Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, when integrated with the STEM approach, on students’ collaborative abilities in the topic of atomic structure. The study is motivated by the persistent issue of low collaboration levels among chemistry learners, particularly when dealing with abstract subject matter. Employing a quantitative methodology with a quasi-experimental design—specifically the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design—the research was conducted with two tenth-grade classes at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, designating one as the experimental group and the other as the control group. Data were gathered through observation sheets that measured five aspects of collaboration: cooperation, responsibility, communication, adaptability, and compromise. The findings revealed a notable enhancement in collaborative skills within the experimental class following the application of the STEM-integrated PjBL model. The average final observation score for this group reached 76%, surpassing the control group’s 61%. The N-Gain score for the experimental group fell within the medium category (0.48), whereas the control group’s score was classified as low (0.17). Improvements were recorded across all collaboration indicators. Overall, the results suggest that the STEM-integrated PjBL model is effective in fostering collaboration skills and can be recommended as an alternative instructional approach for other chemistry topics to advance 21st-century skill development.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' conceptual understanding ability of hydrocarbon material using a three-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test instrument. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Wonosari using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was carried out in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects were the students of class XI B at SMA Negeri 2 Wonosari, with a sample size of 28 students. The instrument used consisted of 15 three-tier multiple-choice questions covering answers, reasoning, and the student's confidence levels. The validity and reliability of the instrument were tested through expert analysis and empirical testing using the Rasch model. Data collection was carried out using the three-tier multiple-choice test. After obtaining the students' responses, the answers were analyzed and categorized based on conceptual understanding levels: Understanding the Concept (UC), Negative Misconception (NM), Positive Misconception (PM), and Not Understanding the Concept (NUC). The results indicate that the average percentage of conceptual understanding was 29.05%, categorized as low; negative misconceptions were 23.10%, also categorized as low; postitive misconceptions were 10.24% categorized as very low; and not understanding the conceptions 37.62%, categorized as low. In conclusion, students of class XI B at SMA Negeri 2 Wonosari showed the lowest average level of conceptual understanding compared to those experiencing misconceptions or lacking scientific understanding of the concept.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantukan media Teka-Teki Silang (TTS) dan Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik (LKPD) pada materi sistem koloid di SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA yang terdiri dari 3 kelas dengan jumlah sampel 2 kelas yang masing-masing kelas berjumlah 30 siswa. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pola rancangan “randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design”. Data hasil belajar kognitif menggunakan tes pilihan ganda, data afektif dan psikomotor menggunakan lembar observasi, uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran TPS berbantukan TTS memberikan hasil belajar lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran TPS berbantukan LKPD baik kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan menggunakan uji-t perbandingan antara kedua kelas dengan taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh thitung = 6,530 > ttabel =1,672.

Abstract

Identifikasi Pemahaman Konsep Siswa SMA Negeri 4 Gorontalo Pada Materi Hidrokarbon. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Pembimbing I Drs. Mardjan Paputungan M.Si dan Pembimbing II Julhim S. Tangio, S.Pd, M.Pd. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi Hidrokarbon. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 4 Gorontalo yang berjumlah 3 kelas. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, dan XI IPA 3. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes two tier multiple choice. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemahaman konsep siswa untuk indikator mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur dalam senyawa karbon kategori cukup paham konsep sebesar 42.11%, untuk indikator mendeskripsikan kekhasan atom karbon dalam senyawa karbon kategori kurang paham 29.24%, untuk indikator membedakan atom karbon primer, sekunder, tersier dan kuartener kategori tidak paham konsep 12%, untuk indikator mengelompokkan senyawa hidrokarbon berdasarkan kejenuhan ikatan kategori tidak paham 17.54%, untuk indikator memberi nama senyawa alkana, alkena dan alkuna kategori tidak paham 17.54% dan untuk indikator menentukan titik didih dan hubungannya dengan Mr kategori kurang paham konsep 24.56%. dan untuk indikator menentukan isomer dalam senyawa hidrokarbon kategori tidak paham konsep sebesar 10.53%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the changes in conceptual thinking creativity in hydrocarbons among students who were taught by using the Hyperdocs Worksheet at SMA Negeri 7 Gorontalo on hydrocarbon material. The method used in this research was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The research samples consisted of students from class XI Merdeka 1 as the experiment group and XI Merdeka 2 as a control group at SMA Negeri 7 Gorontalo, selected using purposive sampling. The research from the creative thinking ability test were statitically processed, including prerequisite test consisting of normality and homogeneity tests. The result showed normal distribution and homogeneity. The average pre-test score for the experimental class was 31% and the post-test score was 82%, while the control class had an average pre-test score of 28% and a the post-test score 60%. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis testing using a t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05, a tcount was 9.25 with a ttable of 1.671. This indicates that tcount > ttable, leading to the conclusion that H0 is rejected and H1 is confirmed, indicating a change in conceptual thinking creativity hydrocarbons among students taught using by modeling Hyperdocs Worksheets modeling. The results of the N-Gain test showed that the average N-Gain score for the experiment class was 0.73 and that for the control class, it was 0.43, indicating a high N-Gain score in the experimental class. Therefore, using Hyperdocs Worksheets modeling effectively enhances students' creativity in thinking about hydrocarbon concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit di SMA Negeri I Biluhu. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal pilihan ganda pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit berbasis makroskopik, submikroskopik dan simbolik. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah kelas X IPA SMA Negeri I Biluhu dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 46 siswa. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pemahaman konsep secara keseluruhan yaitu 53,44% dengan kategori “Rendah”. Kemudian pada tingkat pemahaman makroskopik dengan nilai presentasi 64,13% dengan kategori “sedang”, selanjutnya pada tingkat pemahaman submikroskopik dengan nilai presentasi 38,59% dengan kategori “sangat rendah”. Sedangkan pada tingkat pemahaman simbolik nilai presentasi 57,61% dengan kategori “rendah”. Dengan demikian pemahaman konsep siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit berbasis representasi makroskopik, submikroskopik dan simbolik berada pada kategori rendah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa tingkat representasi makroskopik, mikroskopik, dan simbolik pada materi ikatan kimia di SMAT Wira Bhakti Gorontalo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang diujikan kepada 57 siswa kelas X SMAT Wira Bhakti Gorontalo. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes diagnostik tiga tingkat. Level pemahaman siswa dibagi menjadi tiga kategori yaitu paham konsep, tidak paham konsep, dan miskonsepsi, yang terdiri dari tiga tingkat representasi yaitu makroskopik, mikroskopik, dan simbolik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada tingkat representasi makroskopik siswa paham konsep sebesar 9,20%, tidak paham konsep sebesar 23,60%, dan miskonsepsi sebesar 67,20%. Pada tingkat representasi mikroskopik siswa paham konsep sebsar 15,75%, siswa tidak paham konsep sebsar 17%, dan miskonsepsi sebesar 67,25%. Pada tingkat representasi simbolik siswa paham konsep sebsar 7,17%, tidiak paham konsep sebesar 23,17%, dan miskonsepsi sebesar 69,67%. Sehingga dapat ditemukan bahwa ketiga tingkat representasi berada dikategori miskonsepsi dengan kriteria tinggi, yaitu pada makroskopik sebesar 67,20%, mikroskopik sebesar 67,25%, dan simbolik sebesar 69,67%. Sehingga rata-rata totalnya didapatkan sebesar 68,04%. Berdasarkan presentase ditemukan bahwa pengetahuan siswa kelas X SMAT Wira Bhakti Gorontalo termasuk pada kategori miskonsepsi dengan kriteria tinggi.

Abstract

Chemistry lessons are subject matter whose concepts are often found in students' daily lives, but many teachers have not been able to integrate the phenomena of chemistry and the potential of local plants into learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the potential of local plants as content and learning media based on local wisdom. The results of the study show that several types of plants found in the tourist area of Meranti Village can be used as chemistry learning content and media. These plants, namely belimbing wuluh flower, softwood flower and red spinach can be used as natural indicators instead of synthesis indicators for testing acid and alkaline solutions and Sago from sago trees is developed as a learning medium for molecular shape models

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Gorontalo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan tes pilihan ganda dua tingkat (two tier multiple choice) sebanyak 12 nomor yang telah diuji validitas. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 152 di SMA Negeri 2 Gorontalo. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa indikator berpikir kritis dengan kategori sangat tinggi adalah indikator strategi dan taktik dengan persentase 82,0%. Indikator dengan kategori cukup adalah indikator memberikan klarifikasi dasar dengan persentase 52,4% dan indikator memberikan penjelasan lanjut dengan persentase 54,6%, sedangkan Indikator dengan kategori rendah, yaitu indikator membangun keterampilan dasar memperoleh persentase 39,8% dan indikator menyimpulkan memperoleh persentase 39,1%. Penelitian rata-rata yang diperoleh cukup dengan persentase 55,7%.

Abstract

This community service project seeks to boost the added value and welfare of maize producers through the creation of corn flour products. Corn flour products have tremendous potential in enhancing the economics of the community, especially corn farmers, by delivering food products manufactured from maize that have wonderful tastes and high nutritious value. In addition, the food products created are very popular and have vast market potential. Through the training and mentoring approach of the IbM activities, the community obtained important information and knowledge, enabling them to create innovation and enterprise in the maize sector. The outcomes of this activity demonstrate that this service program not only enhances the skills and knowledge of the community, but also helps the improvement of their economic wellbeing in a sustainable manner.
