Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kayu apa saja yang digunakan dalam pembuatan kapal kayu tradisional, serta memahami alasan penggunaan kapal kayu yang belum ditinggalkan oleh masyarakat Gampong Jawa. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kayu yang digunakan yaitu kayu Alaban (Manee) dengan kelas awet I dan kelas kuat I, Balau (Seumantok) dengan kelas awet I dan kelas kuat I,II, Meuranti dengan kelas awet III,IV dan kelas kuat II,IV dan Bungur yang memiliki tingkat kekuatan yang tinggi dan tahan terhadap serangan organisme laut. Kapal kayu masih digunakan karena kayu lebih mudah digunakan dan lebih ekonomis. Alasan pekerja kapal tidak menggunakan fiber sebab biayanya yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tambak, biota dan kondisi ekonomi tambak. Metode yang yang digunakan adalah analisa deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif terhadap pengamatan langsung kondisi tambak menggunakan citra satelit dan SIG. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik sampling jenuh. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil Jenis tambak yang digunakan masyarakat kota Banda Aceh antara lain : Ekstensif, Semi intensif dan Intensif, yang paling banyak di gunakan oleh petambak adalah sistem ekstensif. Jenis biota yang dibudidayakan oleh petambak antara lain: Udang Vanamei (49%), Bandeng (26%), Udang Windu (10%), dan Biota lainnya (15%). Hal ini dikarenakan salinitas yang rendah merupakan pilihan alternatif mengingat mulai muncul penyakit infeksi pada tambak air asin. Jumlah modal yang dikeluarkan oleh petambak persiklus bervariasi, tergantung dari luas tambak, biota, dan sistem budidaya yang digunakan. Adapun jumlah modal yang dikeluarkan yang paling besar terdapat pada budidaya udang vaname sistem intensif 95%. Hal ini dikarenakan besarnya biaya sarana dan prasarana yang digunakan serta input produksi. Modal terkecil terdapat padabudidaya udang windu dengan sistem ekstensif yaitu 76%. Hal ini dikarenakan minimnya petambak yang membudidayakan udang windu yaitu 10%, dan 87,5 % pembudidaya masih menggunakan sistem ekstensif. Namun demikian jumlah modal yang dikeluarkan hampir sama halnya denga keuntungan yang didapatkan.

Abstract

Ikan cupang (Betta splendens) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan hias air tawar yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi dan potensial untuk dikembangkan. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh pembudidaya ikan cupang adalah sulitnya ditemukan induk yang matang gonad. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini dengan penambahan vitamin E dalam ransum pakan, sehingga mempercepat tingkat kematangan gonad. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi penambahan vitamin E dalam ransum pakan terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG), indeks kematangan gonad (IKG), dan fekunditas. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah kontrol, vitamin E 0.03%, 0.06% dan 0.1%. Parameter penelitian yang diamati meliputi TKG, IKG, fekunditas dan diameter telur. Hasil penelitian terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan penambahan vitamin E 0,06% dengan nilai TKG level 4, IKG sebesar 13%, fekunditas sebanyak 72 butir dan diameter telur berkisar antara 6-7 mm.Betta fish (Betta splendens) is one type of freshwater ornamental fish that had been high economic value and potential to be developed. The problem faced by betta fish farmers were the difficulty of finding mature gonads. One effort was made to overcome this problem with the addition of vitamin E in feed rations, thus speeding up the maturity level of the gonads. This study aims to determine the efficiency of vitamin E addition in feed ration to gonad maturity level (GML), gonado somatic index (GSI), and fecundity.  The design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used was control, vitamin E 0.03%, 0.06% and 0.1%. The observed parameters were GML, GSI, fecundity and egg diameter. The best result was obtained at the addition of vitamin E 0,06% with GML, GSI, fecundity and egg diameter were level 4, 13%, 72 eggs and 6-7 mm respectively.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dimulai pada bulan Agustus 2017 sampai dengan November 2017. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah dengan 4 perlakuan dan 2 ulangan. Pada perlakuan A (pakan komersial tanpa penambahan nano CaO, perlakuan B (pakan komersial dengan penambahan 1% nano CaO), perlakuan C (pakan komersial dengan penambahan 2% nano CaO), perlakuan D (pakan komersial dengan penambahan 3% nano CaO). Hasil penelian menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi molting yang dihasilkan masing-masing perlakuan yaitu A 1,33 kali/ekor, B 1,67 kali/ekor, C 197 kali/ekor dan D 2,14 kali/ekor. Pertumbuhan bobot yang dihasilkan pada masing-masing perlakuan yaitu A 1,77 g, B 2,02 g, C 2,39 g, dan D 2,58 g. Pertumbuhan panjang yang dihasilkan pada masing-masing perlakuan yaitu A 1,63 cm, B 1,76 cm, C 2,11 cm, dan D 2,29 cm.Kata kunci: penggantian cangkang; nano kalsium; pertumbuhan; udang galahAbstractThis research began in August 2017 until November 2017. Abstract

Excessive and periodic use of insecticides has a negative impact on aquatic areas and the biota in them. Pesticides that accumulate in the aquatic environment affect the life non target organisms such as fish. In addition, pesticides can cause damage to the gills, liver, intestines and spleen. This organ plays an important role in the immune system. Thus, an alternative is needed to overcome this problem, one of which is the addition of activated charcoal in the feed. The aims of study to determine the effect of the use of activated charcoal in feed on the histopathological description of the spleen of tilapia exposed to organophosphate pesticides. The study was conducted experimentally by applying 4 treatments and 2 replications as the treatments used included T1 (0% activated charcoal); T2 (1% activated charcoal); T3 (2% activated charcoal); T4 (3% activated charcoal). The test fish used were tilapia measuring 7 ± 0,4 cm long with a stocking density of 30 fish/container. Parameters observed were histopathological description of tilapia spleen at pre exposure, post exposure and after administration of activated charcoal. The results of observations of tissue damage were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and presented in the form of images. The results showed that the addition of 2% activated charcoal (T3) in the feed was able to reduce damage to the spleen due to exposure to organophosphate insecticides. Abstract

Research on calcium minerals that are effective and safe for health and the environment is being developed. These studies aim to find natural ingredients that contain high mineral levels, study effective methods, and study the characteristics of calcium obtained. Natural calcium is interesting to develop because it comes from renewable natural resources such as those fishery wastes. This article contains a study of the potential of fish bones, shellfish shells, and crustacean shells as natural sources of calcium and methods of manufacture. Oyster shells that are crushed at 900°C for 2 hours will produce Ca2+ levels of 56.77% while calcination for 4 hours produces Ca2+ = 86.22%. direct shells calcined at 900°C; 4 hours yields Ca2+= 77.15%.   The yield produced with a calcination time of ‰¥ 4 hours is relatively stable, which is 55 -57 %.Keywords: Calcium; Clam shells; crustacean shells; fish bones

Abstract

Guppy fish (Poecillia reticulata) is a type of freshwater ornamental fish that is widely known and is an export commodity. The advantages of guppy fish include having interesting color variations and various fin patterns, easy to maintain and easy to breed. Male guppies have a higher economic value than female guppies. Because male fish have a more attractive shape and color than female fish. In order to increase the economic value of guppy fish, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the color intensity of guppy fish. This study aims to determine the color intensity of guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata) enriched with marigold flower flour. The experimental design used in the study was 2 treatments and 2 replications. Treatment A = Without marigold flower flour and Treatment B = Using marigold flower flour. Parameters observed were fish color measurement, weight growth, survival. The results showed that the addition of marigold flour had a significant effect on color intensity (p 0.05).

Abstract

Paparan dan efek merusak residu pestisida yang berasal dari aktifitas pertanian pada sistem budidaya air tawar telah banyak diteliti. Salah satu jenis pestisida yaitu insektisida memiliki efek kronis berbahaya bagi ikan budidaya air tawar dan jika terakumulasi dapat merusak kesehatan manusia yang mengkonsumsi ikan tersebut. Salah satu upaya mengeliminir efek residu tersebut adalah melalui penggunaan adsorben berupa arang aktif dalam pakan ikan melalui teknik re-pelleting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait pemanfaatan arang aktif pada pakan terhadap profil histologi usus ikan nila setelah dipapar insektisida golongan organofosfat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental terdiri dari empat kali perlakuan dan dua kali ulangan. Sebagai perlakuan antara lain tanpa arang aktif atau 0% (A); arang aktif 1% (B); arang aktif 2% (C); dan arang aktif 3% (D). Ikan nila dipilih sebagai ikan uji dengan ukuran panjang 7 ± 0,4 cm serta padat tebar 30 ekor per wadah. Pakan diberikan secara ad-libitum, frekuensi pemberian pakan dua kali sehari. Pengamatan perubahan jaringan usus dilakukan melalui pemeriksaan histologi usus ikan. Pemeriksaan histologi dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali yakni sebelum paparan insektisida, setelah paparan insektisida, dan setelah pemberian arang aktif pada pakan. Preparat usus diwarnai menggunakan Hematoxylin – Eosin (HE) untuk melihat perubahan jaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan jaringan pada sampel usus akibat paparan insektisida organofosfat ditandai dengan terjadinya edema, adhesi vili, degenerasi hidropik dan vakuolisasi pada jaringan usus. Sebaliknya penggunaan arang aktif sebanyak 2% mampu menyerap diazinon yang terkontaminasi pada vili usus, ditunjukkan dengan banyaknya sel goblet yang muncul sebagai pelindung dari paparan insektisida organofosfat. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan arang aktif pada tingkat yang tepat secara efektif dapat menyerap residu insektisida dalam usus ikan nila khususnya diazinon. Pesticide residues from agriculture have been well documented to have entered freshwater fish farming systems. One of pesticides, insecticide, is harmful not only to farmed fish but also to human who consume the insecticide-exposed fish. Alternatives to eliminate the residual effect of insecticides are through the addition activated charcoal serving as adsorbent in fish feed through re-pelleting techniques. The purpose of this study was to obtain information related to the use of activated charcoal in feed on the intestinal histological profile of tilapia after exposure to organophosphate insecticides. This study used an experimental method consisting of four treatments and two replicates. The treatments consisted of feed without activated charcoal 0% (A); and with activated charcoal 1% (B); activated charcoal 2% (C); and activated charcoal 3% (D) additions. Tilapia with an average length of 7 ± 0.4 cm and a stocking density of 30 fish per container were used in the experiment. The experimental feeds were given ad-libitum twice a day. Observation of changes in intestinal tissue was carried out through histological examination. Histological examination was carried out three times, namely before exposure to insecticide, after exposure to insecticide, and after applying activated charcoal to feed. Intestinal tissue samples were stained using Hematoxylin – Eosin (HE) to observe potential tissue changes. The result showed that tissue changes in intestinal samples due to exposure of organophosphate insecticide were evident marked by the occurrences of edema, villi adhesion, hydropic degeneration and vacuolization within the intestine tissue. In contrast, the use of activated charcoal as much as 2% was able to absorb contaminated diazinon in intestinal villi, shown by the large number of goblet cells that appeared as protection from exposure to organophosphate insecticide. This study concludes that the use of active charcoal at the right level could effectively adsorb the insecticide residue particularly diazinon.

Abstract

Ikan guppy merupakan salah satu ikan hias yang populer di kalangan pencinta ikan hias karena variasi corak warnanya yang menarik. Intensitas warna pada ikan hias dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor pakan dan kondisi lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh warna cahaya lampu light emitting diode (LED) terhadap tingkat kecerahan warna ikan guppy yang diberi pakan dengan tambahan pigmen antosianin dari ubi jalar ungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan, serta menggunakan lampu LED sebagai variabel perlakuan. Perlakuan meliputi: A (kontrol/tanpa lampu), B (LED ungu), C (LED hijau), dan D (LED merah), di mana semua perlakuan dipelihara dengan pemberian pakan yang mengandung antosianin selama 60 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor peningkatan warna ikan guppy tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan D dengan skor 26,66±1,06, diikuti oleh perlakuan C dengan skor 23,77±0,97 dan perlakuan B dengan skor 23,00±0,98, sementara perlakuan A (kontrol) memiliki skor terendah, yaitu 20,11±1,21. Berdasarkan analisis nonparametrik menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis, perbedaan warna cahaya lampu memberikan pengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) terhadap skor peningkatan warna ikan guppy. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup tertinggi tercatat pada perlakuan D (96,3%) dan terendah pada perlakuan A (kontrol) dengan 77,8%. Dengan demikian, penggunaan pakan yang diperkaya antosianin yang dipadukan dengan pencahayaan LED merah terbukti mampu memberikan hasil terbaik dalam meningkatkan kecerahan warna sekaligus mempertahankan tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan guppy. Strategi ini dapat diterapkan secara praktis dalam kegiatan budidaya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas serta memperkuat nilai estetika ikan hias.Guppy fish are widely favored in the ornamental fish community due to their diverse and vibrant color patterns. Factors such as diet and environmental conditions can influence the intensity of these colors. This study aimed to assess how different LED (Light Emitting Diode) light colors affect the brightness of guppy fish that were fed anthocyanin pigment supplements from purple sweet potatoes. The experiment followed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment groups and three replicates, using LED light colors as the primary variable. The treatments included A (control/no light), B (purple LED), C (green LED), and D (red LED), with all fish receiving anthocyanin-enriched feed for 60 days. Results indicated that treatment D (red LED) led to the highest color enhancement score (26.66±1.065), followed by C (green LED) with 23.77±0.97, and B (purple LED) with 23±0.98. Treatment A (control) recorded the lowest score of 20.11±1.21. Non-parametric analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis test revealed that different LED light colors significantly (P<0.05) influenced the color enhancement scores. Additionally, the highest survival rate was observed in the red LED group (D) at 96.3%, while the control group (A) had the lowest at 77.8%. Thus, the combination of anthocyanin-enriched feed with red LED lighting proved to be the most effective in enhancing color brightness while maintaining guppy survival rates. This strategy can be practically applied in ornamental fish farming to improve productivity and enhance aesthetic value.

Abstract

Cosmetic products in Indonesia are growing rapidly in this era of technological progress, so now cosmetics are synonymous with women, and men are also interested in skincare. However, due to the lack of knowledge about the function of the substances contained in a product whether it is good or not if used in cosmetic products. Apart from that, most people do not know how to utilize village potential. Making organic masks aims to avoid the dangers of instant masks and utilizing the potential of village natural resources is the right solution. Therefore, this community service activity can be used as education on organic masks based on utilizing the potential of Ulva lactuca seaweed. Organic masks are very safe from chemicals that can damage facial skin. Organic masks contain more nutrients that are good for facial skin and can be used by all facial skin types. The results of community service showed a low increase in the participants' understanding of knowledge.
