Abstract

This research aims to determine the efforts made by the State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah 2 Madiun Library as well as the obstacles faced in supporting the teaching and learning process of students and educators at the school. This study employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the efforts made by the State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah 2 Madiun Library, which plays a supporting role in the teaching and learning process of students and educators, include library promotion activities, implementing a book rolling program, mandatory library visits, providing teaching aids as learning support, offering e-book services, and providing special collections for teachers. The obstacles faced by the library in supporting the learning process of students and educators include limited break time and the tendency of students to prefer using gadgets over reading physical books. Despite these challenges, it is hoped that the State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah 2 Madiun Library will innovate by implementing more engaging activities, such as educational games, to attract students and encourage them to utilize the facilities available at the library.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Implementation of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program and the challenges and obstacles faced by the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive approach, where data was obtained from observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Implementation of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program at the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service has made the surrounding community not only use the Library as a place to read books, borrow and return books, but there they can participate in programs and activities carried out by the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service. The activities held can be for all groups, from children, teenagers, housewives and groups of people with disabilities. One form of implementation of the TPBIS program is holding training to make bed covers for the deaf who are members of the Indonesian Disability Association (PDDI). This activity can improve the economy and empower people with disabilities after participating in training held by the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service.

Abstract

Perbedaan gaya komunikasi antara dosen dan mahasiswa sering menimbulkan jarak yang membuat materi sulit dipahami dan menurunkan keterlibatan belajar. Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) dalam konteks pembelajaran digital di pendidikan tinggi, khususnya untuk mengatasi jarak komunikasi antara dosen dan mahasiswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) yang melibatkan mahasiswa dari tiga perguruan tinggi di Makassar. Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan tematik menggunakan kerangka CAT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mahasiswa cenderung merasa jauh dari materi ketika dosen menyampaikan pembelajaran secara monoton tanpa interaksi. Sebaliknya, mahasiswa merasa lebih terhubung ketika dosen menggunakan media audiovisual berdurasi singkat (6–10 menit), narasi berintonasi, alur bercerita, serta pembagian materi dalam segmen yang jelas. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya konvergensi dalam komunikasi dosen untuk menyesuaikan gaya penyampaian dengan preferensi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan CAT dalam pembelajaran digital mampu memperkecil jarak komunikasi, meningkatkan keterlibatan mahasiswa, dan memperkuat kualitas pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

Background: This research is motivated by the increasing use of social media, particularly Instagram, as a promotional tool by various public institutions, including libraries. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the promotional strategies implemented by the Bekasi City Archives and Library Service through Instagram, and their impact on public interest, particularly Gen-Z. Method: The research method used was qualitative, using interviews, observation, and documentation. Findings: The results indicate that promotional strategies through Instagram, particularly through the use of interactive content such as reels and stories, are able to attract the attention of the younger generation, particularly Gen-Z. User engagement also has a significant impact on the success of library promotion through social media. However, challenges remain in content consistency and user interaction management, which impact user perceptions and satisfaction. Conclusion: More strategic and creative social media management, personalized content creation, and increased posting frequency and consistency are highly recommended to increase public awareness and interest in library services. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis upaya strategi promosi yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bekasi melalui media sosial Instagram, serta dampaknya terhadap minat masyarakat, khususnya Gen-Z. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Temuan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi promosi melalui Instagram, terutama dengan penggunaan konten interaktif seperti reels dan stories, mampu menarik perhatian generasi muda, khususnya Gen Z. Keterlibatan pemustaka juga memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan pada keberhasilan promosi perpustakaan melalui sosial media. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat kendala dalam konsistensi konten dan pengelolaan interaksi dengan pengguna sehingga mempengaruhi persepsi dan kepuasan pemustaka. Kesimpulan: Pengelolaan media sosial yang lebih strategis dan kreatif, personalisasi dalam pembuatan konten, serta peningkatan intensitas dan konsistensi unggahan sangat disarankan agar layanan perpustakaan semakin dikenal dan diminati oleh masyarakat luas. Abstract

The phenomenon of disruption penetrates all lines of life. Technological advances influence almost all human activities and activities. Conventional media loyal to their old style will slowly lose their fans. The methodology used in this study is qualitative-descriptive, with a case study approach consisting of several cases in Fajar & Tribun Timur Makassar using a purposive sampling technique. This study's results indicate decreased newspaper readers, but print media advertising growth is still growing. Some factors affected were the decline in circulation turnover triggered by a decline in public interest in reading Beria through print media. The strategy is digitizing newspapers through e-papers, content innovation, networking, and organizational restructuring. The disruption of new media by the Fajar & Tribun Timur newspaper industry managers process opportunities and threats. Opportunities in question are 1) the Strength of human resources in providing accurate information to the public. 2) Establish collaboration with stakeholders. 3) The company's management's Strength in response to journalistic style changes. 4) Technology Development. While the threats faced are 1) The presence of new media. 2) The speed of new media in providing information compared to the mainstream media. 3) High costs and 4) Business competitors. The electronic world is full of creations and cyber-journalistic abilities that can be combined in synergy with print media. This step can only be done if the leadership of this new media is controlled by a team that has technological, management, and cyber journalistic skills that are highly competitive in information competition.

Abstract

Stunting in children under five is a critical health problem that affects physical and cognitive development as well as potential future productivity. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting is still high, especially in Central Java. This research explores the Central Java Health Service's strategy in overcoming stunting through a qualitative approach using library research. This research shows the results that the Central Java Health Service has formulated policies in accordance with the RPJMN and the direction of the Ministry of Health, focusing on improving health status at all stages of life. Flagship programs such as "Centing Apik" in Kebumen and "Centing Emas" in Magelang aim to improve the possibilities and quality of health and nutritional infrastructure for mothers and children. Even though the reduction in stunting rates is not yet significant, the Health Service's commitment to accelerating the reduction in stunting prevalence is carried out through program optimization, cross-sector collaboration, and public education about nutrition and healthy lifestyles. This strategy includes five stages: goals, environment, direction, action, and measurement. This research concludes that sustainable and integrated efforts are needed to significantly reduce the prevalence of stunting in Central Java.

Abstract

Library and information science periodicals in Indonesia have a variety of publishing policies and topics of discussion, as the information showed on the publication’s website. This study aims to determine: (1) the identity of the library and information science periodicals in Indonesia which can be accessed online; (2) the publishing information on those periodicals website; and (3) the popular topics of those periodicals. The research data used qualitative data, which was sourced from information searching in the SINTA Database of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, ISSN LIPI, and the website of library and information science periodicals in Indonesia The determination of the popular topics of this publication using the online application Voyant Tools. The results showed: (1) there are 61 periodicals of library and information science in Indonesia that can be accessed online, most of which are publications from universities and have not been nationally accredited (only about 27 periodicals have been accredited); (2) most publications have informed their publishing policies through websites, but the information needs to be corrected and updated regularly; (3) the most popular topic was the "library". Apart from discussing these popular topic, the periodicals also discuss other topics, such as information science, management, archiving, data, literacy, digital services, publications, librarians, collections, documentation, information and communication technology, etc.

Abstract

This study aims to describe effective communication patterns in interfaith families and their implications for education and household well-being. The background of the research is based on the phenomenon of interfaith couples who face challenges in building harmony, particularly in decision-making, child education, and the instillation of family values. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study technique on several interfaith couples in Makassar City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results show that effective communication characterized by openness, empathy, equality, and conflict management becomes an essential factor in creating harmony in interfaith families. Moreover, healthy communication plays a role in shaping inclusive family education, instilling values of tolerance, and supporting the growth of happiness within the household. The conclusion emphasizes that appropriate communication patterns can serve as a bridge to strengthen family education and maintain the emotional stability of interfaith couples.

Abstract

Addressing sexual violence against women is an urgent global concern that demands action at all societal levels. Unlike other forms of violence against women, sexual violence is particularly challenging to expose and address due to its association with societal norms of morality. The emergence of social media as a pivotal platform has enabled survivors to share their experiences, fostering potential preventive measures for others. Through digital platforms, survivors can promote awareness, solidarity, and collective strength, driving societal and structural changes. This research focuses on two primary objectives: 1) How to optimize social media to establish a protective environment for women survivors of sexual violence? 2) What role does the interplay of social media communication play in facilitating the empowerment of these women survivors? A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study methodology will be employed, utilizing snowball sampling for informants selection to address these aims effectively. The study aims to offer insights into how social media serves as a tool for survivors seeking support, validation, and advocacy. It will provide recommendations for using social media in prevention and education campaigns against sexual violence, aiming to enhance support for women survivors and advocate for more inclusive societal changes. Through this research, we seek to contribute to a deeper understanding of the intersection between social media and sexual violence survivorship, highlighting the platform's role in fostering empowerment and societal transformation.

Abstract

Background: Libraries play a vital role in disseminating knowledge and providing access to information. However, the declining interest of Generation C in traditional library visits highlights a pressing need for adaptive strategies aligned with their digital habits. While many studies focus on general digitalization efforts, limited research addresses how local public libraries respond to Generation C’s preferences in practice. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze strategic initiatives implemented by the Makassar City Library to enhance Generation C’s engagement and visitation rates. Methods: A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observations. Participants included librarians and active Generation C users, selected through purposive sampling to capture relevant and experience-based perspectives. Results: Findings revealed that Generation C values libraries with advanced digital and physical features, such as high-speed Wi-Fi, public-use computers and tablets, interactive and collaborative learning spaces, cafés, and access to digital collections. In response, the South Sulawesi Provincial Library and Archives Service has launched strategies including interactive social media outreach, the development of educational websites, and mobile digital library services through platforms such as Elfan and iSulsel. Redesigned physical spaces that encourage creativity and collaboration also proved attractive to younger users. Conclusion: These strategies demonstrate how libraries can remain relevant by embracing technology, user convenience, and participatory service design. They contribute to increasing Generation C's library visitation and engagement. Implications: Practically, the study highlights the importance of integrating digital infrastructure and spatial innovation to meet modern user expectations. Theoretically, it underscores how localized, user-centered strategies contribute to library relevance in the digital age, offering a model for other public libraries facing similar generational engagement challenges.
