Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest and literacy skills of third-grade elementary school students. One of the causes is the limited interesting and contextual learning media. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of animated video media containing Nusantara folklore in improving students' reading literacy. The development model used is the ADDIE model (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The subjects of the study were 43 third-grade students divided into control and experimental classes. The data collection methods and instruments used were questionnaires and essay-based literacy test questions. The data analysis techniques used in this development research were qualitative descriptive analysis methods and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the Independent Sample t-test assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics obtained Sig. (2-tailed) results of 0.000 and Sig. <0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Animated video media containing Nusantara folklore is valid and practical to use and effective in improving students' reading literacy skills. The implications of this research show that the integration of local cultural values through interactive visual media is able to create fun and meaningful learning for elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop learning model of design thinking learning with a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) approach to enhance autonomous learning in early writing and reading. This study conducted base on problems that exist in strategies for teaching early writing and reading in elementary schools and seek solutions that can increase the effectiveness of this process. This study adopts a design-based research approach utilizing the ADDIE instructional design model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data analysis in this study will employ both qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings of this study indicate a significant improvement in early writing and reading after using design thinking learning with a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) approach. The Design Thinking approach integrated with NLP provides a comprehensive solution to improve reading, writing and autonomous learning skills. By implementing the stages of Design Thinking equipped with NLP principles, students can be actively involved in the learning process, develop basic literacy skills, and build a more independent, confident, and disciplined learning attitude. The learning concept that integrates Design Thinking and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) offers an innovative and effective approach to improving early reading and writing skills as well as autonomous learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited availability of e-Worksheets (E-LKPD) as learning media that are suitable for students' needs, as well as the low creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students. The purpose of this study is to determine the design, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of E-LKPD with a STEM approach. This research uses the ADDIE development model with data collection methods using questionnaires and tests with questionnaire sheets and essay tests. The data analysis method in this study is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis, meanwhile the effectiveness of the E-LKPD was measured using a one-group pre-test post-test design involving 28 students. The results of the study showed that: (1) the design of E-LKPD with a STEM approach with science content and its properties to improve the creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students; (2) the validation results obtained scores of 95% from material experts and 98.75% from media experts with very valid qualifications; (3) the practicality of E-LKPD based on the results of individual trials was 99.16% and small group trials were 94.16%, both of which are categorized as very practical; and (4) the results of the effectiveness test using the dependent sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (p less than 0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores after using the E-LKPD. Therefore, E-LKPD with a STEM approach is effective in improving the creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a STEM-based mathematics learning design for elementary school students. Therefore, this research is included in research and development. The learning design development process follows the Plomp model, which consists of five stages: 1) the initial investigation phase; 2) the design phase; 3) the construction phase (realization); 4) the test, evaluation and revision phase; and 5) implementation phase. The data was collected through interviews, observation, and essay tests. Interviews are used to identify student and teacher responses to learning design. Observations are carried out during the implementation of learning to monitor the process directly. The essay test is used to measure students' mathematical literacy abilities. Data from interviews and observations were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis, while quantitative descriptive analysis was used to describe the average student success and the effectiveness of the learning design. The STEM-based mathematics learning design developed is based on the Project Based Learning learning model, adapted to STEM theories and the needs of elementary school students. This design includes six phases: orientation, strategy construction, application, communication, reflection, and assessment. The results of limited trials show that STEM-based mathematics learning designs are effectively implemented in the classroom and can improve students' abilities in solving mathematical literacy problems according to the PISA dimensions.
