Abstract

The relationship between politics and law development in Indonesia is inseparable. Politics serves as a tool of power to regulate society in order to achieve collective goals such as justice, security, and welfare. In this context, law—particularly legislation—is a product of political processes that are often influenced by vested interests. Rather than reflecting the needs of the people, legal products frequently benefit certain elite groups. This paper aims to critically examine the relationship between politics and legal development in Indonesia. The study finds that the ruling political configuration significantly influences the direction and content of national legal policies. When politics is conducted democratically and with accountability, legal development tends to promote justice. However, when political dominance overshadows the law, it may compromise legal neutrality and fairness. Therefore, maintaining a balance between political power and legal principles is essential to ensure justice and legal certainty in the development of law.

Abstract

Abstract: Bimorejo Village has beach tourism potential, but it has not been fully optimized as a tourist destination due to several management challenges. Some of the issues faced include the non-functionality of the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis), limited facilities and infrastructure, and a lack of coordination in supporting programs. This community service program aims to support the development of tourism in Bimorejo Village using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The program is carried out through a Community Service Program (KKN) partnership model from Sunan Ampel Islamic State University (UINSA) Surabaya, involving 24 students for less than 40 days. The program's partners consist of village officials, community leaders, Pokdarwis, Pokdakkan, homestay managers, and small business owners (UMKM) along the Bimo Beach coastline, with a total of 30 people involved. The program evaluation was conducted using a participatory method, through observation, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGD). The program's success indicators were measured by the increase in partners' skills and participation in tourism management, environmental awareness, and tourism-based business development. As a result, the program successfully improved the understanding and skills of the partner groups, with understanding levels reaching 70-80%, especially regarding the importance of managing village tourism and preparing resources to drive the tourism sector.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases in the community are often linked to dietary factors. Consuming functional foods can help prevent these diseases. Functional foods can be categorized into three types: unmodified, modified, and prebiotic food. Nata is a fermented food that is rich of fiber, and able to act as a prebiotic. Starfruit (Averrhoa carambola) is a nutritious fruit with potential for various food products, but it is often underutilized. This study explores the possibility of making nata using starfruit, with variations in added liquid: coconut water, palm fruit water, a mixture of both, and mineral water. The macronutrient content (fiber, protein, and fat) of these nata variations was analyzed to assess their nutritional value. The results showed that nata made with coconut water exhibited the highest dietary fiber content (6.93%). Nata made with a combination of coconut water and palm fruit water has the highest protein content (0.48%), and nata made with palm fruit water has the lowest fat content (0.31%), respectively. This finding paves the way for further study in applicating starfruit based functional food products.

High skill of communication cannot reduce public speaking anxiety. The hypothesis that says there is a negative relationship between communication skills and public speaking anxiety, not proven. It means that the hypothesis is rejected. The research results reveal that perhaps there are other factors influence the anxiety of student’s public speaking skills.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of truck operational time restrictions on traffic safety and congestion in West Java’s industrial corridors. As freight traffic intensifies across key logistic routes such as Cikarang–Karawang, policymakers introduced peak-hour bans on heavy-duty vehicles to alleviate congestion and enhance road safety. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, the study collected data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and official reports. Results reveal a dual impact: while congestion and accident rates declined during restricted hours, the policy induced new challenges, including secondary congestion near access points, increased fatigue among night-driving truckers, and unequal compliance among logistics stakeholders. Larger logistics companies successfully adapted by integrating digital scheduling and real-time monitoring, while SMEs encountered structural barriers in policy adaptation due to limited access to technology and information. Inconsistent enforcement and lack of policy awareness also hampered regulatory effectiveness. The discussion emphasizes the need for a balanced approach one that combines regulatory intervention with affirmative support for small-scale actors, and investments in smart enforcement technologies. The findings offer valuable insights for developing inclusive, context-sensitive transport policies in industrially dynamic regions
