Abstract

Shigella dysentriae is a genus of Shigella which has a high percentage of causing dysentery by 25%. The ethyl acetate fraction of guava leaves has potential as an antibacterial because the amount of compounds that provide antibacterial activity are more attracted in this solvent. The purpose of this study was to see the potential for inhibition of the ethyl acetate fraction of guava leaves (Syzygium aqueum) at each variation of its concentration against the bacterium Shigella dysentriae. The ethyl acetate fraction was obtained by liquid-liquid fractionation. The ethyl acetate fraction was tested in the zone of inhibition against Shigella dysentriae with various concentrations of 12.5%, 25%, 50%, and 100%, Ciprofloxacin positive control and 100% DMSO negative control. The data obtained were processed using One Way Anova with a 95% confidence level. The results of phytochemical screening of the ethyl acetate fraction of guava leaves showed positive for flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. Inhibition test of ethyl acetate fraction of guava leaves against bacteria Shigella dysentriae had the smallest inhibitory power at a concentration of 12.5%, the inhibitory power was 6.3 mm; 25% concentration of 15.3 mm; 50% concentration of 16.7 mm; and the concentration of 100% the largest inhibitory power was 18.4%. The results of the antibacterial inhibition of the ethyl acetate fraction of guava leaves had a significant difference in each concentration with a significance value (p <0.05).

Abstract

Bacteria The main causes of skin infections among them caused by staphylococcus aureus bacteria, each infected network usually appears typical signs such as inflammation and abscess formation. Pare leaves (Momordica Charantia L.) can be used as antibacterial because they contain flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. This study aims to obtain a gel preparation of the pare leaf ethanol extract that has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Dietary leaf extract pare is done by Maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent. Deads are made with a concentration of 15%, 20% and 25%. The quality control test of the gel preparations include tests for homogeneity, organoleptic, dispersibility, adhesion, pH, viscosity and irritation then continued with antibacterial activity tests. The results showed that formula 3 (concentration 25%) met the requirements of the physical properties test including organoleptic test of green color, brownish concentrated, transparent, distinctive aroma, thick texture, homogeneous, has a pH of 5.8±0.0, viscosity 3100±0.0 cps, spreadability 5.3 ±0.27 cm, adhesion 1.22±0.02 seconds, and does not irritate the skin and has the greatest antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity test showed that the diameter of the inhibition zones obtained in the ethanol extract gel preparations of pare leaves at concentrations of 15%, 20% and 25% were 16.58±0.33 mm, 17.87±0.78 mm, and 22.20±0.78 mm, respectively.

Abstract

Kecamatan Ngargoyoso merupakan kecamatan dengan produksi buah jambu biji merah yang melimpah. Produksi buah jambu biji merah yang melimpah belum dibarengi dengan beragam pemanfaatan buah jambu biji merah. Selama ini para kelompok tani lebih banyak memanfaatkannya sebagai produk pangan atau dijual sebagai buah segar. Di sisi lain, buah jambu biji merah ini dapat diolah sebagai produk nonpangan seperti kosmetik, salah satunya lulur serbuk. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait pemanfaatan jambu biji merah guna menghasilkan produk olahan nonpangan yang bersifat lebih tahan lama dibandingkan produk pangan. Program pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan target sasaran adalah kelompok tani yang tergabung dalam P4S Putra Jambu di Ngargoyoso. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dalam dua sesi yaitu sesi penyuluhan tentang manfaat buah jambu biji merah dan alternatif penanganan pascapanen untuk produk olahan nonpangan serta tentang copywriting untuk branding produk. Sesi kedua yaitu workshop pembuatan dan pengemasan lulur serbuk buah jambu biji merah. Evaluasi program pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan test sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian. Nilai rata-rata pretest peserta adalah 82,8 sedangkan rata-rata nilai posttest adalah 98. Hal ini membuktikan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta.

Abstract

Psidium guajava or guava have many potential value, including as antioxidant. Psidium guajava fruits have been reported that contain essential oil, flavonoid, polyphenol, ascorbic acid, dan tocopherol. This study aims to investigate weight gain and heamatological alteration as an effect from administration of red guava fruit extract in male wistar rats after carbon tetrachloride. This study was experimental design using male wistar rats as an experimental animals. The results of the study were red guava fruit aqueous extract can control weight gain in model animal, increasing of LYM, MCMC dan WBC. It indicated that Psidium guajava fruit is potentially be able to be used as an pharmaceutical product because of its antioxidant ability.

Abstract

Buah jambu biji merah (Psidium guajava) merupakan buah dengan kandungan metabolit sekunder yang beranekaragam diantaranya adalah triterpenoid, fenol, alkaloid dan flavonoid. Air dan etanol merupakan pelarut yang dapat menarik senyawa triterpenoid, fenol, flavonoid, dan alkaloid dari buah jambu biji. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan ekstrak air dan ekstrak etanol buah jambu biji merah (Psidium guajava) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dengan berbaagai variasi konsentrasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental analitik. Metode yang digunakan adalah maserasi, skrining fitokimia dan pengujian aktivitas antimikroba dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil skrining fitokimia antara ekstrak air dengan ekstrak etanol. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antimikroba diperoleh bahwa ekstrak etanol 70% lebih efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dengan h p value 0,00 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara konsentrasi dan pelarut yang digunakan terhadap diameter zona hambat yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly/BSF) larvae are one of the animals utilised as a decomposer of organic waste and a source of protein-rich animal feed. Its metabolites, especially alkaloids, have various pharmacological and antibacterial activities. This study evaluated the potential of BSF larval water fraction extract (FABSF) as an antibacterial agent against acne-causing Staphylococcus aureus, as well as predicting skin permeability and irritation effects. Methods included secondary metabolite screening, antibacterial test (disc method), and microbial reduction measurement by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. In silico tests were used to predict skin permeability and potential irritation by analysing descriptively. Screening results showed FABSF was positive for alkaloids (Dragendorff and Wagner tests), flavonoids, and saponins, but no polyphenols or terpenoids were detected. The disc method test showed FABSF (40%, 80%, 100%) did not form a zone of inhibition. However, absorbance measurements showed a decrease in microbial counts by 85.47%, 86.89%, and 90.79% at each concentration. In silico assays identified compounds such as Butoctamide, N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)dodecanamide, and thane; (3Z,6Z)-5-imino-N,N,3-trimethyl-8-[5-[(4-methyl-1-bicyclo[4. 1. 1]octanyl)methyl]-2,3,3a,4,6,6a-hexahydropyrrolo[2,3-c]pyrrole-1-yl]nona-1,3,6,8-tetraen-4-amine suitable for topical preparations with good skin permeability and low risk of irritation.

Abstract

Tingkat konsumsi jamu beras kencur masih diminati hingga saat ini karena dipercaya mampu memberikan berbagai manfaat untuk kesehatan. Rimpang kencur mempunyai kandungan senyawa minyak atsiri, flavonoid, dan saponin dan memiliki bioaktivitas antijamur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni guna mengetahui Angka Kapang Khamir (AKK) pada jamu beras kencur. Teknik random sampling diadopsi guna memilih sampel jamu tersebut didapat dari tiga pedagang jamu di Desa Karangpakel, Kecamatan Trucuk, Kabupaten Klaten. Sampel yang telah dihomogenkan dan diencerkan ditanam dalam media PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar). Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa nilai AKK tertinggi dari jamu tersebut memiliki jumlah 140 koloni. Apabila nilai AKK tinggi, maka jamu tersebut tidak layak untuk dikonsumsi. Kata Kunci : Jamu Beras Kencur, Nilai Angka Kapang Khamir (AKK)

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur merupakan kelompok tani yang bergerak dalam komoditas pertanian jambu biji merah di Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah. Jumlah panen buah jambu biji merah yang senantiasa meningkat di setiap tahunnya, membuat anggota Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur senantiasa berinovasi untuk memaksimalkan keterserapan buah jambu biji merah. Produk makanan seperti pangsit, onde-onde, keripik dan es krim sudah dihasilkan dan dipasarkan oleh anggota Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur. Inovasi terus dilaksanakan oleh Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur bersama dengan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Nasional dan Universitas Sebelas Maret yang telah berhasil membuat simplisia dan papersoap dari buah jambu biji merah sebagai bentuk diversifikasi produk olahan buah jambu biji merah. Namun, kemampuan anggota kelompok tani dalam menghasilkan papersoap belum diimbang oleh kemampuan dalam branding produk yang dihasilkan. Oleh karenanya, perlu bagi kelompok Tani Candi Makmur untuk memahami cara pembuatan desain produk untuk membangun branding papersoap sesuai dengan kearifan lokal di Ngargoyoso. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 04 Juli 2024 dengan metode berupa penyuluhan terkait dengan branding dan public speaking dan pelatihan pembuatan desain produk dengan membagi anggota menjadi kelompok-kelompok kecil. Setiap kelompok didampingi oleh tim lalu diminta membuat desain produk berupa sticker kemasan dan slogan terkait dengan papersoap yang dihasilkan. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan mampu menghasilkan dua desain produk. Desain produk terbaik selanjutnya dipilih untuk disempurnakan dan didaftarkan sebagai sebagai Hak Kekayaan Intelektual berupa Hak Cipta dengan nomor pencatatan 000649667.

Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of learning media used in learning and the absence of game-based learning media. This study aims to produce learning media based on ludo games on the digestive system in grade V Elementary School IPAS learning. The research uses Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE model development model which has 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. The test subjects were fifth grade students of SDN Sembungharjo 02 and SDN Karangroto 01. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research instruments used were observation sheets, interview sheets, teacher and student needs questionnaires, media and material validation questionnaires, and teacher and student response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques in this study used quantitative descriptive data analysis and qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the ludo game-based learning media was very valid with a media validation score of 96.25% and material validation of 96.88%. The practicality of the media is categorized as very practical by teachers by 100% and students by 98,11%. Thus, learning media based on ludo games can be said to be valid and practical, and can be used optimally in delivering human digestion material.
