Abstract

The study aims to measure the use of digital media on Google sites which is integrated with case method in English culture in ELT course. It is qualitative research which elaborates the use of digital media Google Sites integrated with cased method in enhancing students™ cultural competence. This research involved 28 students who joined in English Culture in ELT course. Data was collected with observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was done with a descriptive analysis. Research results obtained from the students™ perception regarding the media appearance, material and benefit. The data showed the score 83 for the appearance, 83 for the material presentation and 85 for the benefit of google sites cultural based. Based on this data, the research shows that digital media on google sites (case based) on the English culture in ELT is feasible to enhance students™ cultural competence.keywords: Cultural competence, Digital media, Google site, Case base

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the students’ perception by Cake application in speaking skill. This study was conducted at XI grade of SMA Yayasan Dayah Darul Qur’an. The methodology of this study is qualitative descriptive research. The data was collected by distributing the questionnaire and interviews by divided the questionnaire into 3 aspects namely; cognitive, affective, conative. The findings show that Cake Application is appropriate for learning English, particularly for strengthening students’ speaking abilities. Based on questionnaire data of the cognitive, affective, and cognitive aspects which show that almost all students feel that Cake Application is easy to use and helps them in the learning process. The Cake Application is highly valuable since it teaches them more about learning English and how to improve their speaking talents. Students also enjoy using the application since it may change a repetitious method of learning into a speaking method of learning with the use of technology.

Abstract

The most important purpose of today's technology is to make all people smart and independent, particularly students, in education. This study investigates the subject of teaching technology in the teaching and learning process by Fondi application. Fondi is an application that contains a virtual world where users seem to live in a city and can communicate with fellow users by going to various places and meeting new acquaintances, where users can practice their conversational skills. The use of the Fondi application is to make students can fluent and confident in speaking English. Besides being able to improve students' speaking skills, they can also maximize the use of technology as a very effective learning tool for all parties. The participant of this study was 35 students. A qualitative research design was employed with instruments, interviews, observation, and recording. In investigating the use of the Fondi application to increase students' ability, the Fondi application to increase students' speaking ability as a media in SMP Imelda Medan. It focuses on speaking ability in the learning process. The result of this study showed a positive, based on the usefulness accessibility of its application was 98% positive based on features the accessibility.
