Abstract

Abstrak Permasalahan sampah plastik di lingkungan permukiman masih menjadi isu yang mendesak karena volumenya terus meningkat dan proses penguraiannya membutuhkan waktu yang sangat lama. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah menjadi faktor utama yang memperparah kondisi tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu-ibu Dasawisma Anggrek, RT 22, Kelurahan Pelita, Kecamatan Samarinda Ilir, dalam mengelola sampah rumah tangga serta memahami dasar pemasaran dan branding produk hasil daur ulang. Sehingga kegiatan ini belum sampai ke praktik daur ulang sampah plastik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode penyuluhan, pelatihan serta evaluasi menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Evaluasi dilakukan terhadap dua variabel, yaitu pengetahuan pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah serta pengetahuan tentang pemasaran dan branding produk. Hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Rata-rata peningkatan pengetahuan pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah mencapai 22%, dari 52% menjadi 74%, sedangkan peningkatan pengetahuan pemasaran dan branding produk mencapai 18%, dari 28% menjadi 46%. Peningkatan paling signifikan terjadi pada aspek pemilahan sampah dan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengurangan penggunaan plastik. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong munculnya ide-ide kreatif peserta dalam menghasilkan produk ramah lingkungan bernilai jual, seperti lampu lampion, tas dan tempat pensil. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan literasi lingkungan dan membuka peluang ekonomi sirkular berbasis rumah tangga di komunitas Dasawisma. Kata kunci: limbah plastik; pengelolaan sampah; pemasaran produk; edukasi lingkungan; dasawisma. Abstract The issue of plastic waste in residential areas remains an urgent problem due to its ever-increasing volume and the fact that it takes a very long time to decompose. The lack of public knowledge about waste management and processing is a major factor exacerbating this situation. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of the women of Dasawisma Anggrek, RT 22, Kelurahan Pelita, Kecamatan Samarinda Ilir, in managing household waste and understanding the basics of marketing and branding recycled products. Therefore, this activity has not yet reached the stage of plastic waste recycling. The activity was carried out through counseling, training, and evaluation using pre-tests and post-tests. The evaluation was conducted on two variables, namely knowledge of waste management and processing, and knowledge of product marketing and branding. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed an increase in participants' knowledge. The average increase in knowledge of waste management and processing reached 22%, from 52% to 74%, while the increase in knowledge of product marketing and branding reached 18%, from 28% to 46%. The most significant improvement occurred in the aspects of waste sorting and awareness of the importance of reducing plastic use. This activity also encouraged participants to come up with creative ideas for producing marketable environmentally friendly products, such as lanterns, bags, and pencil cases. Thus, this activity succeeded in increasing environmental literacy and opening up opportunities for household-based circular economy in the Dasawisma community. Keywords: plastic waste; waste management; product marketing; environmental education; dasawisma.

Abstract

Aim: This study is purpose to understand the chemical and physical characteristics and pollution load in each step of tempeh wastewater: washing, boiling, soaking and mixing. Tempeh is traditional food from soybean fermentation. Tempeh has a lot of healthy contents as protein and vitamin. However, wastewater from tempeh production is discharge to river directly which considered as environmentally damaging. However, the characteristics of wastewater from tempeh production and its level of environmental impacts to environment are limitedly studied. Methodology and Results: Tempeh wastewater was analyzed in chemical and physical parameters. Chemical characteristics analyzed are pH, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). pH was measured using pH meter, BOD using SNI 6989.72:2009 method and COD using SNI 6989.2:2019 method. The physical parameter analyzed is Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and analyzed using SNI 6989.3: 2019 method. Pollution load calculated by deviation maximum pollution load and pollution load existing. Result of this study findings indicated that the highest BOD 299.40 mg/L and COD 540.66 mg/L was found in soaking step compared to other steps in tempeh production. Highest TSS 655.20 mg/L was found in boiling step. The pH values in all steps were acidic 4 and 5. Allocation Pollution load of: TSS overall exceeded the capacity, BOD and COD overall exceeded the capacity except in washing step (BOD 304.39 kg/day and COD 857.78 kg/day). Conclusion, significance and impact of study: The Highest TSS of tempeh wastewater processes was in boiling step while the highest organic matter was detected in soaking. Further for whole pH were acidic and exceeded the standard. Allocation of pollution load for TSS, BOD and COD exceed the standard except for BOD and COD in washing waste. Overall tempeh wastewater needs treatment to prevent river pollution.

Abstract

Village Lempake is a densely populated area experiencing water source pollution; therefore, the provision and management of clean water require careful consideration. This study aimed to determine the types of water sources used, assess clean water management practices, and evaluate water quality in Lempake Tengah Urban Village. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, involving the distribution of questionnaires and laboratory examination of water quality using iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) parameters. The sample comprised 150 respondents to assess water management practices, and one water sample was collected from RT 8 for laboratory analysis. The results showed that 83% of the community used PDAM water as their primary source, 14% relied on drilled wells, 2% used dug wells, and 1% utilized mountain water sources. In terms of management practices, 81% of the community demonstrated good water management, while 19% were categorized as fair. Laboratory examination indicated that Fe levels met the established quality standard, with concentrations below 0.034 mg/L. However, Mn levels exceeded the allowable limit, with a measured concentration of 0.112 mg/L. Overall, PDAM water was the community's primary source, and water management practices were generally good. Water quality met the Fe standard but did not meet the required Mn standard. Future research is recommended to expand sampling coverage, and the community is encouraged to further improve clean water management practices.

Latar Belakang: Air bersih merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia yang berkaitan langsung dengan kesehatan masyarakat. Air bersih juga menjadi elemen yang mendasar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari karena digunakan dalam berbagai aktivitas domestik, seperti konsumsi, kebersihan pribadi, persiapan makanan, serta pemeliharaan lingkungan.   Tujuan: Mengetahui pengelolaan air bersih dan kualitas air bersih berdasarkan parameter nitrat, nitrit, dan pH di wilayah Lempake Hulu, Kota Samarinda. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner, observasi, dan uji laboratorium terhadap sampel air sumur bor. Populasi sebanyak 240 orang dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 150 responden, dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling.  Hasil:  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden berada dalam kategori baik. Namun, sebanyak 95,3% responden belum melakukan penyaringan air sebelum digunakan. Pada hasil uji laboratorium menunjukan bahwa kualitas air masih memenuhi baku mutu Permenkes No.2 Tahun 2023, dengan parameter yang diuji adalah nitrat, nitrit, dan pH.  Kesimpulan: Masyarakat di Lempake Hulu telah menjalankan pengelolaan air bersih dengan baik (60,7%), terutama dalam menjaga kebersihan. Pada uji kualitas air bersih dengan sumber sumur bor, di dapatkan hasil bahwa pada parameter nitrat, nitrit dan pH masih memenuhi syarat. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Limbah cair yang dihasilkan oleh rumah sakit dapat mencemari lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, harus diolah melalui Instalasi Pengelolaan Air Limbah (IPAL). Meskipun Rumah Sakit Pelita Kasih Sangatta menggunakan IPAL untuk mengolah limbah cairan, efektivitas sistem ini harus secara khusus dievaluasi untuk parameter BOD, COD, dan Amonia. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi deskriptif dengan metode observasional yang bertujuan menemukan kemampuan IPAL dalam mengurangi kadar BOD, COD dan Amonia. Pengujian dilakukan pada limbah cair bagian inlet dan outlet IPAL. Sampel akan diuji di laboratorium terpilih. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kadar BOD menurun dari 56,71 mg/L menjadi 17,34 mg/L dan COD dari 230,21 mg/L menjadi 38,43 mg/L. Masing-masing parameter memenuhi baku mutu sesuai Permen LHK No. 68 Tahun 2016. Namun, kadar amonia mengalami penurunan dari 51,41 mg/L menjadi 37,86 mg/L, masih melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan. Kesimpulan: IPAL sangat efektif ketika mengurangi BOD dan COD, tetapi proses pengolahan Amonia tidak optimal.. Kata kunci : IPAL, BOD, COD, amonia, limbah cair.

Abstract

Job burnout is a form of work fatigue resulting from work stress , which can manifest as emotional, physical , and mental exhaustion followed by decreased performance . This study aimed to measure job fatigue among PT. AX employees. Data collection was conducted through interviews using a questionnaire. This descriptive study was conducted from February to March 2024. The sample consisted of 80 dump truck operators at PT. AX who were randomly selected. The variables measured included work fatigue level , worker age, length of service , and number of working hours. The results of the study showed that most (80.0%) respondents had less than 10 years of work experience, were less than 31 years old (69.5%), and had eight-hour working hours (46.25%). Although the majority of workers (72.5%) experienced moderate fatigue, 2.5% of workers were found to be in the severe category. Symptoms of fatigue experienced by operators were eye fatigue, and signs of fatigue were seen while driving, such as pain in the lower back, frequent yawning, and frequent thirst. This study found that most dump truck operators at PT AX experienced moderate (72.5%) and severe (2.5%) fatigue.
