Abstract

This e-LKPD research used a guided inquiry learning model which aimed at analyzing the effect of e-LKPD on improving cognitive learning outcomes of high school students on the material of the circulatory system. The study used the One Group Pretest-Posttest design model with the research subjects of class XI MIPA 3. At the beginning of the implementation students were given pretest questions, then students studied e-LKPD using a guided inquiry learning model and were given posttest questions. This e-LKPD was developed using the ADDIE model. This model consists of 5 stages of development, namely the Analyze, Design, Development. Implementation and Evaluation stages. The results of the research on the development of e-LKPD showed that: The feasibility value by media experts was very valid 3.76 (94) and the feasibility value of material experts was very valid 3.42 (85.5). The feasibility value of practitioners was very good 3.79 (94.75 ). Students responses were very practical. The practicality test by students was called trial 1 3.59 (89.75) and trial 2 by students 3.64 (90.78). This showed that e-LKPD using the kvisoft flipbook maker produced in this research was considered feasible to be used in learning material of circulatory system. Cognitive learning outcomes of students using e-LKPD development results had increased from 30.4 to 90.35 with a high value increase (N-Gain: 0.85).

Abstract

The problem that is often found in the field is that poorly trained students thinking critically because learning is still teacher-centered. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using inquiry-based handouts on students critical thinking abilities. The design of this study was experimental design with pretest and posttest group control design methods. It was by looking at the students ability to answer the pretest and posttest question sheets that contain critical thinking indicators such as analyzing, synthesizing, connecting, concluding, evaluating, and creating. The results of this study show that the students critical thinking skills for the group given the handout showed that they met good criteria, that is the average score above 75. Meanwhile, students critical thinking skills in the class or group of students who were not given handouts were still not more than 50. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the handouts used can help students in training critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in increasing student interest in the learning process through integrated science learning based on Webbed Model. The basis of this research was the students low interest in the learning process as a result of the implementation in natural science learning that is not in accordance with the mandate of the 2013 curriculum. The research method was a quasi-experiment with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection techniques were questionnaires for students interest in learning based on predetermined indicators. While data analysis techniques, which were in the form of descriptive analysis and statistical analysis, were using the Independent Sample T Test. The results showed that an increase in student interest in learning through integrated science-based Webbed Models by 2.9% with a very good category. Furthermore, based on statistical tests the fcount is10.813 > ftabel 0.40 and 0.315 was obtained with a significance value of 0.04. Thus, it can be concluded that there are some differences in student interest in learning through integrated Webbed Model-based science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry (GI) learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning (TEQ) on student cognitive learning outcomes. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest posttest control group design. The population of this research was the students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3Dumai in the academic year 2018/2019. Sampling method was done using random sampling techniques to getexperiment and control class. The parameters measured were cognitive learning outcomes and the instrument used was an objective test. The data analysis technique for testing hypotheses was independent t-test. Data analysis showed sig ˂ 0.05 then H0 was rejected, this shows that student learning outcomes with the Guided Inqury model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning were significantly different from student learning outcomes with conventional models. Student learning outcomes using the Guided Inqury learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning are better than student learning outcomes using conventional learning. The average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 81.82 while the control class was61.29. The average N-gain of the experimental group was0.70 with a high category and the control group was 0.38with a moderate category.

Abstract

Design innovations on student worksheets need to be developed so that students are motivated to following the learning process. Many students difficult to understand an abstract concept of biology because they can not see directly. We can using Augmented Reality technology in the design of Student Worksheets as one of that innovation. Therefore a descriptive study was conducted to design a Student Worksheet based on Augmented Reality. The design process was carried out in two stages, namely analysis and design. The analysis phase was done by observing using questionnaires and the design stage was done by utilizing various computer software. The result of research is the design of Student Worksheets that is integrated with Augmented Reality, so the student can see the abstract object of biology by 3D AR directly with that technology. This result were expected to be developed and carried out further testing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning journals with Problem Based Learning (PBL) models on the metacognitive abilities of class X students of SMAN on environmental pollution material. This type of research was quasi-experimental research. The study population was all students of class X SMAN as a hypothetical population. The research sample consisted of 72 students consisting of 36 students in class X MIPA 2 as an experimental class and 36 students in class X MIPA 5 as a control class. Data collection used questionnaires and description problems. Validation used in the form of content validation and empirical validation. The analysis technique used the One Way Anova test analysis. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion show that the use of learning journals with problem based learning models has a very significant effect on students metacognitive abilities in biology learning at SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. The magnitude of the value of the analysis of the average score of the metacognitive abilities of the experimental class in the very good category is 125.53 while in the control class in the good category is 107.43. This shows the metacognitive ability of students who follow the use of learning journals with problem based learning models is better than students who follow conventional learning.

Abstract

Distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has encountered various challenges. Some of those include uneven internet connectivity, inadequate facilities, and an unsupportive learning environment. Those challenges gradually decreased students' learning motivation and result in learning loss. Their motivation could be influenced by several factors, including self-efficacy and self-resilience. This research aims to determine the extent to which self-efficacy and self-resilience influence learning loss compared to other factors. To achieve this goal, a quantitative approach and survey methods were applied in this cross- sectional research by using biology education students at Riau University as subjects. Its findings indicate a significant simultaneous influence of self-efficacy and self-resilience on students' learning loss. Facility disparities, unstable internet conditions, short learning time, and low interaction between instructors and students are among the factors causing learning loss in students during the distance learning. The conclusions that can be drawn from this research are learning loss is influenced by various factors, including self-efficacy and resilience. This study highlights that the low levels of self-efficacy and resilience observed in students are a result of the declining motivation for learning during remote education.
