Abstract

The hospitality industry relies heavily on customer satisfaction, which is often reflected through reviews on online travel applications. Hotel Zuri Express Lippo Cikarang requires an automated sentiment monitoring system to enhance its service quality. This study aims to implement the Naive Bayes Classifier algorithm to classify customer review sentiments into positive and negative categories. The research dataset consists of 1,637 reviews obtained via web scraping from the google maps. The research methodology includes text preprocessing, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) weighting, and N-Gram (Bigram) feature modeling. The experimental results demonstrate that the model achieves an accuracy rate of 91.16%, with a precision of 0.91 and a recall of 0.99 for the majority class. Keyword analysis using Word clouds identified cleanliness and staff service as the primary factors driving customer satisfaction. Despite challenges in detecting negative sentiments within an imbalanced dataset, the Naive Bayes algorithm proved to be reliable and efficient for automated sentiment analysis, providing a robust tool to support fast and accurate management decision-making.Keywords: Sentiment Analysis; Customer Reviews; Hotel Zuri Express; Naive Bayes; Text mining.AbstrakIndustri perhotelan sangat bergantung pada kepuasan pelanggan yang tercermin melalui ulasan aplikasi travel online. Abstract

Coconut shell is a biomass waste that is abundantly generated from household activities, traditional markets, and coconut-based food industries. However, its utilization remains limited, and open burning is still commonly practiced, causing environmental pollution and health problems. This study aimed to design and implement a manual coconut shell briquette-making device as an appropriate technology for household and small-scale business applications. The study employed a limited-scale field trial combined with a participatory community approach in Sukasari Village, Serang Baru District, Bekasi Regency. The device consisted of a manual meat grinder, steel frame, PVC pipe, wooden board, and recycled can. Operational testing showed that the device was capable of producing approximately 15–20 kg of briquettes per day. The briquettes exhibited satisfactory physical characteristics, including adequate strength, low smoke emissions, and a burning duration of 45–60 minutes. The implementation received positive responses from the local community and demonstrated potential environmental and economic benefits through biomass waste utilization and alternative energy production.

Abstract

Water pollution by heavy metals such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and chromium (Cr) is a serious environmental problem, particularly in industrial areas such as Bekasi, West Java. Heavy metals are toxic, non-biodegradable, and bioaccumulate in food chains, posing serious risks to human health and ecosystems. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of rice husk and coconut shell-based biochar as alternative filter media through a systematic literature review of scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026, indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The results indicate that coconut shell biochar produced at a pyrolysis temperature of 550°C achieves a BET surface area of 387 m²/g and removal efficiencies of 93.8% for Pb(II), 88.5% for Cd(II), and 81.2% for Cr(VI). The adsorption mechanism is multimechanistic, involving ion exchange, surface complexation, precipitation, and physical adsorption, with kinetics best described by the pseudo-second-order model (R² ≥ 0.99). Feasibility analysis demonstrates that a household-scale biochar filter unit can be produced for IDR 149,000–300,000 and can treat 50–100 liters of water per day with a service life of 3–6 months. Iron-modified biochar innovations improve heavy metal removal efficiency by 25–45% compared to conventional biochar. This technology is deemed technically, economically, and environmentally feasible as an appropriate technology solution for water treatment in low-income communities

Abstract

The rapid development of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has significantly influenced educational practices, including English language learning. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in English language learning and explore eighth-grade students’ perceptions toward the use of AI at SMPK 1 Harapan Denpasar. This study employed a descriptive qualitative research design involving 36 eighth-grade students, with seven students selected as interview participants through convenience sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed using the interactive model proposed by Miles et al., including data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that AI had been successfully integrated into English learning activities and contributed positively to classroom learning processes. The implementation of AI created a more interactive learning environment and increased students’ enthusiasm and engagement during learning activities. Furthermore, students demonstrated highly positive perceptions regarding the use of AI based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) indicators, namely perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Students perceived AI as beneficial in supporting vocabulary development, grammar improvement, pronunciation practice, and assignment completion. AI was also considered easy to use because it provided quick responses and accessible features that encouraged independent learning. Although students recognized certain limitations such as inaccurate responses and system errors, they demonstrated critical awareness by evaluating and verifying AI-generated information. Therefore, the findings suggest that Artificial Intelligence has considerable potential to support and improve the effectiveness of English language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the rate of deforestation in Papua and its ecological implications, using the documentary film "Pesta Babi" as a medium for ecological representation and critique. Massive deforestation in Papua, primarily due to food estate projects, oil palm plantation expansion, and mining, has threatened the food and energy sovereignty of indigenous communities. A qualitative approach using media text analysis and a systematic literature review was used in this study. The analysis shows that the forced conversion of indigenous forests not only eliminates traditional biomass-based food and energy sources but also marginalizes local communities, triggers biodiversity loss, and contributes to the global climate crisis. In conclusion, a review of forest management policies that position local communities as rights-holders is needed to reduce the rate of deforestation, protect the food and energy sovereignty of indigenous communities, and prevent natural colonialism.
