Abstract

Children with special needs have several characteristics including difficulty communicating, learning difficulties, not easy to follow orders, emotional, difficult to write or read, behave according to habits, like to imitate, high sensitivity, and introvert. Children with special needs need more attention. The Lentera Fajar Indonesia Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) is an institution that accommodates children with special needs aimed at providing assistance, guidance, and independence from an early age. This activity aims to determine whether snack processing education using Skill Worksheets (LKK) and Video can be used as a means to stimulate and train the skills of students with special needs. The method used in this activity is a demonstration method using media in the form of worksheets and video snack processing. . The results obtained from the activity are: 1) snack processing education using LKK and video tutorials followed by demonstrations at each processing stage and followed directly by students causing students' interest and enthusiasm to take part in each processing stage, 2) student learning resistance increases up to 40%, namely from 90 minutes to 150 minutes without leaving the study area, 3) students need assistance from accompanying teachers in understanding the contents of skill worksheets, 4) the use of Skills Worksheets and videos to train motor skills was responded positively by accompanying teachers with suggestions for increasing the volume of the voice. adjust to the child's condition.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil SSGI (2021), prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Nganjuk yaitu 25,3%. Salah satu desa yang ditetapkan sebagai lokus stunting adalah Sudimoroharjo dengan prevalensi sebesar 13,5%. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan focus group discussion secara langsung kepada ibu bayi dan balita stunting. Sebanyak 52 kader, 3 bidan dan 15 mahasiswa dari universitas negeri surabaya (unesa) berpartisipasi dalam program dan dibagi ke dalam 8 kelompok di setiap rukun tetangga (RT) selama 3 bulan. Sebelum dilakukan pendampingan, ibu bayi dan balita kurang berusaha untuk memberikan makan kepada anak baik dari segi frekuensi maupun komposisi. Program pendampingan yang dilakukan terdiri dari: penyuluhan mengenai isi piringku dengan prinsip beragam, bergizi, seimbang dan aman di setiap posyandu setiap hari, pendampingan stunting dari rumah ke rumah, melakukan layanan konsultasi gizi setiap hari di puskesmas pembantu (pustu). Selain itu juga diberikan makanan tambahan berupa susu 1x/minggu dan biskuit bagi bayi dan balita dengan gizi buruk dan stunting sekali dalam satu bulan. Monitoring dilakukan dengan meminta ibu dan anak untuk datang setiap satu atau dua minggu sekali ke pustu setelah PMT habis untuk melakukan pengecekan status gizi anak. Selanjutnya kader, bidan dan mahasiswa mengunjungi rumah ibu dengan anak stunting dalam 1 kali sebulan untuk menanyakan apakah pmt yang diberikan dikonsumsi habis atau tidak. Setelah diberikan pendampingan secara langsung ibu dapat memahami bagaimana menerapkan B2SA baik dari segi jumlah, jenis lauk serta frekuensi makan anak. Ibu juga memberikan pmt kepada anak sampai habis, sehingga prevalensi stunting turun menjadi 9,21%.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah pembangunan kesehatan di Indonesia. Survei Status Gizi Indonesia (2021) mencatat, prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Nganjuk mencapai 25,3%. Penanganan stunting harus melibatkan komitmen bersama dan peran lintas sektor. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peran sosial lintas sektoral dalam percepatan penurunan stunting di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep collaborative governance Ansell & Gash sebagai pisau bedah analisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui teknik wawancara model focus group discussion kepada aparat desa, bidan dan penyuluh KB. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa peran sosial antar aktor dalam konteks tata kelola kolaboratif cukup efektif dalam mempercepat penurunan stunting di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Pemerintah desa berperan dalam merumuskan kebijakan penganggaran melalui alokasi dana desa untuk mendukung program tersebut. Bidan dan penyuluh KB bekerja sama merumuskan program yang efektif untuk disampaikan pada musyawarah perencanaan pembangunan desa. Pendampingan terhadap keluarga stunting dan berisiko stunting terus dilakukan melalui peran serta aktif bidan dan Tim Pendamping Keluarga. Kendala yang dialami pelaku sinergi lintas sektor dalam percepatan penurunan stunting adalah konstruksi pengetahuan dan perilaku orangtua tentang pola asuh anak yang masih lemah. Oleh karena itu, dalam memperkuat implementasi tata kelola kolaboratif dalam percepatan pengurangan stunting, diperlukan persamaan persepsi dan motivasi bersama yang kuat diantara para aktor sosial yang terlibat. Selanjutnya capacity for joint action, dimana setiap aktor terlibat dalam kegiatan kerjasama untuk meningkatkan kapasitas diri dan inklusivitas peran untuk mencapai tujuan bersama.

Abstract

The relationship between the blood glucose levels of diabetes mellitus patients and intake of carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamin DBackground: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease with a combination of symptoms that appear in a person due to an increase in blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) above average values. Good intake by following the guidelines for persons with diabetes, a nutritious diet that contains carbs, fiber, and vitamin D can help keep blood glucose levels within acceptable ranges. Objective: This study aims to the relationship between the blood glucose levels of patients at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo and their intake of carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamin D. Methods: The method in this study was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach, the population in this study were DM patients who were hospitalized at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo. The number of samples was estimated using the cross-sectional sample size calculation and the purposive sampling technique with 60 respondents. The patient's intake was measured using a 3x24 hour food recall questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The result showed that there was a relationship between carbohydrate intake and blood glucose levels (p=0.000) and fiber intake and blood glucose levels (p=0.003), but there was no significant relationship between vitamin D intake and blood glucose levels (p=1.00). Conclusion: Carbohydrate and fiber intake significantly correlated with the patient's blood glucose levels but not vitamin D intake.

Abstract

Nursing homes were built by the government of Indonesia in response to the country's growing senior population. Given their helplessness, nursing facilities can be safe places for the elderly to dwell. Aging is a natural phenomenon that affects all elderly people. It causes many changes in the elderly that may have an impact on their quality of life and nutritional status. The purpose of this study is to describe the elderly at UPTD Griya Wreda Jambangan Surabaya's nutritional state, quality of life, and the relationship between the two. This study uses a quantitative research design. Using the purposive sample approach, a total of sixty samples from the senior population were chosen. The World Health Organization Quality of Life - BREF (WHOQoL - BREF) and Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) are the measures that are utilized, and both have demonstrated validity and reliability. The study's findings indicated that 33 elderly (55%) were at risk of malnutrition, 24 elderly (40%) had good nutrition, and 3 elderly (5%) were exposed to malnutrition. In addition, the study's findings indicated that 45 elderly (75%) had good quality of life, and 15 elderly (25%) had poor quality of life. Based on the highest score, the elderly have the most satisfied perceptions in the quality of life domain based on physical health 42 elderly (70%) and psychological health 34 elderly (57%).In this study, the relationship between quality of life and nutritional status was analyzed using the Pearson test. In this study, the relationship between quality of life and nutritional status was analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results of the analysis showed a significant relationship between nutritional status and quality of life (P=0.0036). Based on these results, it can be concluded the connection between nutritional status and quality of life in the elderly at the Jambangan Nursing Home in Surabaya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the amount of daily fluid intake, isotonic drinks, hydration, physical activity, and to determine the relationship between fluid intake with isotonic drinks on the hydration level of non-elite athletes. This study applied cross-sectional design with total sampling method on 25 non-elite football athletes. The instruments used was SQFFQ Beverages for daily fluid intake and isotonic drinks, IPAQ shortform for physical activity levels, and Urine Specific Gravity (USG) for hydration levels. The results of this study found that the average fluid intake of athletes was less (3468.81±1330.34 ml), less isotonic drink intake (548±243.82 ml), hydration level is minimal dehydration (1018.20±7.05 g/dl), and high physical activity level (3009.52±1275.86 MET-minutes/week). Daily fluid intake and hydration levels had a significant relationship (r=0.657, p=0.000), and the relationship between isotonic drinks and hydration level its also significant (r=0.561, p=0.004). The amount of daily fluid intake and isotonic drinks had a significant relationship with athletes' hydration levels.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of nutritional vulnerability caused by changes in lifestyle, eating habits, and physical activity. This study aims to determine the differences in consumption patterns, nutrient intake and nutritional status of SMAIT Al Uswah Surabaya students who live in dormitories and non-dormitories. This study applied a cross sectional research design involving 80 respondents, including 40 dormitory students and 40 non-dormitory students. Samples were selected using purposive sampling technique with statistical analysis of Mann Whitney test. Consumption patterns were measured through interviews using the food frequency questionare (FFQ), nutrient intake was measured through interviews using the 3x24 hours food recall questionnaire, and nutritional status measured through direct measurement of body weight and height. The results showed 1) There were differences in consumption patterns in staple food groups, animal side dishes, and fruits; while there were no differences in consumption patterns in vegetable side dishes and vegetables between dormitory and non-dormitory students of SMAIT Al uswah Surabaya. 2) There are differences in the intake of nutrients in the energy, protein, carbohydrate, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, and zinc groups between boarding and non-dormitory students of SMAIT Al uswah Surabaya; while there are no differences in the intake of nutrients in the fat, vitamin B9, and calcium groups between boarding and non-dormitory students of SMAIT Al uswah Surabaya. 3) There are differences in the nutritional status of boarding and non-dorming students at SMAIT Al uswah Surabaya. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in consumption patterns, nutrient intake, and nutritional status of SMAIT Al Uswah Surabaya students between those who live in dormitories and non-dormitories.

Abstract

Physical fitness is the physical ability of a person to carry out daily activities without feeling excessive fatigue. In achieving good physical fitness, a proper diet is needed, especially for athletes. Proper dietary habits can be formed through the existence of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of balanced nutrition that is also appropriate in an athlete. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of balanced nutrition with the fitness level of non-elite athletes in football, basketball, and volleyball UKM UNESA. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Respondents in this study amounted to 56 athletes consisting of soccer, basketball, and volleyball athletes obtained by purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate the majority of the level of knowledge of balanced nutrition is moderate (59%), the attitude of balanced nutrition is positive (52%), the behavior of balanced nutrition is positive (52%), and physical fitness is less (64%). The results of the study using the Rank Spearman statistical test showed that there was no relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.526 > 0.05) and balanced nutrition attitudes (p value = 0.458 > 0.05) with athletes' physical fitness. While there is a relationship between balanced nutrition behavior and athletes' physical fitness (p value = 0.043 <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between knowledge and attitude of balanced nutrition with physical fitness. But there is a relationship between balanced nutrition behavior and physical fitness.   ABSTRAK Kebugaran jasmani merupakan kemampuan fisik seseorang untuk melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari tanpa merasakan kelelahan yang berlebih. Dalam mencapai kebugaran jasmani yang baik diperlukannya pola makan yang tepat terutama bagi atlet. Pembiasaan pola makan yang tepat dapat terbentuk melalui adanya pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku gizi seimbang yang tepat pula pada diri seorang atlet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku gizi seimbang dengan tingkat kebugaran atlet non-elit di UKM sepak bola, basket, dan voli UNESA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan secara cross-sectional. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 56 orang atlet yang terdiri dari atlet sepak bola, basket, dan voli yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan mayoritas tingkat pengetahuan gizi seimbang sedang (59%), sikap gizi seimbang positif (52%), perilaku gizi seimbang positif (52%), dan kebugaran jasmani kurang (64%). Hasil penelitian menggunakan uji statistik rank spearman menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan (p value = 0,526 > 0,05) dan sikap gizi seimbang (p value = 0,458 > 0,05) dengan kebugaran jasmani atlet. Sedangkan terdapat hubungan antara perilaku gizi seimbang dengan kebugaran jasmani atlet (p value = 0,043 < 0,05). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap gizi seimbang dengan kebugaran jasmani. Akan tetapi, terdapat hubungan antara perilaku gizi seimbang dengan kebugaran jasmani.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development disorder in children caused by suboptimal nutritional status or repeated infections. Based on the results of the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey, the prevalence of stunted toddlers nationally reached 21.6%. Meanwhile, the stunting rate among toddlers in East Java province reached 19.2%. Noted as an area with a fairly high prevalence of stunting under five in East Java is Sumenep Regency, namely 21.6%. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge, parenting patterns, and sanitation hygiene with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Padangdangan Village, Pasongsongan District, Sumenep Regency. This research is a correlational quantitative research using a cross sectional design. The sample in this study was 66 respondents taken using the purposive random sampling method. Data were collected using nutritional knowledge tests and food parenting questionnaires as well as sanitation hygiene questionnaires. Data analysis using the Chi Square test (α=0.05). The results show that in the level of knowledge category, mothers with good knowledge, all toddlers do not experience stunting (47%), mothers with sufficient knowledge have as many toddlers as stunting (7.5%). Moreover, among mothers with insufficient knowledge, the majority of toddlers experienced stunting (24.2%). In the category of inappropriate maternal eating patterns (28.8%) toddlers experienced stunting. Aside from that, based on sanitary hygiene conditions in the category of poor sanitary hygiene conditions (25.8%) toddlers experience stunting. There is a significant relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge (p= 0.000), parenting patterns (p= 0.000), and sanitation hygiene (p= 0.000) with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Padangdangan Village, Pasongsongan District, Sumenep Regency   ABSTRAK Stunting  merupakan gangguan tumbuh kembang pada anak yang disebabkan oleh keadaan status gizi yang tidak optimal atau infeksi secara berulang. Berdasarkan hasil Survei Status Gizi Indonesia tahun 2022 prevalensi balita stunting secara nasional mencapai angka 21,6%. Sedangkan angka stunting  pada balita di provinsi Jawa Timur mencapai angka 19,2%. Tercatat sebagai wilayah dengan prevalensi balita stunting cukup tinggi di Jawa Timur adalah Kabupaten Sumenep yaitu 21,6%. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan ibu, pola asuh makan, dan hygiene sanitasi dengan kejadian stunting pada balita di Desa Padangdangan, Kecamatan Pasongsongan, Kabupaten Sumenep. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 66 responden yang diambil dengan metode purposive random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pengetahuan gizi dan kuesioner pola asuh makan serta kuesioner hygiene sanitasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi Square (α=0,05). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dalam kategori tingkat pengetahuan, ibu dengan pengetahuan yang baik, keseluruhan balita tidak mengalami stunting (47%), ibu dengan pengetahuan cukup memiliki balita stunting sebanyak (7,5%). Sedangkan pada ibu dengan pengetahuan yang kurang sebagian besar balita mengalami stunting (24,2%). Kategori pola asuh makan ibu yang tidak tepat (28,8%) balita mengalami stunting. Selain itu berdasarkan kondisi hygiene sanitasi dengan kategori kondisi hygiene sanitasi yang tidak baik (25,8%) balita mengalami stunting. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan gizi ibu (p= 0,000), pola asuh makan (p= 0,000), dan higiene sanitasi (p= 0,000) dengan kejadian stunting pada balita di Desa Padangdangan, Kecamatan Pasongsongan, Kabupaten Sumenep

Abstract

The nutrition label is important for commercial food products to be available in the market and is compulsory to be included in the package. This paper's objective is to present the training description and its effectiveness in improving students' knowledge regarding creating nutrition labels for food products based on BPOM regulation. An experimental with Community Based Research approach was used in this study. A total of 26 female students from Senior High School (SHS) 1 Karas were involved in a one-day training. Based on the observation, most students were fairly participated during the training (33.4%). There was a significant increase in the respondents' knowledge after vs. before the training (45.77 vs. 32.69, p-value<0.05). We found a trend that students who performed low participation tended to have a lower post-test score. The student's participation during the training seems to correlate positively with the post-test score. We confirmed this relationship with Spearman rho's test, in which the correlation was 0.85 (p-value<0.05), suggesting that the correlation was strong enough. Our study demonstrated that one training session had a significant impact on the first-grade SHS students' knowledge of analyzing the nutrition value label on the food product. Engaging students to participate in the class actively can enhance the student's understanding. More intensive training with innovative methods that facilitate shy students.
