Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the teacher's strategy in teaching speaking. The problem in this study is that students feel unconfident in speaking English and also have a limited vocabulary. This type of research is called qualitative research. The sample for this study is the MTSN 8 Agam teacher. The instruments used in this study were observations and interviews. The results of this study, the strategies used by teachers in teaching speaking are drill, roleplay, simulation, and group discussion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi media pembelajaran untuk pendidikan seks yang ditujukan bagi siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual. Metode yang digunakan adalah model Borg & Gall,, dengan 3 (tiga) tahap pelaksanaan, yaitu: pendahuluan, pengembangan produk, dan uji coba. Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SDLB) di Kota Jambi, dengan validasi ahli dan uji coba yang melibatkan 6 (enam) orang siswa. Media dibuat menggunakan Canva, dengan fokus pada topik seperti kesadaran tubuh dan bagian tubuh pribadi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media mencapai skor validitas 78% dan skor kepraktisan 100% menurut umpan balik pendidik. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media yang menarik secara visual dan mudah diakses yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan kognitif dan emosional unik siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual efektif dan praktis untuk menyampaikan konten sensitif seperti pendidikan seks.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the factors that influence customer satisfaction such as the amount of fees and late fees for gold pawning customers at Pawnshops in the city of Palangka Raya. This research is ex post facto in which this study looks at the direct influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression. The research population was all 705 gold pawning customers with a sample of 225 customers, the sample was determined using the Slovin technique with a tolerance of 5%. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with t, F and R Square tests. The results showed that the amount of ujrah and late fines had a significant positive effect on the satisfaction of Pawn Pawn customers in Palangka Raya. This is evidenced that the calculated t value is much greater than t table (variables X 1 11.590> 1.969 and X 2 7.783> 1.969) and the calculated F value is greater than F table (98.255> 3.031). Then the contribution value of R Square is 0.438, where it can be seen that the contribution of the independent variable to the dependent variable is 43.8%.

Abstract

Penelitian eksperimental merupakan salah satu metode yang banyak digunakan dalam bidang pendidikan bahasa Inggris untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas strategi pengajaran, metode pembelajaran, dan teknologi dalam meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa siswa. Metode ini melibatkan manipulasi variabel independen serta pengamatan terhadap perubahan yang terjadi pada variabel dependen. Artikel ini membahas konsep dasar penelitian eksperimental, berbagai jenis desain eksperimen, serta penerapannya dalam konteks pendidikan bahasa Inggris. Dengan memahami metode ini, para peneliti dan praktisi pendidikan dapat mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan berbasis bukti ilmiah. Selain itu, penelitian eksperimental memungkinkan evaluasi yang objektif terhadap intervensi pendidikan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris secara keseluruhan (Brown, 2007).

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out with the aim of providing students with an understanding of coping strategies to overcome the equality problems they face. A total of 12 first year students were given training and through Focus group discussion activities, they were asked to discuss their feelings of loneliness and appropriate coping strategies to overcome them. The results of this training show changes in students' attitudes and behavior, students view the equality problems they face more positively and they are able to choose the right coping strategy.

Abstract

Hypertension is a significant global public health concern that often remains asymptomatic in its early stages, emphasizing the need for proactive prevention and management strategies. This community service program, Together Against Hypertension, was conducted in Jambi City in collaboration with the Nursing Student Association of Universitas Jambi, aiming to enhance public awareness of hypertension and identify individuals at risk through targeted blood pressure screenings. The program employed a two-pronged approach: (1) educational sessions focused on the etiology, risk factors, complications, and prevention of hypertension, with an emphasis on lifestyle modifications; and (2) blood pressure screenings to detect undiagnosed hypertension or prehypertension cases within the community. Participants included diverse demographic groups, with nursing students acting as facilitators under professional supervision. The findings revealed that 35% of participants exhibited elevated blood pressure, with 20% previously unaware of their hypertensive status. Educational activities significantly improved participants' understanding of hypertension and its management, fostering greater adherence to regular monitoring and healthy behaviors. This initiative underscores the importance of community-based interventions in addressing hypertension and provides a scalable model for similar programs aimed at improving population health outcomes.

Abstract

Foreign language anxiety (FLA) is a major barrier for students learning English as a foreign language (EFL). This anxiety often reduces their willingness to communicate and achieve academically. This article explores the role of academic buoyancy as a contributing factor to FLA. Academic buoyancy focuses on routine setbacks such as mistakes, exam stress, and difficulty participating in class. Drawing on literature in educational psychology and applied linguistics, this literature review highlights how students with FLA manage cognitive appraisals, regulate emotions, and maintain motivation, which collectively reduce anxiety and enhance language learning. A conceptual framework is proposed to illustrate the potential of academic buoyancy as a buffer against FLA in EFL classrooms. The article also discusses implications for teaching.

Abstract

Abstract Mental health literacy for nursing students is very important because they are expected to be able to cope with the physical and psychological consequences of mental illness. This study investigates the level of mental health literacy of nursing students from two different educational settings, namely educational based setting and clinical based setting. Using purposive sampling method to select participants, a cross sectional survey was collected to describe the MHL of 66 nursing students. The results of this study showed that there was no difference in the level of mental health literacy between nursing students from clinical based settings and educational based settings. Both groups had high mental health literacy. The conclusion of this study is that educational background does not affect the level of mental health literacy.

Abstract

This study seeks to increase intrinsic reading motivation by using situational interest to encourage the development of long-term individual reading motivation. Stimulating tasks are used to increase situational interest. Simultaneously, the researcher provides books on the topic of stimulating tasks to satisfy the curiosity arising from these tasks. Students who have high task stimulation show an increase in reading comprehension after controlling for initial comprehension. Students' reading motivation predicts the level of reading comprehension after controlling for initial comprehension. Task stimulation in reading increases situational interest, which increases long-term intrinsic motivation and reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the self-efficacy of students who are taking practical field experience (PPL) courses held at a private university in Jambi. The subjects were 6 students majoring in English education, who carried out teaching practice in a number of high school level schools in the Jambi Province area. Data collection was carried out by administering the Teachers’ Sense Self Efficacy scale. The results show that classroom management efficacy is higher for students who practice teaching at high school in the district compared to students who teach in the city. Student engagement efficacy shows no differance between twoteaching location,they have teacher self efficacy high.Â
