By using the media of tambourine instrumental music in reading the Shalawat, the da’wah of Habib Syech successfully attracts the interest of many participants who mostly came from groups of young people. In the middle of the hard blasphemies of the Salafi Preacher (Dai) against the majority of the religious practices of Indonesian Muslims, the Majelis Salawat led by Habib Shaykh conducted the ‘counter attack’ by means of-ways and elegant manners. This group also performs the da’wah through a cultural approach as Walisongo did by using Javanese idioms to get closer to the objects of da'wah which are mostly located in Java. Abstract

Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ), which competes for the holy book of Muslims, has received a negative response from some Indonesian Ulama. Because the Qur’an is the authoritative guideline for Muslims whose originality must be maintained. This study aims to be the antithesis of the assumption that MTQ activities are synonymous with disoriented aspects of da'wah. This research is a qualitative field research using an Islamic communication approach. As for access to data from this research, it was obtained by conducting observations, interviews and documentation studies. The research object raised was MTQ activities carried out in Jambi Province. The results of the study concluded that MTQ's preaching had implications for understanding, perception, and changes in people's behavior as an acceleration of the development of the Qur'anic community (Takwin al-Ummah). This research is expected to enrich the body of knowledge in the discipline of da'wah. This means that the da'wah dimension is not only limited to tabligh activities at religious pulpits, but is connected in all social activities of the community.

Abstract

Abstract: Indonesia is the largest democracy in the world, as well as the country with the most followers of Islam. Orientalists consider Islam in Indonesia as Islam that departs from principles that are different from Islam in the Middle East. The persuasive style of Indonesian Islam is due to the process of Islamization that has been carried out. The process of Islamization in the archipelago merged with the local culture. In contrast to the process of Islamization in the Middle East which was dominated by military action. By analyzing various sources, this study concludes that Indonesian Islam is able to contribute to the global world. Indonesian Islam provides an example of the practice of religious pluralism and democracy that go hand in hand. This is because Indonesia made the legality of several religions. In the end, it gave birth to the term Islam Wasatiyah which is the result of the integration of Indonesian Islamic culture. This Islamic movement was initiated by a large Islamic organization in Indonesia. And continue to be introduced in the global realm as a contribution to world civilization.
