Abstract

Program kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pentingnya air bersih dan meningkatkan ketersediaan air bersih di Desa Weoe, Kecamatan Wewiku, Kabupaten Malaka. Pada daerah tersebut diperlukan adanya edukasi serta pendampingan proses penjernihan air karena karakteristik air yang ada memiliki ciri yang sama dengan air payau dan air asin. Pemilihan metode filtrasi dengan bantuan filter tabung tipe FRP dilakukan karena efektif untuk menghilangkan cemaran fisik dan bahan kimia berbahaya yang terdapat pada air. Selain itu, dilakukan pula pendampingan perangkaian peralatan filter sederhana untuk menghilangkan bau, warna, dan kotoran yang mengganggu pada air. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk survei umpan balik setelah kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan. Pada pelaksanaan kegiatan pendampingan dan pelatihan diberikan materi terkait pentingnya air bersih, metode penjernihan air, dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam memperoleh air bersih. Hasil program kegiatan ini, yaitu masyarakat setempat menunjukkan bahwa sasaran kelompok pendampingan memiliki peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai penggunaan sistem penjernihan air sederhana serta pemanfaatan teknologi berupa penggunaan filter tabung tipe FRP untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penjernihan air.

Abstract

This study aims to develop more efficient activated carbon-basedsemiconductor materials through modification with phenolic compounds to reduce the energy gap and increase adsorption capacity. Activated carbon was modified by adding phenolic compounds, then characterized using FTIR, UV-Vis, SEM, and EDS to analyze structural, morphological, and electronic changes. The UV-Vis characterization results showed that the AC 70 + F 30 sample experienced a wavelength shift towards the x-axis, which indicates a decrease in energy gap and is confirmed by Tauc plot analysis from 3.60 eV to 2.98 eV. SEM-EDS results revealed changes in pore morphology and a decrease in carbon content due to the interaction between activated carbon and phenolic compounds. These findings indicate that phenolic modification effectively reduces the energy gap and improved charge-transfer characteristics, thereby contributing to the development of more environmentally friendly and efficient activated carbon-based semiconductor materials.

Abstract

Effective and environmentally sound learning is the main goal of the school because it is able to integrate theory with real practice in the surrounding environment. One example is the utilization of organic waste, such as dry leaves and twigs, to be processed into compost for the school garden. This approach not only supports practical science lessons, but also fosters environmental awareness early on in elementary school students. So far, science learning is often only theoretical in the classroom. To make it easier for students to understand and make learning fun, tools such as a leaf shredder are needed. This machine helps solve the problem of using manual tools such as small scissors that are less efficient. The shredder can turn organic waste into small pieces that are ready to be processed into compost, supporting creative and innovative activities in learning. The solution offered is training in the design and manufacture of leaf shredding machines as well as the introduction of a machine model that is easy to use and maintain. This machine is donated to the school to support the Adiwiyata School program, which is an environmentally friendly school. The chopping machine serves as a learning tool for students and school managers, encouraging creative, productive, and environmentally friendly characters. The results obtained include a model of the chopping machine along with a guide to its use. With this machine, the learning atmosphere becomes more interactive, increases student understanding, and supports the formation of environmentally friendly characters. The level of user satisfaction with this chopping machine is very high, making it a real contribution in creating an environmentally friendly and innovative school environment.
