Abstract

El Nino–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a symptom of deviation in the surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean on the west coast of Ecuador and Peru which is higher than the normal average which is characterized by an increase in sea surface temperature in the Central and Eastern equatorial regions. ENSO climate variability consists of three phenomena, namely normal events, El Nino and La Nina. The development of the El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event demonstrates an important role for the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). This phenomenon is suspected to have a relationship and is closely related to the decrease and increase in the intensity of rainfall in Indonesia. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the relationship between the ENSO and MJO phenomena and their impacts in Aceh Province, through empirical methods with statistical calculations, based on ENSO variables in the form of the Nino 3.4 index, amplitude variables representing the MJO and rainfall data in Aceh Province. The data for these two variables were obtained from NOAA and BoM, while the rainfall data was obtained from NASA. The data period analyzed is 10 years, from 2010 to 2019. The two data will be filtered and analyzed for correlation using a simple linear regression method. From this study it was found that basically ENSO does have a relationship with the MJO and has a relationship with increasing and decreasing rainfall intensity in Aceh Province. However, the correlation is at a weak to moderate level, and the impact is not as strong in the Central and Eastern regions of Indonesia. This strengthens the hypothesis of the weak influence of ENSO in Aceh Province; where the strengthening of the MJO is more about its synergy with the IOD or Indian Ocean Dipole, especially on the positive value (P-IOD).

Abstract

area of ​​Makassar City is one of the areas experiencing significant land use changes. In addition, the pattern of changes in coastline from year to year that occurs in the coastal area of ​​Makassar City always experiences additions and decreases in coastal areas. This is due to the phenomena of accretion and abrasion and the sedimentation rate of the Tallo River formed in this area is quite large and continues to increase. The area directly affected and studied is Tamalanrea                      Sub-District. This study aims to analyze shoreline changes and their impact on land use over a period of 20 years in Tamalanrea Sub-District, using Landsat satellite imagery data. This research is expected to provide benefits to local governments as a basis for consideration in determining regional spatial planning policies, especially in the use of coastal land. The research method includes field observations, processing of oceanographic supporting data, digitizing and overlaying image data. Changes in the coastline for a period of 20 years (1998-2018) in Tamalanrea Sub-District were 20.14 Ha where the coastline that experienced accretion and abrasion was 12.20 Ha and 7.95 Ha, respectively. Changes in land use on the coast of Tamalanrea Sub-District for 18 years (2000-2018) which increased were residential land by 2.34 Ha, industrial/warehousing land by 82.37 Ha, public facilities land by 13.36 Ha, and mangrove land of 3.27 Ha. While the reduced land use is 70.89 Ha of wet land and 20.36 Ha of dry land. Abstract

Usaha yang diperlukan untuk mendorong mahasiswa aktif dalam kegiatan perkuliahan tergantung pada dosen yang mengajar. Keaktifan mahasiswa belum berkembang selama proses perkuliahan pada mata kuliah Proses Pantai. Hal tersebut memberi dampak pada prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Hal tersebut menjadi indikator diperlukannya upaya untuk membantu mahasiswa agar dapat memahami mata kuliah Proses Pantai dengan lebih baik sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran. Penerapan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih mendorong kemandirian, keaktifan dan tanggung jawab dalam diri mahasiswa. Pada metode pembelajaran tersebut mahasiswa lebih banyak berperan selama kegiatan perkuliahan berlangsung, dosen hanya berperan mengarahkan mahasiswa dan memberi masukan pada setiap diskusi kelompok yang dilakukan. Hasil penerapan menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Proses Pantai melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD mengalami peningkatan, yang mana ditunjukkan pada persentase kriteria respon mahasiswa sebesar 91,56% atau respon mahasiswa yang sangat tinggi. Keaktifan mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Proses Pantai melalui penerapan metode kooperatif tipe STAD mengalami peningkatan, ditunjukkan dengan persentase skor keaktifan mahasiswa selama perkuliahan sebesar 97,29% atau tingkat keaktifan tinggi. Serta prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Proses Pantai melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD mengalami peningkatan, yang mana hal tersebut ditunjukkan pada hasil perbandingan nilai akhir mahasiswa angkatan 2015 (tanpa metode) dan mahasiswa angkatan 2016 (dengan metode).

Abstract

Mode of transport waterway river tallo Makasar has been operated since long transports passengers, luggage and a motor vehicle, and the only access mode for the island lakkang people through tallo to kera-kera, the eastern and the southern of Makassar city. In the operation of waterway mode, the owner ignored the shipping safety of waterway. It was proven that there is not any other safety devices above the waterway mode. Shipping safety device is an absolutely thing must be required for sea transportation, rivers and lakes. Hence it is necessary to disseminate the importance of shipping safety device for the owner of the river tallo makassar to increase the quality of service of shipping safety for passengers mode independently in accordance with national and international regulations. The safety of the device is based on land transport minister regulation no. PM 25 years 2015, transportion safety standards on the river lakes and crossing. Disseminate gives users of security and safety and public service quality shipping safety for passengers in the river tallo makassar when sailing and the process of loading and unloading of passengers and a motor vehicle.

Abstract

Public sea transportation is a vital means for people living on small islands, such as Balang Lompo. This facility functions as sea transportation tools, for both goods and passengers. Lack of operators and users understanding of these facilities, is one of the factors causing accidents at sea. The aim of this activity is to increase Balang Lompo community understanding, due to the importance of the safety at sea when they are using a ship as a public transportation facility. This activity was carried out using a questionnaire survey to 57 respondent which also residents of Balang Lompo Island; with an atractive activity also carried out at the distribution of safety equipment instructions to respondent due to their activity as users of public transportation facility. The successfulness of the program then evaluated by using a questionnaire distributed before and after the socialization of on board safety. After the socialization, there was an increase of 3.6 to 4.1 points in the average value of the public understanding of the safety aspects before the socialization; besides that the respondents generally understood well that if an accident at sea occurs, they can use not only the door but also sidescuttles that have been made wider, to exit the ship calmly and in safely manner.

Abstract

Wooden boat construction in a traditional boatbuilding group in Tanah Beru, Bulukumba district, continues to meet domestic and foreign orders. After construction, the craftsmen did not re-measure the hull so the boat’s characteristics were not well documented. This may be due to not being well understood how important these measurements are. This activity aims to introduce craftsmen to an easy way of measuring boat hull using a total station. The main dimensions of the boat that became the object of socialization were the deck length, breadth, and height of 37.75, 10.15, and 3.85 m, respectively. At the implementation stage, pre-test and post-test were conducted in the form of a questionnaire to determine the extent to which the program was successful. Among six participants of the socialization, there were two participants (33.33%) who understood the six definitions of the ship’s main dimension, namely the distance between perpendicular (LBP), length of waterline (L1), draft (T), deck length (L2 ), width of waterline (BWL) and overall width (B). While the other participants did not fully understand it. There was even one person who did not understand all of it. After socialization was carried out, 66.67% fully understood it. The measurement results show that the width and height of the built ship are 10.38 m and 4.00 m, respectively. These sizes are 0.20 and 0.15 m larger than the designed dimension.

Abstract

Technology has significantly changed the landscape of the ocean logistics industry, affecting the roles, responsibilities, and skill needs of human resources. This research aims to explore the impact of technologies such as automation, digitalization, and information systems on human resources in ocean logistics. Through a qualitative and quantitative approach that includes a literature review, online surveys, and in-depth interviews, key findings reveal a shift in worker roles towards automation system oversight, data analysis, and strategic decision-making. New skills such as programming, data analytics, and understanding automation systems are becoming crucial. However, the industry faces challenges in recruiting a workforce with the required skills and resistance from workers to change. Strategies such as extensive training programs, collaboration with educational institutions, and effective change management help integrate technology with human resources. Technology adoption also drives changes in organizational structures and work cultures that are more collaborative and data-oriented. This research provides important insights for companies and policymakers in developing strategies to prepare a competent marine logistics workforce for digital transformation.

Abstract

Breakwater adalah bangunan yang dibuat sejajar pantai dan berada pada jarak tertentu dari garis pantai. Pemecahgelombang yang saat ini banyak digunakan adalah tipe tumpukan batu. Kelemahan dari breakwater ini dimensinyayang besar sehingga harga yang dikeluarkan juga mahal. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diaplikasikan adalah hangingsheet pile breakwater. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Kelautan Universitas Hasanuddin. Metodeyang digunakan berbasis eksperimental dengan model skala yang digunakan adalah 1:25. Tujuan penelitian ini adalahmengidentifikasi pengaruh parameter gelombang (Hi/gT2) dan struktur s/d terhadap koefisien refleksi gelombang yangdihasilkan oleh respon struktur dalam saluran gelombang (wave flume) yang dilengkapi dengan alat pembangkitgelombang dan alat ukur. Gelombang yang dibangkitkan berupa irreguler wave dengan variasi spektrum gelombangJONSWAP. Variasi tinggi gelombang (H) dan periode gelombang (T) sebanyak 5 variasi, sedangkan variasi strukturberupa sarat (s) divariasikan sebanyak 3 variasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai Kr cenderungkonstan tidak berubah terhadap Hi/gT2. Sehingga semakin besar nilai s/d maka nilai Kr akan semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang akan diungkap dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanana perubahan luas lahan akibat perubahan garis pantai di wilayah pesisir Kecamatan Biringkanaya pada waktu 20 tahun terakhir (2000-2018) dan bagaimanaperubahan penggunaan lahan akibat perubahan garis pantai di wilayah pesisir Kecamatan Biringkanaya pada tahun 2000 dan 2018. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan luas lahan akibat perubahan garis pantai di wilayah Kecamatan Biringkanaya dan mengetahui perubahan penggunaan lahan akibat perubahan garis pantai di wilayah pesisir Kecamatan Biringkanaya pada tahun 2000 dan 2018. Manfaat yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah bermanfaat bagi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan mengenai penataan penggunaan lahan, dapat menjadi referensi bagi pemerintah daerah untuk membuat tata ruang perubahan lahan,dapat membantu pemerintah memecahkan permasalahan dalam proses informasi tentang luas lahan akibat perubahan garis pantai dan bermanfaat bagi peneliti itu sendiri. Metode penelitian ini dimulai dari tempat dan waktu penelitian, dimana waktu penelitian ini di laksanakan dengan estimasi waktu 3 bulan di wilayah pesisir Kelurahan Untia Kecamatan Biringkanaya. Berdasarkan fungsi lahan data BPS menunjukkan konsentrasi penduduk di Kecamatan Biringkanaya yang terbesar dari 7 Kelurahan yaitu Kelurahan Untia dengan jumlah penduduk yakni 202.520 jiwa, luas wilayah kecamatan ini 48,22 km2 sehingga kepadatan penduduk berkisar 4.199 jiwa/km2. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yaitu intepretasi citra, observasi lapangan untuk mengetahui fenomena visual yang ada meliputi perubahan garis pantai, pemanfaatan ruang wilayah pesisir, overlay, dokumentasi dan wawancara serta teknik analisis data, dan pengolahan data pendukung seperti data oseanografi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan garis pantai di kawasan pesisir pantai Kelurahan Untia selama 18 tahun yaitu 2000-2018 menggunakan citra satelit Google Earth secara signifikan yaitu abrasi terbesar 44.729,03 m2, sedangkan akresi terbesar 90.616,53m2. Dimana penggunaan lahan terluas dari tahun 2000-2018 di pesisir pantai Kelurahan Untia digunakan sebagai lahan sawah/tambak seluas 1.154,959,49 m2. Sedangkan penggunaan lahan paling rendah yaitu fasilitas umum seluas 23.264,90 m2.

Abstract

Salah satu tipe pemecah gelombang yang potensial dikembangkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan pantai dan pelabuhan adalah hanging breakwater. Pemecah gelombang ini relatif murah dibandingkan pemecah gelombang tumpukan batu. Dilihat dari sisi biaya, pemecah gelombang ini relatif murah. Namun perlu dilakukan kajian untuk mengetahui parameter yang berpengaruh terhadap besarnya gaya gelombang yang bekerja pada bangunan ini. Penelitian ini adalah penelusuran pustaka terkait untuk menyusun formula yang dapat digunakan untuk menghitung gaya gelombang secara analitis pada hanging breakwater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya gelombang yang bekerja pada hanging breakwater dipengaruhi oleh parameter gelombang dan parameter struktur. Semakin besar nilai Hi/D dan D/h, semakin besar nilai CG dan semakin besar nilai L/B untuk B konstan dan B/L untuk L konstan maka semakin kecil nilai CG.
