Abstract

This research focused on the influence of the experiential Learning Model Assisted Experiment on material electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions toward the learning result of science students class X MIA at SMA Negeri 3 Palu. This research used quasi-experimental with a control group research design using pre-test and post-test. The population was all of science students class X MIA at SMA Negeri 3 Palu registered in the 2016-2017 academic year. The purposive sampling was used in choosing the sample. The sample in this research was the students of experiment class (n = 32) and control class (n = 32). The statistic data used a one-party t-test with a prerequisite test: normality and homogeneity test. Based on the result of hypothesis testing, it showed that tcounted > t1-α (tcounted = 3.35 and ttable = 1.67) with the level of significance a = 0.05 and degree of freedom 61, as the result H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, means there was a significant difference between experimental group and control group. Therefore it can be concluded that there was an influence of experiential learning model-assisted experiments on material electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions toward the learning result of chemistry students X MIA at SMA Negeri 3 Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of students’ learning outcomes on reaction rate by applying the cooperative learning model type TSTS (two stay-two stray) in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Banawa Tengah. The type of research was quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental research) with a nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design. This study was conducted on two classes, namely class XI IPA 1 as an experimental (n= 32) and class XI IPA 2 as the control class (n= 32). Analysis data used the two-party t-test statistical with the prerequisite test, namely normality and homogeneity test. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class X̅1was 76.93 with a standard deviation = 8.62 while in the control class X̅2 was 72.06 with a standard deviation= 8.53. The results of hypothesis testing obtained – ttable≤ tcount + ttable which was -1.67 <3.25> +1.67 with a significant level (α= 0.05) and degrees of freedom = 62. This showed that H0 was rejected and H1was accepted it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the two stay-two stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model on the reaction rate to the students’ learning outcomes of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Banawa Tengah.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the process of making a liquid organic fertilizer from wastewater of washing rice and coconut husks as well as to determine the amount of nitrogen contained in liquid organic fertilizer. Nitrogen contents were determined using a colorimeter. The results showed that the nutrient content of nitrogen in the liquid organic fertilizer from wastewater of washing rice and coconut husk from fermentation process in a sample of 10 days for a ratio of 1: 3, 1: 1 and 3: 1 was obtained that nitrogen contents were respectively 0.52, 0.41, and 0.20%. The results of fermentation in a sample of 14 days for a ratio of 1: 3, 1: 1 and 3: 1 obtained that nitrogen contents were 0.62, 0.49, and 0.25%.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of the problem-based learning model on the reaction rate toward critical thinking abilities of students of MAN 1 Palu. This study was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. Sampling was taken by purposive sampling technique with the sample of class XI MIA 3 as the experimental group (n = 18) and class XI MIA 4 as the control group (n = 14). The results of the study and data analysis obtained an average value of students' critical thinking skills from the questionnaire that the experimental group was 82.95%, higher than the control group (73.43%). The average value of students' critical thinking skills from the description test showed that the experimental group was 79.42%, higher than the control group (58.02%). Students' critical thinking skills data using parametric statistical analysis with t-test (right-party t-test) obtained tcount > ttable was 6.83 > 2.04 which corresponds to the H1 acceptance area, therefore H1 was accepted and H0 rejected. This means that students 'critical thinking skills in the experimental group were higher than in the control group. The results of this study concluded that the problem-based learning model had a significant influence on the thinking ability of students in grade XI on the reaction rate at MAN 1 Palu.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine students' critical thinking ability through the implementation of SAVI (somatic, auditory, visual, and intellectual) learning model on the subject of solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) at SMA Negeri 5 Model Palu. The study used one group pretest-posttest design. The instruments were lesson plans, critical thinking tests, students' worksheets, and validated observation sheets. Data of critical thinking abilities were analyzed using rubrics with three indicators, i.e. interpretation, analysis, and inference. Results of data analysis on students' critical thinking skills at the pretest on each indicators in Experiment class I were 25.84, 11.13, and 2.44%, respectively; while in class II were 23.51, 1.38, and 0%, respectively. The posttest in Experiment class I were 69.94, 61.13, and 53.51%, respectively, while in class II were 79.55, 48.61, and 49.07%, respectively. The average of students' critical thinking skills ability in experiment class I was 61.02%, and class II was 61.47%. Both of them were in the moderate category. This study concludes that students' critical thinking skills ability with the implementation of SAVI learning model is in a good category. The average of students' critical thinking skills ability in experiment class I was 61.02%, and in experiment class II is 61.47%. Both of them were in the moderate critical thinking category. This study concludes that students' critical thinking skills ability with the implementation of SAVI learning model is in a good category.

Abstract

Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana) shell is a waste produced from the processing of the plants having a fairly hard texture. This study aimed to determine the optimum weight and contact time for the candlenut activated carbon which can absorb lead metal in used oil. Analysis of lead levels was carried out using atomic absorption spectropometry (AAS). Determination of the optimum weight and contact time of activated charcoal was carried out on various weight of 3 g, 6 g, and 9 g, as well as various times of 1, 2, and 3 hours, respectively. The results show that the optimum weight and contact time of activated charcoal are 9 g for 3 h with the percentage of lead concentration absorbed of 90.716%.

Abstract

Flavonoids are pigments in the gadung mango bark that produce a yellow color. The research on copigmentation of flavonoids from gadung mango bark (Mangifera sp) as coloring agents was carried out by the maceration method using 96% ethanol. The extract obtained was concentrated using a vacuum rotary evaporator at 40 oC. The study aimed to determine levels of flavonoids and stability of color gadung mango bark on the inner and outer of the result copigmentation as a coloring agent. Measurement of total flavonoid levels at a wavelength of 520 nm and 700 nm using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results of this study indicate that the total flavonoids levels in the inner and outer gadung mango bark samples were 0.162 mg/g and 0.359 mg/g, respectively. The color stability of flavonoids of the gadung mango bark inside and outside as the results of copigmentation was stable at the temperature 35 oC and the results obtained in the color stability test of the hero cloth through washing soap water was with a 0 day in 5 hours.

Abstract

This study aims to identify learning difficulties learning experienced by students on the subject thermochemistry in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 8 Palu during the Covid-19 pandemic for the 2021 / 2022 school year. The instruments used in this study are thermochemistry tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The result showed students’ difficulties in the subject thermochemistry in class XI IPA was 60 %, the highest difficulty of students is found in the thermochemistry test of calculating the heat of the type of compound, calculating enthalpy changes, and formulating steps and hypotheses of an experiment. The difficulty is indicated by the low level of student comprehension of 54 %, medium 43 %, and high 3 % with an average of 30%. Furthermore, the difficulty of students in participating in chemistry learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is technical difficulties with a percentage of 65.92 %, difficulties in implementing learning with a percentage 0f 65.44 %, and external difficulties (environment and parents) with a percentage of 52.92 %. based on these results, the learning difficulties experienced by students during chemistry learning thermochemistry subjects during the Covid-19 pandemic include students often being constrained by signals and quotas to access materials on the internet and do not have student handbooks to study at home, difficulty understanding chemistry concepts because teacher explanations are elusive, students are not active in participating in learning because chemistry learning during the pandemic is not interesting, can’t afford chemistry books and quotas also parents don’t provide motivation and students are often lazy to do assignments because no one helps with doing. The result of this study indicates that the level of students' difficulties learning about thermochemistry is a quite high category with a low level of student ability and students agree that it is difficult to study chemistry during the pandemic Covid-19.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memilih Kabupaten yang tepat sebagai basis pengembangan usaha penggemukansapi potong di Bali, 2) menyusun alternatif strategi yang tepat untuk mendukung pertumbuhan usaha penggemukansapi potong di Bali, 3) merekomendasikan strategi prioritas yang mendukung perkembangan usaha penggemukansapi potong di Bali. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Karangasem yaitu di Kecamatan Karangasem, Bebandem,Selat, dan Rendang. Responden terdiri dari 300 orang peternak dan 10 orang ahli yang berasal dari Dinas Peternakandan Kesehatan Hewan, serta dari Universitas Udayana. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancaramenggunakan kuesioner terstruktur, wawancara mendalam, observasi, serta penelusuran literatur dan dokumenterkait. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan: analisis LQ, analisis IE, analisis SWOT, dan analisis QSPM.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat enam alternatif strategi usaha peternakan sapi potong yaitu:1) Membangun pusat pelatihan teknologi dan manajemen agribisnis penggemukan sapi potong, 2) Optimalisasiprogram penyuluhan peternakan, 3) Melakukan pelatihan teknologi pengolahan pakan, 4) Membangun koperasipeternakan, 5) Meningkatkan jiwa wirausaha peternak, serta 6) Mengadakan sosialisasi dan pendampingan dalampengurusan ijin yang diperlukan bagi kelompok ternak. Strategi prioritas yang direkomendasikan dalam penelitianini adalah strategi meningkatkan jiwa wirausaha peternak.

Abstract

This research explores the role of nonverbal communication in the context of global business in the era of globalization. The main problem is cultural differences that affect cross-cultural communication, especially in terms of intimacy and individuality. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the balance between intimacy and recognition of cultural differences, identify cross-cultural communication challenges due to globalization and technology, and assess the impact of education and political participation in Indonesia on global communication.
