Abstract

Pertanian lahan kering di Kecamatan Miomafo Timur, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, masih didominasi oleh praktik tebas bakar dan penggunaan pupuk anorganik, yang berdampak pada degradasi tanah dan penurunan produktivitas secara berkelanjutan. Disisi lain, pekarangan rumah tangga petani belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk budidaya tanaman bernilai ekonomi, sementara keterampilan petani dalam mengelola limbah pertanian masih terbatas. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan pupuk kompos biochar serta penerapannya pada budidaya tanaman pekarangan seperti jeruk. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara bertahap melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, pendampingan lapangan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi, yang melibatkan lima kelompok tani di Desa Amol. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini berhasil berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan 25 orang petani dalam mengolah limbah organik menjadi pupuk ramah lingkungan. Peserta juga mampu mengaplikasikan pupuk kompos biochar dalam budidaya tanaman bernilai ekonomi di pekarangan yakni untuk pepaya dan tanaman jeruk sebanyak 57 pohon. Petani mengharapkan pelatihan yang sama untuk seluruh anggota kelompok dan masyarakat umum di Desa Amol sehingga dapat mendorong kemandirian dan peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan pekarangan secara produktif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a vine that is generally consumed directly or in processed form. In Indonesia, there are still many who cultivate cucumbers in the conventional way and there are still many who use chemical fertilizers, but the expected results are not worth it so that many farmers who cultivate cucumbers eventually go out of business or go bankrupt. This proves that agricultural production that still uses chemicals will damage the soil texture. Efforts to reduce the excessive use of chemical fertilizers in increasing cucumber crop production include fertilizing using liquid organic fertilizers. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of liquid organic fertilizer banana weevil, tofu dregs, and banana peel on the growth and yield of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) and obtain the best type and time of application of liquid organic fertilizer for the growth and yield of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) This research will be conducted in August-September 2023, in Noebaun Village, Noemuti District, North Central Timor Regency. Field experiments using RAL factorial 3 x 3 were repeated 3 times. The first factor is the type of POC which consists of three treatments, namely POC banana weevil (P1), POC tofu pulp (P2) and POC banana peel (P3) with each POC treatment 20 ml / 10 L water. The second factor is the POC application time which consists of three treatments, namely POC application once every 1 week (O1), POC application once every 2 weeks (O2) and POC application once every 3 weeks (O3). So that there are 9 combinations of treatments, namely: P1O1, P2O1, P3O1, P1O2, P2O2, P3O2, P1O3, P2O3, P3O3 then there are 27 experimental polybags and 3 control polybags so that there are 30 experimental units. The results of the study stated that there was a real influence on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This can be seen with the highest value for the parameters of soil acidity (pH 5.84), number of internodes 42 HST (11.11 internodes), fruit weight (350.86 grams), fruit length (20.09 cm), fruit diameter (26.71 mm). POC treatment of banana peel and application time once every 1 week is the best treatment in increasing cucumber growth and yield. This can be seen with the highest value for the parameters of soil acidity (pH 5.72), stem diameter 42 HST (0.42 mm), number of internodes (10.44 internodes), fruit weight (333.83 grams), fruit length (20.26 cm), fruit diameter (25.27 mm).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan gizi dan nilai ekonomi olahan pisang dan kacang hijau lokal Malaka menjadi tepung sebagai makanan tambahan bagi balita. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dan metode survei, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Mei 2023. Analisis data menggunakan analisis laboratorium untuk mengukur kandungan gizi produk olahan pisang dan kacang hijau, dilanjutkan dengan analisis ekonomi yang meliputi: analisis kelayakan ekonomi, harga pokok penjualan, dan break event point. Hasil analisis laboratorium menemukan bahwa kandungan unsur gizi makro (karbohidrat) pada pisang dan kacang hijau lokal Malaka lebih tinggi dari standar kebutuhan minimum, dan protein pada kacang hijau lebih tinggi dari standar kebutuhan minimu; sedangkan kandungan lemak lebih rendah pada pisang dan kacang hijau lokal Malaka dibanding standar kebutuhan minimum. Kandungan unsur mikro (Kalium dan Zat Besi) lebih tinggi dari kebutuhan minimal balita, sedangkan kandungan Kalsium masih lebih rendah. Hasil penelitian juga menemukan bahwa secara ekonomi produk olahan kacang hijau dan pisang lokal Malaka layak secara ekonomi untuk diusahakan dengan nilai R/C ratio sebesar 1,3 dan harga pokok penjualan sebesar Rp 133.455 per kilogram dengan break event point pada harga Rp 92.876 per kilogram. Disarankan agar proses pengolahan dapat meminimalisir kehilangan lemak dan produk olahan pisang-kacang hijau difortifikasi dengan abon ikan atau sapi untuk meningkatkan kandungan kalsium; juga disarankan agar proses penjualan dalam kemasan yang lebih kecil agar harga terjangkau oleh masyarakat umum.

Abstract

Corn is a food that is easily accepted, people, because it is a tradisional food in NTT and also as a staple food. Thys study aimed to determine the germination and early growth of local Timor cornseeds that were smoked using vegetable materials. This research was carried out in December 2021 at the Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Timor, Kefamenanu. This research uses Completely Randomized Design (CRD) single factor : smoking from vegetable ingredients Kusambi (Ku), krinyu leaf (Kr), Gringsingan (Gr) the results of this study show the highest value namely the parameter germination capacity (96,67%), maximum growt potential (86,36%), growt speed (15,94%), vigor index (10,67%), and dry weight of sprouts were normal (8,29 gram). Initial growth parameters with the value height (39,13cm), number of leaves (4), stem diameter (0,55 mm).

Abstract

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus. L) is a type of essential oil plant whose essential oil is obtained from the leaves and stems of lemongrass. Lemongrass is classified as a medicinal plant with active compounds that can be used as medicine. The lemongrass oil distillation technique carried out by the Gema Industri farmer group uses the water distillation method. The water distillation method carried out by the Gema Industri farmer group using iron drums can affect the quality of the lemongrass oil produced. An inefficient cooling system (condenser) causes product loss because the components of lemongrass oil are volatile or easily evaporated so that it greatly affects the quality of the distillation results. The purpose of community service is to improve the design of lemongrass oil distillation equipment using a steam distiller made of stainless steel with science and technology input and improve the cooling installation to increase the yield of lemongrass oil. Community service activities are carried out in 4 stages, including socialization, training in preparing raw materials, training in distillation based on stainless steel steam distiller technology and the Bottle Packaging Design Training stage. The use of a steam distiller using a steam method made of stainless steel with a distillation process carried out for 4 hours. The time needed for the oil to come out of the distillation results is 1 hour after the distillation process is carried out. The yield of oil produced is 1.2301%.
