Abstract

Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the development and implications of the Contextualized Scholarly Impact Index (CSII), a framework designed to address the limitations of traditional metrics in assessing scholarly contributions. The review highlights the need for a more nuanced understanding of scholarly impact that incorporates contextual factors, such as collaboration, societal relevance, and interdisciplinary engagement. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, the review identifies key themes that underscore the importance of recognizing diverse forms of scholarship, including public engagement and community involvement. The findings indicate that the CSII has the potential to transform the landscape of scholarly impact assessment by promoting a holistic and equitable evaluation framework. This shift aligns with the growing consensus within the academic community for more inclusive methodologies that reflect the multifaceted nature of research contributions. However, the review also acknowledges limitations, including the subjective interpretation of literature, the rapidly evolving nature of the field, and the need for empirical validation of the CSII. Ultimately, this review lays the groundwork for future research and practice, advocating for a contextualized approach that enriches our understanding of scholarly impact in contemporary academia.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review investigates the phenomenon of recruitment deception within the framework of global labor exploitation. It explores the disconnect between existing policies designed to protect workers and the actual practices in recruitment processes across various industries and geographical regions. By analyzing a range of scholarly articles, reports, and case studies, the review identifies prevalent deceptive practices that exploit vulnerable populations, including migrant workers and those in precarious employment situations. The findings reveal significant gaps in the enforcement of protective legislation and highlight the emotional and psychological impacts of deception on affected individuals. Furthermore, the review emphasizes the necessity for collaborative efforts among stakeholders—including governments, non-governmental organizations, and community groups—to create effective interventions that address these injustices. Ultimately, the study calls for a more inclusive policy-making process that incorporates the experiences of survivors, aiming to develop comprehensive strategies to combat recruitment deception and enhance labor market equity.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review investigates the impact of constituency statutes on managerial decision-making and operational investments in corporate governance. As organizations increasingly adopt constituency statutes, a significant shift from traditional shareholder primacy to a stakeholder-oriented approach has emerged. This review synthesizes findings from various empirical studies, highlighting how constituency statutes facilitate a broader engagement with stakeholders, thus enhancing decision-making processes and promoting sustainable operational practices. The review identifies key themes, including the improved risk management capabilities, the fostering of transparency and collaboration, and the challenges of balancing diverse stakeholder interests. It underscores the importance of aligning organizational strategies with stakeholder expectations to ensure long-term value creation and corporate resilience. Despite the positive implications, the review also acknowledges limitations, including the variability of outcomes across different sectors and the potential complexities in stakeholder engagement. This study contributes to the understanding of how constituency statutes can reshape corporate governance frameworks, emphasizing the need for ongoing research to navigate the evolving landscape of managerial decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the risks and benefits of joint liability financing schemes for groups of companies through a qualitative literature review approach. This financing scheme offers solutions for companies facing capital constraints by enhancing access to credit through collective responsibility. The results of the review indicate that this scheme provides benefits such as increased financing opportunities, mitigation of default risks, and peer monitoring among group members. However, it also presents risks such as overinvestment and moral hazard, where company members may tend to make larger investments or neglect their obligations due to the protection of joint liability. Additionally, the effectiveness of the scheme heavily relies on the group structure, with smaller and more homogeneous groups having lower risks compared to larger and more heterogeneous ones. This study concludes that joint liability financing schemes can be an effective solution if these risks are well-managed through stringent oversight and fair financing policies.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review examines the pay-for-performance sensitivity in managerial compensation within controversial industries, often referred to as "sin" companies, including sectors such as tobacco, alcohol, and gambling. The review synthesizes existing studies on executive compensation structures in these sectors, highlighting the unique challenges and ethical considerations they face due to societal scrutiny and regulatory pressures. Findings suggest that sin companies tend to offer higher compensation packages with stronger pay-for-performance sensitivity to attract and retain executives in high-risk environments. However, the alignment between executive incentives and long-term sustainability is often compromised by external social and ethical factors. Despite the growing interest in this area, limited empirical research specifically focusing on sin industries has resulted in a gap in understanding how these dynamics play out across different controversial sectors. The review calls for further research to explore these relationships in greater depth and across diverse global contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to review the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in strategic decision evaluation, with a focus on consistency and bias in business decision making. Through a qualitative literature review approach, this study analyzes various studies that examine how AI technology, such as the GPT model, can improve decision quality by providing more objective and consistent data analysis. Although it has great potential in reducing human bias, this study also shows the risk of algorithmic and data bias that can affect decision outcomes. Therefore, the use of AI in decision making must be accompanied by strict human supervision to ensure the quality and fairness of the resulting decisions. The results of this study provide an important contribution to the understanding of the challenges and opportunities of AI in strategic decision making in the business world.
