Abstract

One of the efforts to control weeds in preparing land for lowland rice cultivation with the No-Tillage system one of which uses isopropylamineglyphosate herbicide. The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of glyphosate herbicide that effectively controls weeds for preparation of lowland rice planting with the no tillage system, to determine changes in weed composition in lowland rice after the application of glyphosate herbicide, and to determine the effect of the no tillage system after the application of glyphosate herbicide on growth and paddy yields. Data collection was carried out from June to September 2022 in the rice fields of Trimurjo District, Central Lampung Regency and the Weed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The treatment was arranged using a randomized block design with 4 replications and 6 treatments consisting of the glyphosate herbicide doses (1,080; 1,440; 1,800; 2,160 g/ha) + no tillage, manual weeding, and intensive tillage system. Homogeneity of variance was tested by Barlett's test and then analyzed for variance. Separation of the mean was carried out using the least significant difference test (LSD) at the 5% level. The results showed that the herbicide isopropylamine glyphosate doses of 1,800 and 2,160 g/ha of the no tillage system could be used to replace the intensive tillage system because it was effective in controlling total weeds, sedges, grasses, and broad leaf groups, dominant weed Fimbristylis miliacea, Echinochloa colonum, Ludwigia octovalvis and Monochoria vaginalis up to 6 WAP, causing a change in the composition of weed species from Echinochloa colonum become monochoria vaginalis at 3 WAP, and from Echinochloa colonum become Ludwigia octovalvis at 6 WAP. The growth  is not stunted and yield of lowland rice plants is equivalent to the intensive tillage system with grain yields per hectare of 5.14 - 5.49 t/ha. Key words : weeds, isopropylamine glyphosate, paddy field, no tillage

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know effectiveness and characteristic of mixing herbicide active ingredients atrazine, mesotrion, and nikosulfuron on several weed specieses. The trial conducted in the green house at South Lampung from December 2021 until February 2022. This Research arranged in a Randomized Completely Design. Treatment consists of four types of herbicides with six level of dosage active ingredient, namely of single herbicides is atrazin 200 g/l (0, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 g ha-1), nikosulfuron 20 g/l (0, 2.5, 5.0, 10, 20, and 40 g ha-1), mesotrion 40 g/l (0, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 g ha-1), and herbicides combination of atrazine, nikosulfuron, and mesotrion 200/20/40 OD (0, 32.5, 65, 130, 260, and 520 g ha-1). The target weed were 3 type of broadleaves weeds (Ageratum conyzoides, Euphorbia hirta, and Richardia brasiliensis), 3 type of grasses weeds (Digitaria ciliaris, Eleusine indica, and Rottboellia cochinchinensis), and sedges weed (Cyperus rotundus). Multiplicative Survival Model method used in this research because atrazin, nikosulfuron, and mesotrion have different mode of action. Results showed that an active ingredient mixture of atrazin 200 g/l, nikosulfuron 20 g/l, and mesotrion 40 g/l has LD50 expectation value of 155.96 g ha-1 and LD50 treatment of 74.27 g ha-1 with the co-toxicity value was 2.10 (co-toxicity >1), it means that the characteristic oh the herbiscides mixture  is synergist or not antagonist. Abstract

Pepper plant propagation generally uses stem cuttings. Choosing the maturity level of the cutting will determine the subsequent growth of the cutting, because the body parts of the plant contain different food reserves and endogenous auxin. The growth regulator Indole Acetic Acid is used to stimulate the growth of roots and shoots of cuttings. The research aims to determine the effect of the level of maturity of the cutting material and IAA concentration on the growth of pepper seedlings and to determine the effect of the interaction between the two treatments. Research was carried out in the Greenhouse and Plant Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The experimental design used a completely randomized design (RTS), homogeneity was tested with the Bartlett test, non-additivity was tested with the Tukey test. Analysis of variance and least significant difference test (LSL) were carried out at the 5% level. The research results concluded (1). Cuttings originating from the middle part grew faster, namely in sprouting shoots, length of cutting shoots, number of leaves, and dry weight, but there was no significant difference in the dry weight of cutting roots. (2). An IAA concentration of 500 ppm gave the best response to shoot sprouting, shoot length of cuttings, number of leaves, and root dry weight. (3). Cuttings originating from the middle section that were applied with IAA 500 ppm were the best combination in terms of shoot emergence, shoot length, number of leaves, and shoot dry weight. Key words: cuttings, indole acetic acid, black pepper

Abstract

The growth of weeds in immature cocoa plants is highly susceptible to competition for water, nutrients, and light, which can disrupt the growth of cocoa plants. Efforts to manage cocoa cultivation include weed control using the chemical herbicide paraquat dichloride, a non-selective contact herbicide. This study aimed to determine the effective dosage of paraquat dichloride for controlling weeds in immature cocoa plants, changes in weed composition, and phytotoxicity on immature cocoa plants following the application of paraquat dichloride. The study was conducted in Talang Sepuh Village, Talang Padang Sub-district, Tanggamus Regency, from March–May 2024. The research employed a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with six treatments and four replications. Treatments included paraquat dichloride at doses of 414 g/ha, 552 g/ha, 690 g/ha, 828 g/ha, mechanical weeding, and a control group (no weed control). Data variance homogeneity was tested using Bartlett's test, and data additivity was evaluated with Tukey's test. If the assumptions were met, the mean difference was analyzed using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that paraquat dichloride at doses of 414–828 g/ha effectively controlled total weeds, broadleaf weeds, and dominant weeds (Eleusine indica, Praxelis clematidea, and Synedrella nodiflora). Meanwhile, doses of 552–828 g/ha were effective in controlling grass weeds and dominant weeds (Ottochloa nodosa and Asystasia gangetica). The application of paraquat dichloride did not alter weed composition and did not cause phytotoxic effects on immature cocoa plants..Keywords : Herbicide, Paraquat dichloride, Weed, Immature cocoa.

Abstract

Pekarangan merupakan suatu lahan yang berada di sekitar rumah, hampir semua rumah memiliki pekarangan.  Pekarangan setiap rumah di desa, dapat berkaitan dengan nilai ekonomis, dengan kemampuan lahan pekarangan yang dapat ditanami tanaman hortikultura seperti alpukat.  Umumnya pekarangan  rumah, masyarakat di Karang Endah tidak dirawat dengan baik, sehingga tanaman yang tumbuh tidak beraturan dan lebih sering tidak begitu memberi dampak bagi pemiliknya.  Bila pekarangan rumah dengan luas berkisar 50-100 m² bahkan ada yang lebih dari 100 m², tetapi tidak beraturan bahkan dibiarkan bongkor saja, sehingga tidak memberi nilai tambah bagi pemiliknya. Beberapa  tanaman yang dapat menjanjikan untuk menambah pendapatan petani selain lahan menjadi produktif.  Salah satu tanaman yang diprediksi dapat meningkatkan pendapatan petani adalah tanam alpukat, baik langsung di lahan pekarangan atau di dalam pot/drum. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah pekarangan sebagai salah satu upaya untuk menambah pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat di Karang Endah  secara lebih luas dengan melakukan penyuluhan tentang budidaya tanaman alpukat.  Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Dusun Karang Endah, Desa Karang Anyar, Kecamatan Jati Agung, Lampung Selatan yang berlangsung mulai bulan Mei hingga Oktober 2020.  Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode tatap muka di dalam ruangan,  demontrasi pembuatan bibit, dan praktik penanaman alpukat.  Materi kegiatan tatap muka meliputi  teknik pembibitan  alpukat, teknik budidaya alpukat hingga panen, manfaat buah alpukat untuk kesehatan. Kegiatan ini dievaluasi melalui evaluasi awal, evaluasi proses, dan evaluasi akhir.  Evaluasi awal dan evaluasi akhir dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar daftar pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan materi pelatihan.  Hasil penyuluhan tingkat pengetahun petani tani dusun Karang Endah terhadap Budidaya Tanaman Alpukat meningkat dari rata-rata skor 42 menjadi rata-rata skor 79.

Abstract

Provinsi Lampung merupakan salah satu penghasil biji kakao di Indonesia  yang dihasilkan oleh perkebunan rakyat (pekebun). Produktivitas kebun kakao di Lampung khususnya di Dusun Karang Tani semakin lama semakin menurun, hal tersebut karena petani kakao yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Tani Rukun Tani  belum mengelola lahan kakaonya dengan baik.  Kondisi lahan kakao di Dusun Karang Tani merupakan lahan berpasir dengan jenis tanah podsolik merah kuning yang rentan terhadap degradasi lahan.  Untuk mengelola lahan tersebut petani perlu dibekali pengetahuan bagaimana mengelola lahan kakao yang benar agar lahan tetap produktif.  Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan petani di Dusun Karang Tani tentang sistem budidaya kakao secara berkelanjutan.  Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Dusun Karang Tani, Desa Karang Anyar, Kecamatan Jati Agung, Lampung Selatan yang berlangsung mulai bulan Juli hingga November 2019. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode tatap muka di dalam ruangan dan demontrasi di lahan.  Materi kegiatan tatap muka meliputi  sistem budidaya kakao berkelanjutan, pengelolaan nutrisi tanaman, pola tanam sistem pertanian berkelanjutan, konservasi tanah, dan pengelolaan hama dan penyakit terpadu.  Kegiatan dievaluasi melalui evaluasi awal, evaluasi proses, dan evaluasi akhir.  Evaluasi awal dan evaluasi akhir dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar daftar pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan materi pelatihan.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Sebelum dilakukan pelatihan, tingkat pengetahun petani peserta terhadap sistem budidaya kakao secara berkelanjutan masih rendah (nilai  rata-rata 28,5), terutama pada pemahaman materi konservasi tanah di  kebun kakao (nilai 22,5) dan materi pengelolaan nutrisi tanaman dan pemupukan (nilai 27,5); (2) Pada saat kegiatan pelatihanberlangsung, tanggapan petani pesertan terhadap materi pelatihan sangat baik, peserta aktif bertanya terhadap materi yang belum jelas, dan aktivitas peserta baik yang ditunjukkan denga tingkat kehadiran yang tinggi; (3) Setelah dilakukan pelatihan, pengetahuan petani Dusun Karang Tani terhadap sistem budidaya kakao secara berkelanjutan meningkat  hingga kategori tinggi (nilai 74,9) atau dengan kenaikan 162,8%, kenaikan tingkat pengetahuan tertinggi terjadi pada materi teknik konservasi tanah di lahan kakao (211,1%) dan pengelolaan nutrisi tanaman dan pemupukan (200%).

Abstract

Sampah dianggap kotor, bau, dan mendatangkan penyakit. Sampah berada di sekitar  kita. Salah satu jenis sampah yang sering berada di rumah adalah sampah organik. Setiap hari sampah dihasilkan dan dibuang. Padahal, jika difahami, apa yang disebut sampah dan  dibuang percuma punya banyak manfaat.  Sampah diproses dengan benar, orang mungkin akan berfikir panjang untuk membuangnya. Sampah bisa diproses menjadi kompos atau eco enzm. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan petani tentang pemanfaatan sampah organik menjadi lebih berguna dalam pertanian dan kehidupan sehari-hari.   Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada gabungan kelompok tani di Sinar Harapan, Rajabasa Jaya, Bandar Lampung pada bulan Mei hingga Oktober 2022.  Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode tatap muka dan demontrasi pembuatan eco enzim dan pemanfaatannya.  Materi kegiatan tatap muka meliputi cara pembuatan eco enzim dari sampah organik, penjelasan bahan yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembuatan eco enzim, proses pembuatan dan alat yang digunakan, manfaat eco enzim. Kegiatan demontrasi meliputi praktek pembuatan eco enzim yang benar hingga berhasil menjadi pupuk cair dan cairan multi fungsi serta pengaplikasiannya.  Kegiatan dievaluasi melalui evaluasi awal, evaluasi proses, dan evaluasi akhir.  Hasil Evaluasi dilakukan dalam pemanfaatan eco enzim pada peserta yang dinilai, kategori pemilihan bahan eco enzim rendah sekor 28,5 % menjadi tinggi 70 % atau kenaikan 145,5%, cara membuat eco enzim sekor sedang 40 % menjadi tinggi 80% atau kenaikan 100 %; dan pemanfaatan eco enzim awalnya rendah  30,5 % menjadi skor tinggi 76,5 % atau kenaikan 150,8 %

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of single herbicides saflufenacil, trifludimoxazin, and their mixtures, as well as to determine the interaction characteristics of the saflufenacil and trifludimoxazin combination in weed control. The experiment was conducted in a Plastic House in Natar District, South Lampung Regency, from April to May 2025. A single-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) was applied with 54 treatment combinations, consisting of 3 herbicide types at 6 dosage levels: single saflufenacil (0, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 g/ha), single trifludimoxazin (0, 12.5, 25, 50, 100, and 200 g/ha), and their mixtures (0, 37.5, 75, 150, 300, and 600 g/ha). Treatments were applied to 3 weed species: the broadleaf Ageratum conyzoides, the grass Digitaria ciliaris, and the sedge Cyperus kyllingia. Each treatment was replicated 6 times. The interaction analysis of herbicide mixtures was carried out using the Multiplicative Survival Model (MSM), since the two herbicides have different modes of action. The results showed that: (1) single saflufenacil was only effective in controlling Ageratum conyzoides at (25-400 g/ha). Single trifludimoxazin effectively controlled Ageratum conyzoides (12.5-200 g/ha), Digitaria ciliaris (200 g/ha), and Cyperus kyllingia (50-200 g/ha). The mixture of saflufenacil+trifludimoxazin effectively controlled Ageratum conyzoides (37.5-600 g/ha), Digitaria ciliaris (75-600 g/ha), and Cyperus kyllingia (300-600 g/ha). (2) With an expected LD50 value of 83.36, which was higher than the observed LD50 value of 67.33, a co-toxicity coefficient of 1.24 (>1) was obtained, indicating that the mixture exhibited a synergistic effect.

Abstract

Downy mildew, caused by Peronosclerospora spp., is one of the major problems in maize cultivation. Several studies have reported the development of resistance in Peronosclerospora spp. to metalaxyl, which had previously been an effective control method for the disease. Other research suggests that the efficacy of phosphonic acid in controlling downy mildew in maize is inconsistent. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of seed treatment with phosphonic acid in controlling downy mildew in Bisi 18 maize. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design with six replications. The observed variables included the incidence and severity of the disease, the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), maize yield, and the content of tannin and hydroquinone compounds in maize leaves. The results showed that both phosphonic acid applied by spraying and seed treatment significantly reduced the incidence and severity of downy mildew (P < 0.05). However, the concentrations of phosphonic acid used in seed treatment had no significant effect on the disease during 1–7 weeks after inoculation. Furthermore, all phosphonic acid treatments tended to increase the content of tannin and hydroquinone compounds in maize leaves, which should be confirm quantitatively.

Abstract

Background: Teens of online game users from year to year have increased. The impact of online games on children are depression, anxiety, and social phobia will get worse and academic achievement will decrease. In addition, the addiction to online games can lead to the emergence of aggressive behavior in adolescents. Researcher is interested to examine the correlation between online game addiction with aggressiveness behavior in adolescents in Semarang game center. Methode: The design of this study is quantitative and type of  the research used Cross sectional study. The data were collected by using questionnaires. The number of respondents is 40 people used total sampling technique. The data obtained is processed statistically by using somers'd test. Result: Based on the results obtained from 40 respondents, with the characteristics of respondents 30% aged 18 years. The results showed that 52.5% showed addiction to heavy online games, 32.5% showed a moderate online game addiction and 15% showed an addiction to light online games. A total of 17.5% showed severe aggressiveness, 77.5% showed moderate aggressiveness and 5% showed mild aggressiveness. Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between online game addiction and aggressive behavior in adolescents in Semarang game center (p = 0.042), with weak correlation (r = 0.290)
