correlations between these variables. The study focuses on businesses that were part of the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s (IDX) LQ45 index between 2021 and 2024. Purposive sampling was used to choose the sample, and only companies that regularly paid dividends during the observation period were included. The IDX audited yearly financial statements serve as the data source. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression and moderated regression analysis. Profitability and liquidity have a positive and significant effect on dividend policy, while leverage has a negative and significant effect. Firm size strengthens the relationship between liquidity and dividend policy but does not moderate the effects of profitability and leverage. These results highlight how crucial it is for a company to sustain profitability and efficiently manage its capital structure to guarantee the long-term viability of dividend payments. The study’s findings might be considered by investors when evaluating a company’s stability and prospects in light of its size and financial performance.

Abstract

Conventional organic waste chopping machines predominantly utilize horizontal shaft configurations, which are highly susceptible to asymmetric load distribution and present ergonomic challenges during maintenance. As an innovative solution, this study presents the conceptual design of a vertical-shaft chopping machine integrated with a hydraulic-actuated top-head system to enhance the efficiency of particle size reduction. The scope of this research is strictly confined to theoretical mathematical modeling and numerical simulations. The design process complies with the ASME B106.1M standard for transmission shafts and EN 13683 for operational safety parameters, excluding experimental fabrication. A comprehensive analysis was conducted on three primary materials—Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel 304 (SS 304), and Stainless Steel 316L (SS 316L)—under fluctuating waste loads ranging from 10 kg to 35 kg. The analytical results demonstrate several crucial findings: the minimum safe shaft diameter ranges from 16 mm (utilizing SS 316L at a 10 kg load) to 28 mm (utilizing MS and SS 304 at a 35 kg load). Furthermore, the agitator's power requirement exhibits a strictly linear increase corresponding to the applied load (from 1.34 kW to 4.68 kW), whereas the hydraulic system operates efficiently with a constant power profile of 0.25 kW. Overall, the vertical shaft configuration significantly promotes symmetrical force distribution, while the hydraulic system ensures safe and immediate access to the chopping chamber. The proposed design demonstrates substantial structural, operational, and ergonomic advantages, establishing a robust theoretical foundation for future development and experimental fabrication.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a basic need for babies that plays an important role in supporting growth and development and immunity, especially for babies who are treated in the perinatology room. However, in these conditions, the smoothness of breastfeeding often faces various obstacles. One of the influential factors is maternal anxiety, which arises from the condition of the baby's illness, separation of mother and baby, postpartum pain, and the mother's concern about the mother's ability to produce breast milk. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal anxiety levels and family support with the smoothness of breastfeeding in the perinatology ward of Sari Asih Hospital, Serang. Method: Quantitative research with a cross-sectional design involving 81 respondents, mothers of infants, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square statistical test. Results: The results of univariate analysis showed that the majority of mothers in the perinatology ward of Sari Asih Hospital, Serang experienced irregular breastfeeding (53.1%), experienced moderate anxiety (49.4%), and had moderate family support (38.4%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that anxiety factors (p: 0.000) and family support (p: 0.000) had a significant relationship with the smoothness of breastfeeding. Conclusion: There is a relationship between anxiety levels and family support with the smoothness of breastfeeding.
