Abstract

Untuk mencapai pembudayaan bahasa Inggris di tingkat sekolah dasar perlu mendapat perbaikan. Kesiapan guru dalam membentuk dan membimbing siswanya sangatlah penting. Guru harus mampu memberikan ilmu pengetahuan yang dimilikinya kepada siswa. Namun tidak semua guru memiliki kemampuan yang sama. Untuk itu perlu dibentuk persamaan metode, teknis, dan trik  pembelajaran dalam RPP. Dan perlu  pula disesuaikan dengan KKM yang telah dibuat oleh sekolah.

Abstract

Abstract  This research was aimed to develop appropriate, interesting and attractive writing media in teaching descriptive text for tenth grade students. Due to the result in the form of product, this research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) design. In conducting this research, the procedures were gathering the data and information, conducting the need analysis, designing the first draft of media, revising the media, and producing the final product as the pop up poster. The instruments of collecting data were the combination of two strategies; interview and questionnaires. The interview and questionnaire result proved that the students need writing media. The product had been validated by the experts. The overall assessments are 92.8. Abstract

Abstract          This study is to investigate the types of teacher’s feedback on writing which given by the teacher’s and to find out how the teachers gave feedback on writing procedure text on junior high school, to elaborate the reasons of the teacher conducting the feedback on students writing of junior high school. It is used descriptive qualitative method. The findings were two types of feedback found on students’ writing procedure text students of junior school. They were: Direct and Indirect. Direct feedback which is provided in the 37 of the total feedback and has percentage as many as 79%. Second, it was indirect feedback, it has many percentages 21% of 10 the total feedback. And the teacher used those types of feedback on students’ writing was because it could make the students’ have more vocabularies and the students did not think more about what was the correct words. Abstract

Writing procedure text is considered as one of genre in writing. It is enjoyable to write procedure text writing.Small group work strategy is considered as a solution for students' problem in generating and organizing ideas. Therefore, the writer is convinced that by using Small group work strategy teaching learning process will be more successful, especially in teaching and learning procedure text.In this study, the product in writing content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics.The data was calculated by using the score of writing test. The analysis was intended to get the significant differences between taught by using small group work strategy and taught by individual work in writing procedure text.The result of this study shows that there is difference of out between both of groups. Based on statistics calculation, the mean of control group and experimental group is different. The mean score of the experimental group is higher than control group. The calculation of the t-test shows that t-observed (3,37) is higher than t-table value (2,000) for the degree of freedom  58 at the lord significance (a) 0,05. The result in writing taught by using small group work strategy was higher than taught by using individual work strategy in writing procedure text. Keywords: Writing, Procedure text, Small group work strategy, Individual work.

Abstract

AbstractLanguage becomes a necessary thing because it helps the world having the interaction. In addition, a language is a structured system of communication used by humans. Languages consist of spoken sounds in spoken languages or written elements in written languages. There are some functions of language such as communication, the expression of identity, play, imaginative expression, and emotional release. Additionally, a language may consist of other symbolic elements like hand gestures in sign languages. Language becomes a necessary thing because it helps the world having the interaction. There are some functions of language such as communication, the expression of identity, play, imaginative expression, and emotional release. Human needs social life and social life need human. The functions of language give big impact to many aspects especially in social life. Abstract

Abstract  This study aims to determine if visualizing when teaching reading learners is beneficial in reading comprehension for students. One of the ways for teaching reading is visualization. It is the ability of a student to visualize what he or she is reading. Students learn to develop mental pictures to aid comprehension and recall in this method. And students can increase their comprehension of written content by creating mental representations. It increases students' focus, attention to detail, and independent reading skills by assisting them in transforming words into higher-level concepts. And teacher can make students work in pairs and allow them to work through the texts together from different subject areas. It can be inferred that teaching reading to young learners through visualization strategy is effective in reading comprehension for students.                            Keywords: teaching, reading, students, visualization, comprehension.

Abstract

Mempelajari sebuah bahasa asing seperti bahasa Inggris tidaklah sulit dan tidak juga gampang bagi orang-orang yang sudah bekerja dan tentu saja tidak melatarbelakangi bahasa Inggris. Hal ini suatu masalah besar bagi mereka di mana para pekerja tersebut sangat dituntut untuk menguasai dan mampu mengkomunikasikan bahasa Inggris tersebut untuk meningkatkan prestasi dan kredibilitas pekerjaan mereka di Perusahaan Eksport-Import yang ada di Kabupaten Batu Bara. Untuk itu dilakukan berbagai upaya untuk merangsang daya tarik para pekerja (siswa) dalam menciptakan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan seperti watching, game playing, discussion and singing. Dengan bertujuan supaya para pekerja (siswa) dapat memberanikan diri mengeluarkan ide serta menjadikan bahasa Inggris sebagai budaya komunikasi di lingkungan perusahaan. Sebab daerah yang menjadi central topik tulisan ini merupakan daerah yang sangat maju perkembangan pembangunannya disebabkan karena akan adanya rencana Pemerintah setempat menjadikan sebuah Pelabuhan Internasional nantinya dan tentu saja sangat dibutuhkan sekali pengetahuan akan bahasa Inggris tersebut.   Kata Kunci :         Bahasa Inggris, Mengemukakan Pendapat, Sarana Komunikasi, Media Pembelajaran, Perkembangan Perusahaan Eksport-Import

Abstract

This study deals with the Persuasive strategies of Samosir promotion in visit samosir facebook page. The objective of the study are to find out the types of persuasive technique of samosir promotion in visit samosir facebook page, and to describe the strategies of persuasive of samosir promotion in visit samosir facebook page. This study was conducted by using Descriptive qualitative method. The data was collected from http://visitsamosir.com. There were 60 status from May of 2016 to May of 2017.The findings found that there are only six from seven types of persuasive technique are used in visit samosir status and they are rationalization (17 status), identification (3 status), suggestion (32 status), compensation (6 status), projection (2 status), and displacement (1 status). And the strategy of persuasive that used in visit samosir facebook page were Logos, Phatos, Ethos. Mostly, the user use the logical reason (Logos). It caused the user need to show the fact or logic reason to get belief from the visitor. So, the visitor become interest to visit the tourism

Abstract

Soft Skill dan Hard Skill merupakan dua jenis keahlian yang harus ditingkatkan kematangannya dalamdiri mahasiswa. Kematangan kedua jenis skill ini akan maksimal dilakukan jika mahasiswa diberikanproses pembelajaran yang bersifat aktif sehingga mahasiswa mampu membangun sendiripengetahuannya. Dengan pendekatan konstruktivistik dosen berperan sebagai fasilitator agarmahasiswa mampu merekonstruksi kognitif atau pengetahuannya sesuai dengan situasi yang nyatadengan mengikutsertakan soft skill sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran . Beberapa strategipembelajaran konstruktivistik yang bisa diterapkan adalah problemsolving, seminar, group discussion,report and review activity, mini research.

Abstract

Abstract  This study related with blended learning used by the teachers in teaching writing descriptive text. This study was qualitatively conducted that involved English teachers. The data were collected by using recording, interview and observing the whole processes of teaching writing. The findings of this study showed that teachers used the three processes in blended learning setting, such as: conventional learning, emphasizes learning actively and interactive learning. It was also found that the use of blended learning was used in the scientific approach activity. And the steps in the scientific approaches applied in learning process in three activities, beginning activity, core activity, and closing activity. There were four problems faced by teachers in using blended learning by two platforms such as the problem of the traditional mind - set, the problem of managing, assessing learner progress, bandwidth, and confusion in using the application. Teachers faced different problems in the learning process.Keywords: Blended learning, teaching, writing, descriptive text, learning process.
